[edit]Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Sharon Keenan. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:
|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]
Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:
|image=SomeImage.jpg
.
There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption
. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! [edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Draft:Sharon Keenan, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. UtherSRG (talk) 13:28, 7 December 2022 (UTC)

AfC notification: Draft:Sharon Keenan has a new comment
[edit]- Hi Hoary, I'm fairly new to this article writing so I will explain as best I can on your points. The first one on whether Sharon Keenan is a person of note, she is not "famous" in the sense of a lot of artists as we know most are never recognised in their own time like a lot of other creators...but, Sharon Keenan does have quite a few works on public display in England, and in Gibraltar; both of which have been cited from other independent sources such as the Gibraltar Government website for Admiral Rooke for example, and plaque in the City of London (cited) by another user. So, for this reason she is a person of note.
- The references to "by Sharon Keenan web" (I cleared these up) was a title name reference and is not her website which she does not have one, they are all independent links sources which you can see if you follow them on the link.
- Going back to person of note. She is a notable artist from the 20th century with many works of art pictures and sculptures, and even a range of ships head figurines that she created for Royal Doulton (cited), and she is woman artist which, you may or may agree, women are still not represented enough in the art world and probably Wikipedia. So that is the reasoning behind the article. Thanks. NatrualEdit1888 (talk) 22:44, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
- "Notable", from the wiki perspective, is another thing entirely than what you seem to think it is. Please check out WP:NARTIST for what is needed to show notability for an artist to have an article in this encyclopedia. - UtherSRG (talk) 02:16, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
- I saw that under the WP:NARTITST that if the (Creator) person has:
- The person's work (or works) has: (a) become a significant monument, (b) been a substantial part of a significant exhibition, (c) won significant critical attention, or (d) been represented within the permanent collections of several notable galleries or museums.
- In the article I expressly refer the statue "Admiral George Rooke" which was commissioned by the Government of Gibraltar and is also mentioned on the page of his Wiki Biography. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Rooke#/media/File:Rooke_1704.jpg NatrualEdit1888 (talk) 18:05, 10 December 2022 (UTC)

- Hi,
- The sources for the references are the Government of Gibraltar website, another mentioning her in an article and the wikipage of Admiral Rooke. I was using Wikipedia's advice on "People notable for only one event" which was the public statue of Admiral Rooke. I think it's a notable achievement. NatrualEdit1888 (talk) 15:59, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
- I'm looking at the article as an event....https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(people)
- "The general rule is to cover the event, not the person."
- with reference to the statue which I know the people and Government of Gibraltar are proud of. It was commissioned for the 300 year anniversary. NatrualEdit1888 (talk) 16:03, 14 December 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. I was just reading through the William Conway (Irish republican) article and I note that a significant volume of the content (including about the subject being involved with the GAA, formed a hurling club, died in 1976, received a 21 gun salute at his funeral, etc) is not supported by the linked references. Where does this content "come from"? Please note that editors adding content are expected to support their additions and that unsourced material can be removed at any time. Guliolopez (talk) 13:54, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Guilopez, I have just seen this.
- I am going to try source more information when I can is that ok? NatrualEdit1888 (talk) 14:26, 27 April 2023 (UTC)
- Please do, that would be great. NatrualEdit1888 (talk) 18:01, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
