The GOCE October Copy Edit of the Month was a two stage event. Submissions for the contest ran from 00:00 on 1 October 2012 (UTC) until 23:59 on 31 October 2012 (UTC). All submissions were from copy edits that occur during the month of October. Voting on submissions ran from 00:00 on 1 November 2012 (UTC) until 23:59 on 30 November 2012 (UTC).

I'm voting for this one because I like the way Stfg has collaborated extensively with the c/e requester on the article's talk page to clarify the confusing language in the article. - Figuring out what was going on. I'm not very au fait with who's who in the Quintanilla family, and the whole business about the relationship between this album and the abandoned project was very confusing. - I think the most difficult aspect was removing the pro- and anti- Assad commentary peppered throughout the article, to make sure it was neutral. - A lot of the text seems to have been translated from another language edition, most likely Italian. While the translation was a lot more complete than a lot of translations in articles I've copyedited in the past, some parts were still very hard to understand. What I generally do in these situations is read a portion of the text over a couple of times, and think over what's being said. When I've got it, I reword it in a more intelligible fashion for those familiar with the English language. Sometimes if the text seems to be a lost cause, and does not appear to contribute anything crucial I will remove it altogether, or, in the case that it might be useful, I cover it up from view with a note saying that someone will have to look into it at a later time.
