Deletions of Save the Planet Article

[edit]

Hi you recently deleted an article I wrote - I assume for not meeting notoriety requirements? https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Save_The_Planet&action=edit&redlink=1

Does the links on our media page make the external published requirement. http://www.voteplanet.net/in-the-news.html

I didn't understand wikipedia had such requirements before you deleted. It explains why there seemed to be quite a lot of information black holes in the wiki

Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Greycliffs (talkcontribs) 19:32, 13 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • The radio interviews probably save the article from being speedily deleted again. You should, however, delete the "goals and visions" section because that is basically advertising for the party. That's not permitted here, see WP:SPAM and WP:NPOV. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:09, 13 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The Como Brothers Band Deletion

[edit]

Dear NawlionWiki,

I do not understand why The Como Brothers Band Wikipedia page was deleted. I contested the deletion and it appears no one even looked at my objections. I request this page be restored. Read through the page and you will see that all information being relayed can be verified by third party persons. All facts written are referenced and sources are clearly outlined. All material is objective and unbiased. This page was not created for the promotion/advertisement of any person, place or product. It is simply ridiculous that I have no one to contact in matters regarding the deletion of the page. The Wikipedia page is needed to clarify information regarding the nature of the band, history, and its verified web sources. The band needs a source to relay which information is accurate as there have been several discrepancies. The Como Brothers Band has an imdb http://www.imdb.com/name/nm6398859/

It has multiple reviews of their albums and performances from outside parties. To name a few:

Brian Lion of Under The Gun Review has praised the album, stating, "Pretty much the whole of Baby Steps is catchy as hell".[1] Brian Weidy of IX Daily’s reviewed the album, writing, "The Como Brothers Band excels on their debut".[2] Joshua Smotherman of Middle Tennessee Music writes, “Baby Steps includes track after track of grade A++ quality songwriting, musicianship, and originality” [3] James Wilson of My Random Jukebox speaks of Matt and Andrew’s songwriting abilities, stating, “How the music is put together alongside the catchy lyrics is a credit to their songwriting ability (which I think is their biggest talent)”.[4] I Am Entertainment Magazine wrote, “It’s just a matter of time before these guys explode into the mainstream”.[5] Please help me to resolve this problem. Please add my article back

[edit]

Hi, recently you have deleted my article KingBob. I have proof that he is a real person if you search his facebook page for Sourab Bobby Ganna. In our school he has a huge following for his varsity basketball skills. Please add this page back! I am a proven member on the wikipedia star wars fanon page under the username Darth Ultima and I have spent over 200 hours writing articles and editing. I feel that you deleting my page almost immediately ruins the legitimacy of this website because there are a lot of people unknown. Wikipedia gives them the option to be known. Please add my article back because I have provided proof of his existence and merits. When there are articles on fictional characters, why can I not create an article about a real one. Please add this article back because otherwise it is an abuse of your powers.

Suspected sock farm

I looked into Wikipedia:Help desk#Multiple user pages, all basically the same and saw you have blocked some but far from all users at Special:WhatLinksHere/George Molsbarger. You also found some not linking there such as User:Shebazones. The accounts quickly make 10-20 similar edits so somebody may be trying to build a large autoconfirmed sock farm. DDnard

[edit]

Dear NawlinWiki, with reference to your speedy deletion of the DDnard page, I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on why the subject did not meet the notability criterion, and how this can be rectified. I am always careful when creating a Wiki to abide by the guidelines and believed that this particular entry satisfied them. The subject is a bestselling author (1.4million copies worldwide and counting) and is one of Thailand's most popular, if not the most popular, author and self-help gurus. She is also a leading entrepreneur and public figure in Thailand, who regularly appears in the national media. I have cited numerous secondary sources (albeit, most in Thai) that support these claims, and they are from reliable and editorially independent. These include an interview with a prime-time Thai TV chat show (one of many), and an extended feature on DDnard in a legitimate, mainstream Thai magazine. These meet the 'significant coverage' criterion, and there are numerous other Thai articles, from multiple sources, that I could cite to further illustrate the subject's notability. DDnard is to Thailand what, say, Tony Robbins is to America, or Paul McKenna is to the UK, and her international profile is rising rapidly. I look forward to hearing from you. Gruntfuttock115 (talk) 09:48, 2 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • I will need to translate and look at the Thai sources. The only English one, Frost magazine, appears to be a PR blog that will post anyone's advertorials unedited. I'll get back to you. NawlinWiki (talk) 13:00, 2 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Nawlin. In the meantime I will look for more English-language secondary sources. Gruntfuttock115 (talk) 09:39, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dear NawlinWiki, I wanted to see how the translation of the Thai sources was going. Also, I have more English-language sources now, so am keen to revise the DDnard Wiki. I look forward to hearing from you Gruntfuttock115 (talk) 14:15, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Nawlin, Grenada (small island in the Caribbean) is finally catching up with the rest of the world by having a Music Publishing company. I really want to document this, so I intend to attempt my first article once again, hopefully in a less solicitous manner. This note is just to ask please for your patience and not to be blocked, as I have read is the policy, if it takes me more tries than I'd care to confess. It is not my intention to be difficult, I am simply new to creating content on Wikipedia. I will continue to read the recommended articles and may follow some examples of others. In the interim, I welcome any and all advice.

Thank you for understanding.

RozelleMcB (talk) 10:26, 2 April 2014 (UTC)RozelleMcB[reply]

  • I'm not planning on blocking you. But even if this is the first company of its kind in Grenada, we can't have an article on it unless it is shown to be notable (see WP:CORP) by reliable, independent sources (see WP:V). Also, it appears from the name of the company that it is your own company. If so, you shouldn't be writing the article about it. See Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Wiki Page Deleted - Southside Wrestling Entertainment

[edit]

Hi NawlinWiki. I've made several changes to my contribution for Southside Wrestling Entertainment which can currently be found in my sandbox - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Cobystag/sandbox - Please could you have a quick look and advise as to whether the article has been written to Wikipedia's standards as of yet? And if not, what I can do to improve? Thank you. Cobystag (talk) 13:31, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi NawlinWiki. I have links to an article written by rohwrestling.com (Ring Of Honor being an American promotion existing since 2002 with it's own wiki page) about an upcoming match they co-promoted with Southside and an announcement made by Fighting Spirit Magazine for a future Southside match, FSM also being a monthly magazine published in England since 2006. So I thought them to be pretty mainstream if that point could be argued? Thank you for the reply tho, I really would like to get this article printed for the time and effort I'm putting forth and I want it to deserve it's spot on wiki. Cobystag (talk) 15:44, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi NawlinWiki, could you please respond to the above if possible? I do have two links to mainstream sources as you cited earlier. If Ring Of Honor and Fighting Spirit Magazine are considered mainstream (for wrestling) would that not be the justification for a page for Southside to be created? Thank you for your time Cobystag (talk) 10:29, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi NawlinWiki, the ROH article was written as it was the first time their title belt was defended outside of North America. The event has since passed and the match took place. Would that not be justification of significant coverage? Thank you for your time. Cobystag (talk) 21:27, 12 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

CorePower Yoga Deletion

[edit]

Hi NawlinWiki,

I'm curious as to why you deleted the CorePower Yoga article. CorePower Yoga is the largest yoga company in the United States, with nearly 100 studios in 11 states. It is extremely influential to the U.S. yoga community and this company, directly and indirectly, affects hundreds of thousands of yoga practitioners. They also appear almost daily in mainstream media across the country[6][7][8][9][10][11]. I believe this company meets the notability requirements.

I did not have the opportunity to view the article before it was deleted, so I'm not certain as to its quality. Due to a conflict of interest, I have refrained from writing an article about this company myself and have been diligently asking for another editor to create the article for a long time. I'm a little disheartened to see it deleted so quickly. Thanks for your insight.

  • The article needs to be written in neutral language. Copy such as "where he drives the creative vision and business development opportunities" is promotional, not neutral. See [{WP:NPOV]]. NawlinWiki (talk) 19:39, 7 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of "reggae-punk"

[edit]

Why would you delete my article, "Reggae-punk"? It's obviously a genre. It's a fusion between reggae and punk. Who cares if there's only one band that's popular for it? Why would you delete a obviously legit genre and claim that I "made it up"? "Reggae-punk" is a commonly-used term to describe the musical style of The Police. Just because you've never heard of it, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Just because I failed to provide references (which I could easily provide), it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. There can be a genre that does not exist at all, but because of random sources found by the user, it stays on Wikipedia. Dark metal for example. If you seriously don't believe that it's a genre, please tell me what genre you would consider Outlandos D'Amour? — Preceding unsigned comment added by ElectricFuneralFog (talkcontribs) 20:32, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Also, it's not enough for you to be "real", or for you to say your website is "important". Deleted Page of Tours Company

[edit]

You have speedily removed my page which I am a bit disappointed about. I followed a similar page's (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iknow-UK) format but did not go into details about the specific products, just about the history, business model of the company. I can be even more generic, do you have a good example page I can use as a template to inform people of the business? It would be great to understand more, as I don't feel the original page was either advertising or promotional.

Thanks for your time.

Updated: I am about to update the page with a new version which I hope meets your requirements. Please feedback your thoughts.

Opus Solutions

[edit]

Hi NawlinWiki,

Thanks for your comments on my Talk page. I had the following points, which I would request your feedback:

1. We uploaded a corporate logo earlier today for Opus Software Solutions. We were in the process of submitting the copyright email to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org. We now see that the logo is missing. Is there a reason this was removed?

2. One of my company's co-founders, by the name of Paresh Banerjee - his name was removed from the Founder(s) section. He is mentioned in our corporate website as well: http://www.opussoft.com/aboutus/team.php. Not sure why this was removed.

3. Under the Subsidiary section, the information that our subsidiary "ElectraCard Services was acquired by MasterCard on May 19, 2014 for an undisclosed amount" was removed. Any reason this was removed?

4. Under TYPE, Opus Software Solutions is a private firm. This was changes to Public. Any reason this was changed?

5. Under KEY PEOPLE, the name S Subramaniam was changed to Ramasubramaniam. That is his complete name. Any reason this was reverted to S Subramaniam?

I wanted to understand where we went wrong so that we do not repeat it. We do not plan to use this for sales purposes, but rather to have a wikipedia presence like any other company. If you are able to guide us, we will be much obliged.

Thank you - Opus — Preceding unsigned comment added by Opus mukund (talkcontribs) 21:47, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like the user only made two edits, the first to update an article, but without providing a source, and the second to post a message on the talk page of the user who reverted their edit, around the same time that talk page was being vandalised. Wrongly deleted article

[edit]

Dear Sir: You deleted an article (Eurhytmy) wich is a new scientific concept developed by a group of researchers from CEFCUL (http://cfcul.fc.ul.pt/) lead by J. Croca (http://cfcul.fc.ul.pt/equipa/jcroca.php) an awarded Physicist (Galileo-Santilli Prize 2008). The same article in Portuguese was deleted buy an English reviewer and I thought that it was a language issue. You said that this article was an obvious invention. Well, I am not sure what do you mean by invention. Maybe you are right, since this concept didn't exist before our work. However, we would like to see it labelled as a discovery rather that invention. Anyway, please, check this up, with a little more time, and I am sure that you will find that this is a real article, resulting from a scientific research process. My contact is ricsal@uab.pt .Thank you so much for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ricsal2000 (talkcontribs) 17:00, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker)There does appear to be a couple of sources by that Croca fellow, but only by him. Doesn't meet the WP:GNG, as far as I can tell. Ian.thomson (talk) 17:06, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It may be "real", but we need to wait until reliable sources, independent of the publisher of Croca's articles, report on this concept. See WP:V and WP:NOR. This is the cause of another problem with the article: it is not written in a neutral fashion, but in a tone which accepts the concept as true and important, and argues why it is accurate. That's not appropriate here, see WP:NPOV. NawlinWiki (talk) 02:25, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Shine Entertainment Media

[edit]

I'm not sure why you keep deleting the Shine Entertainment Media page. I know I have advertised in the past but I have deleted the insertions of the company name on client pages and made the company page extremely neutral. Deletion of Bent Paddle Brewing Company

Regarding your request for deletion of Bent Paddle Brewing Company, the article cites a number of quality sources such as newspapers and magazines (both local and more regional). Deletion of Dario Brignole

[edit]

Hello, I wrote to you about Shine and it seems like you completely ignored me. I was unaware that the links were considered spam and have already stopped doing that, I was just doing as I was told my boss. I would like to know why Dario is not notable, given the links I provided and extensive client list on the website and Shine page (which you deleted). I am willing to work on the pages so they can stay on Wikipedia. Shine is not a PR Agency, but rather a marketing agency. I know for a fact there are companies that hire PR agencies so they can be on Wikipedia (I spoke to someone offering me that service today), so I don't understand why the fact that I am an intern of the company matters given I have kept a neutral point of view in my articles. I would really appreciate a reply from you. Best regards, Lcrocha (talk) 22:40, 28 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • The fact that Shine has notable clients doesn't make it, or its president, notable. There needs to be independent coverage that shows that the article subject is notable (otherwise, Kanye West's janitor would have a page). The fact that we keep having these arguments is a perfect illustration of why you should not be editing articles where you and your employer have a business interest in presenting them in a positive light, see WP:COI. NawlinWiki (talk) 14:29, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I provided several external links and references to CNN interviews and articles with Dario (I don't think Kanye's janitor has those). Indeed, I have an interest that Shine is represented in a positive light, but what's the difference between me, an unpaid intern, updating the page, and paying a PR firm to do it? The same way I might have that interest (which I am able to contain), anyone paying a PR firm thousands of dollars will want their company seen in a positive light. Companies like William Morris Endeavor and IMG have in-house PR teams who update their Wikipedia pages, so I am really struggling to understand why we can't have ours. I know they are much bigger companies and may have had more independent coverage, but there is no reason why a smaller company with smaller (but still existing) media presence can be on this list. Again, I am willing to work with you if you find my articles biased. Kind regards Lcrocha (talk) 15:29, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Can you just salt that page? It's been repeatedly created and recreated. Thanks. Whispering 20:23, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable sources for Lundons Bridge

[edit]

I have other sources like http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/entertainment/2011/12/paris-jackson-lands-debut-movie-role/

or

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2071937/Michael-Jacksons-daughter-Paris-set-star-film.html

or

http://www.ellentv.com/2011/12/15/find-out-more-about-lundons-bridge-and-the-three-keys/

that show that Lundons Bridge is a real movie. Would these count as reliable sources and if not, then what counts? could I please have my article back?

You can literally purchase the book for sites like amazon. Does this not prove that Lundons bridge is a legit thing?

  • No, "it exists" is not the same as "it is notable because it has been covered by reliable independent sources." I've asked you more than once to read WP:V. If you can't do that, there's not much point in your continuing to ask me questions. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:22, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
