Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Nicholas Yaw Boafo Adade, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Fourth Republic and Konongo (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:14, 9 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Joe-Fio Neenyann Meyer moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Joe-Fio Neenyann Meyer, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. I have just reviewed the page, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

I unfortunately had to remove some content because it violated copyright (see WP:COPYVIO for more information). Additionally, please avoid stacking citations at the ends of paragraphs, as this makes it difficult for readers to determine which source corresponds to which claim. Instead, place citations at the ends of sentences to which they apply directly.

Replaceable fair use File:Ebenezer Sekyi Hughes.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ebenezer Sekyi Hughes.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Passengerpigeon (talk) 02:11, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Football squad of Lincoln University, Pennsylvania.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Football squad of Lincoln University, Pennsylvania.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 11:20, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the heads up AaqibAnjum, her term in parliament actually begins in 1999 after the by-election but her term in parliament ended in 2009 and this is because, even though elections were held in December 2008, MPs who were elected then were sworn into office on 7 January 2009 as required by the constitution. She however, legally remained an MP after 2008 until her successor was sworn into office on 7 January 2009.Kinvidia (talk) 23:53, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ebenezer Moses Debrah moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Ebenezer Moses Debrah, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. List of MPs elected in the 1992 Ghanaian parliamentary election

[edit]

Hello Kinvidia, thanks for your edits on List of MPs elected in the 1992 Ghanaian parliamentary election. Are you sure you have the correct information as they differ from the names I had from the website of the Electoral Commission of Ghana. I know the link for the 1992 resulsts are dead but I still have the downloaded Excel file from the Electoral Commission and they do not have some of the names you have added recently.--Natsubee (talk) 12:51, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Natsubee thanks for having the time to go through the edits. The edits I made was based on information I got from the 1992 parliamentary register I received from the Ghana Parliament Library. I could email you some pictures (especially for those you find to be different from what you have) if you don't mind. Kind regards. Kinvidia (talk) 23:00, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Kinvidia, I will appreaciate the email.--Natsubee (talk) 15:40, 5 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Ghana High Commission in Freetown has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

High Commissions and embassies are not generally notable, and there is no evidence that this one is. Lack of reliable independent sources to support the topic.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Daniel Afedzi Akyeampong

[edit]

Hello Kinvidia,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Daniel Afedzi Akyeampong for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Couple of points

[edit]

Hi, thanks for your work on Ghanian politicians. Please don't write "educationist" when you really mean "teacher". Same for "agriculturalist" rather than "farmer", which I see in Indian-politics articles far too often. And you might consider not boosting with "served as", instead of plain "was ... the minister for whatever". They're politicians: we all know they serve themselves, not us. Tony (talk) 04:42, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the points Tony1. I really appreciate it and I will try to make the corrections in subsequent edits. However, let's agree to disagree here; the notion that politicians serve their personal interests may not apply to every politician. Kinvidia (talk) 22:08, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The mechanics of human power are explained in The Dictators' Handbook (2011), a paperback. They say that if you rise to a position of power with totally good intentions, you won't last long. It's a compelling argument. Tony (talk) 01:27, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Hatchens, thank you for reviewing the page Edwin Alfred Provencal. I really want to know why you think the references I used were not reliable and independent? The links are frequently used as references for Ghanaian pages and they are trusted sources of information in Ghana. I'm not quite sure why you will draw such a conclusion. I will be very happy if you could explain more. I have created many Ghanaian pages and used these sources as references and I have never had such an issue with a reviewer. Question from Samra Kousar (16:57, 29 July 2023)

Hello, Hopefully you are great, Very recently I create a account, and in the sandbox I created an article, but now there is an issue i am going through how to move from Sandbox to LIVE page in the Wikipedia? --Samra Kousar (talk) 16:57, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Samra Kousar, first of all, that is a beautiful page that you have created there. However, I think we can add more references to the page to ensure its credibility (one is not enough :)). To move the page from sandbox to live (Wikipedia mainspace), you have to click on the "move" blue link sandwiched between "actions" and "general". In the new page that opens, click on the "user" drop down beneath "New title" and choose "(Article)". Beneath "Reason", click on the "Other reason" drop down and choose the "Publish page to main space" option. After that, click on the "Move page" button in the blue background right beneath the "Watch source page and target page" phrase.
A better option is to move the page to a draft space where you can continue to improve the page by adding references and categories. In the draft space, administrators can ensure that the page meets all the requisite wikipedia notability guidelines and consequently move the page to live (Wikipedia mainspace). To move the page to drafts, click on the "move" blue link sandwiched between "actions" and "general". In the new page that opens, click on the "user" drop down beneath "New title" and choose "Draft". Beneath "Reason", click on the "Other reason" drop down and choose the "Move to draftspace ([[WP:DRAFTIFY]])" option. After that, click on the "Move page" button in the blue background right beneath the "Watch source page and target page" phrase. Kinvidia (talk) 21:11, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have added all the links as you mentioned above, One/two of them i did not because i checked and they have pop up ads and illegal streaming web, if is okay to add those link and i can thank you.... Samra Kousar (talk) 18:14, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Samra Kousar, an orphaned page that is not linked to any other page on Wikipedia. You adding the links to the pages was the right way to go. The tag was just to alert you to add the page as a link to other Wikipedia pages. Once you have done that, you can finally remove the tag from the page. To remove the tag, click on the pencil symbol obeneath the title of the page between the clock symbol and the three dots (if its the mobile version) and choose the "source editor" option in the drop down. If you are using the desktop versionn you can click "source editor" straight away. The option is beneath "add languages", and between "edit" and "view history". When the edit source interface opens, delete the tag; "{{orphan|date=July 2023}} and publish. In the "how did you improve this page" box you can explain that the page has been added as a link in other Wikipedia pages, then you publish. Kinvidia (talk) 15:02, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for explaining, I saw you its title been modified as renamed and added in additional page of Turkish Television Series 2023 and I added there network and episode number too and its bit complicated for me at the momemt but its good to learn something more Samra Kousar (talk) 15:49, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, bit by bit you will enjoy it, and I'm always here to help :) Kinvidia (talk) 15:57, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

I am writing this article and there is an minor issue I am going through! Should I added References Link by making Heading or it works by auto once added Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page). as cite but it did not displayed.... and this article i am adding by checking list of pages which is not in the database of manspace of wikipedia...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Samra_Kousar/sandbox Samra Kousar (talk) 16:38, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Samra Kousar to add references, you have to copy the link that you want to use as the citation first. Then, when you open the page you want to reference, go to the particular paragraph, click on the pencil symbol, and then choose the visual editor in the drop-down (in the mobile version interface) or, for the desktop interface, choose edit. Then place the cursor right next to the statement you want to reference and choose cite. Then, in the box that appears, paste the link and choose generate. Make sure you choose the insert option after the link is generated. In some cases, the link may not generate successfully, and in such a situation, you will have to create the reference manually. Question from RasberryDanish (23:33, 13 August 2023)

[edit]

Hello Kinvidia I solely created this account for one purpose. To change the image on the Development tab of the Team Fortress Classic article. The image is dark and muddy and I can barely make out anything in the image. However I possess a different image that is much brighter. I just created this account and I cannot upload non-free images to Wikipedia. I know that you have other things to do but I ask you to please change the image in the article. I could send you the image via email. Hopefully you will respond back.

RasberryDanish --RasberryDanish (talk) 23:33, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That's alright, @RasberryDanish, you can send the picture via my mail. However, I will need some evidence that the picture is freely licenced. Those are the types of pictures accepted on Wikipedia; otherwise, the picture could be uploaded under fair use. Kinvidia (talk) 01:12, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much. The image was bugging me a lot.
I will send you the new picture along with a screenshot of where it needs to go. RasberryDanish (talk) 02:12, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I do apologize. Where would I find your email? RasberryDanish (talk) 02:16, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So sorry about that @RasberryDanish. This is my mail: hazel3993@gmail.com. Kinvidia (talk) 14:05, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello My Mentor Kinvidia

[edit]

I do hope this message finds you in good health. I am reaching out to you with a request for your guidance and support in a matter that holds great significance to me. As my trusted mentor, I believe your expertise could greatly assist me in creating a Wikipedia page for TurkBinge.Com. Understanding the complexities and requirements of Wikipedia's content creation process, I humbly ask for your assistance in navigating through the necessary steps. Your familiarity with the best practices and guidelines for drafting a Wikipedia page makes you the perfect mentor for this endeavor. In particular, I would greatly appreciate your help in the following areas:

Notability Assessment: With your guidance, I hope to determine the notability of TurkBinge.Com according to Wikipedia's standards. Your expertise in identifying reliable and independent sources that establish notability would be invaluable. Source Compilation: Your ability to source relevant and credible information is commendable. I kindly request your assistance in researching and compiling the necessary references, ensuring that they meet Wikipedia's stringent sourcing criteria.

I understand the importance of maintaining Wikipedia's integrity and standards, and I am committed to following your guidance diligently throughout this process. Your mentorship would not only provide me with the practical knowledge I lack but also instill a sense of confidence in creating a valuable contribution to the platform.

Please let me know your availability and the best way to proceed. I am grateful for your willingness to consider my request and lend your expertise to this project. Your support means a lot to me, and I am eagerly looking forward to embarking on this endeavor under your guidance.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Samra Kousar (talk) 13:19, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Samra Kousar, I am happy to help in any way I can. I will try to identify some sources and share them with you when I can. Feel free to reach out whenever you need help, and we'll work together to create this page. Thank you for entrusting me with this project, and I look forward to our collaboration. Hi @Samra Kousar, unfortunately I couldn't find much links on TurkBinge. These are what I found: https://turkbinge.com/. I hope you were able to find some more from your end? Kinvidia (talk) 22:04, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry I could not understand about much links? Samra Kousar (talk) 10:49, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
sorry @Samra Kousar, I meant I couldn't find many references on Turkbinge. I only found one. Kinvidia (talk) 12:14, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
To create a page on wikipedia, must have to have many references? Samra Kousar (talk) 12:30, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Even though this may not apply to every page that meets Wikipedia's notability requirements, references are a way of establishing notability and credibility. According to the guidelines, a page is "generally considered notable if it has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. Trivial or incidental coverage of a subject by secondary sources is not sufficient to establish notability. All content must be verifiable. If no independent, third-party reliable sources can be found on a topic, then Wikipedia should not have an article on it." Kinvidia (talk) 13:15, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Team fortress screenshot.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Team fortress screenshot.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 02:30, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Can I get paid for my work? --Smithadr05 (talk) 06:15, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Smithadr05, you don't get paid money for making or editing pages on Wikipedia. People do it because they want to share information and help others. It's like a group effort where everyone volunteers their time and knowledge. While you won't earn money directly, it could help you show your expertise in a certain topic if people find your contributions valuable. Kinvidia (talk) 20:20, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Jlcopping (23:20, 2 June 2024)

[edit]

Hi, I am having difficulty (even after reading help pages and tips on editing) adding information to the Notable People section of Chappaqua, NY. I would like to make two entries. I am not very tech savvy, and find the directions confusing. The people I would like to add were prominent Chappaqua citizens in the 1960's and 1970's. I will appreciate any guidance you can give me! Thanks! --Jlcopping (talk) 23:20, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Jlcopping, you can open Chappaqua, New York, click on the pencil icon next to the subheading, “Notable people“ and scroll to add the entries. Please let me know how it goes. :) Kinvidia (talk) 12:35, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from JuneAvianpl (04:20, 14 July 2024)

[edit]

Hello, I want to create a page for my singer wife, but I am stuck, how to create it. --JuneAvianpl (talk) 04:20, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @JuneAvianpl, before a page can be created for your wife, she must meet the Wikipedia notability guidelines. Also, it is best that the page be created by a third party as there could be a tendency for bias as you are related to the subject of the article.Kinvidia (talk) 21:48, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from KhushalKhan01 (13:46, 16 July 2024)

Greetings! I don't have information to add or upload new media to existing content. However, while uploading media, I receive this "Failed to load the configuration for file uploads to the foreign file repository". Kindly help --KhushalKhan01 (talk) 13:46, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @KhushalKhan01, I'm not sure what that could mean but do you upload it directly on Wikipedia or on Wikimedia Commons? Kinvidia (talk) 21:39, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Jenpierce (22:10, 19 July 2024)

[edit]

Hi Kinvidia! I am hoping to create a new page about an influential geoscientist. There is already lots of content about him and I have a draft written in word. Is there a template I can use for biographies? (early career, etc?) Something similar to this? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wallace_Smith_Broecker --Jenpierce (talk) 22:10, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Jenpierce, there is no strict specific format to follow, the example you shared is perfectly fine. These are some other examples you could check out: Kurt Lewin; Michael McClelland. Kinvidia (talk) 21:19, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Kinvidia-
Is there a way to set up subheadings, etc? Thanks for your help :) 160.3.67.220 (talk) 00:43, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yh @Jenpierce, if you want to set up a subheading (while in visual edit mode), choose "Paragraph" at the top left corner, in between the arrow and the "A" letter icon. Then choose from the options: "Heading", "sub-heading 1" etc. (choose what works best for you). Kinvidia (talk) 14:18, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello how do I fix an issue about the John Berry song Your Love Amazes me? --LDBubb (talk) 04:27, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from LDBubb on Your Love Amazes Me (04:29, 2 August 2024)

[edit]

The song was written by John Berry and Richard Harris not the people getting credit for it on Wikipedia. --LDBubb (talk) 04:29, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @LDBubb, you can do that by clicking on the edit button right above the paragraph you'd want to make changes on. Please note that any changes to be made must be backed with references/citations from trusted and independent sources. Kinvidia (talk) 11:45, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Marblehead007 (23:09, 12 August 2024)

[edit]

Hello! I want to post information about a client: such as business focus, stature in the industry, work history, links to articles where he is featured and blog posts he has written. Should I be creating a "page"? Or is there another name for what I want to do? I have looked at others in his space and I have a draft all ready to go. Thank you! --Marblehead007 (talk) 23:09, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Marblehead007, before a page can be published for the said client, please read Wikipedia:notability to ascertain such a person merits a page on Wikipedia.Kinvidia (talk) 23:55, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Miguelmtzch (09:34, 28 August 2024)

[edit]

Hello, I did this account to help of a friend and make her Wiki page. She's quite a big creator (4M on youtube), so I believe she qualifies for one. I read, however, that friends are discouraged to write a Wiki Article, which is unfortunate. Any other paths I should take to get this done? Can I still make the article being as unbiased as possible? --Miguelmtzch (talk) 09:34, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Miguelmtzch, that is very true, it is best the page is created by a neutral party to avoid the possibility of bias. However, to be sure the person meets Wikipedia's notability guidelines, please try to read this.Kinvidia (talk) 12:27, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
