[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Nikos Ganos, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Greek (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

That's better!
[edit]Now I like the disclaimer on your main page. That is much better, and informs others that items are for your referencing aids when it comes to editing articles. Although are you aware of sandboxes? They are spaces that every user can create, and are almost exempt from the rules of WP:UP (or as far as I am aware anyway. Even I have 20 sandboxes which are for the same purpose as what you have stated on your disclaimer. See WP:SAND for further details if you are interested in creating your own, or alternatively User:Karlwhen/sandbox would be where you will find yours. Wesley ☮ Mouse 19:17, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

Eurovision country entry and contestant tables
[edit]I don't think I agree with radically altering the entire table of each nation's contestants and entries in order to add information solely for the 1996 contest. Rather than altering the tables, they should be restored to how they were and a footnote for the 1996 should be added. The current sea of "N/A"s is just plain ridiculous. T.W. Discussion moved
[edit]In accordance with the guidelines at WP:TPO I have moved the discussion at Talk:United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest#New Voting Design to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#Voting history. This is because the topic was more relevant to all articles and not just the United Kingdom one. Such a move makes way for more project members to find the discussion in an area that is of more relevance than its original position. I have kept the original too but placed it in a collapsed box per guidance outlines at WP:TPOC. Wesley ☮ Mouse 13:45, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

Factual error on Eurovision Song Contest 2006 semi-final
[edit]Hi Karlwhen, just a quick note to let you know that you made a factual error on Andorra in the Eurovision Song Contest and Serbia and Montenegro in the Eurovision Song Contest. If you check the official information at eurovision.tv, Andorra did indeed finish last place. Only 23 countries participated in the semi-final, but 24 countries cast votes. This is because the Montenegrin independence referendum, 2006, and the Serbia & Montenegro made a request to the EBU for a formal withdrawal from the Eurovision Song Contest 2006. The EBU granted their request, but gave them permission to still vote in the contest itself. This is shown on the EBU's participants list which reads "Withdrew from the competition, but still voted"
. I have therefore reverted the factual error. Wesley Mᴥuse 16:46, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
- But it says on the EBU's Eurovision site on the scoreboard that Serbia & Montenegro placed 24th even though they sent no entry. Karlwhen, Karlwhen, 7:22pm, 1st October 2013.
- I feel you may be misinterpreting the information on that website. Even the article for Serbia and Montenegro explicitly states that Serbia and Montenegro did not participate. A country cannot be given a placing if it never participated with an entry. Serbia were only given voting rights because they withdrew at the last minute. The EBU list them as 24th on the scoreboard, but if you click on the "participants" tab of the same website you will see that the EBU state that Serbia did not compete, but were listed as being the 24th voting nation. Only 23 countries performed on stage, thus making Andorra (who came in 23rd place) being the country who finished in last place. It is common logic based on the factual evidence. I've added footnotes to both Andorra and Serbia & Montenegro to explain this facts. Wesley Mᴥuse 18:31, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
- Move evidence
- Diggiloo Thrush have Adnorra's worst placing as being last in 2006. If you place the cursor of DNQ for 2006 entry is shows "23rd place in semi-final.
- EBU have Andorra finishing in 23rd for 2006.
- EBU - about the semi-final If you read the second paragraph it reads
"23 countries took part in the Semi-Final..."
. Therefore the nation who finished in 23rd place, finished last. Serbia & Montenegro were only the 24th voting nation in the semi-final, and the 38th nation in the final. Only 37 countries competed in the entire contest (semis and final). Wesley Mᴥuse 18:43, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
Impressive work
[edit]I just wanted to say how impressed I am with the work you are doing on articles such as Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest by adding the {{Sort}} template and including the language columns too. I'm assuming you're going to do this on all of the articles? If so, remember to avoid overlinking, you only need to link the first reference of a language, the rest is OK to be done in normal text. Keep up the good work, I'm sure there's a barnstar somewhere as a sign of appreciation, I'll look for one now and award it to you shortly. Wesley Mᴥuse 15:01, 4 October 2013 (UTC)

12 points history on [Country] in the Eurovision Song Contest articles
[edit]Hi Karlwhen,
Sorry to be the bringer of bad news, but unfortunately all the 12 point voting trend tables that you added to 'Country in Eurovision' articles have been removed due to the WP:NOTSTATSBOOK and WP:TRIVIA policies. Apparently if we're to show a voting trend, then we're to show all points and not just 12's. And if we did that for all the points given/received, then we're violating WP:NOTSTATSBOOK for producing excessive lists of statistics. Plus they breach WP:TRIVIA, as the information is easily researched elsewhere. The primary goal for Wikipedia is to produce encyclopaedic material, without using trivial material. So unfortunately as the policy is preventing the addition of any of these tables, they have all been removed. I can only offer sympathy, as it can feel disheartening by the loss of so many man-hours that is put into our hard work. But policies are there for a reason to guide us along the right path in creating the perfect article. Wes Mᴥuse 05:14, 3 June 2014 (UTC)

Mass-changes of style without consensus
[edit]Karlwhen,
You have been a member of WikiProject Eurovision long enough now to know that we do not make massive changes to styling without seeking consensus via the project talk page first. So making an edit like this to United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest was appalling behaviour to have undertaken. All the layout styling are decided upon via opening a new Request for Comment discussion on the project talk page, and then all members are able to contribute to the discussion, and share their views as to why they feel it may or may not work. I have reverted the edit, and strongly urge that if you wish for the new styling to be implemented, that you engage in discussion at Project Eurovision, and see if the proposed changes are fine with everyone else, so that they may be used across all the other [Country] in Eurovision Song Contest articles. The current layout guidelines can be found at Wikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision/Format and Guides. Wes Mouse | T@lk 20:26, 28 February 2015 (UTC)

WikiProject Eurovision: Important Announcement
[edit]WikiProject Eurovision Important Announcement
Dear Project Member Following a project community discussion, which was raised over the use of English translation columns on annual contest articles, and advice from the lead coordinator of The Guild of Copy Editors, who are extremely knowledgeable in regards to all editing practises and manual of style policies. A consensus decision has been reached to fully remove ALL English translations, as such content falls under the prohibition on original research, even if it seems helpful to the reader. This is because we have now to assume that every reader has access to automated translation tools that can always give them a sense of the meaning of the title in their native language; it is not Wikipedia's job to provide those tools for the reader. Which therefore means we are no longer to include an English translation column, nor are we to provide translation by any other means on contest articles. Such information is currently in the process of being removed, and a new table formatting and layout style is being rolled out across all articles. Please view the new guidance on table layout at Wikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision/Format and Guides#Article layout. An example of the new table layout style can also be access via the collapsed section within this message. Thank you. |

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! NOW! Logo.png
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! NOW! Logo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:03, 5 August 2018 (UTC)

2020 Milton Keynes Council election moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, 2020 Milton Keynes Council election, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
