I have 5 in-depended refs and i spend 10 hours at http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=wikipedia-en-help for making it better. Authorities there approved it can be listed so i tried. Can you please explain me what more do you want ? I have ref to gamespot which is a trusted source at wikipedia. Also there are many same genre games listed with 0 refs. Because refs do not come if you don't spend millions of $ for advertising. For example this game is listed with almost 0 content and 0 ref : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dugout-Online — Preceding unsigned comment added by ShareToGain (talkcontribs) 16:10, 9 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

CVISION

Hi NawlinWiki. I noticed that the CVISION Technologies page was recently taken down after I posted it. I was wondering why it was taken down because I have credible sources. We are an international company that has been in business for over 10 years. If you could give me any help as to how to create a page that will not be taken down, it will be greatly appreciated. Kcal17 (talk) 15:26, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have read through the notability and independence of resources information you provided me with and I believe that the sources I have used for the CVISION page to fall under any of the unacceptable guidelines. None of the references used were created by CVISION or edited by CVISION. I have looked at other companies pages such as LuraTech, which do not have any outside resources, other than their website and their wiki page is still up. Please let me know. DYNAMIC MEDIA

Hi - I saw that you reoved the Dynamic Media page I just posted. I was wondering why it was taken down as I made the changes based on the direction of the prior editor (Darkfallen - I think)? Could you give me suggestions or help on how to reach the notability standards? I believe I have those in the references based on leading sites in the industry. Thanks for your time. Also, just saw your comment regarding "the two were inspired by their passion for music" as not allowed as it is advertising. This is sourced and very similiar to the Starbucks page that states "The three were inspired by entrepreneur Alfred Peet (whom they knew personally) to sell high-quality coffee beans and equipment". Again - just looking for some pointers so I can fully understand and draft correctly. Thanks Ryanpebble (talk) 16:24, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Page Deleted?

Hi, I am SaluteChicken you deleted my page about my Micronation of St. Robertsburg because you claimed it was a "Blatant Hoax". I have re-made the page and I was not claiming it to be a "nation" it's a Micronation and not a hoax. I have given more information stating it's a micronation. I have more information on St. Robertsburg to prove it's genuine:

Wiki Patroller
Hello, im Gio Provenzano, how are you? You recently deleted an article on Ryan M. Place from Detroit. Thank you for patrolling Wikipedia but i feel that Mr. Place is a notable person and worthy of being included, he's sort of a local legend in Michigan and nationally well-known in the film and writing communities. Mr. Place runs a film company, works for the Michigan Film Office, worked for DreamWorks on Transformers 3, he writes news articles as a freelance journalist, etc. I made the Ryan M. Place wiki page and cited reliable, independent sources and his prolific contributions to film and writing. Could you please un-delete his page or let me know what else is needed to qualify him? Thanks again NawlinWiki, take care! Giovanni Provenzano 21:57, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi NawlinWiki. The article was deleted because it was empty and no sources available. Today I recreated it with a translation tag to another Wikipedia full of references. Please, restore my edit. Best regards. emijrp (talk) 17:28, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That is not the question. You deleted a stub that links to a valid article in another Wikipedia with references. That kind of stubs are allowed here. --emijrp (talk) 20:57, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Beg Bicycles

Hi NawlinWiki - wow, that was a really speedy deletion. Could you reinstate the entry, after all it's just a stub at the moment! It's perfectly in line with all the other bike manufacturer entries - and it's a new range so you may agree that it has to start somewhere, plus other "bikers" need the chance now to pick up on it and fill it out (along the lines of "Contributors sometimes create pages over several edits, so administrators should avoid deleting a page that appears incomplete too soon after its creation.") - Ta, KursaalFlier kursaalflier (PS no excretions mentioned!) —Preceding undated comment added 22:41, 6 January 2012 (UTC).[reply]

  • There was no indication in the article that this company, founded only in 2011, met the notability requirements of WP:CORP. Nor were any independent sources cited per WP:V. Finally, the article is written in promotional language, with phrases like "The range of Beg bicycles are vintage-inspired but manufactured using the very latest in bicycle technology." See WP:SPAM. NawlinWiki (talk) 03:44, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, understood. Technical question then: if it gets stripped down/added to as per your concerns above, would that bring it into line with what a stub should be? I erroneously thought I was creating one but didn't use a stub template, obviously! - Ta, KursaalFlier kursaalflier Kursaalflier (talk) 10:42, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, that should have read "assessment template". Kursaalflier (talk) 10:58, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, if you can find independent sources showing notability per WP:CORP, and if you can write the article in neutral language, you can repost. NawlinWiki (talk) 12:33, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Yogscast

I am calling for the re-adding of the Yogscast's page. They now have 1.4 million subscribers on YouTube and are #1 in the UK. I am pretty sure that is eligible for a wiki page. To start off with, put a silver padlock on the page for a test. DeadlyDuck (talk) 18:48, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:Eva Premkumar, who you just blocked, removed the block notice and replaced it with the same self-promotion that had been there before. Thanks. Yes, I've seen the last couple of recreations and tagged some of them for deletion. I'm glad you blocked the user, though, as I was starting to think I was going to have to go to go through a variety of complicated procedures (AIV wouldn't have worked because every time the article was deleted the warnings from the moved user talk page went with it) to end the recreations.--Opus 113 (talk) 20:35, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

PlayStation 4

Hi, NawlinWiki. I have an inquiry about a PlayStation 4 article, considering that you were the one who deleted the article several times in the past. I noticed that it is a locked title, so it will take a reversal of that to make the article again. I was wondering, considering that sources point to a relatively near-future unveiling, if the name could be unlocked so we might create a re-direct page, in the very least, to the PlayStation series page and have it go under the section of "Unannounced Upcoming Console", or something of that nature? I could understand if otherwise, but considering that there were pages for the Wii-U and more recently, the Xbox 720. DarthBotto talkcont 06:27, 09 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Question

As you're the "expert of all trolls", I'm asking who this person I see in the edit filter adding tons of links and making strange lists is. (It says "Verizon vandal", but that isn't really specific...) HurricaneFan25 18:42, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This appears to be related to my question. I saw an IP editor who had made two edits to List of Little Einsteins episodes... One to add a line break and one to format two paragraphs. Neither of these edits were remotely vandalism and neither seemed inappropriate in any way. I'm guessing you must be able to provide more context here? Catfish Jim and the soapdish 19:17, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm still a bit confused here... the edit in question doesn't appear to have involved any wikification at all, and the "nonsense list" appears to be a song from the episode in question. See [6] Catfish Jim and the soapdish 20:01, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The wikifications are in the edits blocked by Filter 405. Also, the Verizon vandal specializes in edits to kids' TV shows. Between those and the IP being in the Verizon range, I am confident that this is the same vandal. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:03, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ergun Kuran

Hey Nawlinwiki, you deleted Ergun Kuran but he is an important person in Turkey, he was the chairman of TUPRAS which you can find in wikipedia!! Mkuran93 (talk) 00:44, 13 January 2012 (UTC) MKURAN[reply]

(talk page stalker)NawlinWiki does not appear to be online now. The fact that he was the chairman is not a valid reason for notability. You cited no sources (needed for notability, and since it was about a living person, we couldn't keep it. If you are related to this person or the person himself, you must exercise some caution on this topic.Jasper Deng (talk) 00:47, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I understand your concern, however, a lot of living people have wikipedia articles, I was going to add a lot of sources but I wasn't done before you deleted it, what do I have to do to get this up? Mkuran93 (talk) 00:50, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

We expect final drafts in the article space. In addition, we cannot be too flattering of article subjects. When I searched about this person on Google, however, I did not find enough sources for notability.Jasper Deng (talk) 00:53, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

So being a chairman of Turkeys only oil refining company and being the board member of a petroleum company which is one of the richest companies in Turkey is not enough to have an article on wikipedia?? Mkuran93 (talk) 00:55, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, unless you can also cite adequate sources. See WP:CITE. You may want to start with the manual of style.Jasper Deng (talk) 00:58, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I can cite sources from these addresses http://www.poas.com.tr/PO_pdf/faaliyet_raporlari/POAS_1H08_Faaliyet%20Raporu.pdf, http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-75085327.html, http://www.milliyet.com.tr/1997/11/17/haber/cil.html,http://bigpara.ekolay.net/haber-detay/genel/genel-mudur-m-ergun-kuran-otomatik-fiyatlandirmamodeli--tuprasi-kara-gecirecek-/312630.asp... These are four article headlines that I found with a simple google search, there are many more (Mkuran93 (talk) 01:05, 13 January 2012 (UTC))[reply]

We don't consider that enough for notability and prefer, in general, English sources. Pay-to-view websites cannot, in general, be used either. The last link is broken.Jasper Deng (talk) 01:06, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This person is Turkish, thus the sources SHOULD BE Turkish. If you make a google search for Ergun Kuran Tupras or Ergun Kuran Petrol Ofisi you can find numerous articles. If you claim that this person shouldn't have a wikipedia article, that means that you're saying that the articles written are unnecessary (Mkuran93 (talk) 01:10, 13 January 2012 (UTC))[reply]

I realized that, but since such a company is likely to be global, surely there are English sources? (I didn't find many of those). Wikipedia has different requirements for articles, and it's a lot to learn at once.Jasper Deng (talk) 01:12, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The company is not global, therefore turkish articles are the only articles. Also the companies EK worked for are in wikipedia(Mkuran93 (talk) 01:15, 13 January 2012 (UTC))[reply]

Save it for the Turkish Wikipedia then, unless you can make sure that the Turkish sources all can be deciphered by the common English speaker. His companies' articles don't get him an article himself.Jasper Deng (talk) 01:21, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If I get permission I will keep on wirting, also people who will be reading this will most likely be Turkish and for the english speakers, they can translate the articles, Thank you... How do I keep on writing it (Mkuran93 (talk) 01:24, 13 January 2012 (UTC))[reply]

It'll have to be userfied, and that's beyond my reach because only administrators like NawlinWiki can restore deleted articles.Jasper Deng (talk) 01:27, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes but there are a number of english articles on EK as well such as http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/default.aspx?pageid=438&n=tupras-want-more-iraqi-oil-1997-09-30 ( Mkuran93 (talk) 01:42, 13 January 2012 (UTC) )[reply]

The Journal Avant

I see the page has been deleted. Two questions: - it's a registered international academic journal, and it has a page on the Polish Wiki, hope that if I indicate that it is reason enough to keep it? Or at least vote for it? I mean similar reasons seem to be sufficient in a lot of other cases. - could you revert the page for say 24h, or link to an archived version, or really anything that would save me the work I've already done once, typing the info in and editing it? I'd really appreciate that. Thanks in advance. Bur.st Networking

Hello Nawlin,

my article on Bur.st Networking was deleted. Bur.st is an Australian community isp with 2000 users and has been around for 13 years. I think it is worthy of a wiki article. I am not trying to promote bur.st (it's actually closing down) and I am not on the committee and have nothing to do with the committee so the purpose of this article is not promotion. Can you please have another look at bur.st and the article and re assess.

Page Deleted

Hello NawlinWiki,

You deleted the article I had written, about a project called Podium Jeunes Stylistes. You had marked it as ‎G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion, which I completely agree with, since I had simply copied and pasted that text coming from the company itself, to have a starting point for the article, intending to come back to it later on to edit it before publishing it. I didn't realize that the article would be published right away or be treated as if published if I only saved it to my account, without clicking 'publish'. I rewrote the article though and I do believe that this is a worthy topic to be published in Wikipedia because it is a very interesting contest that supports the next generation of designers. Is there any way I could get it looked over, to make sure it's okay?

I hope this is the right place to contact you and I'm sorry about the inconveniences.

Best, MadonnaMona (Rookie) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Madonnamona (talkcontribs) 14:33, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi NawlinWiki,

I completely understand that that happens a lot. I inserted the text into the box. If I click save now, will it be published? I would like for someone to look over it and make sure it corresponds with the Wikipedia regulations and if it doesn't, to get feedback on what to change. Thank you for all of your efforts! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Madonnamona (talkcontribs) 15:20, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

    • If you click Save now, the text will be saved to your userspace. Because it's there and not in article space, you should be able to work on it without interference. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Best, NawlinWiki (talk) 15:22, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Great, thank you! Last question: Where do I put it to be looked over to tell me if it is okay? Or can it be accessed through the userspace draft? Best, MM
  • So the most important and essential information is included in the article. I'm still working on including sources but they are quite a few that it takes a while. The 'copyright violation' here was a cut-and-paste from Medal of Honor (2010 video game). But I agree that it ought to be deleted per WP:CRYSTAL, so, not that important why, really. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 16:10, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi NawlinWiki, I'm guessing you didn't see my edit before, since it wasn't all the way in the bottom -- my apologies. Here is wha I wrote before: The most important and essential information is included in the article. I'm still working on including sources but they are quite a few so it takes a while. Do you want me to post the whole article in here or can you access it through the UserSpaceDraft? I really appreciate your time and hope to get the hang of this soon enough. Requesting IP block

Hi Nawlin. When repairing vandalism today to James Cash Penney and preparing to issue a warning to the IP evildoer I noticed you had already given that IP (173.61.110.14) their final warning on January 4th. Just a "heads up" so you can follow through with blocking the little critters since they obviously didn't learn. Thanks and have a great Wiki kind of day! I understand that this was deleted as it was not made clear that it was a real group of real people. I added a link to the very first reference of L.A.M.A to the international homepage. Tercer cielo

Hey tercer cielo is a good article be in spanish wikipedia is an group of music Carliitaeliza (talk) 14:43, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The group is manifestly notable and the article should be restored. Even a search on Wikipedia shows that. They have been nominated for numerous major awards, their members have been in numerous collaborations, and they have been involved in major productions. It is clear the group has received substantial coverage in reliable independent sources. Please restore the article so it can be expanded. Thanks. Candleabracadabra (talk) 16:03, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Other than an infobox, this was the entire content of the deleted article:

Tercer cielo is an group of Pop music created in 2000 for the dominicans Juan Carlos Rodríguez & Marcos yaroide. In 2005,Yaroide forsaked the group

Not really worth restoring this - better to start over. NawlinWiki (talk) 16:07, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why were these deleted Nawlin? Please advise

One of my students submitted a number of articles which were apparently deleted due to "unambiguous advertising.." which was never the intention. As these were modelled specifically on similar topics already accepted, we would appreciate it if you would review and please advise what specifically was considered "unambiguous advertising" please - so corrections can be made  (Deletion log); 04:05 . . NawlinWiki (talk | contribs)‎ deleted "Relational Marketing" (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion)  (Deletion log); 04:05 . . NawlinWiki (talk | contribs)‎ deleted "Dr Brian Monger" (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion)  (Deletion log); 04:04 . . NawlinWiki (talk | contribs)‎ deleted "Offer Life Cycle" (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion) The second item "Dr Brian Monger" was modelled on the article on Philip Kotler. Where is the unambiguous adveretising then? Both other submissions are on significant marketing topics not so far addressed in Wikipedia All information is referenced and can be verified Obviously we are not experts at this and would appreciate your advice Please advise us what we can do (specifically) to resolve this situation.

  • Because it was a campaign ad. "the proud parents of four wonderful children"; "he is deeply committed to improving the quality of life in Northwest Ohio", and more. See WP:SPAM and WP:NPOV. Also, the article didn't indicate that he has yet done anything notable per our guidelines at WP:BIO. Being a candidate for the state legislature is not an indication of notability. Transformational Leadership Council

I notice that you have deleted this article a couple of times today. I researched the organisation some time ago while trying to assist a user who is a member. I determined that it is a 99 member private members club that invites its members to join. I researched it in google and found no references in reliable sources in at least the first 100 Ghits. I'm hoping you have it on your watch list since the article has been userfied and will doubtless reappear several times more. You will see some thoughts on it in the discussion here, which you may find of interest. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 21:16, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Umbrella media worke

Dear editor, Today I created an article Umbrella media worke, which was deleted by you giving some reason that has came as a shock and is hard to accept. Article was written keeping in mind wikipedia directions. It was totally neutral with verifiable citations. I sent the links to other editors so that they could contribute and make it better. But they were unable to access it as it was deleted. Please help me understand the requirement. Thanks & Regards Trigger.o.metry (talk) 17:34, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please try to understand that for developing nations, it is very difficult to appear green on notability scale. And you would agree with me that there are many such articles on wiki that are not notable, i can cite links if you may like. Notability is subjective that requires time to establish. May be something is notable for A but not for B. The edit invites were sent to editors of prominent newspapers in New Delhi, requesting them to add information that would make this article an encyclopedic reference. As a wikipedian from a fellow wikipedian, Seeking your guidance in 'how to make it more notable?' Thanks & Regards Trigger.o.metry (talk) 17:45, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • Dear Editor,

I have content coming in from sources that would help establish articles notability. But again, don't you think we should have article present so that collectively we could improve its quality for future reference. I understand that wikipedia articles are highest in standard and quality, and that is only because of all the hard work and labour poured in by editors like you. Need your feedback and suggestion on this. Thanks and regards, Trigger.o.metry (talk) 17:53, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Ok[reply]

RevDel request

Would you please RevDel this edit per criterion #2?-JayJasper (talk) 19:28, 27 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and this one as well, by same user (now blocked).--JayJasper (talk) 19:35, 27 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker) Neither of those meets the criteria for RevDel—as a rule of thumb, it should be so disruptive, so disgusting, or so libellous that only administrators should ever be allowed to see it. That means it has to be more than just rude words (more, even, than taboo words not used in polite conversation). Remember, this is a wiki—everything should be open unless it must be hidden. To use a example I used recently, a non-admin wishing to review the block of that user would be unable to if those revisions were deleted, and hiding things from that (or any other) user that don't absolutely need to be hidden is harmful to our principles of openness. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:43, 27 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Are racial slurs not "so disruptive, so disgusting, or so libellous that only administrators should ever be allowed to see it"? Criterion #2: (italics mine) "Grossly insulting, degrading, or offensive material.....This includes slurs, smears, and grossly offensive material of little or no encyclopedic value". IMO, they should meet the critera for RevDel, but I will defer to the judgement of admins. more experienced in these matters. Anyway, thanks for commenting.--JayJasper (talk) 21:00, 27 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The overwhelming majority of vandalism would fit a broad interpretation of RD2 or RD3 and ClueBot racks up a million edits a year all by itself, so you can see why RevDel is explicitly not for "normal" vandalism and only for those things that aren't just unpleasant, but gross. For example, one of my most recent uses of RD2 was to remove an accusation of paedophilia. In this case, it's about context—I could spend a year RevDel'ing every occurrence of "nigger" or "cunt" or any of a dozen other taboo words that 14-year-olds think it's funny to add to articles and still not get them all, so a simple test would be to ask whether you would ask for RevDel if it was a word other than "nigger", because just using a taboo word or using a word with racial connotations doesn't raise it above the level of the silly schoolboy vandalism we all see every day. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:55, 27 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clarifying things, HJ. That makes sense. I can now see why it wouldn't be "economical" to RevDel every instance of slurs or rude words illicitly placed in namespace pages. I would hope, however, that such slurs would be routinely erased from public view when placed on user & talk pages and specifically directed at fellow users.--JayJasper (talk) 05:04, 29 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This page (Pepper Chomsky, Author) should not be speedy deleted because...

Hi Nawlin wiki...I am a wiki-newbie and am making some progress in understanding your culture. I know there have been several deletions of the Pepper Chomsky page. I want to clear up the problems. In 2004 Pepper worked with Lenny Bloom and Sherman Skolnick http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherman_Skolnick to co-produce the Canadian radio show named "Cloak & Dagger". As well, the book Among the Truthers - A fact from Among the Truthers appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know? column on 7 June 2011 - covers Pepper and his work on the John Lennon murder http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_John_Lennon. Pepper's book is titled "Code Code Peace" and first appeared in ebook form Dec. 31, 2011. Pepper has appeared as a radio guest in Canada and USA. These pages have been deleted:

 * 04:07, 29 January 2012 NawlinWiki (talk | contribs) deleted "Pepper Chomsky" ‎ (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion)
 * 05:38, 27 January 2012 Acroterion (talk | contribs) deleted "Pepper Chomsky" ‎ (G12: Unambiguous copyright infringement: promotion)
 * 05:12, 27 January 2012 Acroterion (talk | contribs) deleted "Pepper Chomsky" ‎ (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion)

See what you think of my revised text: ""Pepper Chomsky"" is a Canadian Cryptographer and Author of the book “CODE CODE PEACE” [1]. He has conducted interviews with pop stars and rock journalists, people who knew John Lennon and lived with him.[2] In 1996, he deciphered a code in John Lennon’s song Mind Games that led to the theory behind John Lennon’s murder that links Lennon to the unexpected death of Alan Watts on November 16, 1973. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allan_Watts Pepper Chomsky has also discovered a video image believed to be Mark David Chapman in Beirut, Lebanon. The video has been reviewed by Lois Gibson of Houston P.D. facial recognition expert noted in the Guiness World Book of Records, and Animetrics Inc. suppliers of facial recognition software to law enforcement agencies world-wide, including the US Defense Department. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chauncey_Marvin_Holt#Forensic_expert_Lois_Gibson Jonathan Kay managing editor of the National Post and author of “Among the Truthers” has referred to him as “A Canadian conspiracy theorist who says he has spent 16 years writing a psychically-inspired book about the “mysterious” circumstances surrounding the death of John Lennon.” [3] References: [1] Published on Amazon for Kindle, December 31, 2011 by Pepper Publishing, Toronto. [2] Chomsky interviewed Ronnie Hawkins http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronnie_Hawkins and Ritchie Yorke http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ritchie_Yorke over a 2-year period [3] published on Jonathan Kay’s “Among the Truthers” page http://amongthetruthers.com/ D Senater (talk) 15:13, 29 January 2012 (UTC)D Senater[reply]

  • This text still appears to be advocating that Chomsky's arguments are accurate, rather than presenting information about Chomsky in a neutral fashion. See WP:NPOV. The self-published ebook is not a claim to notability. And Wikipedia itself is not a valid source for another Wikipedia article. See WP:V. NawlinWiki (talk) 16:09, 29 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
