Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Elise Stefanik, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. KidAdSPEAK 00:58, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Mount Allison University, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page French. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 05:59, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Centennial.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. John Lewis and the new name for College Ten at UCSC

[edit]

Thank you for adding the John R Lewis College at UCSC to this article. I made two addition edits to improve the citation format. Citations are somewhat finicky—you'll take a while to get comfortable adding them. But there are people here that watch-list articles (like me) and make minor improvements like I just did. Getting the change in the article like you did is important. Thanks again. — Neonorange (talk to Phil) (he, they) 19:31, 27 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

How can I update the page name so it reads John R Lewis College vs College Ten? Jmdc-chicago (talk) 19:07, 27 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

One of the reasons to place brackets around an subject that does not yet have an article appear in red, as John R Lewis College now shows, is to encourage creation of an article for the subject. I do not know if the former College Ten within UCSC is meets Wikipedia notability requirements as of now for an article. However, many experienced editors watch the John Lewis article; please let one of those editors make the decision on whether or not to change the red-link to black or create an article for John R Lewis College to change the link to "WP:Red link. An editor might also to add a section to the UCSC article. Thank you. — Neonorange (talk to Phil) (he, they) 01:47, 28 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
