Hello, FloridaArmy,

I know that you have done so much work in the area of African-American history, I was wondering if you thought anything could come from a draft article, Draft:Quarterly Review of Higher Education Among Negroes. The draft was written by a student editor and they tend to show up, work on a draft for a course and then disappear. So, it is very unlikely that they will return to get this draft into better shape.

But the draft looked like an interesting article to me so I delayed G13 deletion and thought I'd ask you if you thought that the draft could eventually be moved to main space or if the content could be used in another article. I'm not a content creator myself but you create so many articles, I thought you'd have a sense of its potential. Thank you for any help you can provide. Liz ^{Read! Talk!} 22:32, 7 June 2023 (UTC)

Sorry, we stepped on each other. Thanks for providing that additional source as it does explain the conflicting information. Its still weird that I can't find anything about it prior to 1929 if it was called the Turnage Theater back around 1913. There is really no coverage again about it until the 50's, when it fell into disrepair and injured an patron who sued, then he sold most of his interest in it to a Charlotte based theater company. But again, this is all local coverage and not real in-depth. I will check "The Palace" and see if that comes up with anything. Unfortunately it is not listed as a historic site, even for North Carolina (double check me on that though in case I missed something). S0091 (talk) 20:20, 10 June 2023 (UTC)

Your rename of African American newspapers

I was curious about your renaming African American newspapers without the hyphen. So why did you remove the hyphen in the title? Your explanation says only "FloridaArmy moved page African-American newspapers to African American newspapers over redirect" which doesn't help me understand your intent.

I have never seen African-American unhyphenated in any other medium. Unhyphenated, it looks like the reference is to African immigrants to the USA; not to the general population of Black people in the USA whose forebears have been out of Africa for generations.

As examples, consider Barack Obama, his father, and his wife. Had his father, a citizen of Kenya, become a naturalized USA citizen, he might be considered an African American (no hyphen).
