Faulty Reference

That website given as a reference only lists tv shows up to two weeks/13 days in advance. That's why I kept reverting those edits.--Mr Fink (talk) 03:17, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

@Apokryltaros: Just posted on the article talk page. Continue there? Still confused. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 03:22, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
@EvergreenFir: I'm doubting that reference. I can see the Episode Guide, but it's still unofficial. I don't see how Disney would air two Gravity Falls episodes in the same day, and they've also revealed other claims like saying that Rock of Sages will air on September 12, and that listing later got removed. They also claimed two Wander Over Yonder episodes would air later in September, that listing got removed as well. We can't be sure about the Gravity Falls listings. -- EvilLair ( | c) 03:29, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
@EvilLair: Glad someone else can see it at least :) I'm not too confident in it but we typically trust zap2it right? EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 03:34, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
@EvergreenFir: Yeah, I guess, since we've trusted MSN listings in the past (before it switched its layout, thus becoming less useful, but I heard it's sometimes unreliable). I think we should rather use this and this separately as better references. - EvilLair ( | c) 03:54, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
The separate refs is a good idea to me. Any opinion Apokryltaros? EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 03:56, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
That would be better. Also, I can not move beyond August 25 whenever I go to zapit.--Mr Fink (talk) 03:58, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
How strange. The refresh didn't work? Well, EvilLair, you want to do the honors? EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 04:03, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
I'll try. - EvilLair ( | c) 04:09, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

Jazz Jennings

What makes Jazz Jennings so special? Lots of Celebrities use pseudonyms, and their actual names are usually listed on their Wikipedia page. If you are going to insist on removing Jazz Jennings' real surname, then we need to remove birth names from all Celebrity pages.JessicaFaith84 (talk) 15:14, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

She's a minor and she's trans. The family appears to have taken efforts to keep their family surname private. I'll start a discussion on WP:BLPN. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 15:16, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
Just because they have taken efforts to hide the information, does not mean it is hidden! I have several more sources I could cite beside the two I did. I thought the whole point of Wikipedia was to report totally and completely factual information. I believe all Wikipedia articles must be 110% transparent, regardless of the subject matterJessicaFaith84 (talk) 15:19, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
Wikipedia does not indiscriminately post information. It is not a tabloid. Please see, for example, WP:BLPPRIVACY. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 15:27, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

Hooray for Bollywood

It's nice to see familiar editors editing Bollywood articles. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:31, 14 August 2015 (UTC)

@Cyphoidbomb: not sure how I got involved on those pages since I know nothing about them. :) EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 16:29, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
That's how I got involved in them! I know nothing about them either! What's important to know is that corruption is everywhere. People will inflate box office values or deflate them depending on their agenda. There is no official box office tracking—the various publications have to estimate, which makes it a little irritating when people keep fishing for the latest, higher value. It's no more correct than any of the other values. TheRedPenOfDoom once pointed out that The Times of India once stopped reporting on collections because of the corruption. Let's see, what else would I recommend... Oh, watch out for copy/pasting, and if anyone describes a film as "Blockbuster status" or "Super-hit status" or "Verdict: Failure", kick that person directly in the nuts. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:46, 14 August 2015 (UTC)

"Sources really should be inline since the rest of the article is that way"

hello;

thank-you for inserting yourself into the discussion.

please refer me to the relevant WIKIPEDIA POLICY for deleting legitimate references from an article? "because they really should be in line"

i understand that it is preferred that ALL material on articles should be neatly bound up with tidy in-line references, but there is NO wikipedia policy to permit the removal of material that IS referenced, OR to remove references, simply because the inline cites are not complete.

Lx 121 (talk) 04:32, 17 August 2015 (UTC)

@Lx 121: You're welcome. I love inserting myself. The issue is formatting. See WP:SOURCES. Also, a number of the sources you gave were not WP:RS. Last, it's perfectly fine to revert "legitimate references" if there's no consensus for the material. See WP:BRD and WP:CON. I hope you calm down and discuss instead of treating it like a WP:BATTLEGROUND. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 04:36, 17 August 2015 (UTC)
& with all due respect i'm not the one who has made this a "battleground". this problem began with you & your friend's removal of legitimate, sourced material from an article, in VIOLATION of wikipedia policy. Lx 121 (talk) 04:51, 17 August 2015 (UTC)
{{tq}you & your friend's}}... no. That article has been on my watchlist a while and I got tired of seeing the dispute so I "inserted myself". EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 04:53, 17 August 2015 (UTC)
so, link me to the relevant policies, please? :) because i see NOTHING in the link you've provided, that justifies this action. Lx 121 (talk) 04:39, 17 August 2015 (UTC)
Perhaps check out WP:IDHT. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 04:40, 17 August 2015 (UTC)
if you want to make out a case that my adding verifiable, referenced material to an article, then protesting its inapropriate remove constitutes "disruptive editing, then BRING IT ON. if you can win that one, before a full & complete review process, i shall walk away from wikipedia & never return. ^__^ Lx 121 (talk) 04:47, 17 August 2015 (UTC)

Everything with "opinion" in the url, Yahoo!Answers, Wordpress, and FreeThoughtBlogs are not reliable sources. And you are incorrect about CON and BRD. This won't end well if you insist on IDHT... You've been here long enough to know how things work. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 04:48, 17 August 2015 (UTC)
yes i have; you really wanna do a idht over this? let's do it! if this is where wikipedia is really at, i don't need to be here anymore :)
& are you then conceding that the other references are legit? because clearly then, they need to be re-added.
also, why do you keep "boxing" my references?
Lx 121 (talk) 04:55, 17 August 2015 (UTC)

Please be a little more careful with your edits

With regards to your two most recent edits, [1] and [2], please be a little more careful. In both edits, you inserted characters at the start of a line that prior to your edit contained Wiki markup for section headers. The insertions have the effect of breaking the markup and eliminating the affected sections. While these edits appear to be innocent mistakes, continuing to make these same type of insertions after receiving this message could be seen as disruptive efforts. --Allen3 talk 14:23, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

Fat Acceptance article

I recently made changes to the Fat Acceptance article, which you incorrectly reverted back. My source for these changes is a YouTube video created by Marianne Kirby and Lesley Kinzel, in which they specifically mention that this information is incorrect. Marianne Kirby is from The Rotund, and Lesley Kinzel is from Fatshionista. You can also see this by going to www.fatshionista.com, which will redirect you to blog.twowholecakes.com, where you will see that Two Whole Cakes is written by Lesley Kinzel, and was "previously fatshionista.com". As for Marianne Kirby, if you go to www.therotund.com, you will be redirected to www.mariannekirby.com, which shows that Marianne Kirby is The Rotund. I'll make these changes again, but if you have any questions or comments about this info, post it here and I will check back. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.146.205.47 (talk) 00:53, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

Message from Jennifer @ Jen's Tiny Toys

I recently submitted my content to help build wikipedia's YorkiPoo page. I am an expert in the field and thus referenced my website as the source. You removed my reference and cited a conflict of interest in the subject matter. I followed the naming convention rules with my username and it is my content so I'm not seeing why I should not receive credit and be allowed to reference my site as the source. I have noticed many many pages on wikipedia in which an expert in the field references back to their website...for instance nearly all the references on this page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-directed_IRA refer back to companies that sell Self-Directed IRA services. Please help me to understand why I can not site my website as the source of the information I have shared on Wikipedia. Thank you. Jennifer at Jen's Tiny Toys (talk) 18:11, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

Yes, I'm sure. I received a message from EF stating a conflict of interest as the reason. They removed the reference citing the source of the information and yet kept the content and edits. I'm not understanding how they keep my content and yet won't allow me to have credit for it...can you help? @Jennifer at Jen's Tiny Toys: Some confusion here. I did post a welcome on your talk page that detailed how to handle conflicts of interest. I did not remove anything from your edits though. Mean as custard did that. Regardless, information on Wikipedia must be back by reliable sources and the expertise of user cannot be relied upon. In general, it is frowned upon to add content which might benefit the editor directly or indirectly, such as linking to your own website. That creates a conflict of interest and my appear promotional in nature. I recommend you either start a discussion on that article's talk page or ask a question at the Tea House. I'll send an invite to the Tea House in a moment. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 18:53, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

I have deleted my content entirely. I don't mind rules as long as everyone has to play by them. Please have your editors clean up the references on this page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-directed_IRA They are definitely conflicts of interest meant to benefit themselves. Thank you. Regina Mills/Once Upon A Time

Hi, I notice this keeps getting changed, and I don't mean to sound like I am attacking you, but I'm not sure if you know.

Adam Horowitz, the writer of Once Upon A Time has confirmed numerous times that what does not air on the show, is not canon. Kristen, the actress who said about the relationship, can only speculate. Actors/Actresses do this all the time, and Adam is always reminding people that they do this. Kristen's answer is not canon, as it has never aired on the show, or confirmed by Adam.

There has been no canon proof that has aired or been written by Adam and his team of writers to suggest that Maleficent and Regina Mills are bisexual. Until furhter confirmation, they should not be listed on the page. There is no evidence to back this up, other than an actress giving an answer, which is not considered canon because it hasn't aired. Adam is constantly reminding people on his twitter that Lana's answers are purely speculation and the same goes for Kristen.

It is not correct to list Regina/Maleficent on this list without actual proof from the writers or show itself. It gives false hope to people who want her to be listed in this category, and it misleads viewers.

Sorry, I'm not trying to sound harsh, but having been told by Adam myself that actors/actreses answers are purely speculation and not canon, Regina being listed on this list is not correct, as it has never been aired, or Adam say it himself. Until further confirmation, she and Maleficent should not be listed.

If you want to keep them listed, then that's fine, but it's proven that this actually occured and that actor's answers don't always match the canon storyline. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 101.186.23.72 (talk) 08:23, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

MOS:IDENTITY is being revisited: How should Wikipedia refer to transgender individuals before and after their transition?

You are being contacted because you contributed to a recent discussion of MOS:IDENTITY that closed with the recommendation that Wikipedia's policy on transgender individuals be revisited.

Two threads have been opened at the Village Pump:Policy. The first addresses how the Manual of Style should instruct editors to refer to transgender people in articles about themselves (which name, which pronoun, etc.). The second addresses how to instruct editors to refer to transgender people when they are mentioned in passing in other articles. Your participation is welcome. I just deleted this article (as it had been deleted before). Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Thanks

I am here just to thank you for everything you've done around here. My first signed in edit ever was actually an edit to your talkpage. Diff: [3] Although we maybe didn't begin with the most friendly start, I am very grateful for your help on Wikipedia. Thanks π♂101 (talk) 14:34, 25 November 2015 (UTC)

Message from kitplane01

I'm confused. Why do you think I'm the one in the edit war. I keep revising my edit to answer criticism, and you just revert it. From my point of view, you're the one not engaging in dialog.

Do you really think that cultural appropriation is not controversial? The New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Huffington Post do. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kitplane01 (talkcontribs) 04:31, 3 December 2015 (UTC)

@Kitplane01: You restored reverted content 4 times. That's a violation of WP:3RR and is considered edit warring. Two editors have reverted you already. I even started a discussion section. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 04:34, 3 December 2015 (UTC)

No I really have not. I've changed my edit several times to improve and answer criticisms. Attempting to improve an edit so that it will be accepted to appropriate behavior. Filing a complaint was inappropriate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kitplane01 (talkcontribs) 04:49, 3 December 2015 (UTC)

Please stop vandalizing my good faith edits

Hi sir, I am just trying to make Wikipedia better. Please don't touch my edits without prior authorization on my part.--74.58.27.35 (talk) 02:07, 6 December 2015 (UTC)

That's not how this works. Stop adding it. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 02:11, 6 December 2015 (UTC)

Transgender

Hello, as you can tell I am new to this world. I was thinking about making an edit to the transgender article under the LGBT section that discussed the disconnect between the HRC and trans community. Would you be willing to give me feedback on a small edit? I also apologize for one of my classmates who has been disrespectful on the transgender talk page, we have had several arguments about it in class. Your revert to Dave Franco's page and the message:

does not make sense to me. I corrected Neighbors to Bad Neighbours. I see that you also marked my edit as vandalism. That, sir, is is not. Please follow the link for clarification. http://images.entertainment.ie/images_content/rectangle/620x372/badneighbors620372.jpg --Hendrikvanpretoria (talk) 20:47, 10 December 2015 (UTC)

Bad Girls Club

You seem to frequent Bad Girls Club season articles so I just thought I'd let you know, in case you haven't noticed, that I've just reverted multiple edits in several articles by A portah29, who has been removing content and faking ratings figures as well as making generally nonconstructive edits, all without any explanation. --AussieLegend () 10:42, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

AussieLegend thanks for letting me know. I've had my eye on them and they make a mix of good and bad edits. I'll review your reverts. I'm guessing that they're due for an aiv filing though. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 03:16, 11 December 2015 (UTC)

Twinkle Test - December 2015

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Caitlyn Jenner. Per the Manual of Style, Wikipedia gives precedence to gender self-identification as reported by reliable sources. This includes the use of appropriate pronouns corresponding to the identity (e.g., transwomen typically use she/her and transmen typically use he/him). Your edits were counter to the Manual of Style and have been reverted or removed. Repeated vandalism like this can result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. @Strongjam: Lol I was testing a custom template using Twinkle (User:EvergreenFir/trans). I copy-pasted the stuff from the level-two vandalism warning and customized it, so I wanted to make sure it worked properly. And it did! EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 16:09, 22 December 2015 (UTC)

Hello.

The part I typed up in "Yaoi" was

Artworks

Through social media, artists draw Gay fantasies of their own Original character[112] or other people's fantasies digitally and post it online on social media or as a commission (post online or send directly as print). Art works are usually posted on worldly used multimedia platform with Tumblr and DeviantArt being the popular ones. Redistributed artworks are posted on website types like Rule 34 and 4chan where people can view artworks of different categories.

Fanart

Artworks created by fans of a particular series in fiction. (For more information about fanart, look at Fanart)

Fan created artworks are based on series in fiction where characters are stylized in the fan's art style erotically. Fans may also including different characters from different series together sexually in where they are dubbed 'shipped[113]""

You reverted it because it had no reference whatsoever. I understand that, but I don't know what information to cite it with. The information for this cannot be found in books or magazines and such. With websites, there is a chance, but that would mean to promote someone by linking their Tumblr or DeviantArt profile just for reference usage. The only source that can be found is the fact from a person who actually specialises in this area.

I am new to Wikipedia in editing. I am a digital artist and I do erotic yaoi artworks.

I don't know how else to cite it without promoting someone. Would it be okay If I *do* link the citing websites from other yaoi artists?

Re: "Legally necessary"

"Legally necessary" means that it is in the standard include a feature in the table; on that my edit, the story writers are taken from the TV presentation for every episode. Luigi1090 (talk) 20:51, 29 December 2015 (UTC)

@Luigi1090: There are many options we don't use in those tables and a lot of info in the episode credits we do not include. I'm not sure what your point is. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 00:17, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
@EvergreenFir: My points are two, which:
  • Story writers: in some animated series, the "production" decides to include in the TV introduction of an episode to represent as a fulcrum;
  • Storyboard artists: putting aside writers and directors, an animated series is totally different from a live-action series. This because the former is fiction work and the storyboardes are the key to its development and operation, while the latter is based only on reality.

Happy New Year, EvergreenFir!

partially reverted your edit of 0.999...

In your 5 April 2015 edit of 0.999... using AutoWikiBrowser, you changed the right-closed interval (−∞, d ] to the right-open interval (−∞, d ), thus making the "principal cut" in Richman's "cut D" indistinguishable from a "nonprincipal Dedekind cut". That part of the edit seemed incautious so I reverted it and added some nowiki tags, hoping that those might stop AWB from suggesting such changes to other editors. You may want to check if you've made similar edits to interval notation in other articles. 2001:14BB:110:CEB:69AF:FACB:36EB:E5EE (talk) 00:00, 6 January 2016 (UTC)
