Thank you for fixing errors and adding to Patrick J. Talamantes Ottawahitech (talk) 15:11, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
Awb
Glad to see you using AWB. Hope you are finding it easy to use and is making you work faster.
I'd suggest you download the latest SVN version located here. It has been 8 months since the last release and ALOT of fixes (almost 1,300) have been added.
AWB will not add a birth place or death place to persondata if it is not in an infobox. So, you have to check the article to see if a place is mentioned. Sometimes the birth/death date is only given as a year, but in the article the day and month is given, also have to check for that manually.
Some non-default options I have:
- Under "Options" in the bottom middle window, I suggest you
- Uncheck the "auto tag" box as you will get some, um, "nice" responses back on why you added a orphan or wikify tag. It's not pleasant.
- Check the "Enable RegexTypoFix" box, if you haven't already. It checks for misspelled words and other problems.
- Under "Options" at the top menu bar, there is a "summaries" option. You can add and save edit summaries here. When you open a new AWB, all your edit summaries will have been saved. I've got some named: Add Wikipedia:Persondata, Add info to Wikipedia:Persondata, cleanup, Add "short description" per Wikipedia:Persondata, Add catgory, etc....
- Under "Options" at the top menu bar, I have "highlight errors" checked.
- Under "View" at the top menu bar, I have unchecked "show edit box toolbar". It frees up more space in the view window.

Bot tag
Hi! You puzzled me with this question so I had to do a bit of searching for this answer. The answer is that they do have the bot flag, but you only see the "b" on your watchlist or on the recent changes feed, it doesn't show up when you look at Special:Contributions or at the page history for example. Rumored but uncited deaths
When a rumor of a death — especially when that death is reported as a suicide, and especially when that rumor is inserted by an anonymous IP — is inserted into an article (like it was in Greg King (author), I think the appropriate action to take is to remove the rumor, rather than merely insert a template requesting a citation. We're not a breaking news source (which, by the way, would require better confirmation than an anonymous tip): we're here to report what secondary sources have confirmed. Please let me know if you disagree. - Nunh-huh 21:40, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

Vincent F. Seyfried reverted edit, why?
Why did you revert the edit to Vincent F. Seyfried ? While the previous revision lacked a citation, you could have easily verified the fact that Mr. Seyfried passed away on Saturday. The second result from a Google search for his name is a Newsday article that mentions the date of his death, and a Google News search turns up a similar article in the Western Queens Gazette. In the spirit of cooperation, you could have done a quick Web search or two and added citations yourself instead of rendering the article factually inaccurate. (I never edit Wikipedia myself, by the way, because of unfriendly and unhelpful episodes like this.) 24.185.95.193 (talk) 01:16, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
- I did a Google search but did not get any references so I reverted your edit. I think the search results are customised based on the users location and search history. Read the previous comment on my talk page for the reasons why. --Racklever (talk) 07:25, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
- That's a cop-out of an answer. The information is out there, and if I can find it, then so can you. Meanwhile the Vincent F. Seyfried article remains factually inaccurate because you are more interested in boosting your ego via power-tripping edit reversions, facts be damned. (By the way, it wasn't my edit. As I said above, I never edit Wikipedia articles because of destructive elements like you. Learn how to read and make sure your brain is fully loaded before you shoot your mouth off.) --24.185.95.193 (talk) 18:26, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
edit summary
When adding a category, please use the edit summary of something like "adding a category", "add cat", etc. It is not a cleanup and it looks like you are cleaning up a reference. Bgwhite (talk) 06:36, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

WP Cycling in the Signpost
The WikiProject Report would like to focus on WikiProject Cycling for a Signpost article scheduled to coincide with the Tour de France and the start of the Summer Olympics. As part of our special "Summer Sports Series", this publicity could give you an excellent opportunity to draw attention to the project's efforts and attract new members. Would you be willing to participate in an interview? If so, here are the questions for the interview. Just add your response below each question and feel free to skip any questions that you don't feel comfortable answering. Multiple editors will have an opportunity to respond to the interview questions, so be sure to sign your answers. If you know anyone else who would like to participate in the interview, please share this with them. Have a great day. -Mabeenot (talk) 14:40, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

George Luchiri Wajackoyah
Dear Racklever,
I had for some time been trying to create a page for Kenyan Presidential Candidate George Wajackoyah. I made every attempt to reference each and every line but the article was rejected due to lack of acceptable citations/acceptable references. Thank-you so much for creating a George Luchiri Wajackoyah article here. I took the liberty of adding his stock picture we use for all (most) literature when referencing George. I would like to add additional content, or perhaps supply you with material that should go in the article. Please advise me in this regard and I will follow your protocol. Coreonline
Thanks for message. I deleted your recent article because it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. It has one reference that confirms its existence, but nothing in the text that indicates why it is notable, such as verifiable "free" download or sales numbers. I note that it was only established this month, so little track record, I would have thought.
It appeared to be written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, but this article has no facts other than describing the service, saying what games are available, and that they can be either played for free (with advertisements) or for sale.
If you think you can improve the article and need the text, let me know and I'll sand box it for you. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:41, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

Phil Liggett
Thanks for opening my talk page. Although I have no clue (yet?) how to use it.
Kindly tell me whether you changed my Liggett edit back to the former version because of technicalities (I learned in the meantime that it was not a minor edit) or because you don't agree.
I can't see any verifiable source or evidence that Liggett got offered a professional contract so if HE says it was that way and he didn't want to go pro and there's no evidence, I think it is only correct and appropriate to add "allegedly". Everybody can tell whatever he wants but this should not be wikicontent as you probably know much better than I do as an experienced Wikipedian.

Footballer vs. football player
Regarding this edit - FYI, players of association footballer are "footballers" (excect if you're American or Canadian) - regards, GiantSnowman 19:47, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
- In the UK football player and footballer are used interchangeably with no preference. Both refer to association football.--Racklever (talk) 22:45, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
- In the UK 'footballer' is used 99% of the time - and in international Wikipedia, we need to disambiguate between association football and gridiron. Regards, GiantSnowman 22:47, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
Once again, please do not blindly hit save while working with AWB. In this edit, you left off the , for DEFAULTSORT and NAME. The diacritics were also not remove. DEFAULTSORT should be {{DEFAULTSORT:Pham, Nguyen Sa}}. From looking at your past contributions, you are blindly adding DEFAULTSORT to other articles.
You are also adding blank persondata, such as this edit.
You are still not adding the "SHORT DESCRIPTION" parameter. This is a required parameter, so start adding it.
You are still blindly pressing save on the database reports without adding required information. I'm getting tired of going thru your edits there... either filling in info you didn't add or fix problems because you blindly hit save.
AWB is not a tool just to hit save. Start using it correctly or AWB privileges can be taken away. Bgwhite (talk) 21:05, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
- Pham Nguyen Sa is a Vietnamese name. All fields in PERSONDATA are optional. Please read the documentation for DEFAULTSORT and PERSONDATA and do not threaten other users.--Racklever (talk) 22:38, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
- Per WP:NAMESORT, the sort value is {{DEFAULTSORT:Pham, Nguyen Sa}}. DEFAULTSORT is not optional. No, the fields are not optional. If you read WP:PERSONDATA, you will find ALTERNATIVE NAMES is the only optional one. Your refusal to follow AWB rules and Wikipedia guidelines is inexcusable. There are categories, such as Category:Persondata templates without name parameter to fix blank parameters. I am not threatening, just stating the fact that if you don't follow the rules, privileges are usually revoked. Bgwhite (talk) 23:11, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
Hantavirus Risk in Yosemite
Hi, I noticed you recently contributed to the Hantavirus article. I've been having trouble adding mention of the 2012 Hantarvirus Outbreak to the main Yosemite_National_Park Page.
I have written a new one-sentence draft of this edit in one of my subpages: User:Airelor/Yosemite_National_Park.
Please take a look and suggest any other edits or make any changes as you see fit before I try to add it to the main Yosemite_National_Park page. Hallo, you changed {{Multiple issues}} from current to deprecated syntax here. I've reverted that part of your edit. PamD 14:05, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

Hi. Can you help me continue building-out the David Kemp entry? I'm asking everyone I know who edits cycling stuff on wikipedia to see what they can contribute, especially if someone has an appropriate photo of the rider. Removal of tag
In this edit you indicate that the band is "not a blp" and you removed {{BLP unsourced|date=October 2012}}. That's not quite correct. Bands where there are still living members are considered biographies of living people. Also, if you sincerely feel that it's not a BLP you should have replaced that tag with {{Unreferenced}}. This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Celso Advento Castillo, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: CAD. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. MadmanBot (talk) 10:29, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

If it's not too much - is there any chance that when you are updating the articles of the recently deceased, that in addition to the lifespan brackets and infobox (if there's one) you could also mention it in the prose with the ref being there? IIRC there's something in the MOS about not having refs in the lead sentence and I think (though I'm sometimes a hypocrite here) that the cite looks a bit lazy/messy in the infobox. It's my understanding that Bey is a title (like "King Kalam"), not a surname, so the DEFAULTSORT should be under K not B. I've changed it. PamD 13:58, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
Ed Gayda
The reference you added to Ed Gayda was an obituary for a different person (Ed Dahler). Did you happen to see an obituary for Gayda somewhere? Zagalejo^^^ 17:47, 25 April 2013 (UTC)
- No, there was confusion because the article had interwiki links to the Spanish and Italian articles for Ed Dahler. I have now removed the links.--Racklever (talk) 18:22, 25 April 2013 (UTC)
Valentina Novakovic
Hey. I just wanted to let you know that I redirected the Valentina Novakovic article because she fails WP:ENT and is only notable for one role. The article was previously deleted via WP:AFD and nothing has changed since then. - JuneGloom Talk 14:21, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

Why are you reverting -- without an edit summary -- to a version without a source? You're clearly not a new editor. Names on that page need a source and you reverted twice without an explanation. freshacconci talktalk 20:20, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
- I restored the edit because I wanted to add a source. I had to do it twice because I got an edit conflict.--Racklever (talk) 20:29, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
- Fair enough. Obviously everyone was editing frantically without taking a breath and stumbling all over each other. Cheers.freshacconci talktalk 20:31, 6 May 2013 (UTC)

Hello!
Happy to "meet" you! I noticed you rated the 2013 Tour of California as a stub, but it evolved quite a bit. Just wondering if it could be "reevaluated". Cheers Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 04:18, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
- I was wondering what does it take for an article to have a "B" rating? I wrote the 2012 Tour of California and think the 2013 edition is a lot better. I didn't throw millions of citations for nothing per WP:Citation Overkill. I've been told that some people evaluate articles by not reading them and ranking them by counting the citations. I mean, I took hours to write the article, what would it take to improve it to "B"? As I read the requirements, I think it meets it. Thanks for your time :) Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 04:52, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
- I took hours and hours to write the 2013 Tour of California article and I've been nice to you, I think I deserve an answer. I don't want to come across as rude. Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 00:49, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for reconsidering, I mean I would not have bothered you had I not read the requirements for B rated articles. I though it fit right in there. Have a nice day :) Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 22:15, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

Alfred Planyavsky: an IP inserted his death, I could not not find an obituary (nor would I expect one, as much as he'd deserve it), but it is on his website, - I AGF and don't think that is a bad joke, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:49, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

Michael Karkoc
Please do not put Michael Karkoc in Category:Living people for now. The article as written is about the World War II SS lieutenant who apparently committed war crimes, not the old man in Minnesota who may be the same person. Right now, under WP:BLP, we can't make that assumption, so we can't say that the SS lieutenant is alive or dead. Thanks. Rklear (talk) 12:48, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
- I added the category, per WP:BLP, because there is no evidence that the SS lieutenant is dead. Would you prefer Category:Possibly living people ? --Racklever (talk) 13:01, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, I would say that was more appropriate. Rklear (talk) 16:17, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

Your reverts
Hi, my system have just notified me, that you reverted my edits to certain football players. What was the main reason behind it? I personally talked to one of the admins and he told me its perfectly fine to put Sports template and talk header in every sports related article.--Mishae (talk) 13:57, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
- Your edits changed the WikiProject Biography template from "living=no" to "living=yes" which was incorrect.[3]--Racklever (talk) 14:30, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

I've re-removed the three links; I didn't remove them because they were "dead" (no idea where you got that from?), I removed them because they're clearly non-RS - a photograph on Flickr? A song on YouTube? A link to a generic BBC Radio page that doesn't mention him? GiantSnowman 08:58, 8 September 2013 (UTC)
Deaths in 2013
Twice you have reverted my edit to remove two names without offering any explanation. User:Taylor Trescott posted a note to me saying "We don't remove names from the list until one month has passed." Assuming that is also your reasoning (and I can only assume since you offered no explanation in the edit summary) you are both wrong. I have explained to Taylor Trescott how he (and you) have misunderstood the policy on red links on User talk:Taylor Trescott. You might want to check that out. 99.192.72.29 (talk) 23:16, 8 September 2013 (UTC)

Category:Year of birth unknown
Hello, Racklever! I noticed that you have marked articles with the above Category:Year of birth unknown, when they lack the year of birth. My I make a suggestion? Some times, the year may not be unknown at all, just missing from the article. If it is then marked with Category:Year of birth unknown, no one may bother looking for a year of birth, even if it is just missing and could be added by some one with access to better information were that year could be found and added to the article. In that way, the article may never be improved in regard to that. So perhaps it would be better to use the Category:Year of birth missing? Unless of course you know it is truly unknown. I just though I should mention it. have a good day/night/evening!--Aciram (talk) 13:00, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
Sebastiaan Bowier
Where did you get the DoB for Sebastiaan Bowier? I copied it from the Dutch wiki, but commented it out as it is unsourced. A number of sources give his age as 26, but that could well be circular referencing. Does it need a sources anyway? Regards. Jamesx12345 21:49, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

Hello Racklever. Did you flag this article as an orphan because no other wikipedia articles link to it? I don't quite understand the system yet. Anyway, there are now multiple links coming from the 'see also' section of other wikipedia articles, let me know if this addresses the situation. Hi RL; Yesterday I entered Al-Mughayyir (Ramallah) because in the Ramallah el Bireh governorate page the link pointed to a village with the same located in Jenin.
