Souvenir Plot

[edit]

Hello Kiltpin,

Excuse me if I dont' whrite english well. I am french. I have seen one law text that souvenir plot were proposed by a Minister and accepted in 1979 in parliament as legal. I am trying to find it again to show it tou you. I would like to get your opinion. Kind regards --Raymondnivet (talk) 17:42, 2 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Raymondnivet,
Only a plot of land that is big enough to be registered in the Land Register can be owned in The UK. Unless a person owns the land (that is to say, holds a title deed to that piece of land and has had it registered in the Land Registry) can they call themselves a landowner. Being a landowner is not equivalent to being a Laird. There is a minimum plot size which Lord Lyon has determined will be about 5 acres, before the owner can be called a Laird. The 1 metre X 1 metre plots are only a joke and not intended to be taken seriously. Lastly Laird is not the equivalent of Lord. Kind Regards Kiltpin (talk) 18:53, 2 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Clan Cunningham

[edit]

Thanks for the info. I will update the information on the Clan Cunningham page. You see it was a bit strange before because you had moved it into the clans with chiefs section even though the article was still saying that there is no chief. I will therefore update accordingly.QuintusPetillius (talk) 19:11, 10 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Armorial Register Limited requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Information icon Hello, I'm Yopie. I noticed that you made a comment that didn't seem very civil, so it has been removed. Wikipedia needs people like you and me to collaborate, so it's one of our core principles to interact with one another in a polite and respectful manner. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Yopie (talk) 23:17, 28 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Now suddenly you want to collaborate? Three attacks against one article is not collaboration. You will not gain the moral high-ground by pretending to be friendly at this late stage. Editors need only to read the article history to see the truth of your actions for themselves. If you truly want to improve the article as you have said in the past - then do so. Show us all that you want to collaborate. You messaged me here, I will answer here, so all the evidence is kept together. As for respect, I will give you exactly as much as you have given me in the past. Kiltpin (talk) 23:32, 28 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know where you got the idea that "in summer 1982" is bad grammar. If you search Google you will find the phrase widely used by respectable sources. Why use four words where two will do?

Examples among many millions:

  • "London domain name to launch in summer 2014". BBC News.

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 09:20, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
