Revert?

[edit]

Did you just revert the change I made to the background section seen here? AzureCitizen (talk) 22:19, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@AzureCitizen: Was not meant to be a revert. I was just sorting out the article in a more presentable way. Background isn't an allegation, and the NYT investigation is a development rather than an allegation too. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 22:20, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Please use edit summaries if you don't mind, when they're left blank the other editor wonders what just happened and why. Having a separate background section seems to be drawing people in who want to turn that into either 1) a mini-BLP for Reade, or 2) content "for" or "against" Biden. With regard to developments, they are several "developments" above the new section that was just added, for example the NPR police report confirmation and the Business Insider interview of her former neighbor. Regards, AzureCitizen (talk) 22:23, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for not using edit summaries. I will move the developments to the appropriate place. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 22:24, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Tara Reade Allegations

[edit]

Hello Nice4What. You have violated the 1RR page restriction on the Biden/Reade allegations article. As you know, that restriction was placed under Discretionary Sanctions.

The reverts are [1] and [2].

Please undo the sectond one, which reinstated the disputed dual-headshot illustration of Biden and Reade. FYI you also violated 1RR yesterday when you reinstated that same illustration after I challenged it. These are clear violations for which an editor can be blocked, so I hope you'll just undo your second revert linked above. Thank you. SPECIFICO talk 18:14, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

DS violation

[edit]

Hi Nice4What, you have violated the editing restrictions on Tara Reade sexual assault allegation by exceeding 1RR and by restoring material (see below). Please self-revert the violating edits.

  • Limit of one revert in 24 hours: This article is under WP:1RR (one revert per editor per article per 24-hour period).
  • 24-hr BRD cycle: If a change you make to this article is reverted, you may not reinstate that change unless you discuss the issue on the talk page and wait 24 hours (from the time of the original edit). Partial reverts/reinstatements that reasonably address objections of other editors are preferable to wholesale reverts.

Thank you. - MrX 🖋 18:15, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Which edit? And thank you, I will self-revert. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 18:16, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Revert #1 (OK), restoration/revert #2, restoration/revert #3]. I suspect that if I dug through your edits over the past 24 hours there would be more. - MrX 🖋 18:28, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yea, I fixed that image revert. "Revert #3" isn't a revert, it's fixing an orphaned citation. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 18:39, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Also, be sure to check the talk page so there's no issues like the one found at "Revert #2". A discussion was ongoing regarding that content. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 18:44, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nice4What - you repeatedly edit-warred your 2 photo illustration into the article. The single Reade photo had been stable for weeks since its first appearance. Don't keep saying you were restoring a good version pending discussion to change it. Anyone who looks at the diffs will know that is not true. SPECIFICO talk 19:12, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Discussion ongoing with most in support of two portraits, so say what you want to say 🤷 You are correct that I was the one that added the photos to the lede (edit). Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 19:22, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Edit conflict at Biden allegations

[edit]

Hello Nice4What. I believe that, due to an edit conflict, you reverted two of my preceding edits, here: My edits here
Your edit, (edit conflict) that reverted mine: here

I believe you may have corrected some of the edit conflict, but some of my edit is still missing. I'd appreciate it if you could correct this. Thanks. SPECIFICO talk 13:15, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@SPECIFICO: How is that an edit conflict..? There was a tag about the lede needing a rewrite, which I completed. I saw I accidentally removed the reaction from Gillibrand, but I swiftly readded it because I didn't want to edit war. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 13:17, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You removing the audio file would count as a revert, no? Use the talk page please... Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 13:19, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Your edit undid my removal of some of the list of reactions. Nothing to do with the lead. Are you going to take care of this or not? "Use the talk page" has nothing to do with a simple matter of an edit conflict. It sounds as if you're suggesting I'm asking you to make some edit so I can avoid discussing content on the talk page? I don't underestand why it's a problem for you to fix your error. When there's an edit conflict, the only safe thing is to exit and re-do from a fresh screen. Please have a look at my original links here. Thank you. SPECIFICO talk 13:50, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
During my edit, you reverted certain additions to the article. My point is if you have a problem with said conflict, use the talk page and create a new section to discuss that content. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 13:52, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Are you saying that you purposely reverted my edits to the "Corroborations" section? If so, I misunderstood and thought it was inadvertent removal due to the edit conflict. SPECIFICO talk 13:54, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
How did you interpret that from what I just said? I was editing this version of the article before the edit conflict. While I was fixing the lede, you reverted the addition of the Larry King Live audio sample and other content. That's my point. I didn't deliberately do anything, it was an edit conflict. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 13:57, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
In addition to the King bit, there was also my removal of some of the "collaborations" that was reverted by the conflict. Are you saying that you purposely reverted my edits to the "Corroborations" section? If so, I misunderstood and thought it was inadvertent removal due to the edit conflict. I need to know, because if you intended to revert my removals from the corroborations, I will indeed use talk and not edit war. But it appeared to me that this was just due to the inadvertent edit conflict and that you were not intentionally making a revert of my removals. If so, one of us can fix it and reinstate my edit that was reverted. Let me know and I'll proceed accordingly. Thanks. SPECIFICO talk 13:54, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@SPECIFICO: It was an inadvertent removal. But was your edit to the corrobations section a revert of another editor's additions? If not, I apologize and please link me your edits so we can avoid an edit war. Thanks! Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 14:10, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I gave you the link in my inital comment above. It covers two consecutive edits that appear to have been wiped out -- now we know inadvertently -- by your edit. I'd appreciate it if you could reinstate my edits per the linked diff. It will be a self-revert for you to re-do my diff that was caught in the conflict, and otherwise, if I do it it may appear to be a 1RR violation to someone who has not seen this thread, etc. Thank you. SPECIFICO talk 14:26, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If it looks like that, then I could always explain. If you removed content, it seems like a revert of content, no? I propose we solve this through discussion. I'm starting a talk page section about the audio file. I'll also be certain to avoid edit conflicts and edit wars (again, sorry for the issue). Please let me know what you think! Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 14:30, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Talk page discussion about the audio file. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 14:34, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This article is not under zero reverts. There's nothing wrong with my having reverted content. I'm concluding that you refuse to correct the edit conflict that you say inadvertently undid my edits. Undoing a technical error is separate from any talk page discussion. Last try: Please undo the inadvertent revert of my edit. If you do not choose to do that, I am going to consider it a simple revert and will have a look at your 24 hour recent and future history to make sure there is no other revert. Please fix the inadvertent revert. That's all I'll have to say about this on this page. SPECIFICO talk 14:40, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Edit history already shows you violated 1RR by removing the photo of Biden and then removing content from the lede. What point are you trying to make by removing all mentions of LKL, removing the audio sample, and then "Remove content not specifically about the 2020 sexual assault allegation". I've tried to compromise and be civil. What more do you want? Should I reinstate your violation, really? I suggest you "self-revert" your removal of this content by accepting this accidental technical error. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 14:47, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Happy now? You should self-revert because you engaged on the talk page about this content claiming BLP issues, but then went ahead and removed the content (an editing pattern at this point). POV and 1RR issues. Am I meant to report this somewhere? Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 14:54, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If you are saying you believe that I violated 1RR, please provide the diffs. I am careful to avoid that. Thank you. SPECIFICO talk 15:22, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
SPECIFICO, for starters, it would be easy for someone to claim that these large removals consisted of reverts, as the material has been going in and out recently. And here you reverted the addition of Biden's photo (which had already been reverted even though there was ongoing discussion). Mr Ernie (talk) 15:33, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ernie, I think I've made clear above and elsewhere why your concerns are unfounded. Maybe have a look above and on the article talk page. Cheers. SPECIFICO talk 16:28, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of statement regarding Biden's denial

[edit]

Hi, I have noticed that your edit has removed a sentence that explains that as of April 2020, Biden hasn't personally addressed the allegations (with two sources provided). Since this edit was labelled as an edit conflict, was that on purpose and is a revert, or am I okay to return that sentence? Thanks BeŻet (talk) 13:18, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@BeŻet: Yes, that was an accident based on technical issues. Go ahead, not trying to edit war! And I believe that content belongs on the article. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 13:19, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I assumed it was a mistake and that's why I thought I'll contact you directly. BeŻet (talk) 13:24, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Issues with your editing

[edit]

Hi Nice4What. Yesterday, as a courtesy, I alerted you to violations of 1RR and enforced BRD at Joe Biden sexual assault allegation. I was disappointed to see that you are continuing in that vein, forcing your preferences into the article by making several reverts: [3][4][5][6]. In addition to this, I believe you are editing aggressively, and with a strong POV, for example making sure that certain material appears in the article in two, and even three places. Before I bring this to WP:AE for review, I wanted to give you an opportunity to address this voluntarily. - MrX 🖋 13:55, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@MrX: I'm confused. "Making sure that certain material appears" yet I've been cutting down on duplicate content ([7][8])? Your second "revert" also shows cutting down on duplicate content, as I was merging two sections about The Union into one. "Revert" three was also rephrasing duplicate content as it was already stated that Reade's brother was unaware of the assault at first. You have quite literally characterized my edits as the opposite of what they are. Point to any "self-reverts" you believe I need to make to fix this issue. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 14:01, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
See above RE: Edit conflict. SPECIFICO talk 14:04, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
See above, as it was a technical issue and you engaged in the reverting of content added by other editors. I even did my best to undo the accidental removal of content. That audio call in no way could be considered a BLP violation. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 14:08, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Every time I think we've sorted things out, I'm surprised to see a comment like that, Nice4What. There's no restriction on my having reverted the "corroborations" content, and I explained myself in my edit summaries. "BLP violation" was not in my summary - I'm not sure why you bring that up. SPECIFICO talk 14:36, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
POV accusations? You added an opinion piece criticizing Reade to the article. This can go both ways. If your concern is that I'm somehow "anti-Biden" because I'm against a page move or I want a photo of Biden in the lede, then that doesn't add up. Go through my edits on the article and I've added content related to both camps. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 14:08, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Do not let these two intimidate you, but it may be a good idea to slow down a bit there. MrX is one of the most effective and prolific AE filers in the AP2 space, so please really ensure you are staying in line with the sanctions. Mr Ernie (talk) 14:13, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Of course, and thank you Mr Ernie. I haven't been adding controversial content, just rephrasing what exists. That's why I've been using the talk page more to adhere to WP:ONUS. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 14:14, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I listed four reverts above, and it looks like you made another while I was writing this. If I have to point out ever revert, I will do it at WP:AE. If you don't understand what a revert is, or why material should not appear three times in a article, then you should edit in a less serious areas of the encyclopedia. I don't know how you can be confused about the fact that Collin Moulton appears three times in this short article, since you added at least two of those instances. You have also been previously warned about edit warring, and blocked for it, but it has apparently made little impression on you. - MrX 🖋 14:15, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Mr X, I added Moulton to the lede because that's what a lede is for (summarizing) and there was a tag for rewriting. I have explained in-depth that those four examples you listed are not reverts. I have cut down on content, maybe you are looking at it wrong? I'm not edit warring, look at the many sections I've started on that article's talk page. Maybe at this point you need to be reminded of WP:GF as well? Want me to "self-revert" so The Union is mentioned twice, Moulton initially not knowing about the assault is mentioned twice, the anonymous allegations are mentioned twice, and to reinstate the unrevised lede? I'm not trying to insult you, but you have to be reading my edits wrong. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 14:20, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If you don't want to be sanctioned, you should self-revert all of your reverts in the past 24 hours—the ones I listed, and any others where you removed material that someone added, or added material that someone removed. In addition to that, you really must stop violating the page editing restrictions, and WP:EW. You have had more than enough warnings. - MrX 🖋 14:34, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
All of my reverts in the past 24hrs have been self-reverted. Retract your statement that I was making sure that certain material appears in the article in two, and even three places because if I revert what you allege to be "reverts", the article will appear that way. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 14:37, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
"Self-revert" done. Want to fix up the duplicated content on the article now, or would that be a revert of my self-revert? Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 14:44, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You're acting like a thug, MrX. How about instead of puffing your chest and issuing threats of sanctioning you show some civility? MyPreferredUsernameWasTaken (talk) 15:21, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Actually there are some ambiguities about what a revert actually is. For certain, it is using the "undo" button to remove content. Less certain but still likely is if you go in and manually remove information someone recently added. I say less certain, because in that case technically every edit you make where you remove text could be construed and portrayed as a revert. And this also depends on the admin who reviews your report, because there isn't a hard and fast rule about what type of text removals are reverts and what are simple editorial decisions (what you called cutting down content). In the case of Biden, where there's lots of things being added and removed daily, it may make sense to err on the side of caution until things calm down a bit.
MrX you need to be careful too, as you look to have gotten away with a few 1RR's too. Mr Ernie (talk) 14:25, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I made one accidental 1RR vio because I mistakenly thought the Forbes content was user contributed (which it usually is). Once I realized that, I was going to self-revert, but someone already reverted it. - MrX 🖋 14:34, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Jesus is Born

[edit]

Why do you insist on classifying Jesus is Born as a Kanye West collaboration? Nowhere does it state this. It is credited everywhere as a Sunday Service album, not as a Kanye collaborative album. You seem to be ignoring credits for your own classificatinons.

Furthermore, Jesus is King II is also not a collaboration, it will be executive produced by Dr. Dre, but that is another issue entirely. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.48.113.152 (talk) 18:47, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Carole Baskin DYK

[edit]

Hi, I removed this entry from the stats page because it does not qualify based on the pageviews the day before and the day after. Higher up on the Stats page you see this formula: VX − (VX−1 + VX+1). Your page therefore got 53,363 – (60,396 + 43,474)/2 = 1,428, indicating only 1,428 new pageviews because of the DYK appearance. Yoninah (talk) 14:22, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Personal attacks

[edit]

Please refrain from making bad faithed false accusations and personal attacks on talk pages as you did here (and a few other places). Volunteer Marek 17:04, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Don't mind Marek, he's just like that. Cjhard (talk) 17:23, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That's not a personal attack. You moved the page yesterday ignoring the ongoing discussion. You've made continuous edits while still ignoring ongoing discussions. Reflect on your own disruptive editing. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 17:52, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I second this, as Nice4What has been making personal attacks and accusations at me as well. Nice4What, you've now been warned and further personal attacks can be met with reports at ANI or AE. DS applies to this page. Wikieditor19920 (talk) 18:07, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Link the personal attacks. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 18:08, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

See below:

Just so you know, WP:NPA does not just mean schoolyard name calling. It also covers accusations against other editors without evidence, misuse of the talk page for personalized criticisms, suggestions of bad intent or bad faith, and including editors names in talk page headings (which is a serious no-no). You are welcome to continue participating at the talk page if you can refrain from the above. If not, the above diffs can be presented at ANI or AE for repeated abuse of DS/NPA policy. Your call. Wikieditor19920 (talk) 18:21, 1 May 2020 (UTC) I will also say I have some understanding about/experience in "coming in hot" regarding an issue you might be passionate about, but you really can't engage with others in the way above. I'm not trying to threaten you with AE/ANI, but that's where this stuff ends up if you antagonize enough people.Wikieditor19920 (talk) 18:25, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Accusations of blanking were true, speaking volumes isn't hostile or anything (point being that not many people see it as a BLP violation), and characterizing the removal of content as "disruptive" while discussions are ongoing... These are all defendable charges you're making here. Wow, you called me citing WP:ONUS bullshit – how dare you? (Get my point now?) Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 18:55, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
What do you mean by "blanking?" You have no diff of any blanking of that section. You've been asked many times to stop repeating that charge. It is false and inflammatory and yes it is a personal attack to keep repeating a false claim. SPECIFICO talk 19:10, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oh wow, Nice4What, you've got the misfortune of the SPECIFICO/Varek double-team. Don't take them too seriously, but do be careful. Cjhard (talk) 02:48, 2 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting my edits - editing war

[edit]

Why do you keep reverting my Jesus is Born edits, it is not considered as part of his discography anywhere. It is a Sunday Service album, which is a Kanye affiliation.

He was the executive producer, it is not credited as a Kanye West collaboration, you seem have your own definition, can you please explain?

Use a talk page to discuss this. Here is an example. Kanye is a member/leader of the Sunday Service Choir. Though he doesn't have vocals on the album, his contributions are all over the album. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 13:03, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

George Floyd protests

[edit]

Your edit summary read, "Wait as talk page discussion is ongoing", but WP:ONUS and WP:BRD says the content, once challenged, should not be reinstated until there is consensus to do so. That there is a talk page discussion ongoing is the reason why this should be removed. We don't keep it in there pending talk page discussion; we remove it pending talk page discussion. Also, it is unsourced. "13" is just as much WP:OR as your modification "9-13". No source says "13" or "9-13" deaths occurred--that figure is arrived by editors counting up how many reports are in the article. It's using Wikipedia as a source, which is also very clearly against policy. Please self revert. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Levivich (talkcontribs)

Somebody else has added to my edit now. I would be reverting their addition. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 16:26, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That was me who added to your edit. Actually, I removed your edit, which had the death tolls at "13" and then "9-13", which were based on your adding up the instances listed in our article. I replaced that with "5+", sourced to a New York Times article that was updated today. I hope you now see that what you added was (1) factually incorrect, (2) unsourced, (3) based on your own calculations, and (4) directly contradicted by actual reliable sources. It's important that the information we put out is accurate and verified. That's in our core content policies and our pillars. It's essential to the very essence of what we do here that we do not make up numbers. Please don't do this again. Levivich[dubiousdiscuss] 16:37, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Capitol Hill protest zone

[edit]

The zone is still active and many sources are questioning that it has, in fact, dissolved. It is premature for this to be in the infobox, (let alone to have a section request for expansion) after the claim was added yesterday afternoon, several RS were reporting that others did not recognized the "official" twitter or the self proclaimed leader. The account by CNN is a matter of dispute by several local RS. Kind Regards, Cedar777 (talk) 18:47, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
