Non-free images
[edit]Hey Geo - I'm concerned about the replaceability and usage of the following non-free photos:
- File:Baffinland tote road in 2007.jpg
- File:Baffinland illustrates its plan to feed Capesize freighters, moored offshore, from freighters small enough to ferry ore from Milne Inlet.jpg
- File:Canol-trail-moose-antlers-in-wires.jpg
- File:Camp 6 TV room, with shackles.jpg
For the first two, the argument is made that the places are remote and hard to get to. That's not a particularly convincing argument for replaceability, especially since we now appear to have photos on the Commons of the site.
For the moose antlers, the argument is, again, that the place is remote - but the place is still technically accessible and the image is entirely replaceable.
For the last image: Guantanamo is obviously hard to access, though the US government publishes its photos into the public domain and we already have many images of camp 6 that show similar areas. The image's purpose of use is listed as showing the TV and common area privileges, though that's something that is adequately conveyed by a combination of text and the free images we currently have of the camp.
Just giving you a heads up if you have any disagreement with these. Otherwise, I'll be tagging them for deletion and/or discussion soon. Thanks, ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 03:58, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Lazhar Ben Mohamed Tlil
[edit]The article Lazhar Ben Mohamed Tlil has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Seems like a prisoner who may or may not be tenuously linked to a news story from 2009.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — foxj 16:42, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
Dwayne Tryumf on WikiAlpha
[edit]You may want to go look at his profile on WikiAlpha and the one on Wikipedia.The Cross Bearer (talk) 08:32, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
- @The Cross Bearer:. I took a look. I am not really that experienced at what does and doesn't meet the special notability criteria for musical artists. I don't think he would measure up to the criteria of the WP:General notability guideline. I think winning a mainstream musical award would guarantee sailing past notability concerns. How many of the references you found were from mainstream publications, not Christian publications?
- Feel free to keep me posted. Good luck! Geo Swan (talk) 21:35, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
