Speedy deletion nomination of Balthasar (footballer)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Balthasar (footballer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Héldon Ramos
- Community guidelines, don't dismiss them. Also please note that per his own Soccerway profile, he does not have that honour. Just because the team won the honour does not mean every player gets a winner's medal. GiantSnowman 19:49, 26 April 2017 (UTC)
- I've sent you the guidelines - you need to provide reliable sources to verify information, especially about living people. ZeroZero is, as far as I'm aware, not a reliable source as its content is user generated. GiantSnowman 20:34, 26 April 2017 (UTC)
Yes Mr. Geregen, GS is correct. ZEROZERO is user-generated and therefore must never be used as a reference. As a mere external link (especially for Portuguese footballers or players that spent many years in the country) it's harmless, but not as a ref, please. I see you have been using that to refer to many football relationships, but it's unreliable OK?
Attentively, from Portugal --85.242.133.151 (talk) 21:23, 26 April 2017 (UTC)
- No problem, always glad to help! But i do agree with you, Héldon does deserve a Taça de Portugal medal for Sporting because he played five minutes against F.C. Vizela in the last-16 stage, but if the admin does not let us, oh well... happy editing! --85.242.133.151 (talk) 23:30, 26 April 2017 (UTC)
Helping out: this site (https://www.foradejogo.net/index.php) is much more reliable for Portuguese football(ers), not ZZ. Also, for match reports and stuff, check out A Bola and Record. --85.242.133.151 (talk) 23:52, 26 April 2017 (UTC)
- Regarding Man Utd in 2015-16 FA Cup, Soccerway lists the honour for players who won it... GiantSnowman 06:45, 27 April 2017 (UTC)
This is the previous anon address, now with an account. I noticed that, in your many creations of Portuguese football players/managers, you never: 1 - add the player position, in intro and categories; 2 - add (when it's the case) the "Portuguese Second Division players" category. Please do so from now on, thanks.
Also, in intro it's best to write "...is a Portuguese (former nor not) footballer who plays (or played)..." than "...is a Portuguese (former or not) footballer player who plays (or played)...". Happy weekend --Quite A Character (talk) 15:22, 2 June 2017 (UTC)
- Jérôme Palatsi: there, as my summaries in the article will also explain, I have now reached a compromise with you, more storyline with refs. I found sources for almost everything, but not for his work as a scout with Montpellier. Judging from the website details, it seems you again retrieved your info from ZEROZERO. I thought I had already told you that Zerozero is user-generated and so not reliable.
Attentively --Quite A Character (talk) 13:09, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
- More refs, and (in case you have looked at my previous version) before you say "this guy is crazy/idiot, he also has ZEROZERO as a reference in storyline", i only added that because it was a quite long report and i was in a hurry, but i have already removed that and added a reliable source (from Rádio e Televisão de Portugal) for his GK coach work at Beira-Mar. However, if nothing is found for his scouting job at Beira-Mar, i will remove it from story. --Quite A Character (talk) 19:39, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

The article Danila Khakhalev has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- As per recent discussion Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)#The criteria of WP:NSPORT here are too inclusive : there is clear consensus that no subject-specific notability guideline, including Notability (sports) is a replacement for or supercedes the General Notability Guideline. Arguments must be more refined than simply citing compliance with a subguideline of WP:NSPORTS in the context of an Articles for Deletion discussion.
I did a research on Danila Khakhalev - no significant coverage about this footballer, no statistics, awards or any other significant achievements, therefore I propose this page for deletion.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Jone Rohne Nester (talk) 13:53, 9 June 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Limbergo Taccola
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Limbergo Taccola requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia.
However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ___CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk 17:29, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

Hey there. Saw your edit on the above article. Quick question, since I'm not that conversant on association football guidelines, are Friendlies not considered as actually playing for the main club? The reason I ask is that if that is the case, then this article should probably be prodded, since he only played in four Friendlies. Thanks.Onel5969 TT me 20:41, 6 November 2019 (UTC)

fully professional league
I see you massively prodded many articles. I do not see evidence that "Russian Professional Football League is not fully professional. Please add the corresponding reference into the article or remove your prod tags. By the way, please do not delist/delink bios from other articles until the page actually deleted. Staszek Lem (talk) 18:44, 22 November 2019 (UTC)
- @Staszek Lem: The list of fully professional leagues is maintained in WP:FPL. I added the third-tier Russian Professional Football League to that list several years ago, providing reference to specific paragraphs in league's regulations. Now there was a discussion on the talk page about those regulations, and there was some other paragraphs pointed out that I didn't notice at first. Now that I read them, I agree it doesn't match the criteria. Vast majority of the pages I'm PROD-ing were created and maintained by me anyway. Thanks!
Geregen2 (talk) 19:15, 22 November 2019 (UTC)
- [You should answer in the same page the way I showed above, otherwise it is impossible to read the full conversation.]
- [You hav to provide a link to the discussion you mentioned.
- As far I understood you, you are saying that there is no formal definition of "fully pro", and the term is introduced in Wikipedia for the purpose of establishing notability criteria. Am I correct? If this is so, WP:FPL does not have a definition of what FPL is.
- Regardless, when prodding your summary must have a link to the policy or discussion, otherwise it looks like it is you random opinion.
- In any case, I understand you reasons and revert my de-prodding. Staszek Lem (talk) 20:34, 22 November 2019 (UTC)
- P.S. You may delink nonnotable persons in articles in places where this person is specifically discussed, but in other places where the person is merely listed, the link must be kept, so that when the article is deleted, the deleting admin checks the back links and removes this person from these lists. In my case, I am talking about Komar (surname) page. Staszek Lem (talk) 20:45, 22 November 2019 (UTC)

I have removed the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
tag from Roman Strakhov, which you proposed for deletion, because its deletion has previously been contested or viewed as controversial. Proposed deletion is not for controversial deletions. For this reason, proposed deletion is disallowed on articles that have previously been de-prodded, even by the page's creator, or which have previously been listed on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{proposed deletion}}

Remember to sign messages with four tildes
Next time, when you notify WildCherry06 or some other user, please remember to sign your message with four tildes (~~~~). You have added hundreds of unsigned messages on various user talk pages, with most of them being on User talk:WildCherry06. I have suggested a bot request at WP:BOTREQ#Bot to add signature and timestamp to hundreds of user talk page messages added by Geregen2 to help sign all those messages. Again, do not leave messages unsigned! GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 15:46, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
- @GeoffreyT2000: Yes, my mistake, my apologies. I didn't realize the template does not insert the signature. Will add it going forward. Geregen2 (talk) 15:50, 19 December 2019 (UTC)

About Roman Boldyrev
I couldn't help but notice that the player played in the Russian Premier League, which is still listed as a fully professional league on Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Fully professional leagues. From the wording of WP:NFOOTY, I read that as long as they played in the match when the football club was part of the fully professional league, then they are still notable even if the club is relegated from the league (or in this case dissolved). Also the PROD reason stated a very similar, but not the same, acronym. Am I missing something here? Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 23:17, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Dreamy Jazz: Hi, he was on the roster of the team, but he didn't play in any Russian Premier League games (hence 0 in that line of his infobox). Being on the roster is not sufficient for notability usually, unless he plays in some other other competition in the same season, like national cup or UEFA competition. Cheers! re proposed deletions
Hi Geregen2, can I bring your attention to the issue of transparency and proposed deletion? If you read Wikipedia:Proposed_deletion#Nominating you'll see the line "Provide a clear edit summary indicating the page has been proposed for deletion. Do not mark the edit as minor." This brings the deletion proposal to the attention of anyone watchlisting that article. edit summaries are generally optional but good practice, however the proposed deletion process is one area where we make an exception - So please use edit summaries in future when proposing articles for deletion. Thanks. ϢereSpielChequers 16:19, 24 December 2019 (UTC)

Russian football players and managers
Hello Geregen2. Thank you for your help in cleaning up hundreds of articles about Russian football players and managers following the discussion which determined the RPFL was not a fully-pro league. I think most of the non-compliant articles have now been addressed which is fantastic!
Since I've proposed deletion of so many articles on Russian footballers, I want to improve many of the articles that are compliant with WP:FPL so they are more than one or two sentences of text. I'm asking if you can help me since I believe you may know the Russian language far better than I do. :-)
I think it would be very helpful to replace links to the now-dead KLISF website with links for Footballfacts, and that's usually easy to do. More difficult is finding newspaper articles about these footballers in the Russian media. I've had success finding articles at kp.ru and tass.ru (for example, [1] and [2]). Please let me know if there are other sources you have used, and I will try to expand more articles. If you can do the same, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you and best regards. Jogurney (talk) 17:14, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Jogurney Thank you so much for that work. There are old-school daily sports newspapers which could help with the coverage of some older games and players (from more than 10 years ago): Sport Express and Sovetsky Sport, they are still active, so there should be coverage of more recent players there too. The most popular online-only sources, I believe, are sports.ru and championat.com. Sports.ru got a useful feature where if you search for a specific players name (and they have coverage of that player), there might be all historical news articles and blog posts etc. concentrated in one page, for example, like this for Zhano Ananidze. I will try to find more time to improve the articles once I finish the cleanup of the articles that no longer pass the notability criteria. Geregen2 (talk) 18:14, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
- It appears that there are sources for certain regions that can be helpful. I found toz.su (Tikhookeanskaya Gazeta) has good coverage of the Khabarovsk region, and footballers who played for SKA. Best regards. Jogurney (talk) 18:21, 23 January 2020 (UTC)

The article Silvano Bresadola has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.
