You are now a Reviewer
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 23:16, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
Oricon ref
Hi,
First sorry for Shion Tsuji. I did not notice that Oricon improved their website to include charts rank with each artist list of releases as it was for Shion Tsuji. Now the evil point, i should point you that just using http://ranking.oricon.co.jp/ as refs in other discography for ranking isn't great anymore because we do have access the more accurate links as shown in Shion Tsuji case. The sales information will unfortunately remain to the Oricon subscribers. --KrebMarkt 08:57, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not entirely understanding your point. I am an Oricon subscriber and can get the sales data, I see the boundary being the same as citing a book (you either have to purchase or rent the data). --Prosperosity (talk) 09:07, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
- Would you please do me the favor to use a similar reference that the one you used for Shion Tsuji in the Cocco article and others discography that you will stumble upon. The sole reference to http://ranking.oricon.co.jp/ assert nothing. --KrebMarkt 09:17, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
- That was the plan! I started a while back with Kokia discography and Sakanaction. --Prosperosity (talk) 10:37, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

RE:By the way
I'm a knowledgeable editor in anime related soundtracks article.
There is no Manual of Style for anime related soundtracks unfortunately. All that was done so far is based on first hand editing experience which created some best editing practices for such articles.
In contrary of clearly defined artists or groups of artists, Oricon will not make it easy for sourcing meaning you are at pointing one source per CDs. I love when Oricon use the generic "TVサントラ" term for artist of an OST.
For what is worth checking:
- List of Popotan soundtracks Featured List
- List of Aria soundtracks
- List of Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle albums
- List of Clannad soundtracks
- Music of Neon Genesis Evangelion Current most heavy worked article
For the anime you mentioned:
- K-On! There should be reference to soundtracks in each seiyu biography article. Will need to collect & expand them in the K-On talk page. There are certainly enough materials to have a spin-out list of soundtracks for this one.
- Angel Beats! Need to collect data to see if there are enough materials for a list of soundtracks.
Note: In those two cases, it may be wise to have user:Juhachi to join in as he is already involved in those two series & he is a very experienced editor. Clannad GA that him.
That's an exhaustive starting point. I don't see how to evolve it.
Those i will give them a shot and see if there enough for a spin-out article but at least there should be enough materials for a sub-section in the related articles.
Re: Anime soundtracks
Not that I haven't considered doing something for some of these series, just I never really gave it serious thought. A few years back, I created a bunch of anime soundtrack lists (List of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni soundtracks, List of Maria-sama ga Miteru albums, List of Haruhi Suzumiya albums, List of Lucky Star albums, plus the soundtrack lists in Category:Key Sounds Label, and many others), and for the most part, I feel most of those lists either shouldn't have been created, or were done in the wrong way. Not that we can't have well-done soundtrack articles, as evidenced by List of Popotan soundtracks getting FL (much to my surprise), just the majority of the information on the lists contain info that could easily be merged into a music section on a main article, including any Oricon chart rankings. The only info that you can't really merge has to do with the track listings themselves, but that's not really a big loss IMO. The fact is, I've taken a step back from album lists, and haven't created one for over a year. Now, even though I'm reluctant to start them, I'm more opposed to the idea of having 20+ separate K-On! album articles (seen at Talk:K-On!#List of K-On! albums) than a simple list which could consolidate all of them, but do I want to make a list of all those albums; frankly, no. I would stick with putting it on the main article of the anime series.--十八 09:03, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
Superfly
The song is "Manifesto" (the words are in bold lettering on the cover) and the third parameter in {{nihongo}} is for the romaji of the subject in the 2nd parameter. If it's a song, this is not where the English name of the song goes.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 17:29, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, I didn't realise it was on the cover. --Prosperosity (talk) 03:22, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure that the fact that "I Spy I Spy" is a collab between Superfly and Jet makes it notable, as does the fact that "Manifesto" is the group's sophomore single, and the last one featuring Tabo. The fact that they are official singles by the group means that they are notable per WP:MUSIC.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 03:34, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
Whiteberry
Hello!
I asked that question:
"What would be the best way to find out how much it sold the single Natsu Matsuri "(夏 祭り," Summer Festival ") of the band Whiteberry?"
"Is there a link to this site on the Oricon?"
I ask this favor, sorry my bad English...
and 夢 answered back:
"Well the information to see how much copies the single sold would be available on this site. However, you must be a subscribed user to see the total of sales. You can ask User:Prosperosity to find out how many copies of the single were sold since he is a subscribed user of that site. I am sure he'll be willing to help you."
Please, I am very grateful to know how much he sold, and if possible please link to use as a reference.
Sorry my bad English.Bruno Ishiai (talk) 02:55, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you!
- I am truly grateful.

Ok, how about this. I will create the articles for "I Spy I Spy" and "Manifesto" and you can then put them up for deletion to see if the rest of Wikipedia agrees with you. Sounds good? I'll get right on it. mx3 (Sorafune) 話 03:34, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

Wildflower album
Superfly and Warner Music Japan still classify Wildflower as a single. Are you sure that we should go with the RIAJ and Oricon rather than the artist themselves?—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 18:12, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, the wording they use is 2枚組のシングル&カヴァー・ベスト・アルバム, aka a 2CD single/album set. You can't class the whole thing as a single, since only half of it is, but splitting it up into Wildflower (single) and Covers wouldn't be right since they're a single release, so it gets a bit...difficult. I think the only sane way to treat it is as an EP+cover album set, where Wildflower/Covers is a page about the physically released album, and separate pages exist for the notable tracks on the single (at least Wildflower and Tamashii Revolution). Articles on songs/singles should deal with the song as its subject.
- So all in all, I hope this backfires for Warner, so they don't attempt such a strange marketing technique again. --Prosperosity (talk) 03:12, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
- Why not split the article up into "Wildflower" and Cover Songs: Complete Best 'Track 3', saying "Wildflower" is a single and Cover Songs... is an album sold with the single?—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 18:52, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, it's still just a single (Wildflower); it just happens to have an entire album as a bonus disk.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 21:04, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
- If the artist and record label call it a single, we shouldn't call it an EP or an album.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 04:29, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
- Also, before we go back and forth edit warring, let's get some other opinions first.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 04:32, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

- guitar music (you might be able to find some info about the song from the pictures, like the tempo or whatever)
- [4]
- Boss OP, with MBOML as theme song
- released as a ringtone on 2009/05/06 (don't use this date for the infobox though, as the song didn't get released then, just a clip of it)
- Originally was not named during drama broadcasts, in news articles or at the official site(s). Often referred to in news articles as "the nanana song" (ナナナの曲 nanana no kyoku)" ([5] this one even calls it the nanana song in the title)
- Performed at Bokura no Ongaku, first TV Live for song (June 5th).
- Performed at Box Emotions free live (Sept. 2, Roppongi Hills Arena)
- I honestly can't find any interview where she's mentioned the song, annoying. --Prosperosity (talk) 01:52, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

W-B-X/WBX
While the consensus on the talk page opposed the use of tildes, it most certainly did not oppose the use of hyphens in "W-B-X" (it in fact preferred it). Having these hyphens (which are not the "nakaguro dots" you originally compared them to) are fine and are not proscribed against in any manual of style or policy.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 08:37, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
You know what, screw it, I've moved it back to your preferred title.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 08:43, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
However, I cannot find anything in the manual of styles anywhere that says that "W-B-X" cannot be used. The only instance of it appearing in MOS-JA is referring to names such as "m·a·z·e" where it is read as "Maze" rather than "Em A Zee E".—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 09:00, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

You do not personally decide whether or not notability has been established, and just because the song has not been released on CD yet most certainly does not mean that it does not have an established notability. The article contains three reliable sources pointing out how the different songs on the single are notable, so the single itself is notable. You didn't seem to have an issue with "not yet released" with Wildflower & Cover Songs: Complete Best 'Track 3' (created two months before it was released) or Eyes on Me (Superfly song) (created a little over a month before it was released). So in the future, don't take WP:Notability into your own hands.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 07:11, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- Err, as a Wikipedia editor, yes I do. WP:MUS clearly states a song has to be notable in some way before it receives an article, which this single is not. It hasn't charted or received a certification or been covered often, hell it expressly states Unreleased material...are in general not notable. The page will probably be notable in the future, just not right now. Also, your logic is flawed in a WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS way. Just because other articles have been like that, does not mean that that's the proper thing to do, or that citing what happened on a certain low-traffic page is evidence of what should happen in the future.
- Plus, those specific examples? Wildflower was all messy in regard to whether it was a single or an album so I didn't bother, and I don't think I noticed "Eyes on Me" until notability had already been established. --Prosperosity (talk) 07:59, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- I do not think you are accurately gauging whether or not the general notability guidelines are satisfied in the article. Both Natalie.mu and Barks.jp discuss the release, and under WP:NSONGS, as this is about a single and not an individual song, I am fairly certain that the "individual song" content does not apply here. I have carefully described how the songs in the single are being utilized by the Japanese media (theme song of an upcoming film, song used in a major advertising campaign), as well as very clearly stating that the single will be released at a specific date. Just because a musical release has not been done yet does not mean that the subject is not notable for coverage. Just because unreleased songs are generally not notable does not mean that in this case, these two/three songs are not notable. So, if you want to get rid of this article, take it to AFD instead of interpretting the various guidelines and policies the way you see fit.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 08:15, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- Just because a site mentions a release, doesn't mean that it's notable. Furthermore, just because the songs are used for something, doesn't make them notable. Not all theme songs or commercial songs are necessarily notable or needing of their own pages. I redirected it personally like that because it's a clear cut case, this will pointlessly add to the queue at AFD, and it takes effort to list things. --Prosperosity (talk) 08:33, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- The site just doesn't mention the release, it describes how the release is being used by two separate institutions in Japan. And anyway, it turns out that "Sunshine Sunshine" is available in the ringtone market. Something I didn't pick up on in any of the previous sources. And I'm fairly certain that if a song is used in some sort of advertising campaign (in this case two songs from the same release are being used in two separate campaigns), then I would say that makes it notable. And at least with the AFD it will allow for the notability guidelines to be rectified. There is no reason that there should not be an article for a song that has not been out yet. A song does not need to be available for sale in order for it to be deemed notable.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 08:39, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- That's not what I mean when I say it not being released means it's not notable. Notability cannot be established because all the things that establish notability happen after it gets released. You can't get multiple people to cover a song before its release, to give it awards, to buy a song before its release to the point where it ranks highly on a national chart, etc. --Prosperosity (talk) 08:49, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Permission; File:Rain Ninjawarriorsigning.jpg
Hi. While doing some image cleanup, I came upon the image above and notice that though you've supplied a valid license, you do not seem to have completed the verification process. When you receive permission to license text or an image, you need to forward that to the Wikimedia Foundation for its records, unless the verification has been provided at the original site. Without that verification, I'm afraid, we can't retain content that is owned by one person but uploaded by somebody else. (See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials; Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission)
The image has been tagged, which sets a seven-day clock for verification to proceed before the image may be deleted. If for some resaon verification is delayed, it's not a huge issue; even if the image were deleted, it would be restored once permission is logged. Permission should be sent to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. Please be sure to provide a URL to the image on Wikipedia, the URL of the video from which the image is taken and the correspondence you received from the copyright owner. I'll watch your talk page for a few days; let me know if you need more information. Thanks. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:08, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, I've sent and email detailing permission for both File:Rain Ninjawarriorsigning.jpg and File:Utada InthefleshNewYork2010.jpg. One question about the second one: the footage was taken by the author at the concert, therefore she owns it, however is it an issue that the video was taken down by a claim by Media Interactive Inc., a marketing company that claimed rights to the footage but probably doesn't? --Prosperosity (talk) 06:49, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
AFD process
When creating an AFD discussion, please do not forget to add the discussion into the AFD log. You did not do that for the Beep!!/Sunshine Sunshine AFD and that is why no one else noticed it. I have added it into Feb. 1's log and relisted the discussion. Bejinhan talks 09:59, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
Japan cert
Hi there. This is regarding this old edit. Most of the certifications for this album stated are pure imagination, so I am rewriting the certifications section. The Japan certification is for an album called "t.A.T.u.". Was this the release name of 200 km/h in the Wrong Lane in Japan? Best regards.--Muhandes (talk) 11:13, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
- That's right, it was retitled to be eponymous for some reason (probably because the original title would be way too complicated to translate marketably). For example, the album's listing at Neowing [9] is eponymous, but at CDJapan [10] (the site's English language version) retitles it to have the Western release title. You can also see the tracklist at places like the above sites and the Oricon database is exactly the same as 200km/h (sans the bonus tracks).
- Also, I figure if you're re-doing their discography/certifications and things, you'll want the official sales figures from the Oricon ranking website without any ridiculous fanbloated figures. It's a paid service, but the peak positions can be reached here. Note: Oricon stops counting sales if a single is not in the top 200/an album is not in the top 300.
- SINGLES
- 2003/03/05 All About Us. #38, 46,974 copies sold
- 2003/06/11 Not Gonna Get Us. #86, 7,304 copies sold
- 2005/09/01 All About Us. #27, 19,444 copies sold
- ALBUMS

- 2003/06/04 t.A.T.u (deluxe edition). #3, 170,827 copies sold
- 2003/09/21 200 Po Vstrechnoy. #123, 4,633 copies sold
- 2003/09/26 t.A.T.u Remixes. #105, 7,761 copies sold
- 2005/10/05 Dangerous and Moving. #10, 61,667 copies sold
- 2006/09/27 The Best. #204, 1,055 copies sold
- Hope this helps! --Prosperosity (talk) 11:54, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, I just wanted to be sure. Frankly, all I wanted to do is correct the certifications for this one album, and while I was there I removed some things which were just plain dumb. I could add the exact 1,075,445 figure instead of the 1,000,000 which the Million certification already vouches for, if you give me the exact link (as I can't read Japanese), that is, if you think it is meaningful. --Muhandes (talk) 12:23, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
- Well, they're measuring different things (copies sold while in the top 300 vs. copies shipped) so it's generally useful to have them in. The actual data is only accessible through the paid service, so I generally cite like so: <ref>{{cite web | title=オリコンランキング情報サービス「you大樹」 |trans_title=Oricon Ranking Information Service "You Big Tree" | url=http://ranking.oricon.co.jp | work=[[Oricon]] | accessdate=February 24, 2010}} (subscription only)</ref>. For the freely published chart positions, you could link with <nowiki><ref>{{Cite web|author=Oricon|url=http://ranking.oricon.co.jp/free_contents/search/detail.asp?itemcd=503389&samecd=1 |title=t.A.T.u.20万枚生産限定/CD EXTRA仕様 - t.A.T.u. |language=Japanese |accessdate=February 27, 2011}}</ref>. Also, the Oricon website is pretty easy to navigate with just using translate.google.com, as it's mostly just album titles.
- By the way, do you think it's worthwhile to add the Japanese cover that shows the title t.A.T.u.? Can you find one? --Muhandes (talk) 16:50, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
- There's a fairly HQ one here. I usually would put an alternate cover like that on an article I'd make, but I have no idea with the 200km/h one, since aren't there quite a few different regional covers? --Prosperosity (talk) 03:20, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
- There was discussion recently, and an alternate cover can be uploaded if it is sufficiently different. I'll add that one too, it seems completely different. --Muhandes (talk) 06:39, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

Advice about another RIAJ cert
Hi there. I hope you don't mind me asking, you seem to be the expert on the subject. Paint the Sky with Stars claims Million cert by RIAJ, and gives three sources [11][12][13]. However, I can't find anything on [14] or [15]. What do you think? --Muhandes (talk) 16:44, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
- Interesting that it's not there. I checked the sales, and its sold 700k/300k over two simultaneously released versions, so it should be listed. Hmm...I might actually send them an email asking them to rectify it. --Prosperosity (talk) 03:20, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
- Interesting. If I understand correctly, the album sold a million, but was not certified for selling a million, so it should not appear as a certification, but can appear as a sales figure. Am I getting this right? Also, do you think any of the sources provided is reliable and should be used? --Muhandes (talk) 06:15, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
- Yup, it's nuts. It's probably something to do with how they did things in the 1990s, I remember different versions of singles used to chart separately, which is all sorts of silly. Here's the break-down by version, if you want to put that up (I usually round the figures as the methods they use are never precise enough to get it down that accurate:
- Regular edition (1997/11/10): #9, 725,879.
- Limited edition (1997/11/10): #4, 306,340.
- 'Gold' edition (1998/10/31): #38, 46,530.
- The sources provided are ([1][3]) some random people's personal sites, and [2] doesn't seem like it has authority. While the data in them is correct, it's probably not the best to cite them, as they don't have any authoritative backing to them. It would be better to use a citation for Oricon's paid service in the style I did in the above topic. --Prosperosity (talk) 07:49, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
- Could you please have a look at User:Muhandes/Certification Table Example#Paint the Sky with Stars and see if I did the Oricon ref correctly? --Muhandes (talk) 10:32, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
- What do you think of that? I like to round the figures as their methods are never to a level of preciseness that figures like that would be accurate, and I added the individual tallies as hidden text in case the album re-charts. Although, such information would be encyclopaedic enough to add separately. --Prosperosity (talk) 05:37, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
- Very good. Personally I'd rather always round down but that's a matter of taste. --Muhandes (talk) 06:52, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
- The RIAJ emailed me back, saying that it was certified a million seller in February 1998, so I've pointed out that it's not listed on the page. I'm figuring that the list of the site is only million selling albums released in that year, which is kind of silly. --Prosperosity (talk) 06:29, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
- Silly indeed. Either they add it on the year in which it was released or on the year in which it was certified, but it should appear on one of the lists. --Muhandes (talk) 16:33, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
- So I've asked them where I can find such data, and apparently it hasn't been published online or in print form, but you can ask manually at their site (which in a citation context is pretty useless). --Prosperosity (talk) 21:21, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

While not optimal, what I saw some editors do in such a case is add as a footnote "based on official correspondence from X" and link to a copy of that email. While on itself it isn't enough, maybe together with the citation of actual sales from Oricon and with the other less reliable sources as collaborating source it is sufficient. I'm not sure. On the other hand, it's not THAT important, just mildly annoying. --Muhandes (talk) 21:29, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
Hi again. Can you help me please find the month in which this gold certification occurred? I'm working on Andrea Bocelli's certifications, so if you can locate any other it would also be appreciated. Thanks. --Muhandes (talk) 20:39, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
- Here we go. The certification was a gold digital certification for full-length cellphone downloads of Sarah Brightman's Time to Say Goodbye (Solo Version). Hmm...I must have been mass updating the category at the time, usually I put the citation, and probably skipped over that since it's a bit of a messy one. --Prosperosity (talk) 06:26, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
- By the way, here are Andrea's Japan sales, if you'd like 'em:
- 1999/04/21 Sogno (known as Yume no Kaori (夢の香り, The Smell of Dreams))
- reached #53, 17,230 sales
- 2002/11/27 Aranjuez: Sentimento
- reached #160, 7,412 sales
- 2004/12/22 Andrea
- reached #206, 3,900 sales
- 2006/10/18 Amore (known as Anata ni Okuru Ai no Uta (貴方に贈る愛の歌, A Love Song I Send to You))
- reached #39, 10,585 sales
- 2008/03/19 Time to Say Goodbye: Bocelli Super Best [Japan version of Vivere with different tracklist]
- reached #15, 35,448 sales
- 2009/01/21 Incanto (known as Santa Lucia: Miwaku no Italian Songs (サンタ・ルチア~魅惑のイタリアン・ソングス, Santa Ruchia: Meiwaku no Itarian Songusu, Santa Lucia: Fascinating Italian Songs))
- reached #110, 4,224 sales
- 2009/12/02 My Christmas
- reached #142, 2,266 sales --Prosperosity (talk) 07:09, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, I added the certification to the table, it already has the means for such certifications, I'm happy to say. I'm not sure I'm going to automate referencing these weekly tables right now with {{Certification Cite}}, as I did for the monthly ones, since I don't encounter them much. If I'll encounter many of them I probably will.
- As for the rest, I'll add the chart positions with time, with your help pointing the names I think I can actually operate the website. Thanks! --Muhandes (talk) 09:54, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
- I added some of the releases, especially when there are bonus tracks or the name is completely different. I'm using bare URLs as it's too difficult for me to create proper citations. Any suggestions of a simple way to resolve this? See for example The Best of Andrea Bocelli: Vivere --Muhandes (talk) 12:31, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
- An easy way is just <ref>{{Cite web|url=[URL] (I tend to just use the one before the ranking data) |title=Copy/paste from View -> Page source -> whatever's in the title field |language=Japanese |author=Oricon |accessdate=xmonth x, 20xx}}</ref>. The actual ranking data won'y have the release name in the title field, but I suppose if you really wanted to link it, you could put サンタ・ルチア~魅惑のイタリアン・ソングス - ボチェッリ(アンドレア) - ランキングデータ (adding the subtitle link at the end). --Prosperosity (talk) 19:27, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
- reached #142, 2,266 sales --Prosperosity (talk) 07:09, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
Sorry but I'm really having hard time locating these certifications myself. On the other hand I'm pretty sure if we had certification in Hebrew it would have been you having the hard time :) Anyway, would be glad if you could link me the certification for Umbrella (song). Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 20:21, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
- Here we go, Umbrella got a gold digital certification for full-length cellphone downloads. --Prosperosity (talk) 00:21, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, I added it. --Muhandes (talk) 10:05, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
Previous version of the page claimed Gold certification and 117,000 sales in Japan. Can you please help me verify the claims? Best regards.--Muhandes (talk) 10:17, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
- Yeesh. Oricon sales list total sales as 32,922, and a peak of #33. Even the sources for the positions are horrid, one is basically a forum and the other is a vague unspecific link to Soundscan top 30 data of all things, not Oricon. So basically all lies! --Prosperosity (talk) 11:45, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
- I expected as much, thanks. --Muhandes (talk) 12:03, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
Hi there. Can you please help me locate the certifications for Thalía (English album) and My Heart Will Go On? thanks. --Muhandes (talk) 16:52, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
- [16] (retitled I Want You)
- [17] (gold for full-length digital downloads to cellphones) --Prosperosity (talk) 06:37, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks. --Muhandes (talk) 07:52, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
Hi there, me again. Can you please help me locate the Gold certification for Sleep Through the Static? Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 06:57, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
- Here are his three certifications: In Between Dreams Sing a Long and Lullabies Sleep Through the Static (all gold). --Prosperosity (talk) 09:49, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll add them all. --Muhandes (talk) 10:56, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

- Wow, I am so happy to see a Japanese music article in such a good shape! I was wondering if this contains anything related to the album's production (I'm not Japanese :D). Also, can you tell me if RIAJ certifications before 2000 are available online? Thank you... I'm astonished by the article. It's just amazing!! Novice7 (talk) 11:32, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks! It's something I try to do wherever I can, since Japanese articles are usually big piles of poo (both here and on JPN wiki). Thanks for the link (I hadn't actually realised there was a text version), but it's basically a puffed up version of this, but with less interview. Thanks for the heads up, though!
- Yes and no on the RIAJ thing. They list million certifications here (only if the work sold a million between its release date and the end of the music year), but other than that, no. You can send them emails and they can manually tell you how things did, though that's a bit of a drag. Certifications pre about 2002 used to be different, too (gold was something like 50k instead of 100k, I think?). Were you looking for anything in particular? --Prosperosity (talk) 07:20, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you for the link. I'm looking for Ayumi Hamasaki's A Song for ×× certification. I can't see it on the million list. Yeah, I know.. I sent mail to CRIA and they never replied :D Novice7 (talk) 10:00, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
- That's odd, since it should appear on the list (it'll be something silly, like some copies were shipped before and after Jan 1st 1999, but not a million copies in either year). I just emailed them, they'll probably reply in a couple days' time (it's golden week, so I figure they'll reply late). --Prosperosity (talk) 11:37, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you so much! By the way, I don't know how to read/write Japanese (though I like it very much). Also, does Oricon supply sales information? I can't seem to find that on the website too. Wow, I'm glad to find who can help me with Japanese certifications. And, is the week special in Japan? Novice7 (talk) 11:54, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
- Yes they do, but they don't publish all of it. They have weekly top 30s on their site like here (press 過去ランキング up the top, then シングル[single] or アルバム[album], and then the year/month/week. Some of the weeks aren't up, though. They have more comprehensive sales data at their pay-site, though. --Prosperosity (talk) 12:34, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
- Wow, thanks. For a non-Japanese speaker like me, the website is very confusing. So I got the weekly sales for many Hamasaki albums. Thank you so much! Btw, I have a small question. Does Oricon publish a magazine like what Billboard does in the US? Novice7 (talk) 12:46, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
- ...kinda? I mean, they publish a magazine, but it's nothing like what you'd expect. There's no sales data, it's all just pictures of boybands and interviews with musicians, and stuff. --Prosperosity (talk) 12:52, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
- Aah, I see. Anyway, thanks for helping me out. I'll try to cleanup Japanese music articles too. Good luck! Novice7 (talk) 13:04, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

Help
Hi! Hope you're good. Can you explain this page? I mean, the peak position, sales (first week and total, if any) etc. Thanks. Novice7 (talk) 05:29, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
- Hey, the profile says the Japanese release date (May 25, 2001), peak position (#24) and that it spent six weeks in the top...100 I think it was then? This shows the first week sales/position (#25, 9560) and this shows the peak week (aka week two, #24, 12430). Total sales (i.e. the pay site) are listed as 44,580, but Oricon only lists sales for charting weeks, because they're silly. This shows that the album was her second most sold in Japan, after Sweet Kisses.
- Hope that helps! --Prosperosity (talk) 10:06, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
- Wow, thank you so much! Is it certified Gold or something? I don't think it is, just wondering. Novice7 (talk) 10:38, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
- Nope, though Sweet Kisses probably is. --Prosperosity (talk) 10:51, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
- Sweet Kisses is gold? Can you give me the link, if possible? Thanks. Novice7 (talk) 10:59, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
- There's no link possible, as their monthly .pdf magazine listing certifications starts in May '01, so you'd have to ask them manually. Oricon lists the sales as 118,350, so I find it highly likely it received a certification. --Prosperosity (talk) 11:29, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, I see. Thanks for the sales, again. I'll mail them asking the details. Novice7 (talk) 11:39, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

Online translation
Hi Prosperosity. Do you happen to know any good Japanese to English online translators? Google and Babelfish are really bad. I want to translate parts of this interview to expand an article. Novice7 (talk) 07:22, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
- Due to the lack of mapping of a lot of concepts in English/Japanese, plus the amount of unstated subjects in Japanese, I don't think good online translators will exist for another 15+, maybe 20+ years. What were you wanting to know from the interview? In all honestly, it's probably a translation of an English interview already out there. --Prosperosity (talk) 01:12, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- Wow, that long?? I wanted to get some of the quotes from the interview and yes, it is a translation of an English interview (from 2001). I can't find the original interview and the link to the video is broken too... Novice7 (talk) 06:19, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, well look at it in Google Translate, find the parts that you think will be good for the article, and I'll have a look and translate closer to what it actually says. It's still probably easier to find the original interview, as you'll get some issues when you translate back and forth. A sneaky way to do it might be to find the interview at like, a fan forum or something, and then cite the Japanese version, as it's from an official source. --Prosperosity (talk) 08:21, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you! I'll take a print of the translated version and select the ones which are good. I searched on many websites, but in vain. Novice7 (talk) 10:05, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

Hello. If you're free, can you translate what Simpson said about her not writing songs for the album? Novice7 (talk) 08:45, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- Here's all the factoids from the sections:
- The album was produced in an entirely different way to her first. She was only 17 when contracted by Columbia.
- She started working on Sweet Kisses straight after her contract was signed, and is a product of two years.
- Irresistible is something that only took 6-8 months to produce. Tommy Mottola chose the songs for her.
- There was no theme or concept in mind, it was just a collection of the best songs Tommy could find.
- She expressed a desire to write more songs during a previous interview in Japan for her debut album, however no songs were written by her on the album. She's very shy when it comes to songwriting. She thinks you need a lot of bravery to show something you've written to someone else. For some reason, she couldn't find the words she wanted for the album. She thinks someday there will be a time when she will write songs, but now isn't that time. --Prosperosity (talk) 09:19, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- Wow, thanks heaps! Thank you so much!! Novice7 (talk) 11:00, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
Hi Prosperosity. I thought you might be able to help me with this one. An editor claims Gold certification for Eden (Sarah Brightman album) by RIAJ, based on this page. I did a search and did not find this certification in the database. What do you think? Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 21:45, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- The source says La Luna received a gold certification, not Eden. Given Oricon gives the total sales of Eden at 6,370, I really hope EMI didn't press 50k copes of it, though you never know. At the very least, nothing is proven about the certification in the source. Oricon lists La Luna as having sold 63,240 copies, so it would have definitely been certified gold in 2000. It's fairly futile to search for any non-million certifications by the RIAJ prior to May 2001, as that's the earliest they started publishing them online in .pdf files. --Prosperosity (talk) 07:24, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks as always. --Muhandes (talk) 10:41, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
Japanese stage names/birth names.
There is an editor removing birth names from articles and categories, as per attached edit. Not sure there is ever an "official" source for such information, but not knowing anything about the matter, I thought you could cast your eye over the edit. Cheers. --Richhoncho (talk) 09:27, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- Well, the information does need to be sourced. The Japanese Wiki article has a source, though a slightly vague one (a TV show broadcast in 1996). So if the editor was removing sourced personal names, that's not too great, but it's fair enough if it's unsourced. Especially in cases where the musician is known primarily by the pseudonym, to the point where their real name isn't widely known. --Prosperosity (talk) 09:55, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
Superfly music videos
Have you attempted to try iTunes?—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 18:22, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- Good idea, but sourcing that would be such a bitch. Plus I'm not sure if the director information is there. --Prosperosity (talk) 09:43, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

Really? As you can see on my talk, this has happened a couple of times and I was hoping that I'd avoided it. I guess I'm just going to have to forgo the dash fixes because I keep on messing it up some percentage of the time. Thanks. I'm assuming that you've reverted any messes you've seen--I'll take a look myself and see if I spot any. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 11:00, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

Hello Prosperosity! Can you do me a favour? Can you tell me if Mariah Carey's Charmbracelet is certified Gold/Platinum/Million in Japan? Thanks, Novice7 (talk) 11:21, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

Nice job! :) Btw, don't you think her discography page has to be expanded? (Hey I'm Novice7!) Ryoga Godai (talk) 04:43, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks! I could, but to be honest, I don't have the energy to police changes to such a popular artist's discography all the time! --Prosperosity (talk) 05:21, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
- Haha, that is true. When I return we can work together on her discography and Queen of Hip-Pop, what do you say? Btw, there's something I want to ask you. I don't know if you see anime, there's one called InuYasha by Rumiko Takahashi. In the 3rd movie of the series, there's a character called "[Setsuna no] Takemaru". Do you know what "Takemaru" really means? Ryoga Godai (talk) 03:23, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
- Perhaps! Although I'll be pretty busy in the next while, so it may have to be in a couple months or so.
- Takemaru literally means 'fierce circle' or something, but it's a name. It doesn't have to have much meaning! The unwritten 'no' in his name gives a traditional Heian-feeling, and the -maru makes it sound grand, like a ship or something, I suppose. I'm not exactly a native speaker though! --Prosperosity (talk) 14:30, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- Me too, my college starts next week and I'll be pretty busy the next few months, atleast till December.
- Thanks for explaining so much about Takemaru! I've been told before that it doesn't need to have an exact meaning. I guess I should drop my search, lol. Wow, you're not a native speaker! That's hard to believe considering your level of your Japanese! :O Ryoga Godai (talk) 08:11, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
- It's like trying to translate "Muriel" or "Dennis." It's not important, only the associations and feel of the name is!
- Lol, my Japanese is still awful. --Prosperosity (talk) 09:04, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- I think it's really good. Atleast you know how to read the characters!
- Have the users posted pictures and videos on their Flickr? If they have, it would become much easier for me to request them. I could send them requests through Youtube too. I've been searching for a good picture of her to use in the main page. Ryoga Godai (talk) 08:39, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
- Not that I know of! They've mostly just posted the videos, but some of the frames of the videos have fairly good shots in them at HQ! I'm sure somebody would be willing to release some of the shots.
- Ugh, I know! That picture is from almost 10 years ago, now! --Prosperosity (talk) 08:46, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, I will definitely mail a few of them :) Hey, it may be an old picture but she looks so cute! :D Btw, can you suggest some good J-pop songs? You can just mail them to me :) Also, I don't know if you live in Japan but, is Namie big there? Ryoga Godai (talk) 08:49, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
- I don't have an authenticated email addess with my Wiki account, apparently, and can't mail!
- Yeah, she's extremely popular. If I go uptown, I'll see a poster/promotional thing for her at least once, lol. --Prosperosity (talk) 12:51, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

Comic chart
Hi Prosperosity :) Back when I was editing Jessica Simpson articles, you gave me a link to the weekly chart archives, remember? We have to enter the year, month and week and it'd give the positions and sales. Well, is there any such archive for the Oricon comics chart? Ryoga Godai (talk) 11:51, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- The comic chart is something that barely exists! They post like, a top 20, but they don't even archive the thing! There's no way of even searching the releases in the Oricon database, lol.--Prosperosity (talk) 16:17, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- Aaah man! Did it rank the comics back in 2000? Btw, I had asked a few youtube users for some Namie pictures and got one reply. This link has a few pictures (I can't view them 'coz I don't have an FB profile). He said there are not HQ though. Select the ones you like and let me know and I'll ask him to add a comment or something saying they're Creative Commons :) Ryoga Godai (talk) 03:51, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
- I think so, but I have no way of telling since they don't archive the thing! Ugh!
- Oh, awesome! I like the look of 4/13! After it's uploaded, I could retouch the lighting a little. Thanks soo much! --Prosperosity (talk) 06:21, 22 July 2012 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Utada InthefleshNewYork2010.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Utada InthefleshNewYork2010.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (t • c) 02:11, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

Help please
Hi Prosperosity. Hope you're doing well. Can you do me a favour? Can you check Oricon and tell me the entry and exit positions of Charmbracelet Tour Edition by Mariah Carey (チャームブレスレット・ツアー・エディション)? Also, the entry and exit dates, if possible. Btw, did Oricon take out the free search from their website? 五代 (talk) 03:32, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- Here you go:
- Release: 2003/06/30
- Total: 4,936
- Top 300 weeks: 3
- Top position: 96
- Week/position
- 2003/07/21 195
- 2003/07/14 96
- 2003/07/07 177
- And yes, they did! They're still all accessable at oricon.co.jp up the top right hand corner, though. And sometimes more detailed! --Prosperosity (talk) 06:56, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks Prosper. About the search thing, can you give me a direct link? And, can I view the peak positions and sales of albums and singles in that? Even of those below 100 positions? Lastly, how can you subscribe to Oricon? How much does it cost, per month? Is it only available to those who live in Japan?
- There's one more thing I wanna ask you. Have you heard of Kimagure Orange Road series? Well, I'm planning to expand the article and while searching for some useable information, I found out that Toru Furuya, the lead character's seiyuu released an autobiography in 2009 which has some information and his thoughts on the series. So, I asked a Japanese Wikipedia user (who has the book) if they could help me by adding the text to my sandbox but they never replied and it's been two weeks! I was wondering if you knew someone who has the book. It would be really useful. Lol, I even posted a request on the Resource Request :D 五代 (talk) 11:03, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- Here. You search for the artist, then go to the release list (作品), then it'll tell you the highest position (過去最高) and the weeks in the top 300 (albums) or 200 (singles) (登場回数).
- Nope! Surprisingly, they let anyone with a credit card sign up, as long as you can fill out the form. It's here, and it's 1,000 yen per month. The only English on the site is the message saying that there'll be no English.
- Hmm, your only option really would be to buy the book on Amazon.co.jp, or wherever you can find it, even though having a hard copy Japanese text is just annoying. Buying a book and uploading/translating/scanning passages doesn't sound something that many Japanese people would like to do (especially obscure-ish Gundam memorabilia, because then its perceived worth would be lowered). Even if you had the book, it would be kinda hard to get people to translate the scanned pages into English, sorry! --Prosperosity (talk) 12:46, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks! The release page, I see. Too bad it doesn't show the trajectory and sales.
- Really? I didn't know about the book scanning thing. If I had known that earlier, I would've not asked him! I found another source, anyway but it is not as detailed as the book. I guess I'll have to use that instead :( Thanks Prosperosity, for everything you've done for me. Hey, did you listen to "Damage"? What are your favourites Namie Amuro, pre-Past<Future? 五代 (talk) 16:21, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- I'm pretty partial to Never End, I suppose! I recently re-discovered Uh Uh after friend sung it at karaoke. --Prosperosity (talk)
- Never End is a good song. I love almost all of her songs, and if I had to choose one from them, it'd be "I Have Never Seen" :) Great melody but her voice does sound a little strained at places :( 五代 (talk) 10:40, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi again. Can you tell me the sales and monthly chart position of Mai Kuraki's single "Kiss"? 五代 (talk) 07:05, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
- Monthly? I dunno if monthly data is stored, it's only weekly and yearly.
- Total sales 112,092
- Top 200 charting weeks 9
- Top position 3
- First week sales 71,338
- 2003/07/07 199
- 2003/06/30 164
- 2003/06/23 122
- 2003/06/16 63
- 2003/06/09 42
- 2003/06/02 46
- 2003/05/26 16
- 2003/05/19 9
- 2003/05/12 3 --Prosperosity (talk) 12:23, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:JYJthebeginningrerelease.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:JYJthebeginningrerelease.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. Akina Nakamori Oricon
Hey Prosperosity! How's it going? Well, I'm planning on creating a discography page for Nakamori. I managed to find out the peak positions of all singles and albums. However, Oricon doesn't have them listed :( I know I can source the Oricon Chart Book, which is used in the Japanese articles of her songs, but do you have a link to any articles published by Oricon, listing Nakamori's sales/peak positions? Like they did with B'z? Also, if you have time, can you tell me if the band Picasso's singles and albums, and Meiko Nakahara's singles charted on the Oricon charts? Again, Oricon doesn't have them. 五代 (talk) 13:27, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Diorama (Kenshi Yonezu album) may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Oricon sales - rounding figures
Thanks for the tweak on the 2NE1 discography. I expanded on the Japanese sales note, hopefully that makes sense. [18] It'd be great if someone could comment in how they sourced all the figures in the comments section, showing weekly breakdown like "145,624 + 27,402 + 1,302 + 204" -AngusWOOF (talk) 00:55, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
- Oricon posts the total figure for all domestic releases (for the weeks it charted), so on their paid site it lists it in a little profile for each release. The problem comes with imported versions, which they post in the top 200/300 raw data but don't tally up (unless they chuck them onto the sales of something else, like G-Dragon's Coup D'etat). One thing I'm not sure on is if imported versions are getting counted twice (once for Korea, once for Japan)! --Prosperosity (talk) 01:28, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks.
That would be great to have a link to those entries with the subscription required tag if you have access to the data. That's probably as far as we can estimate without just doing the math on the free weekly tables (assuming they're archived properly) or waiting for the final year-end table.I don't know if imports are double counted; it seems like the figures are just for singles/albums sold in Japan. I see imports from American and worldwide singles show up in Japan Hot 100. -AngusWOOF (talk) 02:14, 13 December 2013 (UTC) It looks like that's already been done. Thanks again for updating that. I tweaked the note once again. -AngusWOOF (talk) 02:43, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks.
Need help with Kumi Koda discography figures
- Can you help verify and source the figures for Kumi Koda discography? I'm seeing an editor revert my changes to remove the + from the figures, and claims that those are the exact figures but without any reference to the Oricon database. It also shows figures from physical and digital albums which is rather vague. -AngusWOOF (talk) 20:11, 26 December 2013 (UTC)
- Done! Those are the figures as of last week. It's true that they give "exact" figures, so they're not wrong, but like I said before, it's an imperfect method due to sampling/not releasing data for under #200 or #300 (like how "Birthday Eve" has certainly sold 50,000 copies, but it's not tracked like that.) Also, Oricon seems to track vinyl sales and USB sales as separate from the total, but doesn't list them in the database (their positions will be listed here without sales, though.)
- RIAJ doesn't release digital sales figures, only certifications, so you can be pretty definite in getting rid of those. They do technically release digital album certifications, there's only ever been one, ever.
- Hope that was helpful! --Prosperosity (talk) 23:25, 26 December 2013 (UTC)

Please review You've deleted several categories from album articles (such as this). You may want to review why and how this happened. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 03:37, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
- Most of those are covered by Category:Kumi Koda video albums, and the others are just inaccurate. It's not a cover album at all! 'Live album' doesn't need to be there since the category 'live video albums' exists. --Prosperosity (talk) 10:31, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
Kokiainconcert.jpg
Hi, while I have been cleaning up file descriptions on Wikimedia Commons, I encountered commons:File:Kokiainconcert.jpg, which was originally uploaded by you (according to the record written there). The file has become used by a number of articles in different languages, so it is important to be perfectly clear about its copyright status. The file page says 'Received permission after explaining the licences. "No problem. You can use my photo for the Wikipedia articles if you credit me."', but with no OTRS ticket attached. Could you please forward a permission statement written by the copyright holder to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org, if you have any? Nowadays, Commons requires permission statements to be stored in commons:COM:OTRS, a centralized email response system and archive, in order to reduce risk of copyright infringements. Even better, it would be invaluable if you could ask the copyright holder to fill in a recommended format, commons:Commons:Email templates, and send it to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org. Thank you for your cooperation, --Whym (talk) 13:12, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Hmm, I don't seem to have an email archive of the conversation, so it must have been on my lost Flickr account. I'll attempt to contact the photographer, but I'm not sure if he's still active on there, so it might have to be deleted. --Prosperosity (talk) 08:35, 16 January 2014 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Sx4losangeles.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Sx4losangeles.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 16:31, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

Oricon, again
Hey Prosperosity! Can you help me out again? Oricon has a comic chart, right? [19]. Is there any archive for it? I'm looking for charts pre-2006 (the series I'm looking for is The Law of Ueki which ran from 2002 through 2005). Thanks! ごだい (会話) 11:49, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
- Nope! Nothing other than the weekly music sales are archived on their paid site (and DVD/blu-ray positions on the non-paid site). I don't even know why they have these charts if they're just going to delete all the archives. --Prosperosity (talk) 03:26, 23 April 2014 (UTC)
- That's bad. Since we're accessing a paid archive, they ought to provide comic charts too. It can't hurt them to include it as well, right? ごだい (会話) 11:42, 23 April 2014 (UTC)
Hey! It's me again. Can you do me a (rather big) favor? I'm working on Takako Matsu article this time and can you check Oricon and tell me if her sales figures are correct? Is there any chart position missing from the list? Also, are there any certifications for her albums/singles? Couldn't find any on RIAJ :( ごだい (会話) 12:12, 26 April 2014 (UTC)
- I've been compiling the ones in .pdfs for a couple of months, so you're in luck!
- Gold means 200,000 copies, and platinum means 400,000. There's also a gold digital certification for Let It Go (100,000)[7] I'll have a look at the figures later! --Prosperosity (talk) 12:53, 26 April 2014 (UTC)

- And, one more thing. I read somewhere that she learned to play the piano and took vocal lessons while young. Can you find a source for it? I did find something about piano lessons, nothing about vocals, but I doubt it's reliable. Hope it's okay with you. ごだい (会話) 04:57, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
- You can basically tell from the discography, haha. Kinda in 1998~2001, then she lost popularity, and now she's famous again for playing Elsa.
- [20] How's this? Learnt piano from when she was in kindergarten, and she was really into Seiko Matsuda in elementary school. --Prosperosity (talk) 01:46, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
- Wow, thank you so much. I see, lol. It's really hard to maintain popularity huh? :D ごだい (会話) 03:57, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
- Hey, one more thing I forgot to ask. Does any websites publish information on music videos and their directors? I'm looking for directors of Matsu's videos. ごだい (会話) 04:00, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
- Yup! Some mightn't be listed, but they'll definitely be in the DVD booklets. --Prosperosity (talk) 06:25, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks, again. I hope I didn't cause you trouble of any sort. ごだい (会話) 10:38, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
