Stats
[edit]- See 90minut archives and stop doing mess, it's verifed
Where exactly? His stats are only provided for 2005-06 and later seasons. If the information is available somewhere deep in the archives, you should provide a direct link to make it easier to verify.209.183.7.166 (talk) 02:07, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit]stop removing sourced writing like the one for Brazil. he played for Brazil and was called up, it is proven by source.
Wisła Kraków
[edit]I'd like to point out why I made the changes I did to Wisła Kraków - From Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Clubs
Per consensus on WT:WPF players who have played international games should not be bolded. This is for several reasons.
1. For teams such as FC Barcelona almost every player will be bolded. 2. Playing at an international level means different things for different countries. To play at an international level for France/Brazil is on a different scale to say the Faroe Islands or Samoa. 3. Bolding makes no distinction between the number of caps. 4. If the fact that they have played for the national team is notable, then it will be listed on their individual and national team articles. 5. The current squad lists are discussing what they have done for their club and not what they have done for their country.
Hope that clears things up. Dancarney (talk) 13:26, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Michal Czekaj and Filip Kurto
[edit]These players may not meet notability guidelines. You need to provide sources proving that they have played for their club in at least one fully professional match or at senior international level for Poland. Simply playing in Wisla's youth team or Poland junior teams is not enough. Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/NotabilityVsope (talk) 15:16, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

The article Artur Łaciak has been proposed for deletion. The proposed-deletion notice added to the article should explain why.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.221.240.201 (talk) 08:24, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give "Piłka nożna" magazine plebiscite a different title by copying its content and pasting it into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 04:51, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
- Please discuss your proposed move at Talk:Polish Footballer of the Year before you try to move it again. Changing the name of an article requires consensus. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 04:57, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
- Where is the discussion between two or more editors? Where did you reach consensus? This looks like an attempt to enforce your point of view. Please undo your changes to the two articles, and if you try this again I will block you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 18:58, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
Hi there OLEOLA, VASCO from Portugal here,
regarding my edits in this player, i see that they have been classified by you as VANDALISM (?!!?!?). For what reason? I only tried to improve the article's display, and thought that season-by-season REFS was a little too much, given that we already had two EXT.LINKS with that info. Besides, i always thought REFS should be articles in newspapers, announcements from official sources (UEFA, FIFA, club websites), not sites with only stats.
You reinstated it, i will leave it be, i respect your work. Perhaps you could do the same by not calling me what i am not (i am one of the biggest vandal-haters in this site, and fight them with all my heart!)...
Continue the good work (i hope with no verbal injustices),

Request
[edit]Hi there OLEOLA, VASCO here,
i know you will not answer, you never answer to me, but that's OK, just hear this simple message: Kalu Uche in not a pure STRIKER, and not a WINGER too. He plays as a FORWARD, and sometimes is put to use behind the STRIKER (to my surprise, as i see many Almería games, and he is not a player skilled enough for that position). Almería sometimes play without a pure STRIKER, and two open wingers, Albert Crusat and Pablo Piatti.
You don't want to answer the message, OK, but please respect other people's work and don't revert my changes.
Take care, from Portugal - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 02:50, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for the REF my friend, it was good. However, there is one problem (and not small): i read the article 10 times, and did not see the word "WINGER" one time - i saw CENTRAL and ATTACKING MIDFIELDER, STRIKER (which he is not!), SECOND STRIKER, but not WINGER. I think we should change the second position to ATT.MIDFIELDER, it covers the other four more or less.
Uche has been playing for five seasons at Almería, and he has NEVER played as a winger, i think ATT.MIDFIELDER is more accurate OLEOLA. Don't worry, i will improve INTRO to make it more understandable.
Regards, keep up the good work, VASCO - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 14:25, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- I apologize for my mistakes in Kalu Uche again, i will not revert it again. However, i still think that B-teams do not buy players, the main team buys then moves them to the reserves. Also, since you edit many times here, please pay attention to a guy that has been making the link of his player position wrong, several times, in BOX: it's MIDFIELDER, he changes it to MIDFIELDER (ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL), reverted him now.
Have a nice weekend, sorry again - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 18:42, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Sorry, a forum does not constitute a reliable source, if there is conflicting information then we go with what the most reliable sources indicate, such as the official FIFA player profile page. Camw (talk) 23:16, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
- One of the key principles here is verifiability not "truth" - we must be able to verify that information in articles and presented by sources is correct. A post on a forum cannot be verified as coming from the player, furthermore, even if it could, the player himself is a primary source and the reliable source guidelines say that "Wikipedia articles should be based mainly on reliable secondary sources." - such as the FIFA profile and the majority of newspaper articles I've seen. I'm not censoring anything, I am making sure the article confirms to the guidelines of the project. Camw (talk) 23:32, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Well, I used the French Football Federation's [site, UEFA's archive site, and sometimes the contesting federation's site if they had archival results. As you stated, on the FFF site, they didn't post lineups for the campaign, but they did post player interviews such as this one and this one where the players discuss their appearances. It's been awhile, so I'll check around to look for reports that list lineups. Later and good luck. — Joao10Siamun (talk) 17:51, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi Oleola. I noteced your edit at that article. I am wandering if you read the source you removed? I know we had problems with Zombie, but that edit actually seemed correct. It is a Malien source about their own player, and the info was right. The problem is that not all Zombies edits are wrong, so we need to be carefull. Another problem is that most European sites mix the info about Mohamed Kalilou Traoré and Mohamed Traoré, so most websites are actually wrong about the number of Mali caps for him. FkpCascais (talk) 23:10, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
- The U21 was the only subject I wasn´t thinking of... Did you checked the source you deleted, and do you understand French? FkpCascais (talk) 02:58, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
- What´s the big deal? Well, lets see, you removed a valid source (not high quality, but valid), you removed info about his first club (Korofina, well mentioned in that article), you did corrected that he didn´t played for U21 but the source does say he played for the Malien junior national team, and you most probably added wrongly 3 caps for Mali, because I have been following him and I am most certain he didn´t had more than 2 (even possibly only 1) as other sources say, because I already told you that most European sources just confuse him with the other player.
- So basically happend something I was most affraid off, and that is that people automatically reverting Zombie without checking end up removing good info. FkpCascais (talk) 02:03, 24 April 2011 (UTC)

Unlike many other WikiProjects, we are quite active; in this year alone about 40 threads have been started on our discussion page, and we do a pretty good job at answering all issues raised. In addition to a lively encyclopedic, Poland-related, English-language discussion forum, we have numerous useful tools that can be of use to you - and that you could help us maintain and develop:
This is not all; on our page you can find a list of useful templates (including userboxes), awards and other tools! With all that said, how about you join our discussions at WT:POLAND? Surely, there must be something you could help others with, or perhaps you are in need of assistance yourself? rlfoot
[edit]You are already telling me something I already know. I don't use rlfoot to get caps, I use it for certain match reports it provides that the FFF site doesn't, see here for example with the first two matches listed being the particular ones I was interested in. In April 2011, you posted Cabaye's Toulon Tournament stats. Your source for where you got this info would be greatly appreciate in the prose. rlfoot.fr has the stats, but given that France played five matches in the competition and Cabaye was called up for all the matches, shouldn't his stats say five. I'm not arguing rlfoot's reliability, my point is, while it has its negatives, it still has its benefits. — JSRant Away 22:23, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
- I didn't really get the gist of your second message. For the second time, I don't get my caps from rlfoot. rlfoot says Cabaye had 17 under-19 caps. When I totaled his caps personally, it came up to 15. I can only confirm 12 of those appearances, but the three other appearances are likely the friendlies against Northern Ireland in October 2004 and the May 2005 friendlies against Benin and Nigeria. I don't have the match reports, though. I have things to do, so I won't go into details on the other caps because it is what is it. I'll search for references when I get the chance. Also, I don't understand the "I've all France lineups from Toulon 2006, so this is the source of my Cabaye's edit". Do you have them off-line or something? — JSRant Away 23:33, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
- No need to fix anything, as I haven't. Speaking of verifiability, if you made edits using the unverifiable offline excuse that you are a "football statistician so I've got many match reports", then that's wrong and if you did the same in other biographies I hope that you'll fix this. — JSRant Away 16:30, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Anyway, Hong Kong sent her national football team for the tournament; even they are not count as 'A' matches. Why are you deleteing information that is true and sourced, like the one on player Ortega Deniran. It was full true information, and I don't understand who is giving you right to deal with it! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.154.222.98 (talk) 16:20, 27 July 2011 (UTC)

Just to let you know that I've had an email from the editor you were reverting on the above article. Juice80 (talk · contribs) claims to be the article subject and is upset about some inaccuracies in his bio. I've unblocked the account and advised him to explain who he is and request changes on the article talk page rather than edit warring on the article. Hopefully you'll be able to sort this out amicably between you, though I have also let him know about our OTRS system in the event that you can't. Obviously we want bio articles to be as accurate as possible per WP:BLP and we certainly don't want to upset article subjects, but sources must still be provided :) If you need a hand, let me know or ask at the Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard. Hi, I don't understand why you have reverted the wikipedia of the player Kasali Yinka Casal when I provided valid sources for all my amendments? A lot of the information that you put on the players wikipedia is inaccurate especially about the player going on trial with Gaz Metan which is why I changed it and added references to back up everything that I done. The player never went on a trial with Gaz Metan, he was sent there on loan and was registered with the club Gaz Metan from February 2010 to July 2010, that is why before you just change an article you should have looked at the references first, then you would have know they are valid. EUsports —Preceding undated comment added 10:12, 19 August 2011 (UTC).
I believe the best way to resolve this situation is to look at all the links I have provided, which is clear evidence that the player was sent on loan to Gaz Metan not on trial:
http://www.goonersguide.com/football-pick-07626-Gaz-Metan-Medias-v-FC-Vaslui.htm
http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/gaz-metan-medias/historische-gastarbeiter/verein_8104.html
http://footblog.gr/?p=411&lang=en
Look at all the above references, this is enough proof to demonstrate that the player was sent on loan to Gaz Metan not on trial — Preceding unsigned comment added by EUsports (talk • contribs) 10:17, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
Also look at the link below, it shows how many games the player has played. 4 for Dc United, 17 for Cambuur not 16, and 6 for Swindon Town, 5 in the league and 1 in the carling cup:
http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/kasali-yinka-casal/leistungsdaten/spieler_60877.html
EUsports —Preceding undated comment added 10:27, 19 August 2011 (UTC).
Ok thats fine, by why did you remove the information on the player running track and field and currently holding a United Kingdom record in the relay? Take a look at the link below because this is a valid reference and a good source of information:
http://www.gbrathletics.com/uk/mu13.htm
scroll down to the section that reads the following:
4 x 100 METRES RELAY 50.32 Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers 1 Stoke 5 Sep 1999
(Yinka Casal, Matthew Hislop, Denzil Davidson, Victor Nyasiri)
The above reference is a good source and I would like for you to put that information back or I will do it myself --EUsports (talk) 10:40, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
Why did you remove the information on the football club in Hungary Ujpest making a bid of 80'000Euros? The bid of 80'000Euros was accepted by the players current club in Holland SC Cambuur but the deal fell through at the end. Look at the link below:
http://www.swindon-town-fc.co.uk/Person.asp?PersonID=CASALKAS
Read the information on the above reference. It clearly states that a deal was in place for the player to transfer from SC Cambuur to Ujpest, but the deal fell through at the end.

Below is another link to support that statement:

- If game is on FIFA doen't mean that this is official. For example Denmark has got game vs Poland from 2010 when they played league team not A team. The same Bosnia - Poland from 2007, Bosnia played with Olympic.--Oleola (talk) 10:31, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
- I told you that is special case of Hong Kong before handover and it is FIFA international matches and official matches of HKFA. It recorded as Hong Kong national football team. Where is your standard come from? It is your idea only. hoising (talk) 10:35, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
No you're wrong, FIFA didn't count this match as a full international because Hong Kong used some foreign players[4].--Oleola (talk) 10:36, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
RSSSF is not any official organization and they record it wrongly. RSSSF could not differentiate Hong Kong national football team and Hong Kong XI. It is very clear that FIFA & HKFA has ensure that these 4 matches are international A match which played by Hong Kong national football team.hoising (talk) 10:42, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
I would like to told you that there is no 'Hong Kong nationality' because Hong Kong never was a country. She was colony and is special admin. region. For her unique, these 4 matches liked abnormal but they had been approved by FIFA anf HKFA. Do you know what I mean? PLZ... hoising (talk) 10:49, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

- I just want to told you that this news is a common sense in Hong Kong. If you don't listen these Chinese, how to estimate it is not Hong Kong national football team? Hello Oleola,
I just noticed you have reverted my work on Ahmed Musa
I have been editing Ahmed Musa for quite sometime now, I know all about his stats.
Musa has played one game for the NIG U-23 I noticed you have reverted it but it is referenced pal....
Musa also played two games for the Nigerian senior team at the weekend in Abuja against Guinea in the Nations Cup http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/news/newsid=1524040.html
and again on Tuesday 11th Oct in Watford England against Ghana http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/match-centre/Ghana-vs-Nigeria-article797980.html
I will be updating this soon.
Please don't revert me, everything is referenced, finding the right ref article can be a chore so its quite discouraging as an editor. Additionally most times after the reverts and undos the initial contribution seems not mine anymore. May i suggest perhaps instead of reverting you can modify etc, that way my input is noted.
Thanks for understanding

Country of origin
[edit]There was a lengthy discussion about this quite a few years ago - I don't have willpower to dig it our right now, sorry (I really should bookmark it). The consensus was that we'll use the geographical area for locations in biographies, as regimes will change but the geographical area remains the same.
I think this is the only logical way to do it. Otherwise, my grandfather was born in the Tsarist Russia, got married in the Republic of Estonia, first child was born in the Nazi Germany, second child in the Soviet Union and died in the Republic of Estonia. All that while living in Pärnu. Kinda silly, isn't it?
Also, as you said yourself, Estonia was occupied. Most countries of the world did not recognize the incorporation to the Soviet Union de jure and viewed post-1991 Republic of Estonia as if the independent Republic of Estonia would have continuously existed. That adds an another layer of confusion - will we go with the prevalent view or the Soviet view of Estonia having happily and voluntarily joined the glorious Soviet Union? No, I think it would be better to go with geographical area or current political division - and in case where it matters for some reason, we could use "Estonia (Estonian SSR)", but I must admit I cannot think any reason to include this.
Sorry, if it was a bit of a ramble, but I am dead tired from work right now - long day and a project deadline in 10 days. Time for a bed for me!
- --Sander Säde 19:32, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
- I digged this discussion, there was no consensus.Oleola (talk) 23:38, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you for the link - I was not aware of that discussion, the one I remember was from 2006 or so. It was strange to read it, with some now-permbanned racists piping in.
- Perhaps it would be a good time to re-initiate the discussion and try to create a formal guideline. Or maybe just use common sense, case by case.
- --Sander Säde 07:04, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
- Just FYI, I have reverted your (Sander Säde's) edits for two reasons - firstly they were marked as reverting vandalism (which it wasn't) and secondly because I think it's clear you have to use the political situation at the time of someone's birth to denote their birthplace. Having worked largely on Israeli political biographies I have come across people born around early-1900s Europe and the Middle East, and using the current countries just looks bizarre - someone born in Haifa in 1913 was not born in Israel - they were born in the Ottoman Empire, someone born in Kiev in 1910 was born in the Russian Empire, not the Ukraine. I think it is misleading (and of course factually incorrect) to say that someone was born in a country that didn't exist at the time. I know the argument about Estonia is that some countries didn't recognise the fact that it was part of the USSR, but we have to accept the fact that it was part of the USSR whether people like it or not (the closest modern example is probaby Taiwan/China, and we do not describe people born in Taiwan as being born in PR China despite the fact that very few countries recognise Taiwan and most support the One China policy). Number 57 10:07, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry, but I find your reasons rather unconvincing. Let's take, for example, Kalle Lasn, born in Tallinn in 1942. Estonia was occupied by the Nazi Germany at the time, so shouldn't his birth place be Tallinn, Ostland? Or, if we would go with the view of Soviet Union and consider Estonian SSR to be established and existing continuously starting from 1940 - so Kalle Lasn's birthplace would be Tallinn, Estonian SSR. Or we could choose to go with the prevalent modern-day view, which sees Republic of Estonia as existing continuously since 1918 and have him born in Tallinn, Republic of Estonia.
- I hope you'll see what a slippery slope this is. Better just to use the modern-day name - Tallinn, Estonia. Political regimes come and go, geographical places stay. If anyone wants, they can always click on the link and see during which political regime the person was born. Let's not consider all readers to be idiots.
- I will not start some kind of pointless edit war, but I invite you to revert your changes and use common sense from now on.
- --Sander Säde 11:06, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
- I don't see it as a slippery slope at all. War conditions are totally different to something like the USSR so you're not exactly using the best example, but I would also have no problem with using Ostmark if it was a recognised entity at the time of someone's birth there. Would your "common sense" approach meaning claiming that a Roman emporer was born in Italy or that Jesus was born in Israel, or do you have some arbitary cut-off point for how far back we can go using current countries? Number 57 12:04, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, yes, we even use puppet states (recognised obviously) for the Second World War period. Occupations count as well. FkpCascais (talk) 16:13, 15 October 2011 (UTC)

So basically you're saying you're intentionally misleading readers by using non-recognized entities? Estonian SSR was de jure recognized by a bare handful of countries. It's kinda silly to go against international consensus, basically claiming we're smarter than scholars.
As for "Roman emporer" and "arbitary cut-off point" - I must say I like how this has been solved at Julius Caesar article. His birthplace is given as "Subura, Rome" without making Rome a wikilink. That might be the best way to solve the issue - always link the actual village/town/area, not the ever-changing political entity. This gives readers a fixed point where to start if they're interested to see more. So, "Tallinn, Estonia" - or even just Tallinn, thus avoiding the whole issue.

Oleola normally i wont bother once its you or Vasco cos you guys are diligent but i believe that the way you edited Uchebo/ Rangers makes the player look bad. He said he left because he wasnt properly seen to and shortly after the club claimed they dropped interest. Theres obviously conflict so i believe both sides should be in WIKI i also attached a linkfrom the Guardian where mcCoist confirms he didnt see the player when questioned about it so I believe that when parties involved acctually make quotes or claims then it should be included and it is not fair to tell me that this is not wiki quote because I can show you hundreds of quotes on other footballers Wiki. we all all editors trying to contribute and i am only trying to contribute. please look into this because i am not trying to annoy anybody by reverting etc i am only working with facts and based on this we can also say that Uchebo dropped his interest in Rangers. Momodou Ceesay
[edit]Just to inform you as you might revert my revision. Ceesay has a total 7 caps and 4 goals so far. The only other appearance he made from the missing data at NFT is against Namibia on 3 Sept. 2011 which is proven with this source, but giant strikers Momodou Ceesay and Jarsu Mustapha were kept at arm's length by some steady defending...[5] For the other matches which are also still missing data; 29 March 2011, he missed the match [6], 7 June 2011, missed the match [7], 24 July 2011, only a loacl based squad named [8]. He also should have four goals and not 3, he scored in the 3-1 loss to Burkina Faso on 9 OCtober 2010 [9]. Also, his U-17 stats are inaccurate. It only reflects his appearances & goals at the 2005 FIFA U-17's. He was also a regular at African U-17's earlier that year where they became champions, also scored twice. Banana Fingers (talk) 14:24, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
- Shouldn't it be obvious why I (strongly) think Ceesay scored? I just provided you with a BBC report, surely their reports are accurate. Soccerway (which is Global Sports Media) says its Ceesay and same goes for other sources. I also found a screen shot from a Gambian forum [10] (scroll down about a bit) from the end of that match which shows the final score and scorers. Although its a bit blurry, you can sort of see it says Momodou Ceesay and not Omar Jawo. Plus, are those match reports from CAF Online really official reports and therefore accurate? As for the U17 stats in the 2005 African U17's, he scored against Mali in the group stage and against South Africa in the semi-finals, that's already 2 caps & 2 goals. He played in their final group stage match against Ghana, Although Ghana dominated play, the Gambians thought they had levelled scores in the 30th minute, when Momodu Ceesay netted. But the strike, which came off their best move of the match, was ruled offside. [11] and in the final [12] (he's mentioned throughout the article). I'll admit though that I can't find a source which mentions him playing in their opening match but I'm sure he did. Banana Fingers (talk) 17:20, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

Richard Mpong
[edit]Hi, Oleola, you know me too well now to know that I' am a genuine editor of articles and do not vandalize articles but instead I try to improve on them, but unfortunately I did not provide the correct sources or should I say accurate sources to the information in the only one Wikipedia article of Richard Mpong, as you could see the article was at its beginning stages and the player Richard Mpong is also genuinely a "new up and coming player", so obviously the sources were limited and were not a 100% accurate with the additional information inserted into the article, I just try to do my best editing various articles not just association football players.
You really did not need to threaten me with a ban from Wikipedia as many administrators know of my good editing and know I do not vandalize articles but instead I try to improve on them, I just made a one-time innocent mistake with 1 article sources then you threaten me with a ban from Wikipedia. I want you to know that I just do my best and all that you needed to do was just to write a message on my talk page explaining the issue with the sources I had provided in the Richard Mpong article, but instead you claimed that I am inserting unreferenced information when all I did was provided sources for the information that I had additionally inserted into the Richard Mpong article, but they were not a 100% inline with the information written in the article. Oleola I honestly really do like and admire your correction editing on the association football players articles, but instead of threathning me with a ban maybe you could instead please share your association football players article editing knowledge and help me on my editing mistakes by leaving me a kind and instructive message and correction advices on how to edit association football players articles on my talk page instead of a threat of a ban from Wikipedia. Hi there OLEOLA, VASCO here,
OK i respect your decision, we'll leave 0 games/0 goals for SÃO CAETANO in his infobox. But please remove CAMPO LIMPO there, only FORADEJOGO.net makes reference to that, it could be wrong (PT.WIKI does not speak of that club, and ZEROZERO also not), and references in infobox are very ugly.
If you don't agree with my new approach, we'll take it to WP:FOOTY, but please let's not edit war. Attentively, from Portugal - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 08:35, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
- Here, found this link for you, from a Brazilian website, no reference to CAMPO LIMPO as well (see here http://www.sambafoot.com/pt/jogadores/2632_Marcinho.html). Regards. --Vasco Amaral (talk) 08:41, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

Artiom Rudnev
[edit]Stop reverting my changes. I have included the official page of Lech Poznan as a reference about the decision of Artiom Rudnev about changing his name to his native Russian. You can't revert something just because you don't like it. IT IS OFFICIAL. He requested the name change from the leadership of Poznan. He even has talked about that in interviews. Watch the page of the Lech and you will see, I linked it.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.249.242.15 (talk) 20:57, 1 April 2012
Please do not revert true information. Here You got what is his name: http://lechnews.pl/kadra/artiom-rudnev. He decided to play as a Rudnev not Rudnevs. Respect that. Andrzej19 (talk) 14:27, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi there. I noteced your strugle with the IP at that article. Incredible how some IP´s insist in adding unsourced information and then make enormous effort to edit-war in order to keep it in the article, instead of making, a possibly less complicate, effort to find a source for it. Particularly in this case of Shopov, I remember reading somewhere a long time ago that he represented the national youth team, but I think I actually read it in a magazine, so, no source, no info. Anyway, you have been doing a great job in keeping numerous articles in order and clean of vandalism.
But, what I really wanted to talk with you is about something else: Brazilian club stats in infobox. I know we have been adding only national level stats, and I fully agree with that as makes absolutelly all the sense, however it also kind of seems as an unsolved issue, in the sense of somehow being a good solution, but not perfect as it could/should be. What I mean are two things; the first that the rule is not explicit anywhere to a new editor or any IP unfamiliarised with it; and second, that it also kind of looks strange to have a player that played several years in some medium size club, as often is the case in Brazil 3rd level, and has 0 (0) in the infobox. An unfamilirised reader will certainly think that one of two: either the guy was injured all time or sanctioned or something, or the stats are wrong... Another problem is that we often find stats for much less notable 3rd (even 4th and more) clubs in other countries, and then we have the zero´s situation for Brazilian ones...
So basically we have the problem of having IP´s adding stats not knowing about the rule, and us reverting and cleaning the edits. I mean, this could potentially go on for the eternity, and it is kind of ungratefull to both sides, as they assume they are doing right by searching and adding those stats, and without us going into detail and explaining all to them, they will mostly leave frustrated and wandering why is someone removing their stats. So I was wondering if we could have some better solution that the current one, some solution that will obviously keep the zero´s for this cases, but that would at least be more clear and more easily understandable. Perhaps an asterix indocating bellow the rule of having only national stats and having the regional stats mentioned, or........ well, I don´t know but, was this ever discussed? Cause I don´t remember this discussions, but I was also abscent during some periods so maybe I missed them? Anyway, if you have close to you the link of any of the discussions regarding this could you send it to me? If not, don´t bother, but what do you think about this matter, do you have ideas or proposals? I was kind of thinking of opening a thread about this at Footy but I wanted to see with other editors first about their stand on this, and it´s nothing urgent anyway. Best regards, FkpCascais (talk) 03:29, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

[edit]This edit takes out info on the transfer. The source is reliable and is coming out of the mouth of the player himself. Why should the club disclosure be more important than that of the player? In addition, many clubs have transfers whose details are not disclosed, but the media has other sources. We in wikipedia refer just from reliable sources, not necessary the clubs' sources. Wilfried Bony
[edit]I don't think you were right in deleting my recent edit to the Bony page. His two goals against NEC were significant because Vitesse is in the title hunt 13 games into the season and only have won twice at home and NEC had three men sent off, a very rare occurrence. I realize every goal is not important but I think this past weekend's game was very intriguing and should be included on his page. I just try to make every football player's page as best as they can be. Take Ruben Schaken and Igor Denisov for example, two stubs that I have recently updated and expanded into good pages, I think. Veljko Batrović
[edit]Hi as you participated in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Veljko Batrović a year ago I thought you should know that I've just declined a G4 on Veljko Batrović and restored the pre AFD edits. Not only is the new article substantially different, but it looks like his career has moved him into our notability zone since the last AFD, with 7 rather than zero top flight appearances. In my view he has gone from a clear delete at the time of the last AFd to a clear keep this time. ϢereSpielChequers 19:23, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
Mohamed Salah
[edit]Hallo Oleola,
Please, I would like to ask you to remove the refimprove tags from Mohamed Salah. I have also been watching this page, since spring 2012, because Salah is now playing for FC Basel. Please see the following articles (amongst others) that will show quite a bit of evidence to the number of games and goals:
- 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualification#Group G
- Football at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's tournament – Group C
- 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualification#Egypt v Central African Republic
- 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification – CAF Second Round#Group G,
You've probably got your reasons why you added the tags and there are indeed very few refs, this is why I have not removed the tags myself. Thanks for your understanding of my views because I respect yours. I send the kindest greetings from Basel --Huligan0 (talk) 20:24, 13 April 2013 (UTC)
Hello Oleola,
I was wondering about this guy, why should it be only league matches? I mean, national cup games and European League qualifies are as competitive as any other league match. And, also, I'm 100% sure for what I'm talking about. It's easy to check. And, yeah, one more thing about him. In Serbia, there is huge public pressure about calling him in Serbian national team. He confirmed that he would be very happy about it. So he might get Serbian passport and become national forward in the close future. So, probably, lots of people are gonna check his wikipedia article these days. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad thing to improve his career stats. What do you think? Except my "not so good" english. :D
Thanks.
EDIT: Sorry man, it's unbelievable how idiotic some people can be. In this case I'm the major one. I had totally not noticed that only league stats go on wiki generally. Sorry once again.--Elmih (talk) 23:00, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
The article Michał Nalepa has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Article about a footballer who fails WP:GNG and who has not played in a fully pro league.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sir Sputnik (talk) 16:39, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

You can read about background here: Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#User:David-golota_disruptive_editing_and_personal_attacks. After I read User:AndyTheGrump message at WP:AN I filled List of Polish football champions article with references, so the article was completely sourced, but User:David-golota started to reverting my work completely, which means removing content and sources from the article, also reinstating unsourced and unaccurate tables he copypasted from Ekstraklasa article. I simply reinstated fully referenced content and removed unsourced material, I thought that it's allowed per WP:3RRNO #7
Decline reason:

I'm familiar with the background. Claiming edit warring exemptions is a risky business. Generally, only obvious exemptions are recognized. For example, if someone says in a BLP article that the subject is a criminal, and it's untrue and unsourced, that would be a BLP exemption. Or if someone adds meaningless vulgarity to an article, that would be a vandalism exemption. It was unwise of you to continue battling in the article, particularly while the ANI discussion was proceeding.--Bbb23 (talk) 17:14, 7 June 2013 (UTC)
- So if you familiar with my report why don't you revert his last edit in List of Polish football champions, now the article is completely unfererenced, 0 sources, content should be removed per Wikipedia:Verifiability.--Oleola (talk) 17:41, 7 June 2013 (UTC)
- There are lots of articles with unsourced material, and I'm not going to take a position on the content. If it's as bad as you think it is - and I'm not expressing an opinion on the merits - someone else will take care of it. Much of what editors believe to be urgent isn't.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:11, 7 June 2013 (UTC)

Request reason:
As Wikipedia:VANDALISM#Blanking.2C_illegitimate say vandalism is "Removing all or significant parts of a page's content without any reason". In this edit I created a lead section from scratch[13], but then David-golota blanked the whole section whithout any reason[14]. Per WP:3RRNO #4 I think I've got grounds to claim that it was an obvious vadalism. He also removed important verifiable references which is also a vandalism per Wikipedia:VANDALISM#Blanking.2C_illegitimate

U-21 Euro squad-templates
[edit]Hi there. Two years ago, you participated in this discussion regarding squad-templates for UEFA under-21 championships, so I wanted to let you know that some of the same templates again are up for discussion here. Mentoz86 (talk) 11:58, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
Jacques Zoua
[edit]Hallo Oleola, once again I have noticed that you are still continuing your edit-war against me. In the meantime you have reverted youth clubs and figures on page Jacques Zoua stating unreferenced. If you had looked at the German, Spanish or Italian Wiki-Version you would have seen the refs. You are continuously reverting my edits, somehow you are getting some pleasure doing this, but I don't understand this and I don't want to. Just, please stop your continued edit-war. WikiProject Poland Newsletter • January 2014 • Issue II
For our freedom and yours Welcome to the second issue of WikiProject Poland newsletter, the Monitor (named after the first Polish newspaper). Our Project has been operational since 1 June, 2005, and also serves as the Poland-related Wikipedia notice board. I highly recommend watchlisting the Wikipedia:WikiProject Poland page, so you can be aware of the ongoing discussions. We hope you will join us in them, if you haven't done so already! Unlike many other WikiProjects, we are quite active; we get close to a hundred discussion threads each year and we do a pretty good job at answering all issues raised. Last year we were featured in the Signpost, and our interviewer was amazed at our activity. In the end, however, even as active as we are, we are just a tiny group - you can easily become one of our core members! In addition to a lively encyclopedic, Poland-related, English-language discussion forum, we have numerous useful tools that can be of use to you - and that you could help us maintain and develop:
This is not all; on our page you can find a list of useful templates (including userboxes), awards and other tools!
It took me three years to finish this issue. Feel free to help out getting the next one before 2017 by being more active in WikiProject management :) You have received this newsletter because you are listed as a member at WikiProject Poland. |

U21 caps / goals
[edit]Where did you get source for U21 players, like Kevin Kampl or Rajko Rep? You removed U19 stats from Rep's article but not U21, so there probably is a source for him / other Slovenian players? 86.58.36.235 (talk) 20:19, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. [edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Paulinho (footballer). Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted or removed.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Qed237 (talk) 11:59, 20 December 2015 (UTC)

(TRANSLATION: "After these two years of glamour the Tarragona-born forward represented different teams as Ceuta, Cartagonova until reaching Tàrrega, aged 32. It was the last stop of that footballer «with much eager but with important deficiencies», as Kiko Ramírez defines himself later on. Later on, Nàstic called again. This time they offered him a place on the bench. At Juan Carlos Granero's side."
Juan Carlos Granero was Gimnàstic's manager in 2002, per here. Then, PLEASE, stop editing and removing stuff that you don't know or don't bother to search for. MYS77 ✉ 02:29, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
- You are correct, indeed. However, this article also says that he was the manager of the Juvenil squad after leaving the assistant role. He remained manager of the youth side until 2010 (per here and here). I'll add the info, thanks for your input. MYS77 ✉ 15:12, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
Hello there, from Portugal,
Please don't threaten me with blocks OK, i was only trying to assume good faith and i thought you would/could the same, in this article or in Kiko Ramírez (in which you reverted and were yourself reverted). Hey, but don't worry, article stays as you want, i won't touch it anymore.
Attentively, sorry for any inconvenience --Quite A Character (talk) 18:11, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
- Do not know how i did not think of this earlier: FUTBOLME.com (link #2) is Spanish as him, and it shows him playing youth football for at least Torrellano and Torrellano Illice. Do you think you can allow me to add that to box or it's too much to ask?
Thank you --Quite A Character (talk) 22:51, 17 August 2017 (UTC)
- Reference #1 (recently added to the article) shows his youth spells correctly. Now PLEASE, stop reverting other people or I'll treat this as a WP:NPA. Thank you, MYS77 ✉ 01:31, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
Yes, great work from User:MYS77! --Quite A Character (talk) 01:54, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
- You are so full of yourself that you didn't even realize that Elche and Torrellano had a partnership back in that time. So if the guy is listed in Elche's website, he could be playing for Torrellano (as this website shows) instead. But no, you prefer to be "better" and show everybody no respect. We're actually trying to IMPROVE things here by RESPECTING the others, thing that I recommend you to learn.
- But whatever, I'll use Quite A Character's words: "article stays as you want, i won't touch it anymore". You do not know how to work with others, so then I'll stop worrying about somebody like you. Thank you, MYS77 ✉ 19:03, 20 August 2017 (UTC)
I will take the situation to WP:FOOTY, in the meantime article stays as it is, you removed almost everything again and completely denied the merits of WP:BOLD, OK... --Quite A Character (talk) 20:35, 20 August 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, WP:VERIFY is very important. I have started the discussion at WP:FOOTY as promised, please participate if you want. --Quite A Character (talk) 02:13, 21 August 2017 (UTC)

Hello. I'm not sure about your change to his international stats. His DBU page counts all 22 matches as under-21 in the summary table – probably because the table layout doesn't have rows for U23 or Olympic – but in the list of matches, matches 17–22 are footnoted as under-23.
Matches 17–19 are noted as Olympic preparation matches and 20–22 are the Olympics proper. So the three warmup games could go in the infobox as under-23, if you think it's misleading to count them as Olympic, or all six could go in as U23 for simplicity, but they're definitely not under-21. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 17:09, 17 January 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Same applies to you. "Oleola is warned against tag bombing, issuing warning templates unnecessarily, and any other behaviors that would indicate he's involved in bad faith harassment. In cases of genuine concern, Oleola is advised to clearly and civilly discuss his concerns and attempt to help resolve the issue in good faith, rather than unilaterally reviewing another editors contributions."
User:Mega60 is a very trustworthy provider of stats of Spanish youth NT teams. He added those stats back in 2015, and we had it here on WP:AGF (it seems that you can't understand this guideline).
Hope you understand, get out of your own "box" and interact in a more civil manner. MYS77 ✉ 02:49, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
