Oxbridge Content Removal
Hello, We took out the information about the Computer Science Program because it is outdated and no longer accurate. It should be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.132.104.229 (talk) 14:36, 1 July 2014 (UTC)
- I would advise against editing an article about your own company, since you'll have a conflict of interest in the subject. If you do edit, please make sure you edit in a neutral tone and avoid promoting your company or using Weasel words. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 14:43, 1 July 2014 (UTC)

Cleanup App on Vada Update
The app now scans links for http/https and replaces with relative links where possible. If you notice bugs in the app, do let me know. 930913 {{ping}} 17:43, 1 July 2014 (UTC)
- @A930913: One thing I did notice is how the app slows down... a lot. It takes much longer to load a page now. Could there be an option to disable this? --k6ka (talk | contribs) 17:58, 1 July 2014 (UTC)
- But it tells you where it's up to on the top right . What it really needs is a preparse mode, so it can generate the diffs beforehand, ready for when you review it. Y/n? 930913 {{ping}} 18:54, 1 July 2014 (UTC)
- @A930913: That might indeed be better than what it is right now... but I still stand for the option to disable that ;) --k6ka (talk | contribs) 20:40, 1 July 2014 (UTC)
Edits to Dalian Maple Leaf
Sorry, I am new to this process. The two edits were due to the fact that they contained inaccuracies. They were clearly placed there by someone who has a grudge against Maple Leaf Schools. edits to Rob Allyn"
Hello I am not familiar on how to add those new information about the person's past career, but I have provided credible information with credible sources, please clean it up instead of deleting everything.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.175.24.137 (talk) 16:59 4 July 2014
- No, I'm afraid I cannot do so. You appear to be trying to merge the biographies of two different people into one article. Consider creating a new article for this other Rob Allyn instead of trying to squish it together, if the person you are writing about meets the notability, verifiability, and neutral point of view guidelines. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 17:18, 4 July 2014 (UTC)
it is the same person. http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/unfairpark/2011/04/rob_allyn_used_to_run_local_po.php — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.175.24.137 (talk) 17:34, 4 July 2014 (UTC)
- Well, if that's the case, consider merging it into the article into a reasonable manner. In other words, don't write everything in the lead as if it were a brand new article, which it isn't. For instance, create a section just below the lead and write about how he used to be a politician. Always remember to cite sources and write in a neutral tone. If you need assistance, you can ask at the Teahouse, and if you need to save your work somewhere, feel free to create an account and save it into your personal sandbox. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 17:39, 4 July 2014 (UTC)

New user Deleted contribution to Bergen, Norway
Hello K6ka
I am sorry if I have violated any rules of Wikipedia. I am new to this. I just established an account.
My "editing" was caused by what I read was written about Madam Felle on the page about Bergen, Norway.
My family has lived in this city since 1552, and we did business in Sandviken, where the statue of Madam Felle is placed for geneartions. What was written on the existing page is actually directly wrong. This is my city, and I know the story of Madam felle very well, and can back it up by public records.
I really want to set this straight, so what do I do??
Kind regards,
Jan Eek — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eekjan01 (talk • contribs) 17:00, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
- Hello. Looking at your edits and your explanation here, it appears that you have added original research. Original research is what we call "Things that you've did yourself/lived through/experienced in person and called it fact." For security reasons, Wikipedia prohibits original research and requires all additions to be supported by a citation, and cited sources must be considered reliable. Your edit was reverted because it 1. Did not cite a source, and 2. Appeared to consist of original research, and judging by your explanation it appears to be.
- If you want to re-add this piece of information, consider merging it with the existing text instead of awkwardly slapping on additions (e.g. "Actually, that was not the case..."). If you want to develop the article in your own userspace before copy and pasting a fixed version in, you can do so in your personal sandbox. And as always, if you have questions, you should never hesitate to ask them at the Teahouse - in fact, I'd recommend you drop in for a visit right now! --k6ka (talk | contribs) 17:15, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Hello
I am in a pickle.
Me, and probably 250.000 other people from Bergen knows that what is publizied is wrong.
What I am writing is not "original research". Look up: http://www.bergenbyarkiv.no/bergenbyleksikon/arkiv/14326518
I says exactually what I write, and more.
So, what do I do when I know that there are errors on a public site? Just leave it, or???
Regards Jan Eek — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eekjan01 (talk • contribs) 18:05, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
- @Eekjan01: Exactly what I've told you - merge it into the article and cite the source you gave me. This article shows you how to cite a source in an article. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 18:15, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

Trap
A source has been given for the change to the stylistic origins section along with a comments from other users citing their agreement with the change (in my talk and in the Trap talk page) to the stylistic origins sections of the trap music page.
My initial edit was made in good faith and is only disputed by one user staticVapor who has given no reasons for his (Blanking, illegitimate) Vandalism. I will make no further changes until an admin agrees where this issue sits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.178.88.81 (talk) 16:43, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
- This does not excuse the fact that you are edit warring. When in a content dispute, you must stop editing the article and focus attention on the talk page, editing the article only when a consensus has been established. Even if the article is held in a slightly degrading quality than normal, it's the only way we can stop the fire from growing. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 16:47, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
I have stopped K6ka as soon as I saw your warning, as I take it very seriously. I am relatively new to wikipedia and have provided sources as required and achieved a measure of consensus amongst all other users except for staticVapor on the talk page. Who incidently has not provided any sources or information showing that the stylistic origins of EDM trap is only 'Southern Hip Hop', before removing my changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.178.88.81 (talk) 16:51, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
- Consensus is an agreement on all users. Keep discussing it with the user until an agreement has been reached. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 16:54, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
I have observed the edit wars between 129.178.88.81 and staticVapor and the only individual who seems to dispute the changes is staticVapor himself. Why was user 129.178.88.81 threatened with having his IP blocked, when StaticVapor has made multiple edits with no sources to back up his actions? it seems a tad unfair to me.
Also user 129.178.88.81 did provide a source showing the links between dubstep and trap (see below)
The LA weekly also noted the links between the newer electronic form of Trap and its UK Bass progenitor Dubstep http://blogs.laweekly.com/westcoastsound/2012/10/trap_music_edm_uz_baauer_ugk.php?page=2 stating re Trap "You could basically call it the next phase of dubstep. It plays at a club-ready 140 bpm while retaining dubstep's craze-inducing drops. (That said, eschewing the over-hyped and much-disparaged name "dubstep" is definitely a good PR move.)"
user 129.178.88.81 also provides a source showing the links between crunk (southern hip hop) and UK Grime with the following source
And finally similiarities between the intense sound of Crunk and Grime have been noted before with Lil Jon in 2004 a well known Crunk artist stating in the BBC with regards to Grime Artist Dizze Rascal "“I like Dizzee,” Lil Jon said recently, joining the Dylan Mills fan club, which also includes Andre 3000. “Even if I don’t know what the f**k he be saying.”" and even as far back as 2004 from when this article is dated American media outlets were noted for paying attention to this UK Bass Genre noting "Having all but ignored UK urban music for years, even American artists and magazines like XXL are opening their ears to the cockney accents spitting their stories over chaotic keys and speaker-smashing bass" http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/collective/A3299204
Even prompting another user to remark
After reading these sources about grime/crunk artists collabing before the EDM trap boom I'd be for keeping grime as a stylistic origin. – filelakeshoe (t / c) 11:38, 3 July 2014 (UTC)
It very much looks like one user StaticVapor has been able to set the agenda, above all other users with regards to the trap music page. I dont want to get involved, but I think you should revaluate your position and revert staticVapor's recent edit and wait until other users except for him, show their concerns with the stylistic origins section of the trap music wikipedia page.
I for one dont think user 129.178.88.81 changes can be viewed as original research as he has a good source and users back the changes made. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.174.219.170 (talk) 19:28, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
- It's still not an excuse to edit war. Edit warring exemptions are fairly rare, and are limited to reverting vandalism, self-reverts, etc. See WP:EDITWAR. Both parties need to discuss the issue first before they edit again. If edit warring ravages, a report at WP:AN3 should be filed. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 19:57, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
about the reviews of the surfs with sense
i think what i wrote on the smurfs makes sense and it obviously says on the critics part, the film was criticized by its script, but the performances of the actors and the voice acting were generally praised even (if i m not mistaking) the cgi animated smurfs, don't you think what i said was correct?

Do explain on my edit was not "neutral". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.79.22.89 (talk) 20:17, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
- "This is someone's pathetic attempt at..." does not sound neutral at all to me. You're implying that their attempt was stupid, wrong, or otherwise plumply ridiculous. Things on Wikipedia must be written in neutral point of view. Even if someone did something wrong, we do not say "They are a terrorist and totally deserve to get arrested" or "They suck" or "They're pathetic". --k6ka (talk | contribs) 21:25, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
My changes to "Dong"
I believe that you're wrong. Wiktionary has no article named "Dong", but there's dong instead. Also, as you would see in the wiktionary article, it's also used as a name for Dildo. Perhaps I should justify these in the comments and/or make those two changes separate, but imho both are justified. 31.182.133.57 (talk) 11:34, 11 July 2014 (UTC)
- I hit revert mainly because you linked to dildo, which is a common word in many unconstructive edits. But I have reverted my edit, thank you for telling me. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 14:15, 11 July 2014 (UTC)

hello k6ka I wanted to thank you for helping me delete the page I created. but I have a question. when you set it up for deletion was it for discussion? does that mean that if no one debates on the deletion of the page it gets deleted? for the last 2 days I have been trying to figure out how to delete the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SpaldingTac (talk • contribs) 15:24, 16 July 2014 (UTC)
- @SpaldingTac: Articles for deletion is when the community gets together and discusses whether the page should be kept or not. It differs from proposed deletion, which means the page can be deleted if there are no objections. An articles for deletion is where people discuss what to do with the page, and it either results in keep, merge, redirect, or delete. If a consensus is not reached, the page is usually not deleted, and instead tagged for improvement. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 15:45, 16 July 2014 (UTC)

New huggle 3.1 is going to be released soon
Hi K6ka, we are to release a new major version of huggle, but we did receive almost no feedback from our beta testing team, which you are a part of (see https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members). It would be of a great help if you could download it (if you have windows, all you need to do is getting http://tools.wmflabs.org/huggle/files/huggle3.1.0beta.exe and putting it to a folder where you have installed huggle) and test it. You can always get a help with making it @ #huggle connect!
Major changes:
- Multisite support - you can now log in to unlimited number of wikis in 1 huggle session and get a huge queue of all edits made to these wikis. This is good for smaller projects which gets overlooked often.
- Ranged diffs - you can select multiple revisions and get a huge diff that display all changes done to them.
- Fixes of most of bug reports we had so far
In case you found a bug, please report it to bugzilla: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/buglist.cgi?product=Huggle&list_id=147663 thank you! Petrb (talk) 10:19, 30 July 2014 (UTC)
