Wilhelmina Will has given you some caramel and a candy apple! Caramel and candy-coated apples are fun Halloween treats, and promote WikiLove on Halloween. Hopefully these have made your Halloween (and the proceeding days) much sweeter. Happy Halloween!

GOCE November 2012 copy edit drive update

[edit]
Guild of Copy Editors November 2012 backlog elimination drive mid-drive newsletter

  • Participation: Out of 31 people signed up for this drive so far, 22 have copy-edited at least one article. If you've signed up but haven't yet copy-edited any articles, every bit helps; if you haven't signed up yet, it's not too late. Join us!
  • Progress report: We're on track to meet our targets for the drive. We have reduced our target group of articles—November and December 2011—by over 50%, and 34 of the the 56 requests made in September and October this year have already been fulfilled. However, the rate of tagging for copy edit has increased, and this month we are just keeping the size of the backlog stable. So, all you copy editors, please do come along and help us!
  • The September 2012 Copy Edit of the Month Contest was won by Baffle gab1978 for his copy edit of Expulsion of the Acadians. Runner up was Gareth Griffith-Jones for his edit of I Could Fall in Love. Congratulations to both.
  • The October 2012 Copy Edit of the Month Contest is in the discussion and voting stage until midnight November 30 (UTC). You don't have to make a submission to vote!
  • November 2012 Copy Edit of the Month Contest is in the submissions stage until midnight November 30 (UTC), when discussion and voting begin.
  • Seasonal oversight: We had a slight fall from grace in the title of our last newletter, which mentioned the season in the northern hemisphere and thus got it wrong for the southern. Fortunately an observant GOCE member was ready to spring into action to advise us. Thanks! In future we'll stay meteorologically neutral.

WikiProject Wikify: November Newsletter and December Drive

[edit]
Delivered by EdwardsBot (talk) on behalf of WikiProject Wikify, 22:39, 28 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Articles for creation is desperately short of reviewers! We are looking for urgent help, from experienced editors, in reviewing submissions in the pending submissions queue. Currently there are 1841 submissions waiting to be reviewed and many help requests at our help desk.

Do you have what it takes?
  1. Are you familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines?
  2. Do you know what Wikipedia is and is not?
  3. Do you have a working knowledge of the Manual of Style, particularly article naming conventions?
  4. Can you review submissions based on their individual merits?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then please read the reviewing instructions and donate a little of your time to helping tackle the backlog. You might wish to add {{AFC status}} or {{AfC Defcon}} to your userpage, which will alert you to the number of open submissions. Plus, reviewing is easy when you use our new semi-automated reviewing script!
Thanks in advance, Nathan2055talk - contribs

Recent close at DRN

[edit]

Hi, you recently closed Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution_noticeboard#Jat_people, a thread that appears to have had unrelated matters appended to it due to a poor filing. The instigator of the Jat thread is unlikely to be impressed by being compared to Runtshit. They also seems to be fairly confused and not great with the English language, meaning that they may not realise why that errant comparison has been made. Can it be fixed? I try to keep well away from DRN because it is too messy for my liking, and I'm certainly not going to try to fix your efforts & then get told off by someone for doing so! - Sitush (talk) 22:08, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I just removed it, nothing much. ~~Ebe123~~ → report 22:24, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, aside from the fact that your statement still says that there has been no discussion at Talk:Jat when in fact there has been ... I think we're talking at cross-purposes here: there are two threads going on under the "Jat" section at DRN. The topmost is indeed about the Jat dispute; the stuff below my response to that appears to be a completely unrelated filing regarding some other article & it has not been correctly formed. Your header comment is ambiguous at best. I couldn't care less because the DRN process has never yet seemed to be helpful for Indic stuff & the sooner issues that are raised there become closed, the better. Nonetheless, the currently-blocked instigator of the Jat thread is not likely to be happy that they've been accused of not talking. They did, after all, initiate a discussion at Talk:Jat people around 24-36 hours ago. - Sitush (talk) 23:19, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, there has been some discussion on the talk page, but it was not substansive, just 1 (your reply) then another section gets opened, with 1 response, so I don't call that a discussion, just a answer. I know there has been another tread. I closed the first thread as the comment from the proposer was "

Sitush is abusing his admin powers. Choses to revert w/o any explanation.

The 4 diff URL quoted in the 1st line are from the work of a single author. Yet, when I provide multiple sources (6 Diff URL's) to substantiate my claims, he reverts to the old one w/o any balance." and he was blocked.

GOCE November drive wrap-up

[edit]
Guild of Copy Editors November 2012 backlog elimination drive wrap-up

Participation: Thanks to all who participated! Out of 38 people who signed up this drive, 33 copy-edited at least one article. Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here. All the barnstars have now been distributed.

Progress report: We achieved our primary goal of clearing November and December 2011 from the backlog. For the first time since the drives began, the backlog consists only of articles tagged in the current year. The total backlog at the end of the month was 2690 articles, down from 8323 when we started out over two years ago. We completed all 56 requests outstanding before November 2012 as well as eight of those made in November.

Copy Edit of the Month: Voting is now over for the October 2012 competition, and prizes have been issued. The November 2012 contest is closed for submissions and open for voting. The December 2012 contest is now open for submissions. Everyone is welcome to submit entries and to vote.

Coodinator election: The six-month term for our fourth tranche of Guild coordinators will expire at the end of December. Nominations are open for the fifth tranche of coordinators, who will serve from 1 January to 30 June 2013. For complete information, please have a look at the election page.

Opening a DR/N case

[edit]

You opened the case by commenting. Saying the case is not opened after you opened it does not revert the opening as the bot recognises you as a volunteer and automaticly opens the case. No, big deal, but in the future please do not comment on a case unless you intend to open it early for any particular reason.--Amadscientist (talk) 21:28, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I know what happens, and it's the bots fault. I think that the bot should not open a case. I am disregarding this message. ~~Ebe123~~ → report 21:37, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

End of Year Events from the Guild of Copy Editors

The Guild of Copy Editors invites you to participate in its events:

  • The December 2012 Copy Edit of the Month Contest is currently in the submissions stage. Submit your best December copy edit there before the end of the month. Submissions end, and discussion and voting begin, on January 1 at 00:00 (UTC).
  • Voting is in progress for the November 2012 Copy Edit of the Month Contest. Everyone is welcome to vote, whether they have entered the contest or not.
  • From Sunday 16 December to Saturday 22 December, we are holding a Project Blitz, in which we will copy edit articles tagged with {{copyedit}} from January 2012. The blitz works much like our bimonthly drives, but a bit simpler. Everyone is welcome to take part, and barnstars will be awarded.
  • January 2013 Backlog elimination drive is a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy edit backlog. The drive begins on January 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and ends on January 31 at 23:59 (UTC). Our goals are to copy edit all articles tagged in January, February, and March 2012 and complete all requests placed before the end of 2012. Barnstars will be awarded to anyone who copy edits at least one article, and special awards will be given to the top five in the following categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", "Number of articles of over 5,000 words", "Number of articles tagged in January, February, and March 2012", and "Longest article". We hope to see you there! – Your drive coordinators: Stfg, Allens, and Torchiest.

Coodinator election: Nominations are open for candidates to serve as GOCE coordinators from 1 January to 30 June 2013. Nominations close on December 15 at 23:59 UTC, after which voting will run until the end of December. For complete information, please have a look at the election page.

DRN

[edit]

Hey, Ebe, I did this because it was messing up the TOC (I said the bot in the edit summary, but I meant the TOC). Do you think the listing editor had a chance to see it before it was pulled off to a subpage? I'm not objecting, I'm just not sure what you were trying to do. Feel free to rv me or give it another try, as I may not be back online until Tuesday. Best regards, TransporterMan (TALK) 03:26, 13 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It was to show how cases should be handled; 1 section for open discussions and another for closed threads, and the syntax on the subpages. Yes, it did break the TOC, although I was planning on removing it for favor of the cases table. It should not break DRN when the bot and form are updated. I choose a closed request as there is not supposed to have any more comments and the case was still visible but collapsed twice. ~~Ebe123~~ → report 13:20, 13 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Another one...

[edit]

Could you take a look at this: Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution_noticeboard#Henry_K._Van_Rensselaer_.28historically.29_Henry_van_Rensselaer_.28disambiguation.29_.28currently.29.2C ? This is the third time JGVR posts aomething at the board. In this case I wasn't aware there was any dispute, and anyway, it's nonsense. I really don't know what he wants now, and I certainly won't engage in any discussion with this person (or persons). Kraxler (talk) 00:30, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

After I left you the above message, I saw the discussion at Talk:Henry van Rensselaer (disambiguation), and added a statement. Nevertheless, the notice at DRN is as nonsensical as the two previous ones. Apparently, JGVR can not understand what the MoS and other editors are telling him, which is the reason I refuse to "debate" with him. Kraxler (talk) 01:13, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Wikipedia Adventure: Text Mockup (feedback welcome!)

[edit]

Hi TWA folks!

It's been a long time since we worked on The Wikipedia Adventure together, but this spring I proposed the game for an Individual Engagement Grant and it was accepted :)

I spent the last two months refining the script and getting ready to build the game using Guided tours. I am working with an amazing designer and getting expert curation tips from the Grant program leader.

Here is the full 7-mission text version of the game: http://jatspan.org/twa2.html#29

I'd love to have your feedback on it, before I get started with the build. I would love it if you would leave any thoughts, tips, comments, recommendations, suggestions, ideas, or concerns, at WP:TWA/Feedback.

Hope you're doing great,

Hi there Ebe123! I've noticed you have yourself listed as a member of the Food and Drink Wikiproject. Unfortunately it looks like the project has been slowly sliding into inactivity except for a couple of people. That makes me a sad potato, and nobody likes a sad potato amirite?

If you'd like to turn my frown upside down, can you do two small things?

First off, go here and add {{Tick}} (checkY) next to your name if you're still part of the project.

Second, go to the project talkpage and participate in a discussion about how to make the project more active, and how to go about making articles in our area of interest a lot better.

You don't want to make me cry, do you? Potatoes have a lot of eyes you know. So come on, join in! :)

WikiProject Good Articles Recruitment Centre

[edit]
Hello! Now, some of you might have already received a similar message a little while ago regarding the Recruitment Centre, so if you have, there is no need to read the rest of this. This message is directed to users who have reviewed between 12-14 Good article nominations and are not part of WikiProject Good articles (the initial messages I sent out went to only WikiProject members and users that had over 15 reviews).

So for those who haven't heard about the Recruitment Centre yet, you may be wondering why there is a Good article icon with a bunch of stars around it (to the right). The answer? WikiProject Good articles will be launching a Recruitment Centre very soon! The centre will allow all users to be taught how to review Good article nominations by experts just like you! However, in order for the Recruitment Centre to open in the first place, we need some volunteers:

  • Recruiters: The main task of a recruiter is to teach users that have never reviewed a Good article nomination how to review one. To become a recruiter, all you have to do is meet this criteria. Now, one of the most important criteria is that you have at least 15 independent reviews. If you are reading this, you are likely 3 (or less) reviews short, so if you review another couple nominations, you can become a recruiter! If interested, make sure you meet the criteria, read the process and add your name to the list of recruiters. (One of the great things about being a recruiter is that there is no set requirement of what must be taught and when. Instead, all the content found in the process section is a guideline of the main points that should be addressed during a recruitment session...you can also take an entire different approach if you wish!) If you think you will not have the time to recruit any users at this time but are still interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still add your name to the list of recruiters but just fill in the "Status" parameter with "Not Available".

NOTE: If you are interested in becoming a recruiter but do not meet the 15 review requirement, you can still add your name to the list of recruiters and put your status as "Not Available" until you have reviewed enough nominations.

  • Nominators, please read this: If you are not interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still help. In some cases a nominator may have an issue with an "inexperienced" editor (the recruitee) reviewing one of their nominations. To minimize the chances of this happening, if you are fine with a recruitee reviewing one of your nominations under the supervision of the recruiter, please add your name to the list at the bottom of this page. By adding your name to this list, chances are that your nomination will be reviewed more quickly as the recruitee will be asked to choose a nomination from the list of nominators that are OK with them reviewing the article.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing this program bring new reviewers to the Good article community and all the positive things it will bring along.

A message will be sent out to all recruiters regarding the date when the Recruitment Centre will open when it is determined. The message will also contain some further details to clarify things that may be a bit confusing.--Dom497 (talk)

Help with vandalism

[edit]

Dear Ebe123, I saw you are a member of the Abuse response team and I was wondering if you could help me with a minor issue regarding the Mamonas Assassinas article. It is a Brazilian band that died on a plane crash in the 90s, and an user (just IP address) has been making edits of bad taste. One of the things he/she said was that the band died due to 'due to a miracle of God, nature and science.' I believe this to be inappropriate but I reverted the edit once and the user reverted it back. I don't want to cause conflicts, can you help me? Thank you very much! Cheers, Zalunardo8 (talk) 11:48, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The IP seems to have stopped for now. He seems to be in bad faith and I gave him a warning. ~~Ebe123~~ → report 14:14, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Wikipedia Library now offering accounts from Cochrane Collaboration (sign up!)

[edit]

Cochrane Collaboration is an independent medical nonprofit organization consisting of over 28,000 volunteers in more than 100 countries. The collaboration was formed to organize medical scholarship in a systematic way in the interests of evidence-based research: the group conducts systematic reviews of randomized controlled trials of health-care interventions, which it then publishes in the Cochrane Library.

Cochrane has generously agreed to give free, full-access accounts to 100 medical editors. Individual access would otherwise cost between $300 and $800 per account. Thank you Cochrane!

If you are stil active as a medical editor, come and sign up :)

Request to take part in a survey

[edit]

Hi there. I would very much appreciate it if you could spend ~2 minutes and take a short survey - a project trying to understand why the most active Wikipedia contributors (such as yourself) may reduce their activity, or retire. I sent you an email with details, if you did not get it please send me a wikiemail, so that I can send you an email with the survey questions. I would very much appreciate your cooperation, as you are among the most active Wikipedia editors who show a pattern of reduced activity, and thus your response would be extremely valuable. Thanks! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 11:56, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

GOCE July 2013 news report

[edit]
Guild of Copy Editors July 2013 backlog elimination drive mid-drive newsletter
  • Participation: Out of 30 people who have signed up for this drive so far, 18 have participated. If you have signed up for the drive but have not yet participated, it isn't too late. If you haven't signed up for the drive, sign up now!
  • Progress report: Thus far we have reduced the number of May/June 2012 articles to just 124 articles, so we're on the right track. Unfortunately, for the first time in GOCE history, the number of articles in the backlog has actually gone up during this drive. While all participants are currently doing a fine job, we just don't have as many of them as we have had in the past. We have over 500 editors on our mailing list, but only 18 editors who have done a copy edit for the drive. If you're receiving this newsletter, it's because you have an interest in copy editing. Join the drive! Even if you only copy edit one article, it helps. Imagine how much progress we could make if everyone chipped in just one article.

Hi Ebe123, how are you? You'll have noticed and I hope you don't mind that I just edited your subpage User:Ebe123/F1 Vandal. Unfortunately this is because I think we have a reappearance of the same person or entity that we dealt with last year and I wanted to keep all the info in one place. I have notified User:Scottywong per last time, so perhaps they can adjust the filter, but as they are now semi-retired we may not see anything. I'll keep you informed. Bye for now. How you can help even more!
(and for which there may or may not be a super secret second extreme helper barnstar)
  • Start over fresh with a new account: Like User:OcaasiTWA17 (these are legitimate alternate testing accounts and are not considered sockpuppets)
  • Finish the game: Give some attention to missions 5-7 (which have been tested much less)
  • Try a different browser: If you used Safari, try Firefox (or Chrome, Internet Explorer, Opera...)
  • Show the game to a friend or family member to see how they like it and if they get stuck anywhere

I would like some advise on how to deal with this issue that I am having with a suer whom you may be able to see that I have had to unfortunately revert many times. However for some reason, as I uploaded the content on my user page, that is when his disruptive edits and wikihounding escalated. I just left a message on his wall, but his wall is full of other people having similar issues. Sajjad Alta is the name.

User:Ebe123Hiya! I just created a page and I was wondering if you would like to check it over for me. Two heads are better than one! --IBCPirates (talk) 22:31, 28 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, IBCPirates! I don't think your new page is notable and thus have it's own article. (Assuming you're talking about John F. Ryan Elementary School) ~~Ebe123~~ → report 23:16, 28 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Could I have your reasons on why it shouldn't be an article? (I hope I don't sound mean, I'm just curious, so in the nicest way possible.) --IBCPirates (talk) 00:06, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't seem notable as it is a small elementary school (2 grades), and without significant coverage (Google search results). My opinion is that there is great detail about nothing, such as a trivial "scandal" or how a pupil goes class-to-class. The article is original research, of which is not allowed on Wikipedia. It is good to write about a topic of which you are knowlegeable, but not a "insider" as unnecessary details are added. Hope this answers you well and nicely. ~~Ebe123~~ → report 01:22, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

So if I deleted so-called unnecessary details, and added more facts about the history of the school, notable students and information about available events, would you think that it would be more notable? (When I said "in the nicest way possible," I was talking about me, trying not to speak rude to you, not you being rude to me the other way around. XD)--IBCPirates (talk) 19:23, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Notabillity isn't about excess details. Notability is having coverage about the school other than the school website or "rate your teacher"-type sites (we want reliable, secondary sources) ~~Ebe123~~ → report 21:08, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This isn't rate your teacher! I don't go to this school! I never did! I thought it would be a notable event to write about because of all the things going on there! And that's why I asked about the history of the school, notable students and information about available events, because I thought that they would be better. --IBCPirates (talk) 21:36, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you can write about the history, notable students, etc. but have good references. I don't think the school is notable as a Google search of the school gave me no good reliable source. Mostly the "rate-the-school"-type sites of which aren't really reliable. ~~Ebe123~~ → report 22:56, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

So basically I just need to find reliable sources for it, which is going to be hard, because you and I have searched and the only reliable source is the official website. Would you say classroom websites would be reliable, because I'm thinking no. →→IBCPirates (talk) 22:59, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean "classroom websites"? ~~Ebe123~~ → report 00:48, 30 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Classroom websites such as these. http://www.tewksbury.k12.ma.us/webpages/bgorham/, http://www.tewksbury.k12.ma.us/webpages/mchan/, http://www.tewksbury.k12.ma.us/webpages/jdavis/ --IBCPirates (talk) 17:00, 14 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

They aren't reliable as they are WP:Primary sources. ~~Ebe123~~ → report 00:43, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of BooksOnBoard

[edit]

The article BooksOnBoard has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

small, defunct shopping site

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Language-population update project

[edit]

Hi. The 18th edition of Ethnologue just came out, and if we divide up our language articles among us, it won't take long to update them. I would appreciate it if you could help out, even if it's just a few articles (5,000 articles is a lot for just me), but I won't be insulted if you delete this request.

A largely complete list of articles to be updated is at Category:Language articles citing Ethnologue 17. The priority articles are in Category:Language articles with old Ethnologue 17 speaker data. These are the 10% that have population figures at least 25 years old.

Probably 90% of the time, Ethnologue has not changed their figures between the 17th and 18th editions, so all we need to do is change "e17" to "e18" in the reference (ref) field of the language info box. That will change the citation for the artcle to the current edition. Please put the data in the proper fields, or the info box will flag it as needing editorial review. The other relevant fields are "speakers" (the number of native speakers in all countries), "date" (the date of the reference or census that Ethnologue uses, not the date of Ethnologue!), and sometimes "speakers2". Our convention has been to enter e.g. "1990 census" when a census is used, as other data can be much older than the publication date. Sometimes a citation elsewhere in the article depends on the e17 entry, in which case you will need to change "name=e17" to "name=e18" in the reference tag (assuming the 18th edition still supports the cited claim).

Remember, we want the *total* number of native speakers, which is often not the first figure given by Ethnologue. Sometimes the data is too incompatible to add together (e.g. a figure from the 1950s for one country, and a figure from 2006 for another), in which case it should be presented that way. That's one use for the "speakers2" field. If you're not sure, just ask, or skip that article.

Data should not be displayed with more than two, or at most three, significant figures. Sometimes it should be rounded off to just one significant figure, e.g. when some of the component data used by Ethnologue has been approximated with one figure (200,000, 3 million, etc.) and the other data has greater precision. For example, a figure of 200,000 for one country and 4,230 for another is really just 200,000 in total, as the 4,230 is within the margin of rounding off in the 200,000. If you want to retain the spurious precision of the number in Ethnologue, you might want to use the {{sigfig}} template. (First parameter in this template is for the data, second is for the number of figures to round it off to.)

Dates will often need to be a range of all the country data in the Ethnologue article. When entering the date range, I often ignore dates from countries that have only a few percent of the population, as often 10% or so of the population isn't even separately listed by Ethnologue and so is undated anyway.

If Ethnologue does not provide a date for the bulk of the population, just enter "no date" in the date field. But if the population figure is undated, and hasn't changed between the 17th & 18th editions of Ethnologue, please leave the ref field set to "e17", and maybe add a comment to keep it so that other editors don't change it. In cases like this, the edition of Ethnologue that the data first appeared in may be our only indication of how old it is. We still cite the 14th edition in a couple dozen articles, so our readers can see that the data is getting old.

The articles in the categories linked above are over 90% of the job. There are probably also articles that do not currently cite Ethnologue, but which we might want to update with the 18th edition. I'll need to generate another category to capture those, probably after most of the Ethnologue 17 citations are taken care of.

Jump in at the WP:LANG talk page if you have any comments or concerns. Thanks for any help you can give!

DRN help needed and volunteer roll call

[edit]

You are receiving this message because you have listed yourself on the list of volunteers at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard/Volunteering#List of the DRN volunteers.

First, assistance is needed at DRN. We have recently closed a number of cases without any services being provided for lack of a volunteer willing to take the case. There are at least three cases awaiting a volunteer at this moment. Please consider taking one.

Second, this is a volunteer roll call. If you remain interested in helping at DRN and are willing to actively do so by taking at least one case (and seeing it through) or helping with administrative matters at least once per calendar month, please add your name to this roll call list. Individuals currently on the principal volunteer list who do not add their name on the roll call list will be removed from the principal volunteer list after June 30, 2016 unless the DRN Coordinator chooses to retain their name for the best interest of DRN or the encyclopedia. Individuals whose names are removed after June 30, 2016, should feel free to re-add their names to the principal volunteer list, but are respectfully requested not to do so unless they are willing to take part at DRN at least one time per month as noted above. No one is going to be monitoring to see if you live up to that commitment, but we respectfully ask that you either live up to it or remove your name from the principal volunteer list.

Best regards, TransporterMan (TALK) 17:10, 12 April 2016 (UTC) (Current DRN coordinator) (Not watching this page)[reply]

Happy birthday!

Warm regards, Mz7 (talk) 18:27, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I see you nominated this page for speedy deletion years ago, and that it was declined though no new refs were subsequently added to the article. You likely no longer care (!) but I believe I have now (finally) established that this company is in fact a notable entity and have added a reference to the article as evidence of this. Five years is a long time to wait for someone to get around to handling this, but better late than never, right? Or so I hope. Anyhow, this message is nothing more than a follow-up. I am not an employee of the company and have no conflict of interest with regard to verifying its notability (feel free to review my edit history if you have any doubts). As one of the only manufacturers of coral snake antivenin, it seems to meet the notability threshold and is discussed in several places in this way (only one is given, but several others could be pulled in to verify this as well). Cheers! KDS4444 (talk) 14:31, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I sure forgot about it, but I was mistaken in calling it un-notable. I'm happy that there's someone taking up fixing old and forgotten articles. I see you are resolving the loose end of the creator's username too: Special:Diff/752482371! ~~Ebe123~~ → report 01:16, 3 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes! And likely wasting my time with that, but whatever, no? Sometimes I can't help myself from doing pointless bureaucratic stuff any more than I can help myself from fixing spelling mistakes that don't matter. But it feels good to do it anyway. And so I do. A tag has been placed on Template:Nn-warnChem requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an unambiguous misrepresentation of established policy.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. WikiProject Wikify: Current Backlog Reduction Plan

[edit]

Hey, I noticed you marked yourself as a member of WikiProject Wikify and you are currently listed as active. I was wondering if you would be able to assist with our current backlog reduction plan. While traditional drives are more structured month-long sprints by WikiProject Wikify members, there is currently lacking activity within the project and in order to significantly reduce the incredible backlog, members are encouraged to review all articles marked with the Underlinked Template Message - {{underlinked}} - a list of which can be found here - to analyze the worthiness of the template message on the given article. Articles that have nothing to link or are have had wikilinks sufficiently added should have the template removed to clear the backlog and make it easier for editors to find articles in genuine need of wikification. This can be done by any editor; however, all editors should consider joining if they haven't done so already. Thank you!
