Headings

[edit]

Hello, MinTrouble. In a recent edit to Linguistic insecurity you added a MOS:PSEUDOHEAD. That is, you used boldface markup to give the appearance of a heading, rather than equals signs (==Like this==) to create actual headings. This can cause problems for screen readers, and is discouraged by the Manual of Style.

I removed the pseudohead and made some other changes to your text. You may want to look at it to make sure I didn't misunderstand what you wrote. Happy editing, Cnilep (talk) 03:29, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Cnilep. I appreciate your help. Peace. MinTrouble (talk) 17:33, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

August 2024

[edit]

Information icon Hi MinTrouble! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Josef Matthias Hauer that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. CurryTime7-24 (talk) 06:39, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Manfred Bierwisch, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Berlin Academy of Sciences. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Information icon Hello, I'm Doniago. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Stephen Fry, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 20:52, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Pedagogical Academy of Vienna moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Pedagogical Academy of Vienna, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Thanks for following up on this and welcome to Women in Red. In connection with further work on biographies, you might find it useful to look through the guidance on our Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Essays/Primer for creating women's biographies. I have taken the liberty of adding the WiR template to your user page where others will be able to see your interest in the project. Please let me know if ever you think I can be of assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 07:09, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Faith Avis requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

R2, see page history at User:MinTrouble/Faith Avis. It appears that the author wants to incubate in userspace

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Nomination of Kyra Belan for deletion

[edit]
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Kyra Belan is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kyra Belan until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.

Bearcat (talk) 17:33, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I honestly thought I was doing the project of Women in Red a service. Kyra Berman was one of the red listed names.
The express deletion of Faith Avis (above) I saw only after the fact. There the idea was to highlight the women who enabled their husbands to become famous. Faith Avis was a newly documented case, one of the early Canadian women with a B.A. I was surprised to read that this would trigger a self-spawning suspicion and express deletion.
I defer in both of these cases to the judgement of others. MinTrouble (talk) 19:14, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please don't be discouraged by this. Many have made the exact same assumption when beginning their editing career, that if a person is on a redlist they are inherently notable. It is absolutely an honest mistake, but please note that each relist states "This list of red links is intended to serve as a basis for creating new articles on the English Wikipedia. Please note however that the red links on this list may well not be suitable as the basis for an article. All new articles must satisfy Wikipedia's notability criteria with reliable independent sources." Best, --WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 18:43, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Information icon Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to ORF (broadcaster) and Am Dam Des. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 21:24, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Sammy Basso

[edit]

On 5 November 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Sammy Basso, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Sammy Basso was the oldest known person with progeria? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Sammy Basso. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Sammy Basso), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Thank you. I am aware of copyright rules, though I may have underestimated the "completely from scratch" principle. I went back to double check on what is at Melania Fogelbaum now and made changes to be on the safe side. Can you tell me which part was flagged and was removed as showing similar wording to another source? I thought I took safeguards not to take over more than generic phrases...
