Just a quick note to let you know that I've put in a DYK nomination for the above article which you helped to bring to fruition. Thanks again for your help! Ceannlann gorm (talk) 22:56, 30 March 2015 (UTC)

Can you re-insert the comma before the abbreviation? Many have started to oppose WP:JR. --George Ho (talk) 07:18, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
- @George Ho: Done. Philg88 ♦talk 10:33, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
Hello - as at Talk:Martin Luther King Sr., would you please revert your move of that article as well as the other articles posted as technical requests? And would you also treat any other technical requests for comma deletions as controversial? As George Ho noted above, WP:JR is the subject of debate, and should not be considered uncontroversial. Thanks! Dohn joe (talk) 18:05, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Dohn joe and thanks for the message. What I suggest you do is post a list of the articles for which you want the comma version restored at Requested moves: Requests to revert undiscussed moves . I'm happy to query any further requests until the WP:JR issue is resolved. Cheers, Philg88 ♦talk 05:43, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks. I would start by requesting reverts by you of the pages you moved here (I believe that the Martin Luther King, Sr. article has already been reverted). I appreciate the commitment to treat Jr./Sr. comma moves as controversial for now. Dohn joe (talk) 17:44, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Dohn joe: It looks like George Ho has already sorted that list out and moved the articles back to where they were. If you need anything else please let me know. Cheers, Philg88 ♦talk 04:45, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

Hello - I finally returned to this issue, and went through your contribs to find the following. Would you please restore them to their previous versions? I realize it's quite a few, but it would go a long way towards restoring the status quo while the guideline gets sorted out. Thanks. Dohn joe (talk) 16:44, 3 April 2015 (UTC)

Is it right?
Hello Dear Philg88. I seek your advise - if this is right to report openly about the misconduct of some user as I just did on this afd page based on my observations. I dont want to violate someone's rights, if any on any matter. Educationtemple (talk) 05:26, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Educationtemple: Hey there! Although AfD isn't the best place to flag a conflict of interest (use this noticeboard for that), it is germane to the deletion discussion so does no harm. I've tidied up your original posting a bit to make things clearer. Cheers, Philg88 ♦talk 05:39, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

Question?
Dear Philg88, could you please act as independent, impartial Admin (as you always are of course like many other admins here on WP) to reasonably conclude the discussion on this afd? My detailed, firm stand is written here in last comment, that apply to both of these articles. Educationtemple (talk) 13:55, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
- Patience, my friend. The AfD only started two days ago. The rules say it stays open for seven, and I see no exceptional reason for an early close. Cheers, Philg88 ♦talk 16:10, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

you can replace (or rather incorporate) the current content
Hello Philg88. I writing an articles about the german computer pioneer Georg Nees in German [1] and English [2]. This articles are now, maybe, ready. My mentor on de:WP is looking for the last mistakes. I wrote the articel complet new in my one words. I also translated it and some wording in English are different to German. I need nothing to copie from the existing article Georg Nees. I just used the idea about the graphics "Gravel Stones/Schotter" and "Locken'". The name Locken is not used by Nees, somebody invented it years later. The correct name I found via Frieder Nake and in the first book by Nees in 1969. I would like to replace the old article - I think I can nothing from the old article incorporat. I also dit an update of the references and added many more. Beside, some of the old text is not copyright correct.
I am not in a hurry and don't like to do something wrong. My question is: what do I have to do, that all things going correct? Regards- --Maxim Pouska (talk) 18:24, 17 April 2015 (UTC)

- @Maxim Pouska: Thanks. I've done some clean up on your draft, which is on the whole an excellent first article, well done! What you need to do now is to merge your work into the existing article. We don't simply replace articles on en Wikipedia as it is important to maintain the contribution history. If you are unsure how to go about the merge let me know and I will do it for you. - Hello - I am unsure about to do it. I just did look at the article Spillings Hoard, Gotland Museum - to learn more. I don't know all the html code because I just try to learn it in the last three months. If you can do it for me it helps me to learn again. Many thanks --Maxim Pouska (talk) 06:49, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Hello again Maxim Pouska! You have certainly come to the right place for some very good advice, and I agree with Philg88 that the article is very, very good for a newbie article. :) Now just a comment about the code we use here on the WP: It is not strictly html, but rather a code unique to the WP. It takes some time to get used to all the intricacies of I and you don't have to learn it all at once. There is another new editor here who I have taught the beginnings of "code-knowledge" to. If you want to, you can follow the "lessons" and "teachings" that have developed on that user's talk page here. Maybe you can pick up some things there. :) Another very useful page for the code is the Help:Cheatsheet where all the most common code-things are collected, how they are used and what they are called. All the best, w.carter-Talk 18:12, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

Museums are dangerous
I went to the Gotland Museum to get some of the last pictures for the article, and I took a stroll... Now, reading about a treasure is one thing, but getting close up and personal with 67 kilos of Viking treasure is something entirely different! :) Lights, camera, action, and a detour to the library as well. I'm mostly astonished that no one had written about it before. So I did, and got my first double DYK. Not 100% sure I got it right, I could only place the template on one of the articles, but I suppose that's the way it is. Anyway, if you have the time and feel so inclined, could you check the Spillings Hoard for me? Best, w.carter-Talk 22:18, 19 April 2015 (UTC)

Phil got left out
I know you helped, but only W.carter gets a star. :( On the bright side, I will buy you a real life beer instead. :) Now, I am wondering, which is worth more, a real life beer or a virtual barnstar?? This is a deep question. I would guess 2 beers = 1 barnstar. Hmmm, maybe 2 barnstars = 1 beer. Tricky. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 08:01, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Anna Frodesiak: In this case it's a no-brainer: According to any equation, we all owe Phil kegs of beer! w.carter-Talk 08:31, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
- Hang on a sec. We do not know how Phil thinks. Maybe to him, 1 star = .5 of a beer. We are talking about real, tangible beer here. You just try watching a movie with a bag of barbecue chips and a barnstar and see how that works out for you. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 09:05, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
- Being a Brit, I can only trade barnstars on a pint per star basis . Philg88 ♦talk 09:09, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

ANI Closure
I accept your closure and the trouting at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#Possible_canvassing, but I want to ask: so it's okay to post on 100s of article talk pages like that? That seems disruptive at the least. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 16:20, 25 April 2015 (UTC)

Hi, Samma are the Sindi Rajput descendents of Rajput. Why you have reverted , explain?. Why you are preventing to insert the information.--Jogi don (talk) 10:06, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you for your somewhat ill-mannered message. You know perfectly well why I reverted your edit. You have been told by both Sitush and Dr.K. that information must be reliably sourced and verifiable. Adding a seach link to Google books does not satisfy that requirement. Please abide by our policies and guidelines to avoid losing your editing privileges here. Thanks, Philg88 ♦talk 10:14, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
Stadiums
Dear Philg88, I added pages to Wikipedia about large, missing Chinese football stadiums, but I received a warning that they will delete those pages because I didn't add references to those pages. The problem is, I can't add the references they ask for, because then I will get banned. I don't know what to do anymore, some admins demand references, some admins demand I don't use references... What can I do? Worldofstadiums.com is the only site I know with all the information about those Chinese stadiums. Thank you for your response, Groundhopping.
- Hey Groundhopping, thanks for the message. All information on Wikipedia must use references based on reliable sources, which WorldofStadiums isn't. If there are no other sources available then the topic (i.e. stadium) is not notable and shouldn't be in the encyclopedia. Hopefully, that makes it clear but feel free to ask if you're still unsure about this. In a nutshell: No references in reliable sources = No Article. Cheers, Philg88 ♦talk 15:51, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

These are leading news papers of respective nations. You can see our discussion and sources Talk page, Biharis in Bangladesh . He is not even replying on Talk page, though he is online and reporting me elsewhere in charge of hounding. I was got blocked once for edit warring with him because he is very reluctant. Support request with team editing experiment project
Dear tech ambassadors, instead of spamming the Village Pump of each Wikipedia about my tiny project proposal for researching team editing (see here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:IdeaLab/Research_team_editing), I have decided to leave to your own discretion if the matter is relevant enough to inform a wider audience already. I would appreciate if you could appraise if the Wikipedia community you are more familiar with could have interest in testing group editing "on their own grounds" and with their own guidance. In a nutshell: it consists in editing pages as a group instead of as an individual. This social experiment might involve redefining some aspects of the workflow we are all used to, with the hope of creating a more friendly and collaborative environment since editing under a group umbrella creates less social exposure than traditional "individual editing". I send you this message also as a proof that the Inspire Campaign is already gearing up. As said I would appreciate of *you* just a comment on the talk page/endorsement of my project noting your general perception about the idea. Nothing else. Your contribution helps to shape the future! (which I hope it will be very bright, with colors, and Wikipedia everywhere) Regards from User:Micru on meta.
- Hmm ... so you chose to spam user talk pages instead? Philg88 ♦talk 14:01, 30 April 2015 (UTC)
Sensitive
I appreciate what you said about sensitivity at/post the thread at WP:AN/I#User:DD2K aka "Dave Dial"'s Deeds at Talk:Hillary Rodham Clinton/April 2015 move request. Indeed I have to raise my hands to say that I have probably been as sensitive as anyone in the run up to the discussion. Since I proposed my failed RM a short time ago (which was ill advised mainly for its short length not fulfilling requirements and not for lack of quality) I know that I may have interpreted more things as being antagonistic than was represented by the reality but, in the run up to the RM, I certainly interpret dirty tricks on the part of some editors and presentation of loaded interpretations by others. I'm personally appalled at the situation and the rigging of results.
I've put my reaction in discussion section of the RM and see no justification for the behaviour. In the AN/I several editors commented on sanctions that should be followed before one editor said that all should be trouted, 5 editors had said that some level of action should be taken without anyone opposing action altogether. In this case, and while I respect that you took a course of action in good faith, I certainly think that it was disruptive and I think it sends out all the wrong signals. It can tell editors that they can falsify findings with little fear of action being taken.
As for me my actual !Vote in the case has been neutral as justified with an I think significant write up on weighing towards the "Hillary Clinton" side. There is nothing tendentious in my comments here. GregKaye 13:47, 30 April 2015 (UTC)
- Hey Greg, thanks for the message. This isn't about where you stand on the issue or "sending out signals", the close preventing a discussion descending into mayhem and mud slinging, which is not good for Wikipedia. You've stated your case at the RM, as have others, and once the process has run its course, the closing admin will no doubt take into account the behavior and actions of the !voters in deciding the close. Cheers, Philg88 ♦talk 13:58, 30 April 2015 (UTC)
- lol May I propose the fish caked in the mud with a healthy application of positive flaming and everything will be fine. The !vote and threads started by DD have not added to clarity but, I guess in situations like this, such is life. GregKaye 14:09, 30 April 2015 (UTC).
Your common.css page
Hi; I notice that in User:Philg88/common.css you have the CSS rule
.ambox-Orphan{display: inherit !important;}
- please note that there is an error in this (almost certainly copied from an old version of Template:Orphan#Visibility) which causes incorrect display in some browsers.
To check this, visit this page and look at the second bullet (the one that precedes the text "This article is an orphan ..."). If this bullet is not in the same alignment as the other four, but displaced to the left, you can fix it by altering inherit
to table
in the CSS rule mentioned earlier. If that doesn't work either, alter it to block
.
Template:Orphan#Visibility has been amended. --Redrose64 (talk) 19:37, 1 May 2015 (UTC)

But I really believe that you shouldn't have blocked Premthanjavur (talk · contribs), yes he violated 3-rr but he was not alone to do that, this edit is not a copyvio, BLPvio, or vandalism, thus reverting this edit was not exempted from WP:3RR. I think that you should unblock him and protect the page instead since 2 editors[4][5] did disagreed with him anyway. I have seen that edit warring was accross multiple articles, but it was between these 2 editors at most. Maybe a warning would suffice. Thank you. - Hi OccultZone and thanks for the message. I blocked Premthanjavur for disruptive editing across multiple articles. Sitush has tried to explain what is problematic about this editor's contributions but the message hasn't got through. I'm not inclined to unblock, particularly as this only has 24 hours to run. Cheers, Philg88 ♦talk 10:30, 4 May 2015 (UTC).
- Yes those edits were disruptive. Only thing we can do is wait for the unblock request, although I doubt since he has never used the talk page before. OccultZone (Talk • Contributions • Log) 10:33, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
- OccultZone, this has been going on for months, if not years. I wasn't aware of the block until the ping above but I am far from being the only person who has tried to explain the situation. There are even warnings from others on their talk page. 24 hours is not long, although I'm not hopeful that it will make much difference because they are in pretty serious SPA mode and they have not just been reverting me. - Sitush (talk) 10:37, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
- You might also want to see Talk:Sambuvaraya. Their entire case is predicated on their understanding of what Karashima says. - Sitush (talk) 10:40, 4 May 2015 (UTC)

- @Amalsemilon: The reason I reverted your edit was because it was poorly written. Editing Wikipedia requires a level of competence in the English language. If you intend to add something to an article that isn't coherently written or properly formatted then please don't. I have cleaned up your edits to the article and you should also note that Facebook is not a reliable source and cannot be used as a reference. Philg88 ♦talk 11:32, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

How shall I add details to wikipedia without a level of competence in English? Please reply whether below one is a valid reference or not.

- I already added that reference to the article in the "References" section - if you look at that you will see the correct format. Philg88 ♦talk 16:04, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
thank you
@Philg88.I am really feel happy because your monitoring my edits.i remember one says, "A friend in need is a friend indeed".thank you Eshwar.omTalk tome 06:11, 9 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Eshwar.om: If that was an attempt at humour I'm afraid it failed. As I said on your talk page, continued disregard for Wikipedia's policies and guidelines will result in a block. Philg88 ♦talk 07:10, 9 May 2015 (UTC)
