Hi there JOÃO, VASCO here,
first of all, my congratulations in improving this footballer's article. I made a very minor edit in it (please check the edit history for more details in summary). A favour (related) now: could you please, in the chart of statistics, include B club of Mallorca? He did play one full season for them.
Thanks very much in advance, regards - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 05:21, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
Zombies lurking...
Hi there JOAO, VASCO here,
thanks a lot for your tip, i tracked him (by chance) at Baba Sule, he made about 100 edits in a few hours, in another of his "specialities", African football. I don't think it's worth anything to track him, since he probably has a dynamic IP address (you found two, i got another).
One thing you can be sure of, i found his edits, i revert them, period! He has to talk to people, if he can't (he knows ZERO English, but he knows how to talk, i presume) he can get someone to get his ideas across to the community for him. Until then, he's not welcome, at least that's my humble opinion...
Later, happy weekend from Portugal - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 20:16, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

I noticed that you reworded the intro to say "French player of Algerian descent" as opposed to "French-Algerian" because there is no proof that he holds citizenship. However, the article referenced states that he wants to play for Algeria so that should be enough to say that he's French-Algerian. I won't revert it back just yet but I do think you should re-consider your edit. TonyStarks (talk) 07:05, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
In the article it says she's of Reunion descent .. source ? Looking at her name I'd guess she's from either Algeria or Morocco .. more likely the first. TonyStarks (talk) 04:57, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- Yep I agree. TonyStarks (talk) 05:28, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
GAN push?
How do you feel about a GAN collaboration on Eden Hazard and Hugo Lloris/Andre Pierre Gignac? I think ice hockey and baseball are winning too much up there Spiderone 09:26, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
- A picture need not hinder Hazard's GA bid. It's only an absolute requirement if FA is aimed for. In David Wetherall, what I did was include a picture of someone who is mentioned in the article. So in Hazard's case, a pic of someone like Zidane could be used if need be Spiderone 12:45, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

Ethnicity in the opening
Wikipedia does not want ethnicity in the opening. It can be mentioned later in the article, but as for the opening, only the person's citizenship can be mentioned. Check out any article for a famous actor, for example, Nicolas Cage and Al Pacino. They are not American actors "of Italian descent", they're simply an American actor. Likewise, Scarlett Johansson is simply an American actress. Her Danish and Ashkenazi Jewish descent are not mentioned in the opening. I've noticed a tendency for French footballer articles to mention ethnicity in the opening however, this contravenes Wikipedia policies. If you doubt me, add "of Italian descent" to the opening statement of Nicolas Cage's article and see how long it lasts before it's deleted. 173.206.46.215 (talk) 07:40, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- I concur with this IP. I've also noticed that virtually every French footballer has his ethnic origins mentioned in the first sentence of his article! RonaldMerchant (talk) 19:56, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
Is this player notable? The highest level he's played at is the Championnat National which is amateur for the most part. Or is it because he's played in the Cup? TonyStarks (talk) 11:04, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi there JOÃO, VASCO from Portugal here,
regarding this simple request you made to a Bulgarian user (see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:78.128.117.121), i think i see the pattern...either he knows how to read his messages, understands them and just does not care (his English could also be very poor) or he still has not noticed the "you have a new message" stuff in his computer.
Either way, he continues to italicize players after your request(s), now in Rio Ave F.C.. Attentively, keep up the good work - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 16:51, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Added template for SuggestBot
Hi,
Thanks for being one of SuggestBot's users! I hope you have found the bot's suggestions useful.
We are in the process of switching from our previous list-based signup process to using templates and userboxes, and I have therefore added the appropriate template to your user talk page. You should receive the first set of suggestions within a day, and since we'll be automating SuggestBot you will from then on continue to receive them regularly at the desired frequency.
We now also have a userbox that you can use to let others know you're using SuggestBot, and if you don't want to clutter your user talk page the bot can post to a sub-page in your userspace. More information about the userbox and usage of the template is available on User:SuggestBot/Getting Recommendations Regularly.
If there are any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me on my user talk page. Thanks again, Nettrom (talk) 16:35, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

Hey, just saw the edits you made to the Ziri Hammar article. I know he's born in Akbou but I have never been able to find a source to the original article where I read it .. so just wanted to know where you found it? Also, I believe Madinat Bejaia refers to JSM Béjaïa but I'm not sure that he played for them (since he grew up in the Paris region before joining Nancy). TonyStarks (talk) 02:24, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the prompt reply. Looking at the links, you might be right about him playing for Bejaia, and I recognize the writing style as that of Le Buteur, so I'm more inclined to believe it. In any case, thanks for your edits on the article, I appreciate it. TonyStarks (talk) 03:28, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Link to league season MoS, some notes
As the link in the most recent edit summary of 2010–11 Ligue 1 pointing to the league season MoS was broken: Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/League season. Usually, any names should be sorted by alphabetical order of surnames (or, in case of Spanish/Portuguese/Brazilian/etc. players, their nicknames); however, the MoS somehow has forgotten to mention this... oh well. Might keep the original order from the source as well, then.
In any case, please make sure that the infobox is correctly formatted to avoid any WP:OR/WP:SYN issues... If there are dates for individual matches, these should be cited by a reliable source. Further, any streaks or attendance records need a reference to a source similar to this one attached. ごきげんよう!^_^ --Soccer-holicI hear voices in my head... 17:29, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

David Luiz - Reply
Hi there JOAO, VASCO from Portugal here,
Thanks a million for your help in this player's article (that won't stop the vandals from operating and/or the folks who wrongly think he plays RB, however). However, to what do i attribute your reaction of "i know you will come and change everything in a matter of minutes"?! I think your edit was 100% fine, and i guess that remark shows somewhat of a negative reaction towards my work here, i think i have always respected yours. Regarding the insults towards the vandals (and by that i don't mean the right-back stuff, i mean the idiocies that were written at the bottom of CLUB CAREER), expect for more when more is due, i am sorry i can't stop "feeding" them...Does that make me their equal in reverse? That's not for me to judge.
Still in the same "page": yes i think 3 refs are too much, but i won't remove any (speaking of which, in Antoine Griezmann, you wrote FIFA's full name everytime in refs when just the acronym suffices, i reverted it for compression purposes, also removing the overlinking (once suffices), you re-reverted me without one word). To finish the D.Luiz "diaries", i'll say that yes you are correct, i should have gone through the trouble of finding the refs instead of yelling.
Visiting your talk page (i have seen it in others too), i wonder, since i edit 99,999999% on soccer, what does a guy have to do to have some BOTsuggestions on articles? Really odd, haven't got a single one. Attentively, keep up the good work - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 23:16, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for your quick reply mate, and again thanks on David Luiz! Point by point: 1 - i never said that people wrote "he is a right back" are vandals, i only said that it was wrong (and you say people had every right to insert wrong stuff?!). But people who write "he has a song written about him, as Gianfranco Zola" - lyrics included! - are vandalizing, even do they are not primarily intending on that (some DEFINITELY are) and, those deserve no respect from people who are trying to improve on the site (or at least they should not). No João, i am not playing the victim, it's as easy as turning off the computer and not editing, i just happen to be overzealous with my work, besides other personal problems that i am not going to address now and here; 2 - regarding Griezmann (by the way great season by the youngster!), maybe i did not express myself correctly but, anyways, i have not edited there in months, so it's OK with me; 3 - thanks for the SUGGESTBOT clearing up, indeed.
Happy editing, later - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 00:16, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
- As always, a pleasure talking to you man, clear, polite and to the point! Just to wrap this discussion off: 1 - yep, i should have learned the lesson by now, after all the civility messages, but i just can't stop losing it when in face of vandalism (nothing to do with the D.Luiz stuff, that is clearly NOT), clearly a situation that stems from my personality issues/problems; 2 - i still do not concur with you about the playing position approach (for instance, he NEVER played RB at Benfica, you can take my word for it), an emergence is that my friend, an emergence.
Later, from Portugal - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 11:20, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
- Sigh...although i know shouting solves nothing (i have just returned from a 24hr-block, for disruptive summaries - it was fair, in light of WP guidelines), here is the respect they have for references (please see here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=David_Luiz&diff=423818337&oldid=423182372), he is a "right back" then...
Attentively, have a nice weekend - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 14:34, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

rlfoot
I must show you some examples, because I see that you still don't see how rlfoot misleds with these "ghost" stats. You think that they add just unofficial apps, but no they create number of apps in this stupid way based on call-ups: ex. Player was called on the tourmament, France played 5 games on this tourment, rlfoot calculate 5 apps for this player and for every player that was called on this tournament. So everybody has got 5 apps, even reserve goalie, all players. Practical example: Karim Benzema, he was called twice to U-17 (they called it U-16), first for two friendlies and second for U-17 UEFA Championship. On U-17 Championship France played 5 matches. 5+2=7, now we look on rlfoot and Benzema has got 7 apps there. Now go to the UEFA website and you will se that Benzema played only 2 games U-17 Championship. But on rlfoot he don't get 2 apps but 5 apps. And every player on this tournament get 5 apps on rlfoot, even if played less games. Now you get it?
Easy was to see how rubbish are rfloot stats is to look at the goalies record: COSTIL 18 apps, RIOU 16 apps, they must make a sub in almost every game, that's impossbile. You can easly multiply examples like this. Rfloot website is a big mess, I hope that now you understand this.--Oleola (talk) 22:12, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
- Ok, but for Cabaye you got caps from there... Anyway some newer U-21 and U-20 sections on rlfoot seems to be correct because lineups from games are universally available. But most U20, U18, U17... sections contains mislead rubbish stats counted with his stupid way.
- I've all France lineups from Toulon 2006, so this is the source of my Cabaye's edit. I always check lineups to determine youth NT caps.--Oleola (talk) 23:15, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
- The point is that you can't assume that player likely played in some games if match reports are not available. I's wrong! If you did the same in other biographies I hope that you'll fix this.
- About lineups, I'm football statistician so I've got many match reports.--Oleola (talk) 13:52, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Inappropriate behavior regarding the Samir Nasri article
Perhaps you should pay more careful attention. It was precisely my intention to remove content from that article, which is a BLP. By strong consensus and by policy, such biographies must be written responsibly and should be very well-sourced. Claiming that a personal relationship is "current," in 2011, based on a 2008 news report, is certainly not responsible and represents bad sourcing. Most such claims, in Wikipedia biographies, represent claims that were current when added to the article, but have been left untended for long periods of time. I note that you added this terribly-sourced, not-BLP-compliant claim to the article barely two months ago, when it was clear that a three-year-old source was not appropriate to support a claim described as "current." Rather than rudely and inaccurately defending your substandard editing, making snide edit comments, and posting borderline-insulting templates on the talk page of the editor who corrected your error, it would have been more appropriate to express thanks for cleaning up after you, or regrets for your inappropriate edit. Instead, you chose to gratuitously make rather insulting comments toward me in two edit summaries, as well inappropriately templating my talk page. Many editors would quite reasonably question your good faith in behaving like that, concerned that you were simply trying to embarass an editor you disagreed with, or, more severely judge your behavior to be borderline trolling. I'm not a big believer in WP:DTTR, but your actions today certainly were unacceptable. I notice that it took you less than two minutes, once you had finished posting abusive commentary, to find and cite an appropriate source for the claim. If you had taken the trouble to do so a few weeks back, we could all have been spared this nonsense. Hullaballoo Wolfowitz (talk) 00:30, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
- Why someone would think, in the context of celebrity gossip, that 2008 is "current" escapes me; you've certainly made no attempt to explain it. The claim you made was obviously not supported by the citation you gave for it. The claim has negligible encyclopedic value, and when you add something like that to an article without proper sourcing, it should be removed. If we're going to allow 2008 sourcing as "current," then George W. Bush is verifiably the current President of the US, Osama bin Laden is currently alive, etc. Don't whine about how people treat your errors when it would have taken less time to get it right than it does to whine about it afterwards. Hi there JOÃO, VASCO here,
first, i reverted you in this player's defaultsort, then i reverted myself. But it's really really confusing: if he is known as YAGO, why should people look for him under FERNANDEZ? Most people, even folks who know him as a player, don't even know he has FERNANDEZ/PRIETO in his name. Makes zero sense from where i come from but, as i don't make the rules...
I am going to have a look at the link you sent me, sorry for any incovenience. Salut - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 14:32, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
- Plus, i have started a discussion at WP:FOOTY, please join in and "drop a line" if you like. - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 22:43, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
- I see you dropped your input there, thanks. Lest there is any confusion on your part: i now see that my input is not all that well written (the English good, but not its display), so it looked like i accused you of reverting me TWICE. Not true, what i meant was i was reverted twice, you only did it ONCE.
Sorry for any incovenience, later! - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 13:18, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi there JOAO, VASCO here,
again, maybe my summary was exaggerated, but i did provide some logic in it: i have monitored this article every since i started editing WP on a regular basis (more than four years ago), it NEVER had a tag. I add the first reference, the tag appears? Very very odd...
I have added two more, do you think it's ok to remove the tag or not yet? Salut, happy weekend - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 20:28, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks very much for your assistance! However, i "have a problem" (almost a medical condition :)) with refs that stem from links man, i think that LINKS should be just: 1 - official club profile; 2 - statistics and related stuff, and should not be used as references. So, i took the liberty of replacing the refs from ZEROZERO with what i feel are proper references: 1 - newspaper articles, official club releases; 2 - when i could not find any of those, just a different ref (as in WWW.RSSSF.COM), i hope you do not take offense, i have the utmost respect for your work, would have done that to any other user. The only ref i removed and did not replace was the 3–2 win at Sporting, it's well explained in the PortuGOAL.net article ("...Manuel Machado’s team produced a sensational late comeback, turning a two-goal deficit into a 3-2 win, thanks largely to one man – Tiago Targino", and "Coming off the bench, two quick-fire goals in two minutes got Vitoria right back into the match"), but you did well to double the ref to source his serious injury.
However, why did you say, in one of your summaries "i'll await your "arrangements""? With the quotation marks, the arrangements remark seems rather negative...
Thanks again, happy weekend - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 16:44, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Zacharie Boucher
A tag has been placed on Zacharie Boucher, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. JSRant Away 02:33, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

2011-2012 Ligue 1 stadia and location
Why Lille and Nancy's location are Villeneuve d'Ascq and Tomblaine? I think you have to write the team's city like in Premier League and not the location of stadia. Sorry for my bad english but I'm italian. Waiting for an answer. Thanks for your attention.
But why don't you add a column with the city where the teams are based? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.54.76.180 (talk) 02:17, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

Francis Coquelin / France national under-20 football team
Fourth place is a recognised FIFA honour because on the official FIFA U-20 World Cup website, fourth place is listed under the same 'Awards' section as the: winner, runner up and third place teams of the tournament. As well as 'Golden Ball', 'Golden Boot', 'Fair Play award' and 'Golden Glove'. Taking away the fourth place award is essentially like taking away the award for winning the tournament or being the top goalscorer.
http://www.fifa.com/u20worldcup/awards/index.html
if the members of the France national under-20 football team aren't allowed to include fourth place under their international honours, why are members of the Uruguay team allowed to include their fourth place finish from the 2010 FIFA World Cup?

Hi there JOAO, VASCO here,
is this a new trend (the trend being "Let's all mock Vasco", User:Kevin McE and User:Omgosh30 have done it in the past - and you in Tiago Targino - and it's really upsetting me)? If it is, it's beginning to lose its poignancy, when i used "minor tidyups" in my summary, i meant it without sarcasm, what's a tidyup to me may not be to you and vice-versa, i did not mean to belittle your work. I am slowly trying to heal myself in what my WP edit summary behaviour is concerned - made some stupid errors i admit it - this attitude is not helping i guarantee you.
Continuing with Turan's article: so why do you pipe all the clubs' names - per some WP guideline i do not know of - except S.C. Beira-Mar and Sporting Clube de Portugal? That's not coherent, at least i left them all unpiped. Speaking of improvements, i replaced ZEROZERO link with its English version, i think it was OK by me this being EN.WIKI and all. Regarding Coupe de la Ligue, i tried to have two links instead of one (wikilink of competition and wikilink of season of competition - 2010/11 CDLL), you did not allow it. OK, rest assured, i'll leave his article alone.
Attentively - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 20:56, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the swift and polite reply. I admit i made a mistake in writing he was born from Turkish parents without knowing it, just a - ill-advised - hint. You don't have to "be afraid" to contribute to an article because of me, what on earth is this? WP is not mine. Also, my work is often unsourced? OK, i'll try to improve on that.
Before we close this case, can you at least comment on the Coupe de la Ligue stuff i asked you about? Thank you. --Vasco Amaral (talk) 21:27, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- 1 - you got it mixed up man, you said you were hesitant on improving the article because you knew i was going to come and talk to you, i did not say you should avoid editing articles i do. If it's too much "pressure" interacting with me, i don't mind if you don't reply to me when i message you, if it's what you prefer...
- 2 - yes i was, for lack of a better word, insulted - the "citation needed" tag was like Babone was saying "prove you were trying to be humourous instead of detrimental" - by i should have not "ran off and cried" to another user, again you are correct (in the last part that is). Also, in case it is only a joke, i have already apologized to Babone. Thanks for the help - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 21:48, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- No, now YOU're the one who's wrong, i meant "pressure" as in what you said about being "hesitant to improve the article because i knew you'd reply" - YOUR words not MINE - not "pressure" as in "look at me i'm so important, people faint at the slightest mention of me". Happy weekend and whistle if you need help on any article (i doubt you will). --Vasco Amaral (talk) 22:05, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
Franck Ribéry statistics
I have no idea why you would rather have an inferior statistics table. Assists don't need to be there and it's more detailed, looks more consistent with other players' statistic table, it looks extremely similar to the player stats template and you get to keep your club totals. Also, why would you add an "Other" column when only 1 of the many cup competitions listed for that column is applicable? Kingjeff (talk) 03:09, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
You reverting my edit is scandalous. I'm retiring over this. Kingjeff (talk) 04:35, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
Kingjeff
Hi, I don't know Kingjeff that well to answer your question. We've talked sometimes in the past and he seemed to me a friendly and sensible guy who did not tend to rash actions. I'm also baffled that he wants to retire (has retired?) because of this disagreement on Franck Ribéry, but he seems to be serious (as he got his userpage deleted). --Jaellee (talk) 14:29, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

Hey Joao, I was just looking at the edit history of the Coupe de la Ligue article and saw that you edited a bit and I know that you're very familiar with French football. So, I was just wondering if you could add entry details to the competition page, ie. add who is eligible to play in the competition. If I'm not mistaken the competition is open to all teams playing in Ligue 1 + Ligue 2 .. but the infobox says 44 teams participate in it, so I'm guessing some of the pro teams that are playing in the Championnat National are also eligible? I tried quick search on Google but couldn't find anything. Thanks. TonyStarks (talk) 04:47, 27 October 2011 (UTC)

Provinces in players' articles
Hi there JOAO, VASCO here,
i am not sure of the percentage of English players that have the province or borough where they were born mentioned in their pages, but it's a high one (usually, it's written in the infobox, but i relocate the stuff from the box to intro for compression). However, you say i am wrong in inserting it in, for example, Hassan Yebda or Abdelaziz Barrada, why might i ask? Don't worry, i have respected your reversions and have not re-inserted it in either.
Ah, and please don't think that English players stuff is a creation of mine, i have nothing to do with that, i have made 5,10 edits in English footballers in FIVE years. Attentively - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 15:57, 9 November 2011 (UTC)
- Only wanted to know your opinion other than the "commune's enough" in summaries, but no reply, as expected. Here you have two examples to see what i am talking about: Wes Brown and Kevin Davies. But, as i already said, i won't reinsert it in Barrada and Yebda, just to let you know i wasn't doing anything not WIKI-compliant. --Vasco Amaral (talk) 19:38, 10 November 2011 (UTC)

Hi there JOAO, VASCO here,
article was in a sorry state before i stepped in (please see here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bertrand_Laquait&diff=453735286&oldid=450739203), i admit i added no REFS (some links i did). Was that enough to grant another mocking from you? I see it was, maybe it was better to leave the piece as it was just because i did not add any sources (i admit i could have done as you and look for them)...And please don't patronize me as you have done often saying "Me, mocking you? No way! You're seeing things", please. This last summary ("shortcomings" is a word people can see i use a lot in my summaries, just checking my edit list) is one of MANY you have directed towards me.
I said in my last summary there (and i repeat it here) "thanks for the references", maybe you can say "thanks for improving storyline" instead of this behaviour (i could point more than 10 summaries in which you clearly are belittling my efforts - YES, i have used several very aggressive summaries towards vandals and the sorts, i'd be an idiot to deny it, but with YOU? I have not!).
Attentively - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 01:10, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- No reply (again), even though this case is one of a potential misunderstanding you say "talk to the hand", okeydokey. Since i'm not as idiot and belligerant as you seem to think i am, i PROMISE this is my last message to you, don't want to bother or impose. Before leaving though, i'll duly rephrase myself: if you are not mocking me and i am 100 wrong%, making a fool of myself with my messages to you, then don't stop "mocking" me, just STOP referring to me or my actions in your summaries, unless i have done it first (in Laquait's case, i go and improve the article - you improved it even further, i think it was a really good teamwork - and seem to get reprimanded for it ("Amazing!", etc); that will stop any misunderstanding OK?
Keep up the good work, bye - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 12:47, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi there JOAO, VASCO here,
i break my rule (of never again bothering you) but to help, not to annoy (as you see it, not me, i NEVER wanted to annoy you, you're free to not believe it of course). No need to say the player is known as "Adrien Silva", player is known as "Silva", period (and since it's his last name, no need for the "known as" bit overall). We have this idiotic custom in Portugal that states that ALL the players must have two names, even with nicknames (i.e. Pedro Pauleta, Pedro Mantorras, Nuno Capucho, etc), and i'm Portuguese so i know what i'm talking about; additionally, it would be like saying that Luís Figo is known as such when he is known as "Figo" only.
However, don't worry, it's just a tip to help you in your work, i won't edit in Silva's article again even though i edit there massively being him a player from my country (but somewhat from yours as well).
Attentively, happy 2012 - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 18:38, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
- Due to your lack of response, i have taken my query to WP:FOOTY (please see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football#Portuguese_footballers.27_names_.2F_Introductions), please "drop" your opinion there if you like; you have been mentioned there by me but just because of precisely that, your refusal to engage in conversation with me (hence my doubts remained), i was not disrespectful i think - if i was i apologize. --Vasco Amaral (talk) 21:29, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

Ben Arfa
sorry to burst your bubble! but doesn't the documentary made by M6 state that both parents are of Tunisian origin?[1] (or is the journalist wrong?)..Next time don't base your information on one source, as there's a lot of bogus information online! This information was confirmed with the man himself! okay! Wbel (talk) 23:28, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
- I think you missed a sentence La vie a suivi son cours. Un divorce, un remariage sur Paris et l'arrivée d'Hatem.[2]. Hatem was not the first child of Kamel! Like I said in my previous post, the information was confirmed with the man himself! have you seen the documentary? Ben Arfa's mother is featured in the documentary too.[3] I don't think we are going to agree, so its best to leave his mother out of the article. Wbel (talk) 19:33, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

You are awesome! You make articles about French footballers soooo much better than any other country, the FFF should be paying you! Perhaps you might make an exception to your France-only rule and improve the Clarence Seedorf article, which sucks and doesn't do justice to a great player! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.4.236.160 (talk) 17:33, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

First of all, I think that showing which teams are still in contention adds more information to the average French soccer fan. The article for 2012 FIFA Club World Cup has teams that are listed in contention. One thing that needs to not change is the "two-lined" venue. Thank you and have a nice weekend. - Look at the differences between your edits. Your first and your second. What's the difference? I seem to eye a source in the second to back up your statement unlike the first, so I suggest you re-read (or maybe read for the first time) Wikipedia rules You added un-sourced information, so I rightfully reverted you. You have now added that same information with sources to back it up per WP rules. Maybe you can start taking up the latter option from now on. — JSRant Away 16:10, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
- Lack of source isn't Wikipedia:Vandalism. Assume good faith dude. You can simply revert and in the summary said lack of source OR tag the sentence with Template:Fact. Matthew_hk tc 16:15, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

Moved a page
Hello Joao.
You created Template:France Squad 2012 Summer Olympics, which Mattythewhite moved to Template:France women's squad 2012 Summer Olympics.
I then moved it to Template:France women's football squad 2012 Summer Olympics, as I think which sport it refers to is relevant ... ;-)
After all, France has both a men's and a women's basketball team, and both a men's and a women's handball team, in the 2012 Games.
Cheers.

Hi there JOAO, longtime no "see",
even if you choose not to reply again i'm OK, at least i'll "get this off my chest", lest you read the summary i made in this player's article and misunderstand thinking it was a personal attack (still nothing like what you directed at me at Bertrand Laquait after i improved storyline).
Why is it a biased statement to say S.L. Benfica, F.C. Porto, Sporting Clube de Portugal, C.S. Marítimo and C.D. Nacional don't give a crap about Portuguese players (with other words of course - i.e "deemed surplus to requirements")? It's the truth, if you don't think so browse through ZEROZERO.PT (has an English and French version as well, but to see the countries of the players it's irrelevant, there are flags attached to the names) or FORADEJOGO.NET to see what it's like: Porto has 3 Portuguese players in the roster (in the roster, not in the starting XI), Benfica has 4 or 5, Sporting tending to do the same, etc, etc.
Marítimo, in its UEFA Europa League match today, fielded TWO national players, last season in 30 games it NEVER fielded more than three and i think it was in just one or two games. Not normal by any means if you mention the 10 biggest leagues in Europe, i don't know what happens in Cyprus or Malta or Sweden all that well, better said i now nothing other than the teams that play in European competition like APOEL FC.
Getting long this message now, i better stop, i was just trying to justify my reaction after i reverted you (then reverted myself immediately after after i saw i maybe was in the wrong approach, so your version is the current one), but honestly i don't think i was being biased as you said.
If you don't want to comment on the above, then at least please help me with this (because i see you keep getting those messages): i signed up like you said to receive suggestions on edits to improve/cleanup/etc by SUGGESTBOT, but received only one "briefing", and it's almost an year gone now, never received another, any ideas why?
Attentively, happy weekend - --AL (talk) 23:35, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
- For the third or fourth time i come to you to discuss technicalities (bias vs. "unbias", last time is was about the provinces/regions/states being mentioned in the birthplace of players) and ask for help (the SuggestBot thing, i really don't know why the messages stopped after i only received one) and am met with nothing but silence? You have every right to do so if you choose of course, and i think my summary at Salomão was a bit hysterical, but in no way insulting, so i don't think i have to apologize this time; under my new name, i have really improved in the summary department (not counting with my slip in Salomão of course), the only thing i still don't have is tolerance for vandalism, that's why i prefer to use rollback, that way i don't have to write anything.
Now i mean it, i said last year i would stop sending you messages because your silence told everything, but now i broke my promise because i 1 - felt bad about my edits in Salomão; 2 - wanted some help, OK then... Final words: João Siamun - "Stop bothering me". AL - "OK. Goodbye and good luck". --AL (talk) 20:17, 4 August 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:RC France.gif
Thanks for uploading File:RC France.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Malpass93! (what I've been up to/drop me a ___) 15:05, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
(Reverted good faith edits by Prince tpb (talk): Move has not been confirmed. (TW))(M'Baye Niang) It was confirmed by Adriano Galliani (Vice Executive President and C.E.O) (it was in the sources in italian) that is why I changed his current club to Ac Milan.--Prince tpb (talk) 15:10, 28 August 2012 (UTC)

The article Vidian Valerius has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Fails WP:NFOOTY and WP:GNG. Guadeloupe's matches are not FIFA sanctioned, therefore he fails NFOOTY part 1, and he has not played in a professional competition with his club sides so he also fails NFOOTY part 2.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. BigDom (talk) 08:06, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for September 4
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited France national under-20 football team, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Pierre Vidal (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
