[edit]Hello, I'm Girth Summit. I noticed that in this edit to Cindy Alexander, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. GirthSummit (blether) 19:19, 10 November 2018 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Pennyframstad. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 04:11, 4 December 2018 (UTC)
Richard Furch moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Richard Furch, does not appear to be written from a neutral point of view, and cannot remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.

@Bradv: Thank you for your feedback. I have deleted a couple of sections, product endorsements, and teaching and mentoring as their cite references contain material that is promotional. I would like to resubmit it but would appreciate you looking at my draft and advise me if it is enough editing to do that. Appreciate your assistance. @Bradv:
Hello Bradv, just wanted to make sure received my response to your message to me about placing my article for Richard Furch in the draftbox. Can you check out my edits and see if it is ready to be submitted again. Thank you so much, Pennyframstad (talk) 04:18, 18 December 2018 (UTC)pennyframstad
- Hi Pennyframstad, thanks for the ping. I did a brief review through the sources of that article, but there are an awful lot and it's hard to tell which ones I should be checking to establish whether or not the subject is notable. Can you identify 2 or 3 sources that you would say are the best? A good source is reliable, and independent of the subject. Bradv🍁 04:25, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
@Bradv:
Here are a couple of cite references that are of notable importance. I can send you more if these are not sufficient. Thanks again for your assistance! I really appreciate your time and expertise. 1. | 2005 || Usher "Confessions" || Best Contemporary R&B Album || style="background: #9EFF9E; color: #000; vertical-align: middle; text-align: center; " class="yes table-yes2 notheme"|Won[1]
| Usher || Confessions || Arista Records || Mixing || 2004[2]
2. | 2007 || Chaka Khan "Funk This" || Best R&B Album || style="background: #9EFF9E; color: #000; vertical-align: middle; text-align: center; " class="yes table-yes2 notheme"|Won[3]
3. [4]
Pennyframstad (talk) 04:58, 18 December 2018 (UTC)pennyframstad
- The first three of those sources don't even mention the subject of the article. The fourth one provides some information, but it's not a reliable source as they're using the article to promote one of their own products. Is there anything in the way of books or newspaper articles written about Furch? Anything that covers the subject in-depth, not just passing mention. Bradv🍁 05:03, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
Richard Furch has mixed and engineered several albums that have won Grammy Awards. If I can provide sufficient and more accurate cite references would that suffice for notability? I am still researching more references but would his grammy award winning projects be enough for now? And, my apologies for not sending better links.

Pennyframstad/sandbox2 moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Pennyframstad/sandbox2, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It is also not clear who the subject of the BLP is (Pennyframstad, Noelle Michelle, Madonna ?). When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Britishfinance (talk) 22:46, 12 January 2019 (UTC) Britishfinance I am creating another Wikipedia article in my main sandbox and I was advised that if I wanted to start another sandbox that I could go to my user name and add sandbox2 to create another article. I copied and pasted an infobox for Noelle Hampton's information and left Madonna's photo there as a placeholder. The cite references you listed in this message are for a draftspace article for Richard Furch. I was not going to submit Noelle Hampton's article until I had more content and cite references. Was I mistaken in that I can use a sandbox to work on an article before submitting? Thank you for your assistance, Pennyframstad (talk) 02:30, 13 January 2019 (UTC)pennyframstad
Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Replaceable fair use File:This is a photograph of Kim Bullard performing with Elton John in Brazil.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:This is a photograph of Kim Bullard performing with Elton John in Brazil.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 16:09, 30 January 2019 (UTC)

File:Young Catherine Stargate Film 1994.jpg listed for discussion
[edit]A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Young Catherine Stargate Film 1994.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for discussion. Please see the discussion to see why it has been listed (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry). Feel free to add your opinion on the matter below the nomination. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Thunder Alley ABC.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Thunder Alley ABC.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Whpq (talk) 16:39, 30 January 2019 (UTC)

Non-free images
[edit]Hi,
You've uploaded several non-free images, and I wanted to provide a bit more information about non-free content and why I nominated them for deletion. The usage of non-free images on Wikipedia is very restrictive and must adhere to the non-free content guidelines. Their usage must meet all of the criteria outlined in the non-free content criteria. There are some key ones to be aware of that might get an image nominated for deletion.
point 1 (no free equivalent) is one which is often misinterpreted by editors unfamiliar with non-free content. It's not just that a free image cannot be found, but it must also be the case that once cannot expect to create one. This is particularly applicable to photos of living people as somebody could create a free photo of the person even if there isn't one now. The guidelines even state this explicitly "Non-free content should not be used when a freely licensed file that serves the same purpose can reasonably be expected to be uploaded, as is the case for almost all portraits of living people." File:This is a photograph of Kim Bullard performing with Elton John in Brazil.jpg is likely to be deleted as failing to satisfy this point.
respect for commercial opportunities. Images from commercial photo agencies are not acceptable due to this criteria. Commercial photo agencies earn their money from their photo library and usage of such images on Wikipedia is considered to fail on this point unless the image itself is the subject. In fact, it is subject to speedy deletion. See WP:F7. File:Thunder Alley ABC.jpg was sourced from Alamay.com which is a commercial photo agency and the photo was deleted for this reason.
contextual significance. This is probably the trickiest one. The expectation is that the photo must contribute significantly to the reader's understanding of the article. This usually means that the photo itself needs to have some significant sourced commentary about it and how it relates to the article subject. That is why I nominated File:Young Catherine Stargate Film 1994.jpg. We can understand that the actor played a certain role in Stargate through the text. The use of the image, although nice, does not significantly increase our understanding of the fact that she got that role.
Non-free content rules, and copyrights can get very confusing on Wikipedia. If you have questions, a good resource is Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 19:04, 30 January 2019 (UTC)

- I only see the addition of one reference, a Marin Independent Journal article. - The first two, maybe, though I have reservations since they're from a local paper (albeit with a healthy circulation). The third is basically an interview, and there's not a lot you can take away from that. The fourth is not a reliable source by any means. Clarityfiend (talk) 06:46, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
Clarityfiend here are several more articles focusing on Noelle Hampton as the front woman for the band, The Belle sounds. Noelle and her husband Andre Moran are the founders and permanent members of the band, the other musicians are interchangeable session players.

Linda Wolf
[edit]Hi. Regarding this edit to Linda Wolf... Thank you for your contribution. However if you are going to make a lot of changes to an article then please do so one logical piece at a time, rather than all at once. This way others who are following along, who are checking your work, can take on board the changes. Otherwise it is too much to decipher. With that edit, your lead section has a way too long opening line; and tries to indicate the subject's notability by those whose work has been published in the same books. This is not how we describe the summary of someone's life. It feels as though you are trying too hard to make a case for their notability. Your new lead section does not give me confidence that the rest of your many changes are going to have a neutral, encyclopedic tone. This is why I reverted your edits. -Lopifalko (talk) 19:35, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
- Lopifalko Thank you so much for clarifying. I will make the adjustments to the opening paragraph and edit according to your suggestions. Cheers, Pennyframstad (talk) 01:19, 27 June 2019 (UTC)pennyframstad

Are you a paid editor with a conflict of interest?
[edit] As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Pennyframstad, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Pennyframstad|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Speedy deletion nomination of Matt B
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Matt B requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.owlapps.net/owlapps_apps/articles?id=67825171&lang=en. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
Sonofstar (talk) 22:50, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
I will most certainly re-write any content that was copied and pasted. I believe the quote is the one in which you are referencing.

Professor Louie moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Professor Louie, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) [edit]Hello Pennyframstad. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Pennyframstad. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Pennyframstad|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. PRAXIDICAE💕 17:55, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
Dear PRAXIDICAE💕
I am not a paid Wikipedia editor. I am retired musician and music teacher and thoroughly enjoy creating and editing articles as a hobby and as a way to share information on subjects who might not otherwise have an article created, even they meet Wikipedia's notability requirements. I do deep internet and old newspaper/magazine article research on subjects and pride myself on being somewhat of a music industry, literary, and encyclopedic historian.
I see that MPT Agency has moved to a draft space requesting more citations for the content which I created, which I am happy to do. When I have added more citations I will resubmit.
I appreciate the integrity of Wikipedia and thank you for your feedback.
Best Pennyframstad (talk) 19:28, 19 May 2022 (UTC)pennyframstad
- So perhaps you can explain how single use accounts happen to upload photos of their "own work" the same day you create articles about those subjects? PRAXIDICAE💕 19:31, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
PRAXIDICAE💕 I don't always add photos to articles that I have just created. Sometimes it takes a while to find the find the person who took the photo. And the people who took the photos aren't usually professional photographers either. They are individuals who took a photo of the subject at an event or public gathering. And, I've never found professional photographer who has a Wikimedia Commons account and they aren't even aware of the site until I mention it to them and request for them to license the photo for use. They are usually flattered that I want to use their photo for a Wikipedia infobox because they get photo credit for it. To find photos I do deep dig searches and find them on websites, social media, online articles, and other peoples sites until I find the actual photographer. It's quite a task. I hope this clears up your concern. Pennyframstad (talk) 20:10, 19 May 2022 (UTC)pennyframstad

Speedy deletion nomination of Pennyframstad/sandbox49

~StyyxTalk? thank you so much!!! Pennyframstad (talk) 18:35, 13 June 2022 (UTC)pennyframstad
I have tagged the talk page you just created for deletion (don't create a talk page for a deleted page). But I'll answer your questions here:
- To create a user page - include a sandbox, you need the prefix User at the beginning of the page.
- You attempted to create a sandbox user page for User:Pennyframstad/sandbox49, but you instead created it as Pennyframstad/sandbox49. This means an article was created instead of a user sandbox page.
- Normally, you or another editor could move it to User:Pennyframstad/sandbox49. But that sandbox had previously been created for you. So I tagged it for deletion as a test page (unless you decided to move the page somewhere else).
- Styyx moved the page for you to User:Pennyframstad/sandbox28 as that page did not exist. You can now edit it there.
- You then created a talk page at the now non-existant page of Pennyframstad/sandbox49, which I have tagged for deletion.
In the future, make sure you use the prefix User when created sandboxes in your user space. Singularity42 (talk) 18:29, 13 June 2022 (UTC)

If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. talk I responded to the contest speedy deletion page and am unclear what I am doing on my end that has resulted sandbox49 being nominated for speedy deletion. I have created a couple of others album pages that were successful. Please clarify.
Thank you Pennyframstad (talk) 18:22, 13 June 2022 (UTC)pennyframstad
- I think you intended to make the page "User:Pennyframstad/sandbox49", but accidentally made the page "Pennyframstad/sandbox49" in mainspace. The article content (I presume) is fine. Snowmanonahoe (talk) 18:24, 13 June 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Album cover of "Symphony of Sinners & Saints" features angel with wings holding cello with flames.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Album cover of "Symphony of Sinners & Saints" features angel with wings holding cello with flames.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused duplicate or lower-quality copy of another file on Wikipedia having the same file format, and all inward links have been updated.
--Minorax«¦talk¦» 04:04, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
I previously uploaded this image but it didn't give me the file information to add it to the Wikipedia article so I uploaded it again and it finally gave me the file information. I must have made an error on the first upload. Can the other image be deleted rather than this one? I can't locate it to delete it myself.
Thanks so much Pennyframstad (talk) 04:43, 8 August 2022 (UTC)pennyframstad
- Both are the same image though. Same size, same quality. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 04:50, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
Minorax
I can't locate the duplicate upload. Can you direct me there or send me a link to it? Or can you delete it? My concern is that the first upload didn't have the file information to add to the Wikipedia article and that's why I uploaded it again.
Thank you so much for your assistance Pennyframstad (talk) 04:59, 8 August 2022 (UTC)pennyframstad

Minorax«¦talk Do I just go into to edit mode on the page and delete it? Pennyframstad (talk) 05:16, 8 August 2022 (UTC)pennyframstad
- I have no idea what you're asking. Like I've said, both files are the same and File:Symphony of Sinner & Saints album cover angel kneeling with cello in flames.jpg has enough information for it to not be deleted unless it gets removed from the article. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 05:18, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
Minorax My apologies for not being more clear. I was referencing this notification that stated that one of the images needed to be deleted due to a duplication issue. Is it ok to leave both as they are or does one of them need to be deleted?

An article you recently created, Jay King, is not suitable as written to remain published.
AngusW🐶🐶F I made the changes that you suggested and removed any language that could be perceived as promotional, removed the billboard chart, renamed the discographies, removed major labels from the infobox, and pared down the Club Nouveau section to a few sentences. [edit]Hi Landplane123! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Response to Possible Vandalism on my Wikipedia Article
[edit]Hi Landplane123, I was made aware by Bradv that my page might have been subjected to vandalism. I see that you made some recent edits on my article and was wondering if you received any notifications about this. Please let me know as I was informed that my page could be in danger of being deleted.
Thank you for your immediate response Kwakeley (talk) 19:57, 11 February 2023 (UTC) Kwakeley
Kwakeley I created your Wikipedia article and removed some content as there was a notification that there was too much personal information that might be of interest to only a small audience. Perhaps this happened because I recently changed my username to Landplane123 from pennyframstad as I did not want to be using my personal name for Wikipedia edits. I will contact Bradv directly to get to the bottom of this. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Hi Bradv,
Kwakeley reached out to me letting me know that he received a notification about possible vandalism to his Wikipedia article. I created Kitt's article and check on my edits frequently and saw a notification on his page that there was personal information that might only be of interest to a small audience so I removed a section from his page that elaborated on his adoption story and his sister finding him recently.
I recently changed my username to Landplane123 from pennyframstad as I did not want to be using my personal name for Wikipedia edits. Perhaps this might be the reason and you couldn't see my editing history? That is the only content that I planned on removing and will only be making additions from here on out.
Please let me know that you received this so I can move forward with adding content to Kitt's page.
Thank you so much, Landplane123 (talk) 20:36, 11 February 2023 (UTC)Landplane123

Hello Oaktree b,
I understand your concerns about the legitimacy of creating an article for a mastering engineer. That's why I researched other mastering engineer's articles before creating Colin Leonard's. Here are some examples of several other mastering engineer's articles.
Here are a few examples that I checked out beforehand:

Basic style problems
[edit]You've been editing Wikipedia for I'm guessing eight years under various user names,[5] and your writing is still low quality after all this time. The recent discussion at Talk:Susanna Hoffs is about your poor writing in general, especially the emphasis on one particular concert, but I was also seeing a lot of basic mistakes that shouldn't be in the encyclopedia at all.
You removed the normal parenthetical statement "(born January 17, 1959)" from the Hoffs bio for no reason.[6]
You substituted italics for song names when they should get single quotes in front and back. One song name didn't even get quotes or italics.
You capitalized "The Bangles" despite the style guideline MOS:THEMUSIC which says to use lower-case "the" for band names in running prose.
You put quoted text in italics, which is wrong.
Please read through Wikipedia:Manual of Style and work on your basics before contributing again. Binksternet (talk) 05:07, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for your feedback, I really appreciate you pointing those things out and correcting them. The reason I put The Bangles is because that's what their Wikipedia article is titled. I will use lower case lettering in future articles.
- Best,
- Landplane123 (talk) 05:46, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Landplane123

Binksternet, I'm wondering if this user has a conflict of interest--I'm going over Jeff Broadbent and Lovari (musician). Drmies (talk) 01:48, 3 January 2024 (UTC)

- I do not receive payments for my contributions on Wikipedia nor do I know Lovari. I just added more citations and content to his page that I hope will clear up your concerns. I am actually embarrassed that I launched his article without adding the proper citations and I can understand how it would appear that I had a relationship with the subject. Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Landplane123. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Lovari (musician), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 01:48, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for your concern but I don't have external relationships with the subjects in my articles. Also, I don't receive payments for my contributions on Wikipedia. I am a retired music teacher and go down various rabbit holes on the internet and when I come across someone who I think is worthy of a page, I create one for them. - Yes, exact quotes do need to go in quote marks, and things such as book titles go in italics. However, your additions tend to put song titles in italics ("lesser works" like songs should be in quotes; "larger works" like album titles take italics), as well as various things like redord labels and organizations being in italics - those don't need any special treatment other than capital letters. The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,
