ArbCom 2018 election voter message

[edit]

Hello, Ebe123. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Apple Inc.

[edit]

Hello Ebe123,

You've been identified either as a previous member of the project, an active editor on Apple related pages, a bearer of Apple related userboxes, or just a hoopy frood.

WikiProject Apple Inc. has unexpectedly quit, because an error type "unknown" occured. Editors must restart it! If you are interested, read the project page and sign up as a member. There's something for everyone to do, such as welcoming, sourcing, writing, copy editing, gnoming, proofreading, or feedback — but no pressure. Do what you do, but let's coordinate and stay in touch.

See the full welcome message on the talk page, or join the new IRC channel on irc.freenode.net named #wikipedia-en-appleinc connect. Please join, speak, and idle, and someone will read and reply.

Please spread the word, and join or unsubscribe at the subscription page.

Happy Earth Day!

Hello! Wishing you a Happy Earth day on the behalf of WikiProject Environment and WikiProject Ecology.

When man tries to fight nature, he invariably loses. Nature invariably wins. It is only when man is wise enough to live with nature that he really gets anywhere.

Hey, I'm a little new to wiki, I pretty good with the coding/editing pages and making them look the way they should, but aside from that I'm kinda hopeless, while reading the Interracial marriage wiki page I found it very odd and suspected abuse editing from many different users who I now believe to be sockpuppeting, I'm not sure what to do, I've so far tried debating in the talk page and talking with (Vamlos), I saw you were an Abuse response Volunteer and thought you could help, I know its early but I can already tell his not going to response to my request on his talk page, and if he doesn't response, what should I do? How long should I wait? What should be my next step? Thank you in advance -- Toby Mitches (talk) 12:28, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Adopt-a-user wizard. You are free to edit the content of Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user/wizard during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Special:WantedTemplates

[edit]

Hi! Would it be possible for you to add

/* <nowiki> */

to the top and

/* </nowiki> */

to the bottom of User:Ebe123/twinkleoptions.js? By putting these tags inside of javascript comments, it won't impact the functionality of your script, but it will keep the backend software from transcluding Template:Coding. You will know if the tags worked if Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Coding no longer shows your javascript page. By fixing these, we can keep the number of entries in Special:WantedTemplates to a minimum. Thank you in advance for your help! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 15:02, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Abuse Response

[edit]

Hi, I'm contacting you because you were listed as a participant in WP:Abuse response and seem to have been recently active on Wikipedia. I'm trying to get more information on the successfulness and problems related to the process and hoping you can give me some insight. Some things I'm specifically curious about are:

  • Are you aware of any attempts to contact anonymizing services such as VPN and proxy providers?
  • How successful were attempts to contact...
    • ISPs
    • Non-ISP range owners such as schools and businesses
    • Anonymizing services
  • Were you ever able to get an idea of the minimum amount of information and level of disruption needed for an organization to take a report seriously?
  • In your opinion, what issues were there with the process?
  • In your opinion, is there anything that could have been improved?

Feel free to include any additional information you'd like. PHANTOMTECH (talk) 20:57, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Wikipedians interested in element collecting indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! Invitation to participate in a research

[edit]

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team
