Hey Paul, Happy New Year, all the best in 2013! Regards, Argolin (talk) 04:44, 1 January 2013 (UTC)

Message about vandalism

Hi Paul,

I'm not sure why I got a message for vandalism. I haven't edited a Wikipedia page since 2007 when I updated the band Kamelot's page.

Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.79.52.152 (talk) 23:32, 4 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Someone editing from your IP address made this edit. I'll take your word for it that it wasn't you. The way to avoid such messages in the future if you edit (or just read!) from the same IP as someone making unconstructive edits is to register an account. See Wikipedia:Why create an account?. Regards, Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 23:40, 4 January 2013 (UTC)

the use of an IP alone to identify a contributor and then threaten to block etc. with claims of vandalism is beyond inappropriate. All ISPs have leased IPs that they then distribute through DHCP type mechanisms. This means IPs are dynamically leased as opposed to statically. Most users, other than businesses etc., that have a specific need receive many IP addresses over time. Whenever the lease expires, a power cycle of your modem, whether POTS, ADSL, or Cable, can result in a newly assigned IP. Further the use of IP address spoofing is also contributing to the issue of anonymity. Even MAC address usage would not be an accurate identifier as those can be spoofed as well. Considering the above user noted a gap of 6 years, it would suggest that what I am stating is factual. Rather than automatically accusing and threatening to block, a message stating "If this message was sent to you in error, please just disregard". A little effort to be polite and less effort in making threats as has be witnessed and experienced does little to foster a healthy contributor community.204.237.25.252 (talk) 06:16, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

Dorian Parker

Just so you know, she actually wasn't the first; there was another woman before her named Marjorie Hamilton. I've switched your reference to support a different sentence in the article and moved the one which confirms Hamilton. Thanks for the assist, though; hopefully we'll be able to salvage this puppy yet. Bearcat (talk) 01:56, 5 January 2013 (UTC)

I guess that's some poor fact-checking at the Globe, as it describes her as Barrie's "first woman mayor". Checking further, I found a letter to the editor from earlier (Feb. 15, 1974; signed George Webb, alderman, city of Kingston) complaining that the Globe had misidentified her in a report, saying the designation rightly belongs to Marjorie Hamilton. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 01:56, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
The irony of "reliable sources"...even they make mistakes sometimes too! Bearcat (talk) 01:58, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
Indeed! Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 02:02, 5 January 2013 (UTC)

Dragonlance novels

Hi, Paul.

Does your database have any reviews for the novels Prisoner of Haven‎ or Dark Thane? If you do, and if the reviews are also online, I would be glad to add them to the articles myself like last time.  :) I suspect that the other four books in the "Age of Mortals" series are going to come under similar scrutiny before long, so if you don't mind could you also look up Conundrum and The Lioness? Wizard's Conclave and The Lake of Death are also books in the series but we have no articles for them; if you find anything for those two we can find a place for the reviews. BOZ (talk) 04:23, 9 January 2013 (UTC)

I added one to Prisoner of Haven. For Dark Thane, I found just one brief one (not available online): Cadman, Tim (3 April 2002). "Women are on another planet in sci-fi world", The Times, p. Times2 18. I'll add it if you think it is worth reversing the redirect. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 14:36, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
That depends how brief it is. Is it at least a paragraph?
Does the "Prisoner" review have anything good for Dawn of Night? BOZ (talk) 18:02, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
It's a one-sentence paragraph: The next book in Miller Lau's series, Dark Thane (due out in April, Pounds 6.99; offer, Pounds 6.79 plus p&p 99p), is equally readable, even by a jaded cynic like myself, who devoured it in a couple of sittings. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 00:51, 11 January 2013 (UTC)
Wouldn't you know it, there is another book by the same name. Oh well. I don't mean to sidetrack, but when List of Dragonlance artifacts‎ was put up for PROD and then for AFD, I didn't want to bother you about it... but now that it's at DRV, I have a feeling that things are going to get pretty silly. ;) If you don't mind, would you take a look and see if you can find sources for a few of those entries? We dug up a few sources for the Dragonlances - the weapons that gave the setting its name - so that entry is at least OK. I found a little bit about the Disks of Mishakal, and was expecting to find something about the Blue Crystal Staff but didn't see anything yet. As far as the rest, I get the feeling that there might be something for the Bloodstone of Fistandantilus, Dragon Orbs, Graygem of Gargath, Hammer of Kharas, Silver Arm of Ergoth, and Staff of Magius, but I'd expect them to be longshots, and the rest I am not familiar with at all. BOZ (talk) 03:24, 11 January 2013 (UTC)
There's a bit of a mention of the 'legendary blue crystal staff" at that article at The Hindu we've seen before. The Disks of Mishakal seem to have a mention in "Game contains mazes, monsters, combat": The Sunday Patriot-News [Harrisburg, Pa] 3 Dec 1989: F6 but I don't have full-text access to that. I'll look for the others. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 19:08, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
Awesome, thank you. :) BOZ (talk) 04:14, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
I've checked the others and did not have any luck. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 02:30, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
OK, thanks for checking. As for the novels, they have now become part of a mass merge proposal at Talk:List of Dragonlance novels, so I'm not sure what's going to happen with that. Yeesh. I still have a couple of places to search for sources for those. BOZ (talk) 12:48, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
We have had a little bit of luck finding sources, but most of those articles are still unsourced. I figure maybe the best thing to do is to solidify the ones that we do have at least something for; would you mind taking a look to see what you can find for Dragons of the Dwarven Depths, The Dargonesti, Dragons of the Hourglass Mage, The Legend of Huma, and Wanderlust (1991 novel)? BOZ (talk) 05:03, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
I added a couple to Dragons of the Dwarven Depths but couldn't find anything new for the others. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 02:10, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
Wonderful!  :) I am exploring merge options now, starting with Age of Mortals. I know you already checked Dark Thane and Prisoner of Haven, and found a review for the latter, so that is at least one source, but I think we will satisfy the GNG if we get one more; I don't know if you looked at these already, but if you could find something for Conundrum and The Lioness, or Wizard's Conclave and The Lake of Death, that would give me a more solid merge target (or one for the whole Age of Mortals series). BOZ (talk) 15:31, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
I found one for The Lioness but not the others. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 20:33, 19 January 2013 (UTC)
Great, thanks, now we have two reviews for the whole series, so that is GNG worthy. You checked The Dargonesti already, which is one article that we may merge into the Lost Histories. I have a source for Land of the Minotaurs, and we have no articles for The Kagonesti, The Irda, The Gully Dwarves, and The Dragons - if you could find anything for any of those five books, or for the Lost Histories series itself, that would help solidiy this merge as well. I am not planning on doing any other merges with these articles due to general difficulty in finding sources, but given what we have been dealing with lately you never know. BOZ (talk) 21:41, 19 January 2013 (UTC)
Sorry; I found nothing for those. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 01:36, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for checking. BOZ (talk) 13:17, 22 January 2013 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks on the Jerry Brown cleanup. I was checking to see if any residual redirects needed to be addressed, and I see you got to them already. I appreciate you going the extra mile. TJRC (talk) 23:17, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

Sure, happy to help. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 00:06, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

Banksy - oops!

Hi Paul, sorry about the dumb press release, it was proven fake like a minute or two ago. I won't be doing that again without a bunch of actual resources in the future. Thanks for the reversion. NickCochrane (talk) 21:28, 22 February 2013 (UTC)

Okay, thanks Nick. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 21:29, 22 February 2013 (UTC)

You may or may not be aware that the RFC/U on Epeefleche's approach to removing easily and obviously verifiable content has closed. Epeefleche essentially ignored you and I, and refused to respond to the main point of my criticism. The closing admin, also, has gone on to completely ignore your and my perspectives also in taking Epeefleche's side. Yes, there was a roughly two-thirds split against my position (keeping in mind that there was some circumstantial evidence of offwiki canvassing, including that Epeefleche has a background of doing exactly that), but that's not a unanimous enough reason to categorically ignore one side, and then to criticise me. This is an outright endorsement of the strategies and approaches used by Epeefleche's side, i.e., that wikidramamongering is an effective defence against any criticism and to silence opponents.

I no longer care. This is the final nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned regarding the culture at wikipedia. I have retired, primarily due to the admin conduct around the wikidrama of this RFC/U, and do not intend to return. There are other communities around the web that I have found which are far less combative and far less tolerant of dramamongers, and perhaps I'll see you there. ˜danjel [ talk | contribs ] 00:39, 2 March 2013 (UTC)

Mistake...

That estimated dates of 2013 in home video section was so INTRESTING! It would tell people when movies might come out on home video, and now it's gone, but it is there still among with "View History". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.150.85.167 (talk) 01:58, 22 March 2013 (UTC)

D&D people

Hi, Paul!  :)

I was recently looking on LinkedIn and I realized that a lot of current and former artists and writers who worked on D&D have profile pages there. So, I remembered that there were some artists' pages you looked at previously that you couldn't find anything on because the names were too common. I looked and found a number of them on LinkedIn, and I looked at some of the other ones that you couldn't find anything for previously, and they had pages too. I was wondering if you'd be willing to take another look at some of these people? There are about 20-30, I forget the number but I have it written down somewhere. Having more of an idea of projects they have worked on and places they have worked at may help narrow down a search, and also since some of those you may have searched on as far back as 2010, there may be new articles written about them. Would you be willing to help me out with that? Of course, if you don't have a LinkedIn page this wouldn't help, but I figured I would ask since I haven't bugged you with this in a while. :) Hope everything is well with you! 24.12.74.21 (talk) 04:25, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi! Things are good with me; I hope the same of you. :) No, sorry, I do not have LinkedIn. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 14:13, 10 April 2013 (UTC)
OK, thanks. I'm doing pretty good. 24.12.74.21 (talk) 12:13, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

Quinton Hoover

Hey Paul,

Quinton Hoover apparently died over the weekend. I haven't been able to find any RS's to confirm this yet – just a Facebook post from his son, and then everyone sharing it online after that. I don't know if an obit or something has turned up that I haven't just found yet, but I'm going to keep an eye out for it. Meanwhile, do you have any other sources for information about him? BOZ (talk) 18:02, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi BOZ. No, I couldn't find anything. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 00:05, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
Darn. Thanks for checking! BOZ (talk) 14:08, 23 April 2013 (UTC)

Thanks

Hey, thanks for fixing the table format on the Rogue Wave band page. I had no idea what I was doing but I just added their newest single. Much appreciated!

Drow houses

Hey Paul, this is probably a longshot, but could you check to see if you have any sources for either the subjects of House Do'Urden or House Baenre or any of the characters listed on those pages. They are all characters from various Forgotten Realms novels, so they might be mentioned in book reviews, you never know. BOZ (talk) 17:41, 11 May 2013 (UTC)

The only Do'Urden who has any presence in book reviews I can find is Drizzt Do'Urden, so that does not help. There are a few mentions of Jarlaxle, and I found one mention of Liriel Baenre in a book review, added to the article. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 23:04, 11 May 2013 (UTC)
Something is better than nothing - thanks as always. BOZ (talk) 03:31, 12 May 2013 (UTC)

Darlene Pekul

Hi Paul,

I was wondering if you could take a look to see if you had any sources for Darlene Pekul. BOZ (talk) 01:17, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

Nothing in my library's database, but you may have seen this in Google books. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 02:08, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
Thanks Paul - that looks like it might be a great source! Unfortunately, I am having a hard time getting any of the text to show in my browser; are you able to view that? BOZ (talk) 13:49, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

Me

Hey - Sorry about the edit. I'll try to find a source for it....

Richard Divall

Hello,

I am new to wikipedia but am gradually learning. I have created an improved Victoria State Opera page ( the existing page was a sad reflection of such a successful company ) plus am trying to create a page for Richard Divall. the MD of this company. The content below is from the National Library of Australia. May I use it if I cite its provenance?

Thank you

Richard Divall (b. 1945) was born in Sydney and educated at Manly Boys High School and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He later went overseas and studied conducting with Sir Charles Mackerras, Wolfgang Wagner, Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Sir Reginald Goodall. In 1969 he began work as a music producer with the Australian Broadcasting Commission, before embarking on his long career as an opera conductor. He was Music Director of the Queensland Opera (1971), Musical Director of the Victorian State Opera (1972–95) and Principal Resident Conductor of the Australian Opera (1996–2001). He was appointed Associate Professor of Music at the University of Melbourne in 1991 and from 2000 to 2005 he was Senior Associate in the Centre for Australian Music Studies at the University of Melbourne.

Divall is a conductor, composer and a musicologist. He has conducted over 120 operas in many countries. In 1984 he conducted Don Carlos in the opening opera performance at the Melbourne Arts Centre. Throughout his career he has been active in conducting and performing colonial music and his orchestrations include over 40 colonial works and the complete songs of Puccini. He has edited music by Isaac Nathan, Carl Linger, G.W. Marshall-Hall, Henry Handel Richardson, Frederick Septimus Kelly, Fritz Hart and other Australian composers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Londonopera (talkcontribs) 09:14, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi Londonopera, and welcome. There is some advice at Wikipedia:Your first article as well as Wikipedia:Copy-paste, if you have not looked at that already. You need to be sure you are not introducing copyright violations into Wikipedia. Copying the text of other websites, in most cases, would be a copyright violation. The information on the website of the National Library of Australia could be a source of information, but not a source of sentences. It is best to gather multiple references and then write the article in your own words. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 11:40, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

Rob Ford

Paul would you care to try a more civil approach then your threat of blocking over my first edit to wikipedia.

I provided factual information. Was it because I didn't cite the reference below?

Every statement I made is factual as of today's date.

Perhaps you could highlight for me what you feel may have been defamatory, and perhaps that will lead into a educational discussion on slander and libel as methods to defame someone, and what constitutes such actions, and how in my contribution there existed no libel whatsoever.

I am shocked at the hostile nature of your response, and would hope you could correct me on interpreting your statement. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HochMeister (talkcontribs) 05:16, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

Wow I am confused. Paul Erik you are an administrator for english wikipedia, and you treated me in such a fashion rather than suggest a remedy. Please do provide information on what specifically was wrong with my contribution to the Rob Ford article. I referenced a website ad that supports the statement that I have made. Further to date MSM, other than Canada.com has not posted this information. You are not being impartial if you are controlling content to the Rob Ford wiki that doesn't fit the current MSM narrative. Please assist in making this appropriate edit happen so the world can know of the casting call ad which I think is vital to the discussion.204.237.25.252 (talk) 06:09, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

I'm not attempting to control content that fits or does not fit with the mainstream media's narrative; for better or for worse, Wikipedia has a policy of asking for reliable sources to support content added to articles. I used a higher level warning template than we would typically use for new users (it's a pre-written warning not my own words), which is why it came across as needlessly aggressive and made indirect references to slander and libel. I'm sorry about that. As you can imagine, there's been quite a bit of trouble with this article. (TPS: Why is it that when an article's full protection expires, it does not return to its previous level of protection, which in this case was indefinite semi-protection?) Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 11:34, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Moist (U.S. band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Hoponpop69 (talk) 14:06, 7 June 2013 (UTC)

That's okay with me. I didn't write the content of the article; I just moved it over from a disambiguation page (years ago). I've checked and cannot find any relevant sources for it. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 19:01, 7 June 2013 (UTC)

Requested move of Just a Kiss

Hi there. A currently active move request (Just a KissJust a Kiss (song)) will revert an (apparently) unilateral move you made in 2011. I was wondering if you may be interested in weighing in on the discussion at Talk:Just a Kiss#Requested move. Knight of Truth (talk) 22:13, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi Knight of Truth. I appreciate you letting me know. I've replied there. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 17:13, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

AfD close

I noticed that you fixed my AfD close - thank you. (and I'll check to see what I did wrong shortly - fully admitting that I don't do this on a daily basis). If it wouldn't be too much trouble, could you also have a look at this edit to the article talk page to see if I properly noted the situation. Specifically I'm unsure of the action1oldid number, but there may be other issues I'm not aware of. Thanks again Paul. — Ched :  ?  19:35, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi Ched. You're welcome. Thanks for wisely closing that contentious AfD. You made a very common error: looking at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Administrator instructions#Closing the AfD... {{subst:Afd top}} '''RESULT'''. ~~~~ ← Add this line at the very top of the page, with RESULT in bold. ...all you missed was the "very top of the page" instruction.

The oldid number looks fine to me. I was wondering, though, if there was a reason why you did not put it into the {{Article history}} that was already present at the top of the talk page, using action2, action2date, etc. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 19:53, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

To be honest? Because I wasn't sure what I was doing. I was looking at another article which I knew had a "keep" from an AfD, and trying to copy the right things to the right places. I doubt I've ever closed more than 2 or 3 XfD things ever, and I was working on a wing and a prayer. I was also refreshing my talk page half expecting some backlash over it all too. I'll go back and see if I can clean it up shortly. And thanks again. — Ched :  ?  20:21, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
I like the honesty! Cheers. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 20:24, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

Talk:Just a Kiss

Hi Paul

Thanks for doing the disambig page move. Just to let you know that the page Talk:Just a Kiss currently still redirects to the Talk:Just a Kiss (song). Presumably Talk:Just a Kiss (disambiguation) should be moved over the top of Talk:Just a Kiss to keep the page and talk together. Thanks  — Amakuru (talk) 23:20, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

Done. Thanks for your help! Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 23:23, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi, Paul. These were actually already deleted, but I have incubated the articles for "The Walking Dead" actors Markice Moore and Vincent M. Ward. I found what little I could from Google News and Google Books. Could you please help me find some more sources for these guys? Thanks! BOZ (talk) 14:52, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi BOZ. I can find about a dozen sources for Markice, but all that they do is verify he was in ATL, nothing more than that. For Vincent Ward, there's a brief paragraph here, as well as this, not sure if this is a reliable source; and this. Nothing else offline that I can find. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 02:42, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
Cool, I can make use of that. Anything about Moore going to prison before doing TWD... I put some links about that on the talk page, but I don't know if they are RS. BOZ (talk) 04:07, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is certainly an RS. But no, I didn't find anything in my database about Moore and prison. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 04:15, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
OK, thanks, I think those will be useful. BOZ (talk) 11:49, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

Raising the dead

Hi, Paul!

Hope all is well with you. I was wondering if you would help me in revisiting some "dearly departed" biographical articles to see if there is anything that can be done to bring them back. I know that in some of these cases you were previously involved in searching for sources when they came up for AFD, but given that 2-3 years have passed since then I was thinking that a new search could possibly turn up new sources. No rush at all on any of these since of course they aren't in any danger, but if you could take a(nother) look, that would be super helpful.

Deleted: Paul Bonner, Sue Ellen Brown, Geoffrey C. Grabowski, Paul Hume (game designer), Ford Ivey, Kevin Andrew Murphy, Derek Pearcy, S. John Ross (writer), Beth Sotelo, Nene Thomas, Jonathan M. Thompson, and John Zeleznik.

Redirected: Scott Leaton, Chris Wiese, Ken Lightner, Joseph Goodman, Clinton R. Nixon

Also, I found that Steve Marsh was an AFC submission that was not approved. BOZ (talk) 18:05, 19 July 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the help so far, Paul Erik - let me know if you get a chance to look at the others. BOZ (talk) 14:32, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
Will do. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 16:08, 4 August 2013 (UTC)

Thank you tremendously, Paul Erik!  :) Even if we only got about half of these out from limbo, that is still pretty impressive (and better than I had imagined, to be honest).

If I haven't completely worn you out yet, would you be willing to take a look at three more?

I found Jeff Laubenstein while I was poking around in the deleted contributions of the editor who first contributed Paul Bonner. I restored it already since I did have a source to add, but if you had more to add that would help.

I likewise found Vincent Baker while poking around in someone's deleted contributions.

Also, David Morgan-Mar is currently up at AFD. BOZ (talk) 00:32, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

I can't find anything new for Morgan-Mar. I'll look at those others later. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:55, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Great, thanks! Laubenstein is looking better. Anything for Baker? BOZ (talk) 14:23, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
You're welcome! No, nothing for Baker. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 15:45, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
OK, thanks once again - your help is invaluable!  :) BOZ (talk) 16:40, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

I was also able to restore Stewart Wieck from PROD using my new source; would you have any more sources to add to that article, or anything for Meguey Baker or Emily Care Boss? BOZ (talk) 16:14, 12 September 2013 (UTC)

Likewise, I was able to restore Steve Wieck and Justin Achilli to add my new source, so I was wondering if you have anything for them or for Ethan Skemp or Jess Heinig. BOZ (talk) 17:51, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
For Steve Wieck, have you seen this and this? Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 00:48, 16 September 2013 (UTC)
I've added a bit to Achilli, and will make an attempt for Stewart Wieck, but for all the others I was not able to find anything. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 02:12, 16 September 2013 (UTC)
Great, thanks! :) BOZ (talk) 14:41, 16 September 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for your additions to the Wieck brothers.  :) I have been quite busy with my new source! I keep finding deleted game designer articles, some of which I now have good info for. I restored Brennan Taylor and Justin D. Jacobson - do you have any more sources for either of them, or for Lee Hammock and Wilf K. Backhaus? BOZ (talk) 18:01, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
Lee Hammock is at least mentioned here, here, and here. I could not find anything for the other three. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 19:56, 22 September 2013 (UTC)
Great, I was able to restore Lee Hammock, and added some other sources I found as well.  :) BOZ (talk) 15:13, 23 September 2013 (UTC)

Hi, Paul! Still going with this. :) I restored Rick Loomis from speedy deletion, and Howard M. Thompson from redirection; do you have anything you can add to them? BOZ (talk) 23:36, 3 October 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the cite on Loomis; I'm sure Thompson will be hard to find anything for, both because his name is so common and because he has been unheard from for 30 years. I built Adam Scott Glancy from a redirect; would you have any sources for him? BOZ (talk) 15:21, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
No, I had no success for Thompson or Glancy. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:13, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

Hey Paul, I think I will want to restore Jefferson P. Swycaffer and James Mishler next week and turn Clark Peterson into an article - got any sources for them? BOZ (talk) 23:30, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

Swycaffer: There's a mention of him in a Chronicle review (October 2003: vol 25, issue 9, page 45) of the Fred Patten-edited collection, Best in Show: Fifteen Years of Outstanding Furry Fiction, which apparently includes a Swycaffer story. Another Chronicle article (September 2002: vol 24, issue 9, page 10) notes his birthday as September 26, 1956. There appears to be a review (by Jim Hopper) of his book Web of Futures in the San Diego Tribune (22 Feb 1991: page C-3) but I don't have full-text access to that. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 20:23, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
James Mishler: It's too common a name so I tried searching it along with "comics". There are several articles that identify him and quote him, for example, Puget Sound Business Journal and The Seattle Times, but I did not find anything more extensive. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 20:47, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
Clark Peterson: Also too common a name, and combinations with "designer" and with "Necromancer" don't yield any results. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 02:01, 21 October 2013 (UTC)
Thanks!  :) I restored Swycaffer and Mishler; take a look in case there is anything you can do to improve them further. Will probably start Peterson later this week. BOZ (talk) 18:14, 21 October 2013 (UTC)
Also, I restored Denis Loubet today, if you have anything more you can add to him. BOZ (talk) 00:12, 23 October 2013 (UTC)
Also, I restored Phil Masters with my source, but could use more if you have it. Chris Seeman was deleted at AFD; my source discusses him a little, but if you can find anything else that might make it work working on. T. S. Luikart was deleted by PROD, but he is not in my source. BOZ (talk) 00:27, 26 October 2013 (UTC)
Also, I built Jay Tummelson from a redirect, and I can definitely do something with Tom Dalgliesh; let me know if you have anything for them. BOZ (talk) 00:17, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
Sorry, all I could add was one source for Jay Tummelson. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:35, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
No worries - thanks! BOZ (talk) 01:29, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

Hey Paul, I have been busy lately; let me know if you can help me out on any of these. :) Tom Braunlich was an AFD; I brought Roger Sanger back from speedy; I actually built Dave Allsop from a redirect I created a while back; Josh Mosqueira was a single-sentence stub that got redirected; and I built up George Vasilakos after it got redirected as well. BOZ (talk) 01:29, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

I found a little for Mosqueira and Vasilakos. There's also this article from the Bennington Banner. Cheers. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 02:29, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
That's great, thanks! :) Just restored Walter Milliken - got anything for him? BOZ (talk) 00:00, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
I added a little to Milliken. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 21:31, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
Also, got anything for Adam Jury? BOZ (talk) 23:32, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
Nothing for Jury. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 21:06, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
Also, I was able to restore R. Hyrum Savage just now. BOZ (talk) 01:12, 15 November 2013 (UTC)
Nothing for Savage. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 21:08, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

Paul Bonner

Actually, I had no idea! :) I will check that out. I may ask the closing admin (User:Cirt) to userfy this one for me. BOZ (talk) 23:36, 19 July 2013 (UTC)
Cirt is not currently an admin, so wouldn't be able to undelete. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 01:54, 20 July 2013 (UTC)
I'll respectfully defer to the judgment of other admins about this one. — Cirt (talk) 02:49, 20 July 2013 (UTC)
I'll at least take that as not being an objection to userfying. :) Therefore, I have userfied Paul Bonner and Sue Ellen Brown and did a bit of work on each. Paul Erik, would you mind adding the citations you found from your database? Thanks! BOZ (talk) 04:44, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
Sure thing. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 22:16, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
Great, they are both looking much better!  :) Another source or two for each would get them on solid ground maybe, but it's good to see the progress. Thanks! BOZ (talk) 23:19, 22 July 2013 (UTC)

Great news!  :) shortly after stuffing Paul Bonner into the Article Incubator, it was moved back into mainspace! :) BOZ (talk) 00:32, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Sue Ellen Brown

  • The book Winter's Child, which she illustrated, was reviewed in School Library Journal 39.1 (Jan 1993): 88 and in The Booklist 89.7 (Dec 1, 1992): 679 but I don't have full-text access to either of those, to know if there were specific comments about her art work.
  • She is mentioned among other artists (and it notes she is married to artist Don Stewart) contributing to an exhibit at the Aldridge Botanical Gardens in Hoover, in "Heads Up Alabama", Margaret Clevenger The Tuscaloosa News [Tuscaloosa, Ala] 19 Aug 2010. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 23:34, 19 July 2013 (UTC)
I may want to work on that one too then; I will have to have a look over the weekend when I have more free time. BOZ (talk) 23:36, 19 July 2013 (UTC)
That definitely looks useful, good catch! BOZ (talk) 01:41, 20 July 2013 (UTC)

Nothing I could find

... for Geoffrey C. Grabowski, Paul Hume (game designer). Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:24, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for checking. BOZ (talk) 04:42, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
Also nothing for Jonathan M. Thompson although that can be a hard one to search unless he is always credited exactly as that. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 02:36, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
Nothing for Scott Leaton. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 02:53, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
Nothing for Ken Lightner other than a press release. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:10, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
Re Joseph Goodman, "Joseph Goodman" gets thousands of hits—too many to look through; "Joseph Goodman" + "Goodman Games" gets none. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:20, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
Nothing new for Clinton R. Nixon, just the same source I added here. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:25, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
"Steve Marsh" gets thousands of hits. So I tried it in combination with a few of the game credits but did not find anything. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:35, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for checking all of these! I know I was asking for a lot. I forgot that you added a citation to Nixon, so I went ahead and restored it and worked on it a little. It's kind of weak, but since it was a PROD and not AFD it can stay live to hopefully get worked on. BOZ (talk) 00:32, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Hey Paul, I found another source with which I was able to restore and add more material to Ken Lightner and Joseph Goodman. Maybe you could find something for Goodman if you cross-reference with terms such as Broncosaurus Rex, Dungeon Crawl Classics, or DragonMech? BOZ (talk)
Sorry, still no luck with Goodman. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 02:10, 12 September 2013 (UTC)

Ford Ivey

There's just the briefest of mention of him in this article. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:26, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

Now, that's an interesting one. Since his was deleted due to copyvio, I am assuming it would be safe to start it over (or try to find a point before the copyvio was introduced, if any) and restore from there without the copyvio. I will have to take a look tomorrow. BOZ (talk) 04:43, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

Kevin Andrew Murphy

He wrote an essay in the compilation Seven Seasons of Buffy: Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Discuss Their Favorite Television Show. [1] It's reviewed in Menefee, Christine C. "Seven Seasons of Buffy: Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Discuss Their Favorite Television Show", School Library Journal 50.3 (Mar 2004): 254. That's all I could find. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 02:02, 13 August 2013 (UTC)

Since Kevin Andrew Murphy was deleted by PROD, I just restored the article. The person who put it up for deletion has been banned for sockpuppetry so I'm not exactly worried about it. I was able to beef it up using citations from other articles he is mentioned in. Would you be able to add that review? BOZ (talk) 18:14, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
Yes. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 02:30, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

Derek Pearcy

He is mentioned here in the Phoenix New Times. And he is quoted, as a representative of Steve Jackson Games, in "Spate of suicides linked to US game". John Phillips. Sunday Times [London (UK)] 09 June 1996 (page number not listed). Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 02:10, 13 August 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, Paul! It's a start, so I userfied Derek Pearcy. Since that one was deleted in ancient history, it never really got a chance to grow. I found a couple more sources for this one using other articles. Would you mind adding that quote you found? BOZ (talk) 18:14, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
The quote would not add anything to his bio, in my view (although I added the citation). From the Sunday Times article: "It involves each player putting their name into a hat and drawing out another, denoting the person they must kill. "Everyone then just goes about knocking each other off," said Derek Pearcy, of Steve Jackson Games, the American company that devised Killer." Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 02:33, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
I think you're right about the quote, but thanks for the citation! BOZ (talk) 03:12, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

S. John Ross

All I can find is a press release regarding his work on Risus. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:31, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

Thanks - I think I will leave that one alone for now then. BOZ (talk) 04:17, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

Beth Sotelo

I can't find anything in my library's database, but Google News has some articles—I'm not sure if they qualify as reliable sources. [2] [3] Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 13:43, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

I'll defer to Nightscream on that one. I don't feel comfortable restoring if we're not sure how reliable the sources are. BOZ (talk) 14:08, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
BOZ asked me to weigh in. The Bleeding Cool source is definitely a good one. I've never heard of Nuke the Fridge, though. I would look for an "About" page on their site in order to see if they're credentialed writers or just fans, and (this is very important), if they accept user-submissions (which WP:USERG says is not reliable), or if they have strict editorial control over their content. I'd also check at WP:RSN if you're in doubt. Nightscream (talk) 15:27, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
That makes sense to me. I didn't find an "About" page or similar on the Nuke the Fridge site. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 02:11, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
Did it. BOZ (talk) 06:37, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
Well, while they ignore that, I guess that is as good as we are going to get for her right now. :) Thanks! BOZ (talk) 17:32, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
I didn't really get anywhere with the RS/N, other than an unqualified "No" on that source, so I am going to leave Sotelo alone for now. Paul, let me know if you can find anything else for the rest of these folks - thanks! :) BOZ (talk) 17:03, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

Nene Thomas

I stalled here because this one seemed less straightforward at first glance at the search results. There are several hits for directory-like listings, things like this which don't help much with establishing notability. I don't know if the book about her, from Chimera Publishing, helps: Parting the Veil: The Art of Nene Thomas. Some results from GNews: [4] [5] [6]. Our best bet is an article about her in Doll Reader. Miazga, Mike. "Perfect Pairing" Doll Reader 38.6 (Aug/Sep 2010): 34. It is reprinted here. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 00:55, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Very nice! :) I userfied Nene Thomas; could you check to make sure I added all the best parts properly? BOZ (talk) 00:32, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

John Zeleznik

There is his book from Cartouche Press, Lightstrike: The Collected Illustrations of John Zeleznik and maybe this colouring book is his. I also found this article from the Los Angeles Daily News. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 02:49, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Thanks! I also userfied John Zeleznik, if you don't mind taking a look at that one too. BOZ (talk) 00:32, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Your additions look fine. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:34, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Chris Wiese

His co-authorships of Dark Between the Stars and Merchants of the Jumpweb were not mentioned in the article before it was redirected. I can't find anything else. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:06, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

It may be kind of weak, but I restored this one since it was only a PROD. I may need to redirect it again, but I will keep it live for now in hopes that someone may work on it. BOZ (talk) 00:32, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

It is Finished

And I'm done! It took four months to finish this little quest of mine (wow!) but I went far further than expected, and have now restored over 30 articles that were deleted or redirected, or which I created from bare redirects. Thank you, once again, for your help Paul - it has been invaluable! I don't know if you have noticed the draftspace discussion at VPP, but if that does pass, then I am going to be sending a number of these redlinks thataway if it is created; hopefully they will be bluelinks sooner or later. If you don't mind taking a look for sources for Walter Milliken, Adam Jury, and R. Hyrum Savage as I mentioned above, I think it is very safe to close out this thread. I may find more deleted bios in the future, but those will most likely be one-offs as I am not going to be actively searching anymore. My next task will be to start some game designer articles from scratch using my source - who knows how many that will allow me to do. :) While I have been telling you about these deleted ones, I have also been sourcing dozens of live articles on game designers and other related people using my source. BOZ (talk) 01:38, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

Congratulations, BOZ! I'll take a look for those remaining three. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 04:15, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
And done. Cheers, Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 21:31, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
As always, thanks again. :) BOZ (talk) 05:07, 17 November 2013 (UTC)

Lindy

Thanks for the wikilove; much appreciated. There is one thing I'm struggling with, though, and that's whether or not I should actually move the article to his full name. From what I can tell, it seems to be a bit willy-nilly as to whether he's credited with or without the Vopnfjord — generally it does get used in print references (and even on the cover of his current album), but doesn't seem to get used in broadcast ones (I'm guessing at least partly because radio DJs don't want to actually have to try to pronounce it) — with the result that you could probably make equally credible claims either way as to which one is actually the name he's "better known by". Do you have any ideas one way or the other? Bearcat (talk) 04:36, 20 July 2013 (UTC)

I think you're right and I actually think either would be fine. I have a preference for "Lindy Vopnfjörd" based on the more recent album credits and website and some of the RS coverage, but that's certainly not a strong preference. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 04:45, 20 July 2013 (UTC)
Stuff like this makes me lean a little towards using his full name. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 04:48, 20 July 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for that, I thought about it some more and finally decided to go with the full name for those reasons — for example, with Young Waverer being essentially his breakthrough album, to me that album cover carries a lot more weight than the older ones did. And yes, I did make sure to spell it right (though I did also create a redirect from the anglicized version.) Bearcat (talk) 07:54, 20 July 2013 (UTC)
Looks good to me. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 12:42, 20 July 2013 (UTC)
And I feel even more secure in that decision now, because I just read a reference (already added to the article for something else) in which he specifically talked about why he chose to use his surname on the new album cover. Hey, just goes to show that even a dummy like me can get it right once in a while. Bearcat (talk) 17:41, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
Good call, Bearcat! Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 20:14, 21 July 2013 (UTC)

Wikipedia Images For Free!!! | Assisted by Citation bot r432

Hi Paul,

I know it's been a while. I've tried establishing a new account at Commons. Perhaps you can help? I'm trying to donate images that I've photographed personally to Wikipedia. I want no credit. I want no attribution. I want nothing. I want nothing at all for these images. Please advise.

Argolin

Hi Argolin. That's great. But there's no way to upload an image with no attribution, as far as I know. If you want no credit connected to the "Argolin"-named account, you can create some other randomly named account, then follow the instructions after clicking the "Upload file" link on the menu on the left on Commons. Let me know if I've misunderstood your question. (I don't understand why you've referenced Citation bot in the subject heading here.) Regards, Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 12:02, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing it!--Pawyilee (talk) 05:39, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

Several speedy deletions declined

Hi Unforgettableid. I've declined a number of your speedy-deletion tags. [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] Not only are these inappropriate for speedy, but I think several of these are notable per WP:GNG and would likely be kept if discussed at AfD. Please keep in mind that speedy deletion is reserved for only the most uncontroversial deletions; others need to go via Prod or AfD. With regard to A7 deletions, I sometimes use User:SoWhy/Common A7 mistakes as a guide. Regards, Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:48, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi Paul. Fine. Which do you feel are probably notable per WP:GNG? You can reply via a message, or you can mark them at User:Unforgettableid/CSD log#August 2013 if you prefer. Cheers, —Unforgettableid (talk) 04:07, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
Have you tried any searches such as this? Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 04:12, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
Tonight I wasn't doing any Google News Archive searches. I probably should have. And I haven't normally been nominating music-related articles. I have now learned that AllMusic is a reliable source, and that I should search there. Thank you for educating me. —Unforgettableid (talk) 07:19, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

Sock tagging

Hi, Paul, you tagged User:Gottahavearealneed as a suspected puppet. After you did that, I tagged User:Gottabecrazy in the same fashion. Areaseven, who fancies himself an SPI clerk, changed both of our tags. I've run up against Areaseven before. Ironically, although I threatened him if they kept reverting me, after some consultation with another admin, I decided that Areaseven was right and restored their preferred tag.

This whole thing irks me. I don't mind a non-admin tagging a user with one of those "expressed a concern" tags, but once a user has been blocked, it seem to me that the admin who blocked them, or perhaps another involved admin, should do the tagging. I'm not sure I know of any policy that prohibits a non-admin from doing it, but it strikes me as wrong. It also irks me that the Areaseven does it without edit summaries and without consulting with the admin who added the tag in the first instance.

If none of this bothers you, I'm going to let it go as I think I am more irritated by this sort of thing than many. That's why I came here rather than restoring the original tags and getting into another fight with Areaseven.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:14, 18 September 2013 (UTC)

Thanks Bbb23. Yeah it's irritating that Areaseven changed the tag on the userpage of the user I blocked without even letting me know. It's not so irritating to me that I would revert them, or even mention it to them. It's now got me curious, though, and made me look more carefully at Template:Sockpuppet—why is "confirmed" more appropriate than "blocked"? I hadn't noticed there were those two options; previously I just knew that "checked" would be wrong for me to add since I did not perform a checkuser. Hi Paul Erik, I need to make updates to the Sheela Basrur page but do not have an account and am unsure who posted the page from within my organization. How can I expedite the process and verify my changes? Please advise. Thanks, Lina — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.40.1.129 (talk) 16:28, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi Lina, thanks for your note. Updates to the Sheela Basrur are certainly welcome, but need to be verifiable (see Wikipedia:Verifiability for detailed information), ideally with the use of citations to reliable sources, which would include things like newspaper and magazine articles about her, and books about her if there are any.

I removed your coworker's contributions because they appeared to have been copy-pasted from the sheelabasrurcentre.ca website, without attribution, so that was a red flag for potential copyright violation and plagiarism. Also some of the material did not convey the neutral point of view that would be expected in an encyclopedia article. Sorry if that came across as heavy-handed, but your coworker was not responding to messages I left, and was not communicating through the use of edit summaries either.

If you would like to read a general introduction as to how to contribute to Wikipedia please see Wikipedia:Welcoming committee/Welcome to Wikipedia. Yes, it probably would be a good idea to register an account so that other editors know the contributions are coming from one person (and there are other advantages; see Wikipedia:Why create an account?).

Just now I have updated some of the web links in the article's citations that had gone dead. If you have some suggestions for changes to the article, please feel free to bring them to Talk:Sheela Basrur. I will keep an eye on that page too. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 23:51, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

tbta police wiki page

Hello Paul Erik cfred keeps making correction to the tbta wiki page, as you can clearly see this agency is not a police dept or agency. Look at the job posting www.nyc.gov/html/dcas/downloads/pdf/noes/bridgeandtunnelofficer.pdf Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 180.210.204.218 (talk) 03:59, 13 October 2013 (UTC)

Please see Wikipedia:Dispute resolution for the processes to undertake when you disagree with the edits another user is making. Edit warring is not the way to bring about a change to a Wikipedia article. For example, there seems to be no discussion whatsoever at Talk:Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority Police, which would be the usual place to start discussing changes to the article. Thanks. Upload of Images to Wikipedia + Wikipedia Commons

Hi Paul,

To follow up on my "Wikipedia Images For Free!!!I" post (15 August 2013) to your page for help, I figured out how to do it myself. I managed to upload an image free for everone to use, per the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Licence. I also assigned the image to various Commons categories. There is a great help tool to guide newbies in the wikicommons domain. Thanks very much.

Hope all is well with you. Thanks again for your help. Best!

My edit to Web Therapy

You told me that my edit to the Web Therapy wikipedia page was incorrect. As a fan of the show, I looked it up on your website to learn more. I noticed that there was an error where the page said that the chat server used in the show was iChat, so I corrected it by changing it to skype. If you watch one episode of the show it clearly shows, that although they are are using Mac computers they are using skype. So quit changing it back to iChat, and maybe watch an episode for the correct depiction. VladfaceVladface (talk) 00:43, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

Sources such as this state that it is iChat she uses on the web series. Perhaps on the Showtime series (Web Therapy (TV series)), she uses Skype. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 18:02, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

"Stacy's mom" actress gianna dispenza

hi , the name of the actress that was in "stacy's mom" music video is actually gianna dispenza not distenca , and here is the evidence :

her official facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/gianna.dispenza) , which is the only site this actress posted new photos of her ( check the album "in Italy" ), and if you googled the name gianna distenca you wont find any new personal pictures for her — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.51.200.198 (talk) 15:56, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

Am I missing something? I'm not seeing any evidence that artist Gianna Dispenza was an actress in the "Stacy's Mom" video. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 16:43, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for sorting out the mess I made on the above. What I was trying to do (incompetently) was to move the article to Mocha coffee on the basis of WP:COMMONNAME. The article had been under the name Caffè mocha for some time, but had recently been moved by someone to Mocaccino on the basis that this was the "original" Italian name. But really I think COMMONNAME means it should be Mocha coffee. Would you agree to move it to that? DeCausa (talk) 23:08, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi DeCausa. I'm not an expert on the topic, but based on some of the discussion on the talk page it looks as if it is at least a little bit controversial whether to name it Mocha coffee or Caffè mocha or Cafe mocha or Mocaccino, so I would suggest putting it through Wikipedia:Requested moves. The deleted parely page

Yes, I would like to have a copy of the page in my sandbox. Thanks! LavaSnake (talk) 02:17, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

Done. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:09, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
Thank you! I'm hoping to improve it in my sandbox as good sources become available. When I'm done what would be the best way to have an experienced user review the page before I recreate it? LavaSnake (talk) 03:14, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
You could make a request at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Software. If and when you recreate it, I'd suggest letting User talk:MrX know, as the editor who had brought it to the deletion discussion; consider also letting the other participants of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Parley (software) (2nd nomination) know as well. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:41, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
Ok, thanks again! LavaSnake (talk) 13:12, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

Picture for Cristin Milioti

Hey Paul,

I'm writing on your talk page because I saw that you were part of the discussion on the talk page for Cristin Milioti re: the main photograph. I've changed it to a picture I took myself, and I think it looks a lot better than the old one. Thought I'd let you know! Cheers. –- kungming·2 02:30, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

Thanks! I've replied at Talk:Cristin Milioti. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:11, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

Daniel Romano

Hello Paul

As someone who has worked with Daniel in the past I know that having affiliations with a punk band is single handedly destroying his career. He is being pigeon holed into a group of "Country punk" which is not what daniel plays. over time my fear is that wikipedia would be allowed to write "daniel plays country punk" which is completely incorrect. this alteration to the page would best establish the truth and not confuse the people interested in looking him up. Im just looking out for his best interests. Its a fickle world out there. You would be doing the right thing by not having Attack in black be an important part of his career.

Thank you for your time Paul,

Ian Parsons — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ian Parsons (talkcontribs) 18:35, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the explanation, Ian. Regards, Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 19:10, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

Merry Christmas!

I'm wishing you a Merry Christmas, because that is what I celebrate. If you don't like Christmas or just don't celebrate it in any of its forms, then please accept a generic "Happy Holidays". If you celebrate no holidays at this time of year, then hopefully you will be satisfied with an even more generic "Season's Greetings".  :)

Deletion of large portions of the article

Hello, Just wanted to ask for some assistance on Ploughshares Fund, a page you worked on before. There are several of contributions that are being deleted from the page. Notice that you also worked on rescuing pages! Awesome! You familiar with WP:ARS? If you can look over and watch Ploughshares Fund, I would really appreciate it! Igottheconch (talk) 06:28, 27 December 2013 (UTC)

Hello. I haven't worked on that page; I've removed some vandalism from it several times but that's all. It looks as if you are taking the right approach to the concerns of the other editor, addressing WP:V issues by adding citations to sources. Regards, Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 22:59, 27 December 2013 (UTC)

Good edit

This was a good edit. I was about to make that very change, and the note stopped me, so it was good that you posted it there. StAnselm (talk) 22:28, 27 December 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the feedback. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 22:56, 27 December 2013 (UTC)

Liam Hemsworth

Hello Paul! I'm sorry about the edit. My best friend was having a down day and her name is Sage Caudle. I wanted to cheer her up by sending her a picture of the change and I was going to edit it back. I kept having to retouch it because it wouldn't fit correctly on my phone. After I finally found a screenshot picture that fit and tried to edit it back to normal, it said that you edited it before I could. I apologize for the inconvenience! Liam is her biggest celebrity crush and is was desperate to cheer her up. Hope you're having a wonderful new year! Best wishes!

P.S - I'm on my phone and I can't see if I am in the proper place for messaging, but I think it's correct. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Summerbreezeintheheat (talkcontribs) 05:49, 11 January 2014 (UTC)

"Forever"

Hey, I don't get what was so bad about my example that I placed down, haven't you ever been in love? I was basically giving an example, Who is that going to hurt? In fact its beneficial since there is no examples for the word forever. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.77.60.225 (talk) 12:48, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

Justin "Bad Boy" Bieber

Hi Paul Erik - Yes, you are right ... I should've asked for consensus. But all the Justin fans would have diagreed with me. Instead I made a bold but not reckless edit knowing that it would be quickly reverted. However, the edits being made as America was waking up - the possibility of the press seeing the edits in the lede became a reality. Because a lot of journalists look at Wikipedia first, it's possible that it could have influenced their copy. I do have opinions about Mr Bieber - I think, for instance, that fame has been to much for him and that in many ways he is a victim of the music industry. However, after making today's edits, I started to see a few things I like about him. I don't know how sincere he is, but I read about the fact that he makes a Jewish prayer before each performance ... before I knew it (it's the Wikipedian in me) I was researching Deuteronomy. Such in life ... my mischief made me a better person and Justin has not been harmed in the making of this motion picture. Take care Francis Hannaway (talk) 18:33, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

Okay, take care. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 21:20, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

99.90.225.142

Would it be possible to block user:99.90.225.142 again? They're red-linking and false-linking every folk music article on Wikipedia. They don't appear to read their talk page(s). Thanks, Haminoon (talk) 03:06, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

Sure. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:09, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
