New York Athletic Club article
The Mercury Cup section makes no sense. No other sport at NYAC has a section for every single in-house tournament. (The Mercury Cups were a tiny competition; there is no need to catalogue the results outside of [1]AskFRED.)
Are we to expect the Fall Classic squash tournament to be included as a section as well? What about the results of the Athlete's Fund golf tournament? It makes absolutely no sense to have this irrelevant (and outdated) section. 2603:7000:3AF0:8450:C145:919:AA8E:E024 (talk) 06:11, 13 January 2024 (UTC)
- That's fine. I probably agree with you. But your edit removed a large amount of content and the edit summary left little explanation. In the future, please explain your edit and, if it is removing a particularly large amount of content or may be controversial, leave a comment on the talk page first. Frank Abagnale -- Iona Prep Alumni
Hi there, You reverted my removal of Frank Abagnale from the alumni list for Iona Prep, citing the inline citation from "Talk of the Sound". Wikipedia's own article on Abagnale seems to disagree with you, stating that he claimed to have gone there on multiple occasions, but that he never made an appearance in the yearbook nor was remembered by other Iona Prep alumni. I trust the source cited by the article for Abagnale more than a local news site taking the claims of a prolific fraudster at face value. Maybe Abagnale could be kept on the alumni list, but with the clarification that no evidence has ever emerged of his attendance there? Theodore Christopher (talk) 17:40, 4 June 2024 (UTC)

Thank you today for John D. Whitney, "about an American university president and Jesuit who had a fascinating life story. Your revert of my edit on John D. Whitney
Hello! I believe that edit I made was perfectly valid. The wikilinks that I removed were repeated wikilinks, and I don't believe they were constructive. Suo Edits (talk) 18:48, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
- They were the first instance of those links in the body of the text. The only other location they were linked was in the lead, which, for most of them, was many paragraphs prior. It is common practice on articles that aren't very short to wikilink the first instance of articles after the lead. Ergo Sum 01:45, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
