January

Since I noticed all the work you have done for the Shuffle! article and then helping me and others on the Kanon article, I would like to know your opinion on Fate/stay night's GA status since that article is lacking much of what is included in Shuffle! and Kanon. The reason I bring it up is that you don't seem to be against Fate/stay night's GA promotion even though in my eyes Kanon right now seems to be the better article between the two in terms of content, or am I wrong?--(十八|talk) 21:41, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

It seems pretty 'Good' to me. Shuffle! and Kanon may be better, but perhaps we should consider them more in the A class range Fate in the Good class. Kanon is much better than it was btw.--SeizureDog 22:06, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject Visual novels

A project on a company with only five games seems rather narrow to me. I've been thinking about pushing for a WikiProject visual novels though. Would you mind closing down the Key project and incorperating it into the visual novel project instead? As many visual novels as there are out there, only a handful get any focus, and I think having a project could help. Plus, since visual novels aren't quite games and aren't quite anime, I think it could use its own project.--SeizureDog 10:14, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

I agree with SeizureDog on this. In light of Farix's recent proposal for Work Forces, perhaps a visual novel version of the idea on his sandbox, User:TheFarix/Sandbox2, would have less maintenance required. Key could have its own section. --Squilibob 10:24, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject Visual novels looks great. Sign me up.--SeizureDog 00:10, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

That makes two of us :P--SeizureDog 05:27, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Seems good enough as it is to start. Just move it to a real namespace and add it at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory/Culture/Games.--SeizureDog 05:46, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, take out the VG template and replace it with the visual novel one. Also take out the anime template if it's just a visual novel without adaptations.--SeizureDog 06:59, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Why do you keep reverting yourself on adding the template?--SeizureDog 07:20, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Where is the proposal for creating this WikiProject? --Squilibob 07:10, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Proposals aren't required, but rather are more of a tool to see if there's interest before project creation. Even if it's not a major project, I guess it makes sense to make it independent due to the unique nature of the project. It's not anime, but a lot of anime editors are likely to be interested, and they're definitely games, but not typical games.. etc. I guess we'll find out if it works or not. -- Ned Scott
Reading your message again, incase you were just asking for a direct link to the project, Wikipedia:WikiProject Visual novels. -- Ned Scott 07:18, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Well for now (I guess) I have moved it back to my user subpage. Should I go ahead and officially propose it or not?---- () 07:20, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Doesn't matter much, since as I said, the proposal page is more of a tool than an actual process. -- Ned Scott 07:21, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Fine, then back to mainspace it is then.---- () 07:26, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Re: All of my articles/edits

It seems we have very similar tastes, but I can't help but think you're stalking me, as within minutes of completing any edit, you've already come along behind me to make your own. While I appreciate your dedication to Wikipedia's style guidelines, at least some of the edits seem to reflect personal taste over stylistic consistency or grammatical errors.
Anyway, it's a pleasure meeting you.- WrexSoul 06:21, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:-S^M-_NHK_ni_Youkoso_!_21_RAW-(020218)06-42-52-.JPG

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:-S^M-_NHK_ni_Youkoso_!_21_RAW-(020218)06-42-52-.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 04:09, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Yoake_Cresent_Love_logo.png. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. in re recent edit to Pani Poni Dash!

If you didn't yet know, per WP:MOS#Disputes over style issues, it's "inappropriate for a Wikipedia editor to change from one style to another unless there is some substantial reason for the change"—switching from British to American spelling is not considered a substantial reason. I'm not going to revert it, because that would be just as silly, and I imagine one of the other people watching the article will wind up doing it anyway. Just... you know, try not to do that. —TangentCube /c /t  18:10, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

re reply: except that the article, as originally written by the "first major non-stub contributor" (User:Fireaza, revision 27927781) used British English, and has been that way since. Wholesale style changes excepted, of course. —TangentCube /c /t  03:24, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

"Studio"

In the common usage and within its most well-known context, a studio has always been referred to solely as the animation studio behind the production of the series in question, and this has always been in use since the institution of the infobox. Often, there are several companies involved within the production of a particular series, but these should not be referred to within the main studio tab in the infobox, as it would greatly clog it up with unnecessary information which could otherwise be mentioned in the article or its staff/credits section. I mean, wouldn't you agree that if each of the foreign licenseers of a particular series is mentioned, it would make the article seem extremely clogged up? The different licenses can easily be mentioned in the article and especially in Suzumiya Haruhi's case, the original right holder of the series is already mentioned in the infobox itself: Kadokawa Shoten. Anchors on Haruhi Suzumiya

That was something I saw someone add to Rozen Maiden and thought it would be useful on this page as well. What it does is make it to where I can link references or redirects specific to the character (say on one of the voice actors where the role is mentioned) directly to the character information itself, by putting "List of characters relating to Haruhi Suzumiya#(character name)" as the link, like this: Yuki Nagato. --EmperorBrandon 05:22, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

Re:mourning Deadbooru

I actually thought an article on danbooru was way overdue...and then I found this -> Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Danbooru

The fact that it's dead now doesn't really help establish notability, unless if we could make a case about how the software spawned...eh, two clones. But if you really wish to recreate the article, I suggest asking an admin to retrieve the deleted material for you, and go through the developer's blog._dk 07:49, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Strawberry Panic

Strawberry Panic! has been assessed and put on hold for lack of a reception section, and a need for more OOU stuff. Wasn't sure if you'd noticed the review on the talk page. -Malkinann 22:38, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

I didn't do the assessing! I've just been waiting for A Vindication of the Rights of Woman to be assessed (which is currently next in line...) and I've been looking after the somewhat related Maria-sama ga Miteru. So my reasons are perhaps a little selfish, but I do wish you luck regardless. You can look at Serial Experiments Lain and Excel Saga for examples of what a reception section should look like. Righto - I've changed the links to her blogs to be to the right ones - being accurate is important for GA. -Malkinann 05:26, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

I've listed the SP! peer review at the WP:LGBT project and the WP:ANIME project, as well as at the visual novels project (for good luck). Hopefully between the lot of them you'll get some decent reviews. -Malkinann 21:01, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

No worries.  :) Btw, would you mind participating in the peer review for Sailor Moon? WP:SM is trying to get it to GA status, and I'd appreciate it if you could give it a look-over. -Malkinann 00:08, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Anime infobox

? Seemed like a good idea. -- Ned Scott 03:58, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

This should work. Uses if conditionals. "|" within the #if statements are replaced with {{!}} because of some weird technical limitation, but other than that it's like this:
{{ #if: {{{variable|}}} | if used then show this | if not used then show this, or leave empty }}

Original Kanon

Did you ever happen to find a place to get fansubs for the 2002 anime of Kanon? Because I, uh, totally think that's an immoral practice that shouldn't be done. *shifty eyes*--SeizureDog 09:32, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. Nice to find one that actually has seeds. I never did really like torrents too much, as I'm always looking for obscure shit that nobody every seems to seed for more than a week or so. Visual novels are some of the hardest to catch it seems, which of course makes working in its project rather difficult and I'm sure you're aware why importing them would be a pain ($70-80 for a new release? Never). I don't suppose you've had many leads there? I plan on getting one of the PS2 budget priced ports (probably Kanon, not many options really) sometime, but $35 is still a lot to pay for a visual novel... At least I do own one legally now though, First Kiss Story for the PS1. It's kinda got that bad, early 90s anime style to it though. Can't really tell from the boxart though, I need to find a screenshot for it. Damnit, I'm rambling. But yeah, where do we stand in being able to move the Visual Novel project forward? I need more to play in order to write sheet for articles.--SeizureDog 09:58, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I was able to obtain Shuffle! (found a torrent), but I got stuck because I never was able to get Tick! Tack! or Really? Really! (and thus, don't really know how the hell the storyline goes in them.) You're right in that we're able to get some visual novel articles up to GA class without playing them, but so far, we've only been doing those which also have an popular anime adaptation, which obviously makes things a lot easier to figure out. Half of the reason I knew what was going on in the Shuffle! game was because it had also happened in the anime (but not always). I'm pretty sure that PC games don't have any sort of region lock to them, but never tried it so I'm not 100%. I was actually also able to get Fate/stay night as well, but it's a bunch of text and no voice acting, so it's not very fun to go through (plus you can actually die). If you're getting games for PSP, you might think about getting Snow Portable [1] which gets released in April 26. I'd get it, but there's no PS2 re-release for it. Our decently priced (and still good) options for the PS2 are pretty much limited to games with a 'Best' tag here. Interlude also got a 'Best' release [2].--SeizureDog 10:53, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
You're forgetting about an important effect having a popular anime has though: English speaking fans. The reason you're able to even find information on the visual novels they're adapted from is because fans who want to know everything about the series start to dig it up. Finding information on say, Utawarerumono might be feasible, but trying to get info for White Album is going to be a hell of a lot harder. Also, I so hate these overly simple names like Air and Shuffle! Those series are so damn hard to run searches for sometimes (and White Album certainly wouldn't be any better).--SeizureDog 11:21, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
In any case, information on plot and characters never was what kept manga and anime articles from being GA, it's a lack of everything else. We still need to figure out how to get better references for the technical stuff. And our "Critical responce" sections still suck. I'm not even sure if any English review site is truly reputable enough to include, since we're really pretty much just citing blogs (though it's the best we've got atm). So for nice printed reviews, we're just left with Famitsu, who only review the ports and certainly aren't focused on the genre at all (besides which, we can't find scans to see what they actually say about the games). I think what we really need to do is get connections with our Japanese friends on their Wikipedia and see if anyone has some eroge focused magazines (like Push!!) they can help us out with. I'd like to import such a magazine sometime, but that's a very, very, narrow market and I've had little luck in finding sellers. --SeizureDog 11:57, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Yatta! Check it out, something better than the Getchu references we've been using: National sales rankings for PC games in Japan (and yes, they actually do differ from Getchu's rankings). The original Kanon releases are too early, but the 2004 PC edition had a #16 debut and the all-ages 2005 version had a #42 debut. I'll have to switch out my Shuffle! references soon it seems.--SeizureDog 12:39, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
The Getchu sales rankings were good when we didn't have anything else, but I think we should replace them now that we have national information. After all, they are only the sales from one website.--SeizureDog 01:12, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Planetarian

What are you talking about? There's clearly "Setting" and "Characters" sections right there. There's not really to say much in the way of themes without being OR. But anyways, I'll probably work on the article sometime and bring it up to standard. Being short and having an English translation should make the in-universe part a breeze. Compared to Key's other works at least. --SeizureDog 10:37, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

I see. Confusing grammar there. Anyways, there's really not much of a theme to Planetarian, except obviously the whole star thing. It's actually not really long enough to build any themes. Of course, I could act like I'm writting an essay for English and be like "Planetarian has themes of loss and living in the past" or something. I dunno, I should just play it again. It's so damn sad though... Oh yeah, and you can play a kenetic novel, just like you can play a movie or a (recorded) song. There is that auto function after all.--SeizureDog 10:55, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Could you take a look at the article and suggest anything that needs to be done? I'm going to give it a shot at FA in the next couple of days. --SeizureDog 21:55, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Well it is going to be hard, but I figure I might as well give it a shot. What convinced me to try is that I've finally found staff interviews, and so can actually get some information on the development of the game (including why it's called Shuffle! in the first place).
  • I removed the critical responce section because not having the section is better than having a weak one. I'm get the feeling that I'm never going to be able to find a reliable, Japanese review to use for the PC version of the game so I might as well give it up.
  • Since when do language icons go at the end of the link? I've always seen them come first.
  • I don't see why the "Sales ranking charts" would qualify as "too listy", it's pretty short, and articles on albums have similar charts. Also, it really sucked when it was in prose form, which is why I converted it in the first place.
  • You make somewhat of a good point about a Setting section, but there's not much to say about it. It's modern Japan, with devils and gods, whose realms are never even visited in the game.--SeizureDog 04:18, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I was only able to find them in art books. Flowers are actually hardly ever shown in the town, I don't know where you got that idea. I am quite sure that the use of sunflowers in the opening credits (for both the game and anime) signifies romance (I think sunflowers are like roses to the Japanese) but of course, I can't find a cite for that. It's weird that despite how tied in flowers are to the characters, they never play an important role in the plot. Sort of like how everything in Kanon is based around snow (ever notice the yuki (雪; snow) in Nayuki?), but never actually is important to the plot. At least I do have cites to make for the individual characters' flowers now. (I'm not sure how dead leaves implies being "romantic" though...the Japanese are odd.--SeizureDog 04:46, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Overused Japanese visual metaphor

I'm so sick of seeing falling cherry blossoms in anime. Not as much as TRIP!BOOB though.

Have you not received a barnstar yet? I didn't see any holding place for them. Anyways, you certainly deserve one for all of your work on anime/manga/visual novel related stuff. Ganbatte and all that.--SeizureDog 05:20, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Wow, that "I love to sing songs" comment just struck me as incredibly random. Oh, btw, Kanon 2002 sucks. It's amazing how much difference there is between the two adaptations considering they have the same source material and (almost) the same cast. Somehow, even the voice acting sucks more in the 2002 version, and I can't figure out how that could be. Granted, Tomokazu Sugita is my favorite male seiyuu, so that helped, but I'm not sure what everyone elses' problem was. Of course, the bigger budget helped, but too bad we've got nothing to source for that. It would be nice to know how much more money was spent on the remake.--SeizureDog 06:29, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, it makes me wonder how good the visual novel actually is. After all, same voice actors and same art style (god I hate that large chin style). "Adaquate for the times" is an odd way to put it, seeing how it's only 4 years older (though it looks like it could have been made in the '80s). Who the hell remakes anything (in the same medium) in less than five years anyways? I swear it's the first time I've ever heard of anything being remade so quickly. I should find a new game to download myself. Oh, btw, here's Shuffle! if you're interested.--SeizureDog 07:12, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
I just used DAEMON Tools for Shuffle! and the like. How's Shuffle! not to your tastes? Just mostly into the sad-girl stuff? There's this one part in Shuffle! that just kills me every freaking time I hear it. It's the part in Asa's path where Kaede accepts that Rin is in love with Asa instead but asks her to be able to keep on watching him. It's a shame that they completely screwed it up in the anime, as it's so powerful in the game. Just listen to the ~3 minute exchange. Damn good voice acting T_T. You don't even have to understand it to find it sad. Oh, and if you ever find a torrent for Clannad (or any visual novel really) drop me a line.--SeizureDog 08:09, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
I'm not sure if it's Key that I love or Kyoto Animation. I do like a good depressing story though, I'm so sick of the stereotypical Hollywood happy ending. I do perfer the H versions though, as porn with a plot is so refreshing. Don't like the art style of early Key though (Kanon and Air), so I'd get the all ages versions of those probably, but Shuffle! has some really good scenes. Except for Primula. Damn "Onii-chan!" imouto lolicon characters...--SeizureDog 08:45, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Uh, there was no question there. You just said the site for DaemonTools is down and that it's like IsoBuster. And yes, I actually do like flat soda.--SeizureDog 08:55, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Oh. Well, I suppose they're similar. I wouldn't know.--SeizureDog 09:20, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

A pickle

I was reading Navel's copyright FAQ page and realized that there are free use images available. However, those images all have watermarks. The page also says something about how you can use CG images but to "please be modest". It's bugging me because it seems like it's just barely possible that we can make these articles contain free use images (which policy says to strive for), but I'm not quite sure how. The finer points of the FAQ are lost in translation. Of course, we could go all doujin on these articles and create fanart for all of these characters to illustrate them, but I really don't think that's such a good idea. Btw, Key has a similar policy for its works.--SeizureDog 06:20, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

RE:Clannad and stuff

Thanks for the previous torrent for Clannad, but I haven't been able to download it yet. I bum my internet off my neighbors, and I haven't been able to have a stable connection long enough to download it yet. As for if I can translate Japanese: I can, but only extremely slowly, as I have to constantly look up kanji, which is a major pain. So generally, I'm just able to skim the contents until I happen to spot a little bit I know is important, and then very slowly figure out what it says exactly. I was able to figure out that they talk about the naming of Shuffle! as it was one of the few times the title (in English) was mentioned in the interview and I was able to read enough to see the guy was talking about what the word meant and all. Still haven't actually got around to really translating it enough to use in the article yet though. --SeizureDog 02:24, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

I've noticed that you have uplaoded the image mentioned above, and being used in Nagasarete Airantou. However, the fact that it is in English Wikipedia means that I (as well as other readers) would be expecting that the title to be in English format. I can't fix this problem for you because images at here cannot be moved like articles do--the actual fix would involve re-uploading the image using a seperate name, then tag the old image for deletion at WP:IFD.

I am unable to do this fix as the uploader would be different and may constitute Plagiarism (credit-stealing) to me, can you please fix it yourself. Much thx. You may want to use something like Nagasarete ep1 or something like that to be the new name.--Blackhawk charlie2003 14:15, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Strawberry Panic!

Heya, how's the article going? You gonna take it to FAC again? Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 02:43, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

It got a bit difficult to read so I didn't absorb all of it. But the issues I saw come out of it were minor sourcing problems and not brilliant prose, both of which can be solved. So I hope the previous FAC didn't dishearten you too much to work on it. :) I really do think its a great article and kudos to you for writing it. Dengeki Bunko

As far as I know, we only used MediaWorks because there wasn't a Dengeki Bunko Wikipedia page. Now that we have one, it seems strange to link to the corporation rather than the label. The label information is much more useful. Just as most books would say Del Rey instead of Random House, most people would say it was published by Dengeki Bunko rather than MediaWorks...which is just a subdivision of Kadokawa anyway. Doceirias 09:23, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

So what? I don't see any reason to put a link to MediaWorks there, and I do see several good reasons to put Dengeki Bunko there. The Dengeki Bunko article states clearly that it is a division of MediaWorks, so the accuracy is preserved, and the useful information, the list of books they publish and the link to their award, is easily obtained. Additionally, as I said above, this follows precedent - all books on Wikipedia are listed under the label rather than the publishing house. Parasyte for instance, follows the Del Rey vs. Random House labeling mentioned above. Doceirias 09:43, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
I wrote the Dengeki Bunko Prize article. No one is arguing that Dengeki Bunko is not one of MediaWorks publishing labels, so restating that every time and completely ignoring my arguments leaves me at a loss as to how to respond.
And now you've changed the Dengeki Bunko article to be less accurate. MediaWorks does not have a reputation for welcoming new talent; Dengeki Bunko, and the editors of that label do. Doceirias 20:12, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
Sounds like a plan - Dengeki Bunko in the infobox, MediaWorks in the article? Pretty much exactly what I was after.
Didn't mean to claim authorship or sound arrogant - wrote/translated, not much difference to me. Actually, I can't remember now if I did the whole thing or if there was a stub and I just added the winner's list...
I don't call myself an expert, but as a professional light novel translator I do tend to know more than the average fan. I try not to assume that makes me always right. Doceirias 23:09, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
I work freelance (and at the moment, I'm not working for them at all) so I only know what they've said on forums - the light novel line has been pushed back to fall so they can try and publicize it better. I know Boogiepop never sold like they hoped, so I really hope they can figure out a way to get people reading the new line. They're good people. Doceirias 23:31, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Macronned article titles

I'm guessing you knew this and just forgot, but when you create articles like Kei Shindō that have macrons in the title, please create redirects from the unmacronned forms. Almost no one can type macrons into the search box. Thanks and happy editing! Dekimasuよ! 14:09, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Light novel bits

Most Dengeki Bunko novels are not serialized. Even with Kino no Tabi, only the first volume was, and occasional selected stories along the way. Also, about the Seinen/Shonen thing - we need to figure out a way to be consistent with that. I maintain that the terms aren't used with light novels at all, but the discussion about that topic on the project talk page didn't really get anywhere. User:ChuChu has been putting Shonen on a bunch of Dengeki Bunko light novels, while you seem to have Seinen on a bunch. I'd rather remove them all, or only apply them to the manga adaptations, but there seems to be a lot of resistance to that idea. In which case we should figure out which term we want to incorrectly apply to the line... Doceirias 05:28, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

I've actually never read any of MediaWorks magazines - is Dengeki HP a shonen magazine? That was ChuChu's reasoning...
I can confirm that the Missing novels are all listed as "kakioroshi." That might be a mistake on the Japanese page. Doceirias 05:49, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
Ya Ma isn't part of the series. It's a spin-off novel, and they presumably excerpted a chapter as a preview. I don't think that counts... Doceirias 08:58, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

You removed Higurashi Essay link to Daisuki.com under the pretext there are too many links and it is a fansite.

First, essays will always be labeled as fansites, this is pointles;

Second, the links list the TIPS at animesuki that, worst than a fansite, is a FORUM. The essay was a lot more complete and helpfull for readers.

Thirdly, there is no rule about the length of links as long as they remain usefull.

I have re-added the link while we discuss the proper posture here. Animesuki is a torrent site AND fansite, ANN and Animenfo can fall under the same creteria, and there will never be too much links as long as they are usefull.

The essay at http://www.daisuki.com.br/index.php?acao=estudosv&id=255 is a compilation of animesuki TIPS and HINTS with actual help from the translators from animesuki who did them, it's a lot more complete than the basic TIPS. Caiobrz 22:20, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Aloha!

Hello Juhachi... I had a question about Japanese numbers. I sort of know how to count to 10 (forgive my terrible, awful, probably massively incorrect spelling (I only sort of know them phoenetically)... itch, nee, sun, she, go, rocka, hichi, hachi, ku, ju... or something like that). So I had actually guessed that your name meant 10-8 (Ju-hachi). So I came to your page and felt pretty proud of myself that I was sort of close. :-) But my question is, is that how Japanese numbers work for the teens? Is it just Ju + the other digit? Like 12 would be ju-nee (or whatever the correct spelling would be)? Or ju-rocka for 15, etc.? Just thought I'd try and expand my Japanese vocab a tiny bit. You can answer here if you want, I'll keep an eye on your talk page for awile. Or you can call me silly and ignore me. :-) Either way, mahalo nui loa. --Ali'i 13:32, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks! I learned to count them, but it was a long time ago, so I only know the vague phonetic way of counting. Thanks again. A hui hou. --Ali'i 21:14, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

Hihi!

Hiya Juhachi! Thank you for all your work on Kashimashi, I can tell you put a lot of effort into it. I became interested in it recently, and am watching the episodes now.. was gonna work on it if it wasn't a good article yet, but you've done an excellent job. Let me know if you need any help and I'll be happy to contribute. --BloodDoll 04:52, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the quick & friendly reply. Could you elaborate on what you think needs to be done on each of the suggestions you gave me? I think part of the problem is that I am a new Wikipedian, so I don't really know what the standards are. For example, I think the List of Kashimashi characters looks pretty darn good, myself! Same goes for the List of Kashimashi episodes. As for the reception, I'm not sure if you saw it but Newtype USA had a short review on Kashimashi (July 2006 issue) & I have that issue. I could add info on that, perhaps?--BloodDoll 06:27, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Alrighty! I'll do what I can. Please note that I have final exams next week, so I won't be able to devote as much time to working on Kashimashi as I'd like until after the exams are over. Thanks for taking the time to respond! --BloodDoll 07:20, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
A quick question for you -- The List of Kashimashi episodes is missing references completely. As I have the series, I can perhaps add references to information that is verifiable in the anime episodes themselves? Probably a good idea, but I just wanted to check with you first. --BloodDoll 17:55, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Nevermind then, I thought that inline references might be needed (again, still new to Wikipedia so I'm not sure what the common consensus on such things are yet... figuring it out as I go along, really!) Thanks for correcting me. =) --BloodDoll 21:59, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

Shakugan no Shana & Image:Tenjō wo Kakeru Monotachi.jpg

Hi Juhachi, I have changed the image in question to the actual album cover. The image you had uploaded was the CD's back cover. Also, do you have any suggestions on how to improve Shakugan no Shana? I would like to get it upped to GA if possible, thanks. --Remy Suen 21:14, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Cool, no problem. I will likely be without Internet for a few days after today (until say Mon-Wed). I will contact you again when I have regular access. --Remy Suen 21:32, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
Hi Juhachi, I should be back up and running with regular-enough Internet access. Please leave some comments on the Shakugan no Shana talk page when you get a chance with your comments and ideas. No rush, thanks. :) --Remy Suen 02:58, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Dengeki hp logo.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Dengeki hp logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use.

Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 21:39, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Air episodes - Juhachi

There was much discussion in the past on the removal of these pages. Don't tell me you've forgotten the pages and pages of discussion on this.-- 22:11, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

I see no evidence that supports mass blanking/removal/vandalism) of these pages. There are plenty of Star Trek episode articles as well as many other series. Either they all stay or they all go. -- Cat chi? 22:15, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
At the very least, would you mind postponing when these episode articles are to start? I mean, many of them don't even have any summaries or very little content; if we can wait until content could be filled, then perhaps we could keep them? Kinda the same thing with the character articles as some have very little info and are just stubs (and were stubs long before that between June 2006 and December 2006 when I merged them into List of Air characters. All I want is a two month postpone, and I guarantee you all of the articles will be filled with info akin to the Kanon character articles and Kanon 2006 anime episode articles. Just two months with these pages blanked; that's all I ask.-- 22:27, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
I do not see any reason to "postponing" this, though I'd be willing to talk rather than a senseless revert war. I would however welcome you to restore the articles in the time being so as not to unnecessarily keep many maintenance processes unnecessarily busy (such as orphaned fair use images deletion). Should the conclusion agree with your discussion, articles would be easy enough to revert. This would also allow people to review and compare the content of the articles with lesser difficulty.
I see no policy or guideline supporting mass blanking of episode articles. That includes WP:EPISODE. The "Merging" of episodes removed a lot of article content. There already is enough information "collectively" to make up more than an article. Unless there is a consensus against TV Episodes in general, I do not see any reason for the blankings. I would encourage you to restore the articles and help expand them with information we would expect on a featured article.
I disagree with that merge. WP:FICT has been cited as the rationale for their blankings even for the main characters. Aside from the two characters (Sora and Patato) can be considered minor as per WP:FICT, the others have dedicated episodes/arcs about them. There is far more than enough room to expand those articles. As for the the two I mentioned, it feels ridiculous to create a list just for those two characters.
I am walking away from the "revert war" before it starts hoping that there will be a sensible discussion involving the entire wikipedia community since I want this discussion to have implications on every similar article. Or alternatively (as you suggested after an edit conflict at my talk page) and more preferably a join collaboration in expanding the articles in question since you seem more than a sensible person to me.
-- Cat chi? 22:45, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
Okay, I won't lie; I would want these character articles and episode articles on Wikipedia, but you didn't even help in expanding them after their creation last summer, and they stayed stubs for about 6 months. I was really disappointed in this as Air is one of my favorite series and at the time I saw that blanking them would be okay for the time being. You want individual character and episode articles, fine, I do too, but the way you went about it seemed wrong in a way. For one, you're relying too much on the anime information while the game info should come first, this is in regards to character summaries in the character articles. See the Kanon characters for examples.
However, I am still against the creation of Air (anime), since all that info can now be found on the main article, and I am further against the use of {{Air}} as with {{Key}}, this reduces clutter and makes things more compact and easier to navigate. Aren't we on Wikipedia supposed to reduce redundancy?-- 22:53, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
I am terribly sorry, I got distracted with "real life" and "commons" (I became an admin on commons and it practically consumed my time) related tasks. I completely forgot about those articles in question. I have more free time now though I will be "freer" in 3 weeks.
I have my reservations for both Air (anime) and {{Air}} - but thats not really critical or crucial to resolve right away I will however place my rationale below. I do not expect you to respond or agree with it. Its just my perspective.
  • Just for the sake of clarifying my stance on the template: I do not mind a {{Key}} provided it is restructured by series. It looks hard to follow at the moment. {{Navigation}} can be used for each of the series for example. Probably it is best to redirect {{Air}} to {{Key}} if we are going to stick to a single {{Key}}.
  • My approach to the issue is that Air (anime) (such as how anime was created, how was it criticized and etc) should focus on the anime while the Air (visual novel) focus on the game. For example the Game (older versions at least) is considered Erotic, the anime does not have any trace of Erotic scenes - not even pantsu shots. However Both anime and game are in the same genre. I haven't played the game much mind you (It was way too boring for the first 1 hour of clicking between 4 or 5 scenes).
I am not much of an expert in article writing so I would welcome your preferred examples to go about expanding the articles. I'd like to note, I am quite pleased with your approach to this even though we are at a disagreement on certain points.
-- Cat chi? 23:12, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
Since both you and I want to improve quality we should work on these articles. How about this idea:
  • I think we can observe WP:EPISODE#Dealing_with_problem_articles. It talks about how stubs are allowed and etc. Though I do not see a reason to rush things.
  • Let's work on these articles one at a time. I propose we start with the first air episode, Breeze right away while leaving everything else (other Air articles) alone.
Would this method work with you?
-- Cat chi? 23:23, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Okay, I'll say this: I'd be more willing to accept an Air (anime) page provided that more info about the anime itself was included, such as what you said with how the anime was developed, or how it was criticized. DVD sales could also be included, and now that the anime has been licensed, the latter two may not be too hard to find, but then anime development may be difficult to find into on and to cite. Currently, there is nothing on this version to make it it's own article as all that info can be found on the main article under the Anime section, and the Story arcs section which seems much more relavent to cite its inclusion in the game rather than how it was distributed in the anime that came after it. I'm talking about precedent here, so the game should always come first.

Moreover, I can see that you were accepting a bit of my cleanup strategies, such as with this revision, and going along with the merging to Sora (Air) and Potato (Air) into Yukito Kunisaki and Kano Kirishima, so I can see that we may be able to work together provided we reach a concensus.

About {{Air}}, I would much rather use one template, {{Key}} to apply to all of Keys works in order to avoid redundancy and make it easier to navigate with a single template to edit rather than 6 (Key has 6 games now). The Key template once was organized according to series, seen here but I reorginized it to the current version because it looked better this was with how it is originized now. Also, to reduce clutter, this version was replaced by including Category:Kanon characters in the template, and the same could be done for the Air characters I believe. And then only Kanon and Air have enough articles to constitute organization by series, as Clannad alone only has 3 and the other 3 games only have a main article, and soundtracks since the other three don't even have anime adaptations to them.

As for the proposal you just gave me on my talk page, it's a sound idea, but the only reason I wanted a 2 month postpone is because I am in college right now and I will have no time to really delve into this massive project until the summer. My belief is that if all of the articles were done at the same time (as in work on them in namespace and then copy/paste into article space when finished with all of them), users such as Ned Scott would not have much to work with in terms of the guidelines set out in WP:EPISODE. Right now, most are stubs without references, so he has enough info to warrent deletion.-- 23:33, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Anime is hard to write about. Even most significant series lack from a good set of secondary sources. Such sources are typically in Japanese and are written on magazines and etc only. Oh My Goddess! talks about the series in general while linking to the relevant articles with much more content. We could follow a similar model.
I am agreeing with the mergings of Sora (Air) and Potato (Air) but I am pondering if it really is the best decision. Sora is actually Yukito so the merge makes sense. Potato is a stray dog and does not belong to anyone. While it is a minor character it is the only minor character so leaving it as an article would in my opinion be fine since everyone else can be complete articles.
See: {{Command & Conquer series}}. Note that several content on the article links to the same article but different sections. That is allowed. It is easier for me to use navigation templates organized by series. We could have one template for Kannon, one template for Air and one template for other. I am willing to compromise on this as much as you are. All I wish is the best possible template. -- Cat chi? 23:57, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
To admit the truth, I haven't payed too much attention to your cleanup (all I noticed was addition of content which is good enough for me typically). Now that I review it more closely I still agree with it mostly. I would recommend using European dates (28 August 2005) rather than US (August 28 2005) though thats nothing major to sweat about.
I find Ned Scott's involvement a bit unhelpful. But I have a personal policy not to discuss contributors so I will leave it at that.
Most of the stubs actually link to the official website (which I admit has very little material). The episode itself is also a very good source. I could counter that argument with that but it isn't really important at this point since we will process them all one by one.
-- Cat chi? 23:57, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
Regarding {{Command & Conquer series}}, the organization there I think is helpful, and we might be able to apply this to {{Key}}, with these sections: Kanon, Air, Other games (this would encompass the other 4 Key games, plus the 3 they made at Tactics), Key Sounds Label, Related.
Regarding the merging of Potato into the Kano article. While I agree with you it makes more sense for Sora to be in the Yukito article, there is no reason to create an article for Potato per WP:FICT. Thus, I did what I simiarly did with the Makoto Sawatari article in merging the Piro info into there because Makoto's the one that is closest to Piro anyway. Kano, by the same token, seems very close to Potato, and besides, Potato only appears in connection with Kano's story and as far as I remember, is unseen later on in the story after her arc is completed.
The Air articles are just really heated because of conflicting views. We have to form at least some concensus on this. Have you looked at Wikipedia talk:Television episodes#Is there a way to set an actual precedent for the management of all of these episode articles?? It seems users are still questioning notability and inclusion.-- 00:15, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
Yes, but Potato is a seperate character and WP:FICT would recommend listifying it. Which would be a one character list - would be silly. So it should be an article IMHO despite WP:FICT. Potato was seen after that arc. Throughout the entire series Potato was there for the kicks even at Kano's arc. It is a minor character but the only one.
Such users will never disappear. People have their reasons, I have mine. I already stated my views and I am tired of repeating myself to them for the past 2+ years. I do not want to name-call them as "deletionists" since I am often identified as one myself (contrary to how it may appear to you ^_^;).
-- Cat chi? 00:28, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
It still doesn't make sense that Potato should warrent it's own article. That would simultaniously go along with WP:FICT and go against it. The only solution is to merge it into the Kano article; this is one thing I'm absolutely adament about because even citing Potato as a minor character seems a stretch since it's only there as a moe prop for Kano; it didn't even really do anything that directly related to any of the storylines.-- 00:32, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
I guess I can compromise at this point. I would however reccomend a redirect to be left back. -- Cat chi? 01:07, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

I would think the content of episode 6 makes it quite unlikely that they are brother and sister. Matsuri asserts disbelief at Aono claiming that Yorito is her brother. It's not really speculation on my part. Could you double-check it? --Darkbane 23:31, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Australian Leaders of the Opposition FLC

Hi, would you please consider closing the above FLC. I am sick of waiting (lol). So far it has been listed for 20 days (and is 4 days since a comment has been made), has achieved 4 supports v 1 oppose. Consensus is that the oppose is invalid. Todd661 08:08, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Oretachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai

Hi, Juhachi. You added a release date of Oretachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai to the article, but probably it is not true. It would seem that an undecided release date of the game is assumed January 1, 2008 due to the database system in that website. Is there any other source? Regards.--Swind 03:39, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Fate/stay night categorization

If you disagree, I won't press the issue. I just think the page is currently cluttered with categories to the point that they are not useful navigation aids any longer, so trimming redundant ones is a good way of fixing that problem. I also made similar edits to Tsukihime and the like, if you didn't notice. --tjstrf talk 22:29, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

See WP:CAT#Some general guidelines point 3: "Articles should not usually be in both a category and its subcategory." --tjstrf talk 22:41, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
But by that logic, we needn't have Category:Fate/stay night or Category:Tsukihime at all, just their character subcategories, since everything else can be upmerged. That FSN is a Type Moon game is prominently mentioned in the lead section, so there is no risk of people missing this important fact. There's no risk of people missing it from the category view either, since the entire subcategory named after it makes for a far more prominent display than the single article listing below.
And in my opinion 18 categories is far too many. --tjstrf talk 23:00, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Alright, thank you for your understanding then. (My view is that the FSN and Tsukihime categories existed to subdivide the various Type-Moon novels and games by their respective series.)
Personal rule of thumb: if there's more than one line of categories, I start looking if there are any that should be trimmed. --tjstrf talk 23:40, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

I konw that adding sections on these topics are difficult but add what you can something it the section on the topic is better than nothing. Tarret 21:02, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

You have added a speedy deletion notice to François-Etienne Caulet, which is from public domain text, the 1913 Catholic Encyclopedia. Tagging of V-moda

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on V-moda. I do not think that V-moda fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because I think that the CNET award is at least a claim of significance. Why not try Prod or AfD. I request that you consider not re-tagging V-moda for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. DES (talk) 16:35, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

This article recently passed a GA nom. I left comments on the talk page. G1ggy! 10:58, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

Making it read like an encyclopaedic article will be difficult. Perhaps you could expand with some context, and explain why things are of broader interest. You may be able to trim listy bits by saying, for example, "earlier albums were released before the label formed", or "the company has produced 6 products including [their most famous]", adding links if needs be in a "see also" section (although the Category page may fulfil that function).

For inspiration, perhaps you could look at articles on other major companies - e.g. Microsoft - and see what other information is incorporated there; you could then attempt to add and remove the information in your article appropriately.

Finally someone explained it. I've been thinking it's random the whole time. It certainly looks ugly in Firefox, but if it messes up in other browsers, it can't be helped... --Darkbane talk 09:58, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Notability of Torino (artist)

A tag has been placed on Torino (artist), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JodyB talk 20:50, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Speedy Deletes

(cross posted from User talk:JodyB)

I did not delete the articles. I only marked them so that an admin could view them. The pages were 2 days old, had no assertion of notability and no references. Simply working for a company does not make the individual notable. You can seek to have them re-instated at WP:DRV. As for the Watashiya and Nymphet articles, I posted to AfD because I felt like the community should make that decision. I have no problem with you or the topics but we want, and I know you do also, this project to be the best. Again, I'm sorry you were disappointed. JodyB talk 01:46, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Nymphet

It truly surprised me that they decided to pull the title, especially since it is being made into an anime currently. The power of ANN is, apparently, scary. Kyaa the Catlord 06:28, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Oh I totally agree. If this was a yaoi title, Seven Seas and ANN would be burnt to the ground for pulling this... I'm shocked. I like ANN, and I even respect Zac's (The Answerman) viewpoints in most cases but this time he really made a big mistake imho. I'd preordered this title out of curiosity, but now I desire to see it even more. Too bad I don't read Japanese, or I'd just import it. (Guess there probably will be scanlations somewhere now.) I hope this doesn't have a negative effect on their Strawberry line since some of the yuri they've liscensed contains some rather questionable content. Kyaa the Catlord 07:20, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Otoboku images removed

Just FYI - there seems to be a policy debate war on the whole interpretation of "fair use", which seems to have no end. I don't know whether you were happy that the episode images were removed - I certainly wasn't - but would you like to restore them? Karn-b 13:29, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

It is indeed a pity. I'm glad other images were not removed, as it seems some editors are intent on making this place a bland, pictureless place. Nevertheless, the Otoboku article is exceedingly excellent! Although to help navigation, would it be helpful to add a navigation template at the bottom of the article? Deletion Help

Hey Juhachi, I want to delete the page Spiral Of Destiny, which is just an episode summary article with not much additional information. Any idea what criteria I should propose the deletion? (there's nothing worth merging) Eternal Sleeper 13:48, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Template

I prefer the inclusion of the {{Contains Japanese text}} template, particularly since other Featured Lists, such as List of Fullmetal Alchemist episodes, have it. Personally, I think it's a courtesy to viewers who aren't unable to see the text and are wondering what on earth it is. However, this is a minor issue, and I'm not going to fret about its inclusion or lack thereof. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 22:24, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

86.7.151.165

Thank you for making a report about 86.7.151.165 (talk · contribs · block log) on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you. TigerShark 22:38, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Remove the Parent project banner

I agree with the removal of the WikiProject Japan banner from this talk page in order to reduce dedundancy. The fact that the WikiProject Anime and manga banner is there shows that it's a Japanese series.-- 02:14, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

What of its good article status in said category, though? A lot of subjects fall under several Wiki projects. Drumpler 06:03, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

I think it's best to leave the discussion open for a little while longer while Shudda's concern is addressed, especially because the consensus otherwise is supportive (5 support, plus a groundless "too many citations" oppose by Biggspowd). Shudda's really the only one holding it back, based on the fact that he doesn't believe the inducters should be listed in the article, which I don't think is a big enough concern to fail. To be fair, I'm very involved with this subject and nomination, so I'm probably not the best person to ask about what to do here. --MarcK 01:31, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

Just to insert myself into discussion here, I don't think one against 5 indicates a lack of consensus. If it was two or three who had the same concern, then yes. If it was one person who felt the article legitimately failed the FL criteria, then yes. However in this case, it just seems to be a nitpicky detail. -- Scorpion0422 02:46, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
If a list fails, it should be because of reasons that many can agree upon, not because one guy doesn't understand how the WWE works. Also, I have seen plenty of FAs pass despite opposition. -- Scorpion0422 03:13, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

I've performed a copy-edit of the article. Please adds references to the music and the plot and characters sections. If so, we can be passed for a GA, unless our reviewer has more concerns. Thanks. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 05:45, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Couldn't you reference the episode as you did for the other two? Sephiroth BCR (Converse)
Thanks. I thinks that wraps up the concerns. I've asked our reviewer whether he has any more concerns. I think it will pass at this point though. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 06:55, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Nice

I just gotta say, you've been really kicking ass lately on these articles. -- Ned Scott 07:01, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

re List of cathedral in the UK

The final result is definitely an improvement, but I still don't think it was featureable. Once I'm done with my current pet project (refurbishing List of mammals of Canada), I'll look at it and make some extra improvements and stuff. Circeus 03:09, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Asatte no Houkou volume 1 cover.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Asatte no Houkou volume 1 cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:.hack_Legend_of_the_Twilight.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia 21:21, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Higurashi

This is apparently the current talk page, so I'm gonna put this message here. Please STOP deleting my link. It is the ONLY english Higurashi site in existence-the official site is not even up yet-and contains exstensive information, plus, it is growing everyday. I have read and reread the ELG, and the site is in no way violating them. I'm sick of having to keep writing messages to people who feel the need to delete such an important link without proper reason.TomitakePrincess 06:12, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

A favour

Hi! I read in your userpage that you speak Japanese and I thought you may be able to help me. I found an interview with Yuki Kajiura which would be quite useful in the .hack//Sign article, but it's in Japanese. Since I'm just starting to study the language, I can't translate it myself. So if it doesn't bother you, could you translate it for me? I would really appreciate it (the interview is in these three scans 123).Kazu-kun 20:28, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

You finally free? :) User talk:White Cat/Archive/2007/05#Air episodes - Juhachi -- Cat chi? 11:25, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

The situation has completely changed since then I believe. There is in no way that those Air episode articles are going to be made ever again. Those articles all lacked secondary sources, and I now would actively promote their deletion if you were to recreate them. As for the character articles, only the 4 main characters should deserve separate articles per WP:FICT, while the others should be kept in the List of Air characters article.-- 11:53, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Well, I am not asking about their current situation. I am asking if you are going to help or not. You said you would back then. i see no change in the situation. I have waited this long. -- Cat chi? 12:01, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
And I am saying that it depends on a few things. Yes, I am free, but if you go blatently against policy, then I am not going to help you. We've had our share of differences in the past, and we still disagree on some of the finer points.-- 12:08, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Please read the discussion we had. Your approach to me is almost hostile. You said yourself you did want Air articles to have the coverage of Kannon (or something like that). -- Cat chi? 12:23, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
And as I said above, the situation has drastically changed, and my opinion is different now. The Kanon episode articles, and the minor characters for Kanon, have all been removed by me per the policies set at WP:EPISODE and WP:FICT. Currently, the Kanon set of articles is nearly identical to the Air set of articles, except Kanon has 6 separate articles for the 6 main characters. Air should also, in my opinion, get 4 separate articles for the 4 main characters, but nothing beyond that. No Air (anime), or Air (manga) articles, or anything else; just those 4 articles. Nothing else has to be made, or can be made realistically without going aganisnt policy.-- 12:26, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Those are guidelines, not policies. Will you help or not. Please do not lecture me on policy when I am asking if you will participate in an article improvement drive or not. -- Cat chi? 12:54, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Actually forget it, this is being far too unpleasant to begin with. -- Cat chi? 13:05, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Image:ひびわれた協奏曲.png

I have tagged Image:ひびわれた協奏曲.png as {{orphaned fairuse}}. In order for the image to be kept at Wikipedia, it must be included in at least one article. If this image is being used as a link target instead of displayed inline, please add {{not orphan}} to the image description page to prevent it being accidentally marked as orphaned again. Lucky Star

Concerning the number of episodes, just stating that there are "24" episodes can be ambiguous. It's unclear whether 24 episodes were released or it's scheduled for that amount. Writing "Scheduled for" won't do any harm any more than it does good, so why remove it? -- 10:36, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

It doesn't take time or effort for the "Scheduled for" to be deleted. Users who don't bother to look at the episode list might mistake the information stating that the anime has actually ended. If you insist, I won't bother changing it; suit yourself, I don't want any debate. -- 15:25, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Non-free use disputed for Image:Akira_and_Natashou.JPG

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Akira_and_Natashou.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 10:33, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei edits

1. The plot wasn't mine. It is the plot as given on the first volume of the manga, but yes, pure nonsense we don't need. 2. Why not to other wikis? Fansites, yes, no way. But that kind of wiki seems exactly the sort of further reading external links are designed for. Except for being in Japanese, which might make it not worth having. Or was this a policy I'm unaware of? 3. How is a list of ISBNs for the manga pointless? Seems like a valuable piece of information to me. Just as valuable as the anime episodes, and keeps the article a little less anime focused. Doceirias 03:52, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

That was pretty much the standard I had for wikis as well. But the sheer amount of content on that one suggested it met those criteria. There are literally thousands of jokes identified and explained by a large number of editors. And I did find the link on the Jwikipedia page.
An ISBN list for manga is a standard feature in articles for untranslated manga, just like a episode list is for articles on anime. Not sure how a list of ISBNs could be rewritten as prose - if it went to good article, the episode list would undoubtedly branch off into it's own page, as would the list of manga volumes.
One of things I'm concerned about here is an emphasis on anime adaptations over the source material. Allowing anime lists but cutting virtually all manga specific information is part of that. Obviously, a boring list of numbers is not exactly exciting, but it's better than dismissing the manga in a couple of lines. Any suggestions how would could make it better? Expand the list into something that would actually deserve it's own page? Doceirias 04:17, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

I must object to the vote count - one of those opposes was inactionable (Tribe of Gum's - the removal of specific citations in favour of a general citation to the same work was at the request of Circeus). Will (talk) 12:23, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Still, it's not really 8/4. Will (talk) 12:27, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

The article Planetarian: Chiisana Hoshi no Yume you nominated as a good article has failed , see Talk:Planetarian: Chiisana Hoshi no Yume for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of said article. If you oppose this decision, you may ask for a review. Giggy UCP 02:25, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

"Anime" refers to Planetarian (I couldn't think of a better word...). Sorry about that confusion. As for the characters section, I just think it looks a bit like listcruft (to an extent) to include it, but that's my opinion, and that isn't something I'd make a fuss or fail a GA over. If something is in the story, you can't cite that, as it's a self reference. Find a book review, or something along those lines...Amazon.com, etc. There must be some sources on the internet that discuss the work, and you can use them as references. Giggy UCP 02:36, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
I'm sorry, but I still can't pass the article with the current referencing. If you still disagree with this, please take this to GAR. Thank you, Giggy UCP 23:59, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Aya_Hirano.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 07:47, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

I have replaced the tag that you removed from this image. While it may be difficult for you to go to Japan and take a picture of her, it would be less difficult to:
  • contact a Japanese Wikipedian to take a picture of her at an appearance
  • contact her (agent) to request that they release an image of her under a compatible license
  • search flickr for existing pictures of her and request their copyright holder (if necessary) to release it under a compatible license.

not much

Hi, I'm not sure whether Wikipedia allows this kind of stuff on talk pages, but I was just wondering if an anime fan like you buys all your stuff or downloads them (for the stuff that aren't available easily). No meaning really, just wondering. Thanks. -- 16:40, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

Anime OST pages

I thought I would get your input on this since you've created many of them. I'm thinking of starting up a page on the first OST for School Rumble. As far as I can tell, the series has 2 OSTs, several singles, and several character image albums. I've noticed though, that some series (like the ones you've worked on) have a consolidated list of all the music, whereas there are others that have individual articles for the albums. Is there anything stated anywhere that a move towards a consolidated page (s) is preferable to shorter, individual articles? I'm thinking I could also set up pages by album category (e.g. singles, OSTs, chara albums) if warranted. --BrokenSphere 19:11, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

After some digging last night, I found that the series has quite a few more albums than the ones mentioned. The thing is, source info (in English at least) beyond track listings at best for these additional albums is sparse to lacking. I'm wondering if there are any general sources that you use besides Amazon/Amazon Japan and CD Japan for song/album length, and who's attributed to each track. BTW, I can recognize Japanese but can't read it. Thanks. --BrokenSphere 15:27, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

It's interesting that you mention that, because it looks like my ability to flesh out the info for any albums that I can't d/l looks like it may be constrained, because I can't access them. I did take a look at the Chudah's Corner site that you used as a source, but unfortunately there's no SR music on it. I don't think we can talk about what sources for access we use in Wiki space. --BrokenSphere 15:45, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Just letting you know that I found a source that I've used to get some track info. The page linked to was found by putting in the Japanese title or a part of it. Hope it helps. --BrokenSphere 03:06, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Notability of 07th Expansion

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on 07th Expansion, by JohnnyMrNinja (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because 07th Expansion seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting 07th Expansion, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 01:56, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

I also have an issue with you in this regard. What is your reason for tagging 07th Expansion for a speedy when it clearly does not satisfy the requirements for a speedy deletion? I must say, you've got a lot of nerve to try something like this. I have moved it to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/07th Expansion for a discussion to take place on the issue.-- 02:23, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Wow, sorry to offend you. I do agree that they have some notable products, but I was unable to find anything on the internet implying the notability of the company itself. The article has no references other than the translated interview [3] that imply any sort of notability. Also, after reading it again, I wouldn't have put the tag on if I had been able to understand the lead. I was going on the "amateur Japanese company", which is contradicted later by "07th Expansion transitioned from a dojin soft maker to a commercial organization". "Amateur Japanese company" is an oxymoron and can mean any number of things. "These are the creators of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, which (if you haven't realized) has an anime that has been adapted into English". How could I realize this? There is no mention in the article, and the speedy delete tag was for this article, not Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. The article doesn't even say what Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is. A reader shouldn't have to click on every link on an article to figure out if the topic is notable. But again, I meant no offense by it. ~ JohnnyMrNinja {talk} 02:57, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

I was under the impression that candidates for featured lists were not to be regarded as failed after ten days if there were fewer than four votes and/or points of contention were actively being address. Did this change? If not, why was the article de-listed after only ten days while comments were being address and there were fewer than four support votes and no current oppose votes? -- jackturner3 14:46, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

While I understand your rationale for delisting in terms of the number of days since the last comment, I would still bring to your attention the fact that the guidelines clearly state that a FL nomination may remain after ten days if the nomination has fewer than four votes. So, even if the oppose comments had actively been addressed, then it would have been appropriate to leave the nomination in place for a few more days. -- jackturner3 13:14, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
I can accept that. It's an honest mistake really. I'll be a few days before I relist because someone has just posted some new material to the talk page and it needs to be digested before the article goes back up for review, so I'll put a note on your page when the time comes. -- jackturner3 16:47, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Hack-Roots.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Hack-Roots.jpg.

Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 11:31, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

WPVG dispute

I say that it should be there because just because WP:VN is kind of like a sub-project connected to WP:VG, people in WP:VG do not necessarily have any interest in expanding that article through your project. Some people are only affiliated in WP:VG, and may want to improve this article. And besides, it helps to categorize games. - A Link to the Past (talk) 20:46, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

I could get behind that, I suppose. However, just to note, cvgproj really covers anything video game-related; while it does have very little gameplay, it's still considered a game. I mean, look at Xenosaga for instance! :p - A Link to the Past (talk) 20:59, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Re: Planetarian See also section

Is there a way to incorperate that little tidbit into the story perhaps, because it seems more like trivia to me.-- 17:22, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Only if the plot outline gets a lot more detailed. It is a little trivial, but I stuck it in there so that people that played the game might realize that it's an actual place. In any case, it doesn't do too much harm as a see also section does it?--SeizureDog 02:52, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

This template, the way it is using html table tags, breaks under a not-so-permissive MediaWiki environment, and may end of working on wikipedia in the future. Sorry for directly editing the tempalte, but it's not easily copyiable. i did however take care on not breaking it, and repairing when failing to fix it the first time.

I thought i left it working. When you did this reversion what was broken? Platonides 20:00, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

I was testing in a page without the demographic argument. If you noted a problem with it, can you tell me on which page was, to avoid checking all the pages which use it, until find one with that parameter? Platonides

What's your problem?

I swear, the way you're acting sounds like you specifically dislike the project. Nowhere does it suggest that you can say "this is our article, you cannot put your template there". Visual novels are video games. The project is categorized under a VG category. By that extension, the video game project has SOME interest in this article. Fair use rationale for Image:Ponpon imageIllust.jpg

Note

Out of a random chance seeking out of my edits to Lucky Star (manga), I saw that you undid an edit of mine a couple of weeks ago. "Tokusatsu" is as much a word in English usage as is "anime" (although to a lesser degree). Additionally, "Kyodain" is not translated into "Brothers" or "Siblings," as it is part of the title of the show in katakana.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 10:04, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Tokusatsu is a Japanese term that is used to describe the "live action" shows in Japanese, English, Portuguese, etc. (see the interwiki links at Tokusatsu). Not all Japanese live action is tokusatsu, unlike how all Japanese animation is anime. The purpose of linking is so the reader learns more about other subjects. Piping that link is meaningless.
For Kyodain, that is the title of the series. It is not called "Space Ironmen Brothers" but "Space Ironmen Kyodain" (you'll find more by searching for "Uchuu Tetsujin Kyodain" than you would for "Space Ironmen Brothers"). I would appreciate if you did not undo my edits, again, as I feel that
  1. Tokusatsu is as much an encyclopedic term in the English language as anime is
  2. And "Kyodain" is the proper title of the song and show.

Gadget Trial's templates

Since I saw you're pretty experienced here, and contributed quite a number of edits, instead of reverting your edit, I would discuss it here. I fail to see why Gadget Trial isn't a visual novel, like Shuffle!, or Air. True, it doesn't contain objectionable material. (Although Ever 17 or Narcissu are visual novels too, despite this.) True, it isn't only a visual novel, it has a battle-oriented parts too. However, IMHO it is (in part) a visual novel, because a large part of it is like those. Thus, the VN template is required. Many worlds/ontological

Please bear with me, since I'm not all the way through the show. (I find it troubling and rather disturbing so I'm taking it slow). I thought part of the story dealt with how the information somewhat filters through each storyline which I think falls under ontological paradox. Yeah, many worlds MAY fit better. Not that I'm gonna make a big deal about it. :P I prefer the ontological paradox in Haruhi anyways. :P Kyaa the Catlord 08:26, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Lucky Star

I totally forgot about the "Three revert rule", I apologize for that. Anyway, I'm not continuing with this anymore, if it gets reverted back to shounen or whatever, I don't care. Can't someone just lock the demographic and genre so they can't be changed? ChuChu 09:53, 9 September 2007

Ok, I see, then lets do what you said in case it gets reverted back.
As to W Wish and Final Approach, I have watched both anime (I watch any new anime thats based on a bsihoujo game, though I'm not a bishoujo gamer (not much at least LOL)). it should be obvious that any type of bishoujo game and anime based on these games are not aimed at females. The day when bishoujo games like W Wish and Final Approach start to be aimed at females is the day when something really weird has happened to japanese females. If the demographic in those two entries get reverted back to shoujo, I wouldn't mind, hopefully some japanese bishoujo gamer will see those wiki entries and giggle a little, or at least crack a little smile. ChuChu 10:33, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I also linked to that PrincessSoft site and told him that the girls side is the side of the site were the games for males are, but that didn't seem to convince him >.> and what happened after that? that discussion, as silly as it was, got deleted O.o why delete stuff from my own talk page? --ChuChu 12:01, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Sorry to interupt, but Seihin is the romanization of "製品" which means "Products". It is still not confirmed that the game is Seinen. As for the girls side, it says "通常" which means "General". So in fact, it is not confirmed that it's a seinen game.--殺人事件 | talk 22:37, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
OK, I lose. I do say I think it is pretty much of a Seinen game considering it's a 美少女 game. Can you please change the Anime News Network article then? I do personally feel that the Final Approach story-line of the Anime was "Shoujoish" though having watched them.--殺人事件 | talk 22:39, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

A few editors and I have, I believe, addressed all the concerns you mentioned. (the only thing I didn't add to was how you get from planet to planet, as it's a gaping plot hole that is never mentioned). David Fuchs (talk) 17:05, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Why was the fansite removed from Aya Hirano External Links? What constitutes "non-notable"? It has plenty of information and media that this site doesn't have and isn't that the point of external links, to give more info on the topic? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 148.61.228.58 (talk) 19:03, 12 September 2007 (UTC) --148.61.228.58 19:07, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Yuumao.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Yuumao.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information.

Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 21:24, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Light novel mergers

Hello. Remember to add {{R from merge}} to the redirects you're creating on the Haruhi light novel articles. Thanks. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 01:58, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Concerning Girls' Life and Girls' Revolution

Both light novel labels; Jam Novels and Jam Plus Novels, these are not male oriented labels. the publisher does not mention the target readership of these two labels. most likely these are general labels.

I think Girls' Life and Girls' Revolution should be left without a certain demographic mentioned. There are major male oriented light novel labels that have yuri works being published under them (like Dengeki Bunko's Strawberry Panic!), but these labels (Jam Novels and Jam Plus Novels) are not male oriented labels.

Anyway, its to your choice, I wouldn't mind both of them being mentioned having a seinen demographic, since I'm also seinen (LOL). --ChuChu 22:09, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Daybreak Image...

Kanpai! Was there a problem with my image? --Hoshi no hate 12:11, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Out of curiousity, what caused your sudden influx of attention to Orange Pocket? Not complaining of course, I'm just a bit perplex as it is not Key related (which is your normal main focus) nor has any anime adaptation (of which would cause retroactive interest in the visual novel). --SeizureDog 01:07, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Probably just bad information caused be to say that Elf made it. It's been so long since I made the article that I can't even remember what my logic was for making it in the first place. I probably made it because it's one of those few visual novels with a console port.--SeizureDog 01:45, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

FL Main page proposal

You either nominated a WP:FLC or closed such a nomination recently. As such, you are the type of editor whose opinion I am soliciting. We now have over 400 featured lists and seem to be promoting in excess of 30 per month of late (41 in August and 42 in September). When Today's featured article (TFA) started (2004-02-22), they only had about 200 featured articles and were barely promoting 20 new ones per month. I think the quality of featured lists is at least as good as the quality of featured articles was when they started appearing on the main page. Thus, I am ready to open debate on a proposal to institute a List of the Day on the main page with nominations starting November 1 2007, voting starting December 1 2007 and main page appearances starting January 1 2008. For brevity, the proposal page does not discuss the details of eventual main page content, but since the work has already been done, you should consider this proposal assuming the eventual content will resemble the current content at the featured content page. Such output would probably start at the bottom of the main page. The proposal page does not debate whether starting with weekly list main page entries would be better than daily entries. However, I suspect persons in favor of weekly lists are really voicing opinions against lists on the main page since neither TFA nor Picture of the day started as weekly endeavors, to the best of my knowledge. Right now debate seems to be among support for the current selective democratic/consensus based proposal, a selective dictatorial approach like that used at WP:TFA or a non-selective first in line/calendar approach like that used at WP:POTD. See the List of the Day proposal and comment at WP:LOTDP and its talk page.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 19:03, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Now I know why you found only 3 chapters. It's because the other 2 don't contain the title Blue Drop. Here's a list of all the stories:

2 - Blue Drop -Kowareta Tenshi- (BLUE DROP ~壊れた天使~)

3 - Kaijin (海人)

4 - Blue Drop -Tenshi no Yakusoku- (BLUE DROP ~天使の約束~)

Replaceable fair use Image:Whatafriendwehaveinjesus.ogg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Whatafriendwehaveinjesus.ogg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information.

Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Secretlondon 08:46, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:OTSU Club Music Compilation Vol.1 cover.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:OTSU Club Music Compilation Vol.1 cover.jpg.

Thank you.BetacommandBot 12:29, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Wind Fan Translation

I reverted your edits to Wind: A Breath of Heart. As best as I can tell, there's no wikipedia policy that prevents us from writing about the fact that a work has had its copyrights infringed, and I think the existance of a fan translation is worthy of mention in the article. (It may be somewhat overrepresented in that article.) — PyTom (talk) 07:44, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

I did a bit of copy-editing (refs mainly) for the above article, and I think it meets all the featured list criteria. Given that you were the original creator of the article, I thought it best you nominate it for featured list status if you wished, especially considering that I have four episode lists at WP:FLC already. Regards, Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 07:03, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

There have been a series of proposals to initiate a Featured List of the Day on the main page. Numerous proposals have been put forth. After the third one failed, I audited all WP:FL's in order to begin an experiment in my own user space that will hopefully get it going. Today, it commences at WP:LOTD. Afterwards I created my experimental page, a new proposal was set forth to do a featured list that is strikingly similar to my own which is to do a user page experimental featured list, but no format has been confirmed and mechanism set in place. I continue to be willing to do the experiment myself and with this posting it commences. Please submit any list that you would like to have considered for list of the day in the month of January 2008 by the end of this month to WP:LOTD and its subpages. You may submit multiple lists for consideration.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 17:43, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

What if I create an article about Furukawa Nagisa?

Well, I have a small intention of creating an article about Furukawa Nagisa, which will tell the plot about Nagisa and After Story, as inspired by the article of Ayu Tsukimiya.

I was wondering, is it relevant or not? And if I create it, will it get deleted?

Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 16:29, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

You do realize that the article may fail if there is no development information, right?-- 00:43, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Depends entirely on who reviews it. For example, Shuffle! and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time managed GA status without a "Development" section. Besides, I'd be seriously surprised if any development information is out there for a handheld game based off of a licensed children's property. It doesn't get much more under the radar than that (unless it's also a Japanese-exclusive :P). In any case, no harm in nominating.--SeizureDog (talk) 12:51, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
I've noticed that you're running out of Key articles to make GA. What next after Moon.? Dōsei?
Personally, I'd love to be able to fix up our genre articles (Visual novel, Dating sim, Bishōjo game, etc), as they're still a mess of contridiction and confusion. This really a big issue that we still need to figure out how to with, since Wikipedia is propably the first place curious otaku look to research the matter. Just being able to source the basic definition of the genres is a goal enough. I think Dating sim is probably the worst case here. I still don't know of a single game, aside from Tokimeki Memorial, that I can say for sure is a dating sim.--SeizureDog (talk) 12:51, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Anyways, I also felt like bringing up that I happened to have a friend over today with whom I had a lengthy, nerdy discussion with. Long story short, a lot of the conversation ended up on the topic of visual novels. It was interesting, as we both remarked how visual novels are probably the second-most otaku subject an English otaku can be into (the first being light novels, since you virtually have to know Japanese to get any enjoyment out of them, though that's changing as light novels are finally getting licensed). So I figured I'd give you another nod of support since you're 80% of the reason Wikipedia is a half-decent source for visual novel information. Thanks for still working on all this junk ;)--SeizureDog (talk) 12:51, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Right you are

I believe the line "Hantsuki has spanned a range of different media types, first starting out as a novel series which was later adapted into an anime. After that, a manga series began and finally a drama CD was released." was what made me disregard the guideline. Without it, it looks much more sane. --SaberExcalibur! 13:25, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

I'm impressed. I merely wanted to improve the rather poor state the article was in a bit, since the series deserved something better, but you brought it way beyond that. Who'd expect anything less from the Juhachi. The DVD box will be out in January [4]. --SaberExcalibur! 14:00, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Clannad

Stop being an ass and deleting others' work. Are you butthurt by the spoilers and decided to remove someone's effort of typing in everything? You do not own Wikipedia, and neither does it help your e-peen to remove the characters' plot with your short summary. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.6.87.49 (talk) 06:46, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Hello. Some comments at the article's featured list nomination deal with the plot of the episodes, and I unfortunately have not watched the episodes of this particular series. Given that you created the article, could you address the complaints raised? He left in-line comments as to confusing plot points. Thanks, Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 05:59, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks =) Much appreciated. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 07:05, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

In your edit summary, you wrote "Then expand if you must, but featured anything cannot have one sentence paragraphs." Um? It was a two sentence paragraph. —Quasirandom (speak) 04:19, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Juhachi, when you have time, can you check out the Tenjho Tenge article to see if you can find any problems. I want to work them out before the article gets nominated for GA status. Thanks (Duane543 (talk) 05:31, 31 December 2007 (UTC))
