List of fictional deer

I know it's somewhat silly, but I thought you might be interested to see what I've done with the article "List of fictional deer", which you helped to save from "nominated for deletion". Ironically, I had nothing to do with the article until then. I hope you enjoy it. --AuthorityTam (talk) 20:55, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

"The only confusion was, I think we all thought they were women. Kim was obviously a woman, but they all had this shaved-headed, pretty, soft look. And there were lots of lesbian bands at the time, and we always got booked with them, so we just thought the Pixies were another, like maybe they were like angry divorcees or somthing that formed a band.'" - Kristin Hersh

Picture of Lincoln Stedman

I have a picture of Lincoln Stedman which I could upload to the article about him. The picture can be viewed in the Wikipedia article, "One Terrible Day." It is a vidcap from the 1922 Our Gang film, One Terrible Day. Although there is a note in the info box on the Lincoln Stedman page that such pictures will be deleted, this one is OK because films produced before 1923 are public domain. Please give your consideration before I upload the image and give me your response.Perry Hotter (talk) 11:25, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Wikipedia:List of Wikipedians by article count

Thanks, it has been lying about in user space for a while but I've decided that it is probably more important than edit count so should be in the main project space to view. It gives a more accurate reflection than edit count on who is developing the site I think. Dr. Blofeld White cat 11:16, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

I'm gonna be really evil over the next few weeks and add truckloads of stubs on Italian and French films by year. The amount missing for these two counties is particularly tremendous so I'll be filling out the lists with red linked films and just ploughing them. They can be filled out later like Adorables créatures, but blue linking them all does give us something to work with and seems to make it a less daunting task when seeing all those red links. Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:44, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

I've also blue linked Roy Rogers films after it being missing for years. Colorado (1940 film) I've filled out the others need details. Dr. Blofeld White cat 17:46, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

User:Bryan generated the list, I just thought it was worthy of having in the wikipedia space seems as we have related lists. Maybe he can let the others know how he did it! Hope you are well. Dr. Blofeld White cat 18:31, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Notes and References

I noticed that you changed an edit I had made on the Cecilia page. You changed the section I marked as "notes" to "references". I'm not quite sure when those headings should and should not be used, could you explain the difference to me for future reference? Sevault12345 (talk) 13:59, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Just saw this! :) I'm working on rewriting "References" for the guidelines, and I'd like to know your thoughts on the matter, too. —Erik (talkcontrib) 17:48, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Vera Stroyeva

The article Vera Stroyeva has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Hey, hope you're doing well! Some WikiProject Films coordinators are discussing starting a tag and assess drive; you've done quite a few of these edits, so your input is appreciated! :) —Erik (talkcontrib) 14:07, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Notability of articles outside home country

Please sort Gavin out at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals/TRANSWIKI at the bottom of page. He is arguing against notability of articles on other wikipedias. Isn't it right that if an article i notable on German wikipedia, especially a politician it is notable on english wikipedia? Dr. Blofeld White cat 18:40, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Argentine films

Many thanks for your work on those Cannes film entries. It is really good to see that somebody has started some notable films by each year and that are half decent like Don Segundo Sombra (film). I've been changing the redirects into blue links for Argentine films, needs a lot of work but it is good that at least we have one or two OK articles by year! Dr. Blofeld White cat 21:46, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Yeah LOL. The thing is there are a number of editors expanding the articles like this. I think at times the community underestimates the potential of the site, even if they are right that a lot of people on here unlike us are lazy. Dr. Blofeld White cat 11:47, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Ever seen Female Vampire? In Argentina in the late 60s and early 70s the industry was dominated by soft core porn/horror films, mostly from the ilk of directors like Armando Bó. Then in the 1970s, 1980s it was dominated by silly slap stick comedies. The "New Wave" started in the late 90s and has since produced some good films like The Motorcycle Diaries. I'm sure you've seen it. Dr. Blofeld White cat 15:02, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Well? Vamps not to your taste? Hey I was wondering if you could go through the categories and remove the film lists from cluttering the top of the main year categories e.g Category:2008 films. Then can you create new categories e.g Category:Lists of 2008 films by country or language, Category:Lists of 1975 films by country or language etc. so all of the films linked in the year templates go neatly under one category. What da ya tink man? Dr. Blofeld White cat 21:21, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Nice one. It will save clogging up the main categories in the long run. Don't know about you but I don't like having categories clogged up at the beginning when they could easily be placed neatily in sub cats! Dr. Blofeld White cat 19:22, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Gwen Gaze birth information

There seems to be some conflicting edits about Gwen Gaze's birthdate and birthplace — one for 1915 in Australia and one for 1909 in the USA. I've started Talk:Gwen Gaze#Birth information and it would be helpful if you could explain the sources for the birthdate and birthplace you provided. Thanks! --Closeapple (talk) 21:22, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Category:Rich Shapero albums

1.) Rich Shapero isn't the performing artist on the album, and 2.) I redirected it since it was a very short, infobox-less stub with no sources or notability (couldn't find a thing about it online). It only had a limited, free distribution, so there's no chance it could ever be an article. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Many ottersOne batOne hammer) 17:38, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Hello

Hey! I can still build those missing lists anyway....Himalayan Explorer 20:36, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm using the Voodoo child lyric instead. Thanks! That is much cooler..Himalayan Explorer 21:21, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Maybe you could also speak to mass British film stub creator and convince him to use infobox and avoid using imdb as a direct reference and stop using bare URL links... If he just created a few every month of so I wouldn't mind but it seems he has now become a regular contributor... I mean it is great that he is starting them, but in the long run the infobox and proper imdb template would save a lot of cleanup... Himalayan 19:15, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

I have a request. Can you create an article and maybe films with this guy? Himalayan 10:43, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Hilarious. If you do have time, maybe you could start a few of the actors listed on Before Twilight. The film is apparently about a group of eminent Polish actors who get together and star in a play from their retirement home, sounds really good. I'm pretty sure most of the actors of very notable.. The amount of red linked on Polish biogaphies is always overwhelming.. It is crazy we were missing articles like Jan Nowicki, these a major national film actors in Poland!!. Himalayan 14:29, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

OK cool, I've just DYK nommed Roman Kłosowski anyway... I shall upload a film poster for you no. film shortly.. Actually, I can't find the film poster!!! . Himalayan 14:35, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

The thing is gather he does know how to add infoboxes, he just chooses not to. If anything I would rather he added an infobox and only added the director and country, at least then it would mean the template was in place for other editors to fill.... Himalayan 16:55, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

Lodestar (band)

Hi, and thanks for your interest in Lodestar (band). As we have both asserted, the band appears to have had two major-label releases, thus meeting the WP:MUSIC standard. Unfortunately, I can't find any sources for the discography that I consider reliable. (My source of information was a website that compiles discographies; I can't vouch for their reliability.) 1965, 1950-1952 Italian movies I believe. I'll get on with expanding those. Good to see the Lord of Cornwall acknowledging the infobox, just needs to stop pasting bare urls now.. Himalayan 09:21, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

RE: Flags for films

OK, thanks for letting me know. I thought that since a lot of film articles have a flag in the country of origin section of the infobox, it might as well be the contemporary flag. Just so that I know in the future: What is the preferred manual of style for this? Should you use the current flag, or no flag at all? Again, thanks for the heads-up. There should probably be a bit of a wait. I'm still waiting for all of the chart positions to come in. Eh?

your comment on the discussion page for the australian duststorm seemed a little harsh to me.. I won't enter into a debate about climate change though because in my experience there isn't much convincing sceptics and you seem from your prolific track record here to be fairly onto it and articulate, so that you'd have some strong reasons behind your beliefs, so I doubt I'd change your view and I don't think me responding in kind would help. I've seen it over and over again on the net it just degenerates into bitter conflict and abuse (!!). However, on balance, I recognise that my comment was a little bit controversial and could be perceived as "asking for" for some kind of response, so I can see how someone who does not hold my views would respond like you did and I will refrain from making such comments in the future. A useful lesson. We obviously don't agree on this but I have a lot of respect for the contributions you have made to wikipedia with over 100,000 edits - especially creating so many pages.. that's important work that I've done some of myself..
