Hello! Your submission of Philip Hugh-Jones at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Nizil (talk) 05:59, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
George Hyde Pownall
You create the article on George Hyde Pownall who lived 1866 – 24 January 1939. There's a Wikidata item of a person with the same name who lived from 1876-1932 which is also linked to authority references like viaf. Do you know whether those are two different people? If not are you sure about birth or death date? ChristianKl ❪✉❫ 15:55, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- They are the same person. Those other dates have been shown to be incorrect by new research that is in the current version of the article from La Trobe Journal. Philafrenzy (talk) 16:08, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks Phil. The wikidata items have been merged, and I'll fiddle with DoB & DoD dates to reflect La Trobe as authoritative. --Tagishsimon (talk) 16:42, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Geoffrey Victor Price Chamberlain.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Geoffrey Victor Price Chamberlain.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 03:29, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
Since you created this, you might want to check WP:JWG for how to expand the article. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 06:40, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

The article Journal of Surgical Case Reports has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable journal. Not indexed in any selective database: not in Scopus, MEDLINE, or any Clarivate Analytics database (except the not very selective Emerging Sources Citation Index). Does not meet WP:NJournals or WP:GNG.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Randykitty (talk) 15:46, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Will you be interested in List of Cambridge University Press book series? To show its notability there ought to be more articles on individual series and public domain books/series needs to go to Wikisource. Solomon7968 03:51, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
- Yes I am very interested in book series, thank you for doing this. If you write the articles the best commentary on the series tends to be in the reviews of the individual volumes in academic journals.
- I have indicated how I would format the list. Not sure why they think the Cambridge History of South Africa is a series though. Philafrenzy (talk) 06:29, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
- P.S. Here's one I did: Seminar Studies in History. It needed a separate list of the titles. You could spend the rest of your life doing those if you did the authors too. Philafrenzy (talk) 06:33, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
- I don't think we should be doing the authors; others may do but I won't waste any time on it. Randykitty (see my talk page) has objections to just creating a soup of red links and what he says is indeed true. Not all the series published by CUP is notable, what I would like is that Wikipedia has an article on every topic for which CUP has launched a series. For now this series needs to have high quality citations. Solomon7968 10:16, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
- I agree not all the series are notable, but I suspect it is more than you may think, particularly for CUP. As for the red links, if they were all red-linked how many would have articles in 1/5/10 year's time compared to none being red-linked? We will never know. There's this. Philafrenzy (talk) 10:34, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
- I see that you have delinked all; there is no need to do that. I would have selectively delinked. Solomon7968 10:38, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
- Please go right ahead and revert me if you wish. I was just demonstrating what it would look like. You didn't format or link any of them originally. I have no idea which are notable or not at present. Philafrenzy (talk) 10:43, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
- I don't have access to JSTOR or any other resource at this moment to demonstrate their notability. So if you wish you can proceed as you do before and then we can delink after the task is completed. It is far too much work for me alone to do this. The best way to judge notability seems case by case creating few and delinking few for every topic, say anthropology. Solomon7968 10:51, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
- I also don't have full JSTOR. I can tell you from experience that book series are difficult subjects to research (Seminar Studies in History took a long time) because the detailed discussion of them as a series that is needed to show their notability separately from the authors and individual volumes, tends to be buried in reviews of new volumes in academic journals meaning you have to consult a lot of sources to compile the article. I will try to do some of the history ones as that is my main field. Philafrenzy (talk) 11:00, 29 January 2019 (UTC)

DYK for Stephen Godin
On 12 February 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Stephen Godin, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Stephen Godin was a steward of penitent prostitutes? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Stephen Godin. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Stephen Godin), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Infobox
Hi..Not sure whether to ask you or @Redrose64:. If a medical person is also a significant other eg footballer, author or painter....how do I add to infobox. eg David Owen who is a politician and medical person. Whispyhistory (talk) 20:23, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
- I think you use the most appropriate one. For Owen it is politician. But you can expand infobox person with modules: Wikipedia:WikiProject Infoboxes/embed listed here. Philafrenzy (talk) 20:44, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
- Ok...I'll look and see if I can figure out. Thanks as always. Whispyhistory (talk) 20:58, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
- Wikipedia, the encyclopaedia anyone can edit - as long as they have a degree in computer science. Philafrenzy (talk) 21:00, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
- Oh..I'm in need of help then...No computer science degree and very poor in English...I'll stick to medicine...have a few more transplant surgeons on way. Thank you kindly again. Whispyhistory (talk) 21:07, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
- Your English is very good. I am still learning new things about the language every day. Philafrenzy (talk) 21:23, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
- See for example Sebastian Coe, who made his name as an athlete but later went into politics. Here, we have which is one infobox inside another -
{{Infobox politician |honorific-prefix = [[The Right Honourable]] |name = The Lord Coe ... other parameters pertaining to {{Infobox politician}} ... | module = {{Infobox sportsperson | embed = yes ... parameters pertaining to {{Infobox sportsperson}} ... }} }}
{{Infobox sportsperson}}
inside{{Infobox politician}}
. For David Owen, you can do the same sort of thing, provided that all three of these are true:- the
{{infobox officeholder}}
template supports the|module=
parameter - the infobox that you wish to embed supports the
|embed=yes
parameter or an equivalent - There is consensus for this at Talk:David Owen.
- the
- Of these, 1 is definitely true; and assuming that you wish to use
{{infobox medical person}}
, 2 is sort-of true - you need to use|child=yes
instead of|embed=yes
; but 3 is not true (there are no discussions about infoboxes there), so I would start a discussion there before adding an embedded infobox. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 12:39, 14 February 2019 (UTC)

An article you recently created, Arnold Dohmen, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. - sorry, just saw this last question...Yes, I do, strangely. Can't see anyone of interest in there but will look again. Another query, ...in the list of surgeons in the finger assisted nephrectomy painting, which ones are notable for own article or are they all notable just for being in the painting?Whispyhistory (talk) 08:23, 24 February 2019 (UTC)
- Good word "Nabob". Very clickable. Nobody is notable just for being in a painting, but that fact and a few lines about their participation certainly helps to support the existence of an article. I would think that most of them are notable if you can find the sources. Do you have any spare reviews available? I have two that need them. Philafrenzy (talk) 08:30, 24 February 2019 (UTC)
Nabobs
- This is an example Richard Smith (East India Company officer). There are many. There is no category of nabobs. I found a potential "John Foote" (unable the send link). You could search it and see if appropriate. Whispyhistory (talk) 08:42, 24 February 2019 (UTC)
