That IP post at WT:VG

It was from a user named Sandeep Manikpuri. We have previously communicated on the Simple English Wikipedia. QuicoleJR (talk) 20:11, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

@QuicoleJR Alright, my apologies. The way the post was written made me think it was a troll of some sorts. NegativeMP1 20:20, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
For what it's worth, I had the same thought, honestly, but didn't have the time to dig into it... Sergecross73 msg me 20:32, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

Audio sample of "Five Nights at Freddy's"

Hello. I've removed the sample you uploaded of the "Five Nights at Freddy's" song from the article as I don't think it meets all 10 criteria of WP:NFCC and wouldn't hold up at WP:FFD if nominated for deletion. Even small samples of songs have been routinely deleted over the years at WP:FFD unless they are discussed critically, which usually justifies their inclusion. At present, there isn't any critical discussion on the article that justifies the sample, and I'm really not sure there are sources out that discuss the Living Tombstone song that in-depth. Ss112 07:12, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

Yeah that's perfectly fine with me. I assumed the short sample would have been acceptable, but I'm not a copyright expert and that article was the first one I've ever made for a song. Thanks for telling me about this now though, since I would rather not have to deal with an FFD again, especially when the article is currently approved for DYK. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Music of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Heavy metal. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Unfortunately, Template:Did you know nominations/Tilted Towers is not eligible for DYK points because it was nominated to DYK as a newly promoted GA. WikiCup 2024 February newsletter

The 2024 WikiCup is off to a flying start, with 135 participants. This is the largest number of participants we have seen since 2017.

Our current leader is newcomer Generalissima (submissions), who has one FA on John Littlejohn (preacher) and 10 GAs and 12 DYKs mostly on New Zealand coinage and Inuit figures. Here are some more noteworthy scorers:

As a reminder, competitors may submit work for the first round until 23:59 (UTC) on 27 February, and the second round starts 1 March. Remember that only the top 64 scoring competitors will make it through to the second round; currently, competitors need at least 15 points to progress. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAN, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges (Cwmhiraeth (talk · contribs), Epicgenius (talk · contribs), and Frostly (talk · contribs)) are reachable on their talk pages. Your GA review on Animal Crossing Plaza

Hey, I got the alert that Animal Crossing Plaza was passed, and I just checking in to see if you did a source review on your recent GA review on it — I obviously assume that you did, but with a recent rash of GA quickpasses, I have just felt obligated to check for these sorts of things.

I have generally found that even if there is nothing wrong with the article, and that you would pass it as is, it's still important to go through (either literally or through your words) the GA criteria checklist to make sure it can't be mistaken for a quickpass. Generalissima (talk) 03:34, 22 February 2024 (UTC)

Yeah I checked sources #1 and the one verifying the polling thing (forgot the number). I forgot to list it and the quickfail criteria because I generally just found nothing wrong with the article, mistake on my part. Thanks for pointing that out! λ NegativeMP1 03:46, 22 February 2024 (UTC)

God, when will it end I mean, uh...
The sourcing on this one feels a lot more of iffy than Mewing and Looksmaxxing, and notability seems to be questionable, unlike those two. It's a good start, but it should probably be kept in draftspace for the time being. λ NegativeMP1 05:53, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
Looks like Liz moved it, I get the notability questions but I think it just qualifies. Among numerous publications (though a good chunk of them are marginally reliable), it's the lede for an NYT story about Gen Alpha slang. We'll see. TLAtlak 07:10, 24 February 2024 (UTC)

The first round of the 2024 WikiCup ended at 23:59 (UTC) on 27 February. Everyone with at least 30 points moved on to Round 2, the highest number of points required to advance to the second round since 2014. Due to a six-way tie for the 64th-place spot, 67 contestants have qualified for Round 2.

The following scorers in Round 1 all scored more than 300 points:

In this newsletter, the judges would like to pay a special tribute to Vami_IV (submissions), who unfortunately passed away this February. At the time of his death, he was the second-highest-scoring competitor. Outside the WikiCup, he had eight other featured articles, five A-class articles, eight other good articles, and two Four Awards. Vami also wrote an essay on completionism, a philosophy in which he deeply believed. If you can, please join us in honoring his memory by improving one of the articles on his to-do list.

Remember that any content promoted after 27 February but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Furina

Hey, great job with the Furina article!--Gen. Quon[Talk] 17:52, 18 March 2024 (UTC)

Are you planning any others? I think an article on Nahida would probably be possible.--Gen. Quon[Talk] 14:01, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
Going based on English coverage of the other characters, I'm unsure. I was able to get one made for Paimon around the same time as Furina, but other characters are only really mentioned in game guide content or update announcements. But I'm also yet to do super extensive source searching for characters like Nahida, so never say never. λ NegativeMP1 16:32, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
That makes sense! Nahida seemed like the other 'possible' simply because her story was so well-received. But now that I look at the sourcing, there isn't a ton of info about her creation, etc.--Gen. Quon[Talk] 16:29, 23 March 2024 (UTC)

Why are you silencing me?

I'm not allowed to complain about splatoon at all??? I'm furious because i keep getting shut down left and right and everyone thinks im a troll but theres nowhere else i can complain about this stuff WhereverWeAreNow (talk) 02:26, 10 April 2024 (UTC)

Sir, this is Wikipedia. Voicing complaints about a fandom in an aggressive manner is not permitted here. Actually, you shouldn't be discussing the game at all. Please go somewhere else, because Wikipedia is not the place to do this. λ NegativeMP1 02:29, 10 April 2024 (UTC)
Did you even read what i typed? i was suspended from gamefaqs for complaining. they told me i was trolling and also put "The next time you make an account, I suggest you put some more thought into it instead of making it obvious it's just to complain about one thing and leave." < from a gamefaqs mod. I hate mods and admins of sites so much, they're power tripping narcissists WhereverWeAreNow (talk) 02:33, 10 April 2024 (UTC)
Okay? And did you read what I typed? Wikipedia is not the place for this type of complaining. λ NegativeMP1 02:36, 10 April 2024 (UTC)

Pixel Gun 3D sources

I found a small paragraph in the Toronto Sun which adds it used to be called "Pixlgun 3D" and doubled as an unofficial Minecraft skin maker, which led me to this CNET review under the old name. Perhaps these could be useful? — VORTEX3427 (Talk!) 13:19, 11 April 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for the source ideas, but I'm not sure if these will provide any benefit since they're fairly outdated and not relevant to how the game is these days. For example, the game doesn't let you export skins to Minecraft anymore. λ NegativeMP1 18:48, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
