Hello Marchuli & Happy New Year! I've only recently opened an account and am now about to complete my first article. Once finished, could I possibly ask you to cast an eye on it and/or advise if this is an appropriate request? Tkx for your time & best regards! InsightfulExplorer (talk) 09:09, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hi InsightfulExplorer. Before proceeding any further, I suggest you take a look at the following Wikipedia pages: Wikipedia:The answer to life, the universe, and everything, Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, Wikipedia:Ownership of content, Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons (if writing about a living person) and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest (if writing about someone or something your personally or professionally connected to) for reference. Unless you're able to clearly establish that the subject of your article meets one of Wikipedia's notability guidelines, any attempt to create such an article is likely going to end in deletion regardless of who is trying to do so. If you feel that the subject you want to create an article about is Wikipedia notable, I suggest that you first work on a Wikipedia:Draft by following the guidance given in Help:Your first article, Help:Referencing for beginners and Wikipedia:Writing Wikipedia articles backward by first figuring out the sources you want to base the article on and then building the article around those sources; then, you should submit the draft to Wikipedia:Articles for creation for review once you think it's ready. Doing this gives more experienced Wikipedians a chance to review the draft and offer suggestions on things that still need to be improved. Please understand that creating a new Wikipedia can quite hard for experienced Wikipedians because their are lots of Wikipedia policies and guidelines that need be met. That's why, for new accounts such as yourself, it's often better to work on improving existing articles first because this allows you to see what these policies and guidelines are and how they're being applied by more experienced Wikipedians. Once you get a better feeling for what Wikipedia is about, you be better equipped to apply what you've learned to your draft. Of course, it's not impossible for a completely new account to create a proper article, but many people end up being disappointed when their work ends up deleted for not being in accordance with some policy or guideline. -- Marchjuly (talk) 09:39, 2 January 2024 (UTC)

Question from JesseCan (16:08, 17 January 2024)
I need some assistance. My article has been denied twice by what seems to be amateur, subjective Wikipedia "editors" with no extensive track record like yourself. One other editor with your extensive track record was the only one that provided professional useful feedback. Also, I find it interesting that person did not deny my article, yet two others that seem to have very little experience on Wikipedia compared to him did deny my article for reasons that seem to be "blanket" justifications for denial, especially given the fact that so many other articles that I have read in my research that have FAR more reasons for denial on numerous levels, yet THEY exist. Before I embarked on this project I was told by several of my journalist colleagues that I should stay away from Wikipedia as it is one of the most maddening and frustrating undertakings for a writer and that most Wikipedia "editors" deny without good cause based on their own subjective sentiments. My article was well researched, is completely objective and factual, and is based on a very successful individual, supported by reliable independent sources, and a quick perusal of the individual's website certainly validates his accomplishments and standing in the entertainment industry. Certainly there must be editors at Wikipedia that can see that this article has plenty of merit, especially compared to so many articles that absolutely should NOT be on Wikipedia based on the reasons for the denial of my article. For example, I read an article yesterday where most of the cited sources were from the individuals own website. So much for "independent" references. Any help in getting this article approved would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Jesse Cordova --JesseCan (talk) 16:08, 17 January 2024 (UTC)
Question from E-jetfuel (20:01, 28 January 2024)
hey Marchjuly
I’ve found out that my favourite director (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wes_Hurley) did not have his, in my opinion, best movie not linked (https://fellas.media/potato/index.html). Is the whole page missing or just not linked correctly?
thank you e-jet --E-jetfuel (talk) 20:01, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
Question from Vasuuvasan83 (01:59, 30 January 2024)
Recently, my article on Public Mutual Berhad was deleted due to notability issue. can I know further on how I can fix this issue. I would also like to know if I'm allowed to create an article if the write-up on the company is not in Wikipedia in the first place. Also, would like to know about neutral editors. --Vasuuvasan83 (talk) 01:59, 30 January 2024 (UTC)
