- Thankyou for taking the time to review my submission. Masutaro Otani is my great grandfather and much of the information is public online anyway however parts are told to me directly from his sons. Please could you tell me specifically what I need to do to get the page published. Which specific parts need reliable sources and I'll do my best to provide them. Masutaro Otani is quite an important person in the British judo world and I'm shocked he doesn't have a Wikipedia page already. Regards Finlay73 (talk) 14:10, 13 August 2024 (UTC)

(To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's eligibility.

- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. - Hi I thought that him being author of multiple books, one of which was especially famous, would be enough for a Wikipedia page? Please can you tell me why not and what I could do to get the Wikipedia page accepted? Thankyou Finlay73 (talk) 01:13, 23 August 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Masutaro Otani Society of Judo moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Masutaro Otani Society of Judo. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. DoubleGrazing (talk) 17:25, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, I came across this article while doing new page patrolling, and had to move it to drafts as the sources don't come even close to establishing notability of the subject, being a mix of passing (or no) mentions and primary sources. For notability of organisations, per WP:ORG, we need to see significant coverage, directly of the subject, in multiple secondary sources (newspapers, magazines, TV or radio programmes, books, etc.) that are both reliable and entirely independent (of the subject, and of each other). Once you've found and cited such sources, you may request a review of this article (now draft) by clicking on the blue 'submit the draft' button, before it is published. [edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved content from one or more pages into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content (here or elsewhere), Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. I have added a statement to Talk:Lady Elizabeth Bourchier to indicate where the content was copied from. - Ah I apologise I didn't realise. Thankyou for teaching me! Finlay73 (talk) 22:36, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
