Rollback
Hi DrowssapSMM. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle. It just adds a [Rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision - that's all. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the rights will be revoked.
- Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! FASTILY 22:57, 13 November 2023 (UTC)

Kathy Hochul
Thank you for reverting the vandalism on Hochul. However, this could have been wrapped up faster. The vandalism was WP:LTA frpm a sockpuppeter who waits for their targets to become unprotected, as Hochul's was. With that nature of a BLP violation, there's no reason to start with level-one vandalism warnings, let alone using level 2, level 3, and level 4. You can use a level 4 only warning for that, or if you recognize it as a LTA, you can go straight to reporting them to AIV. If they sock with multiple accounts, report the page to RFPP. – Muboshgu (talk) 00:49, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
- Jerium pointed out to me that you did send them to AIV, and I see in your contribution history that you did so as you gave them the level 1. So, nevermind that part then. It's an LTA sock, carry on reverting and reporting. – Muboshgu (talk) 01:06, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the LTA info. I had not come across any LTAs before then, so thank you for letting me know how to handle it. I also try to give proportional warnings, but I'm not sure if that is a feature with AntiVandal. DrowssapSMM (talk) (contributions) 01:44, 27 November 2023 (UTC)

AIV
Hi, I was going to drop you a {{uw-aiv}} but I see you ask not to be templated. Please be aware that—short of hate speech, libel, or other very serious issues—we won't block one-edit wonders at AIV. Generally, a vandal should have had some warning (ideally a "yes, that worked, please don't do it again" like a {{uw-v1}}, followed by a sterner "you're getting annoying now, knock it off" like a level 3 or 4) and only be reported if they ignore the warnings. Thanks, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:51, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

Tagging pages for speedy deletion
Hello, DrowssapSMM,
You'll find a speedier response to your CSD G6 taggings if you use Twinkle to do CSD G6>Move and put the URL of the page you want moved into the field. If you do this, then the page to be moved will be linked in the CSD tag so patrolling admins can check it out. Otherwise, they need to cut and paste the page title which just takes more time. Also, there is one link so the admin can move the draft and delete the main space redirect with one click rather doing separate deletion and later move actions. In my years patrolling CSD categories, I've just found that admins respond more promptly when you make the tagging more convenient. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 00:36, 14 December 2023 (UTC)

About your review of Draft:BBC Africa Eye
Hey DrowssapSMM, thanks for for conducting this review! In the future, when you see any outstanding issues like inappropriate external links in a draft, try to make sure they're removed or wrapped in <ref>...</ref>
tags before moving it into mainspace. At the very least, add a tag ({{External links}}, in this case) so other editors monitoring the maintenance categories will come around to clean it up. Let me know if you have any questions! —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 06:57, 14 December 2023 (UTC)

About your review of Draft:The case of Ong Mingwee
I disagree that my article contains original research and opinions. In my article, I have listed out both sides of the argument, opinions from people such as Members of Parliament and netizens, and did not pick any side. I already clearly stated that "Some called for XXX, while others believed YYY". I did not associate any opinion with myself. I used newspaper articles as my sources, which should qualify as reliable secondary sources. As such, I will resubmit the draft.--Sgassumeinnocent (talk) 15:23, 16 December 2023 (UTC)
Draft review
Hi. I saw you participate in AFCH so I think I can ask you advice on this article. Someone's rejected my submission after a few seconds, so I feel that no one appreciate my efforts. I want to create a few articles about exchanges, but even while first one got rejected without leaving any comment or suggestion I feel it has no sense... Antonio Vinzaretti (talk) 11:01, 19 December 2023 (UTC)
- That submission has already been deleted twice at AFD, so I would try and find more reliable sources. I am opinionated on the subject, so I will not accept or decline it. DrowssapSMM 11:13, 19 December 2023 (UTC)
- Regarding former AfD I discussed with David Gerard, because I met CSD G4 and I have no idea how can I check content before me. I just have no access or bad in searching? Let me know. Same with KuCoin (top10 as Bitget), WhiteBIT (ukrainian). How can even be sure that my version is different. New page reviewer granted
Hi DrowssapSMM. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group. Please check back at the permissions page in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page or ask via the NPP Discord. In addition, please remember:
- Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
- If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
- Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page, including checking for copyright violations using Earwig's copyright violation detector, checking for duplicate articles, and evaluating sources (both in the article, and if needed, via a Google search) for compliance with the general notability guideline.
- Please review some of our flowcharts (1, 2) to help ensure you don't forget any steps.
- Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies. Kent Plateau revert
I saw you just reverted an edit I made to Kent Plateau using the Wikipedia:Ultraviolet tool. The reverted edit copied public domain material from USGS, a U.S. government agency, "Keating Massif", Geographic Names Information System, United States Geological Survey, United States Department of the Interior. This information is also copied into Keating Massif, so you may have seen it as a cut-and-paste move. My next step would have been to change the stub Keating Massif to a redirect to Kent Plateau#Keating Massif. Aymatth2 (talk) 13:22, 21 December 2023 (UTC)

I edited a page involving an historical event of which I was a part, to which I was a witness. (I worked with ABC News, the FBI, and the U.S. Attorney to investigate and prosecute a cold case, Civil Rights era murder.) I knew the victim's family; I knew the murderer's family; my own family was involved; I initiated renewed interest in the un-punished murder, which had lain fallow for 30+ years. My research was used in ABC News, for whom I worked as a consultant, 20/20 segments about the murder, and by the U.S. Attorney to prosecute the murderer. The ABC News producer and U.S. Attorney are both sources that would confirm my contribution. I don't know how to provide "sources" for this information since I AM (one of) the sources. I think you approved the edits by 90.241.160.140 at T? I'm concerned that they may not be valid. Removing a letter form as "outdated" raises alarm bells. This editor is engaged in a campaign of unexplained similar deletions on many letters and has not (yet) responded to requests to use the talk page to explain. Did I miss something? Tagging pages for speedy deletion
Hello, DrowssapSMM,
If you want a speedier response to a request to delete a redirect and move an article, it would be best to use Twinkle, select CSD>G6 Move and put the name of the article/draft to be moved in the field. That way an admin patrolling has a link to the article that is to be moved so they can check it easily and if they agree with the request, they can move the article/draft and delete the redirect with one click. It goes much quicker. The way you have it set up now, the admin has to cut and paste the name of an article/draft to go look at it. It might sound minor but a lot of admins want to work swiftly and if you make things easier for them, they are less likely to pass on the request and go look at a different issue. Sometimes CSD requests can sit for hours or even days before being acted on if they can not be acted on quickly or if patrolling admins are unsure about the request. Just a tip. Thank you for your contributions. Liz Read! Talk! 03:16, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Adidas Top Ten
Hello DrowssapSMM. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Adidas Top Ten, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: @DrowssapSMM, Voorts, and LeDroider: Hi all. Looking at the history of the draft (A note here: the Draft:Adidas Top Ten&action=history link was disallowed due to some local or global title blacklist to do with "regex". I will leave this to the regexpeciallists to explain what means, as I am teh WP:CIR about that sort of stuff)
I can see no indication that "an AfC reviewer has determined that the draft is ready for acceptance". I may well have overlooked something here. Your thoughts about this? Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 09:15, 28 February 2024 (UTC). Thank you. Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 09:15, 28 February 2024 (UTC)

- Hi Drowssap. (For context: this is about Draft:Adidas Top Ten). You wrote: "I forgot to mark it as reviewed. I determined that it was, in fact, ready for acceptance". I confirm there is no deleted content that only administrators can see about that purported acceptance. Any editor can review that draft's page history and can see that you had at no time you described it as reviewed. Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 09:55, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
- I had clicked the accept button on the AFCH script, and put the speedy tag on the redirect because it was blocking acceptance. Having looked through the draft, I saw nothing wrong with it. I really need to remember to hit the "mark as under review" button lol DrowssapSMM 13:10, 29 February 2024 (UTC)

Guidance on Draft:Genius Group Limited
Hi @DrowssapSMM, thanks for your input! I fixed the external links. I'll adjust the advertisy language you mention - some of the products and services section can certainly be made more encyclopedic. Is there anything that you found especially problematic that will help me to edit? BarryLindt (talk) 20:42, 3 March 2024 (UTC)
- Looking back over the submission, it could probably use some better sourcing. There are a lot of sources, but most of them are either considered unreliable or primary sources, which are discouraged. Some more secondary sources like the Verge or ESPN would be very good. As for the advertisey language, I would read through the guidelines outlined at the "words to watch" subpage of the Manual of Style. Hope this helps. DrowssapSMM 03:32, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

Recent reversion of Khyber College of Dentistry
Hello, I wanted to talk about your recent reversion of [[Khyber College of Dentistry]. This page shouldn't have been reverted, reasons: Firstly, it redirects to a completely unrelated page, the page it redirects to is the exam conducting body, and it has almost nothing to do with the institution. I'm not sure why you reverted it to something completely inferior.
Secondly, there are hundreds of other wikipedia pages with zero references, which have not been removed, but this, with 3-4 references was removed?
Please reconsider this decision, as the page was providing some value, now it's completely useless. ExoField (talk) 07:38, 30 March 2024 (UTC)
- @ExoField: First of all, saying that "
there are hundreds of other wikipedia pages with zero references, which have not been removed, but this, with 3-4 references was removed?
" doesn't really help your argument per WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Just because other articles don't have sources doesn't mean that that article should stay as well. It only used primary sources, which do not count towards notability. Secondly, it does notredirect to a completely unrelated page
. As you said, itredirects to the exam conducting body
. That, by definition, is a related page. I agree that the page could provide some value, but not without reliable sources. DrowssapSMM 12:23, 30 March 2024 (UTC)- I understand, I added reliable sources to the page, please review. ExoField (talk) 08:59, 31 March 2024 (UTC)

Hello DrowssapSMM,
Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.
Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.
Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.
It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!
2023 Awards
Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!
WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.
Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.
Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.
Reminders:
- You can access live chat with patrollers on the New Pages Patrol Discord.
- Consider adding the project discussion page to your watchlist.

Recent editing related to Sukhoi Su-30MKI
Hi, I recently made a new edit in an article of Sukhoi Su-30MKI but I'm not able to add a citation there. I tried all the credible sources but Wikipedia is not letting me to add it. I don't know why is this happening. 2402:8100:386B:C358:AFE8:2503:664E:51D8 (talk) 14:10, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
AFC: translations lacking required attribution must be speedily declined
Hi, DrowssapSMM. Regarding your AFC approval of François Jackow as noted here (diff): please note that the Jackow article was translated from the French Wikipedia article François Jackow without any translation attribution, as required. Drafts such as this one which are translated from another language Wikipedia and lacking translation attribution as required by Wikimedia's Terms of Use must be speedily declined. You can provide the user a link to WP:CWW for general info about this in the decline notice, and to WP:RIA for how to repair the situation after the fact, so they can resubmit their draft after adding attribution. This was not explained properly in the AFC Reviewing instructions, and I have updated them to make it clearer. Going forward, please check the revision history of any article that looks like it might be a translation, and if there is no translation attribution statement, then it must be speedily declined. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 18:26, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
- Understood. DrowssapSMM 15:08, 27 April 2024 (UTC)

Scripts++ Newsletter – Issue 25
Hey there, welcome to the 25th issue of the Wikipedia Scripts++ Newsletter, covering all our favorite new and updated user scripts since 1 March 2024. We've got a ton of wonderful editors taking back their pitchforks today. Don't worry, for they come in peace, to forcibly fix and extend existing scripts you use with sheer passion. There's so many, them forks have got what's basically their own column now! gift us with some rows before it's too late Aaron Liu (talk) 04:01, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
Got anything good? Tell us about your new, improved, old, or messed-up script here!
- inline-diff-inline-patrol by Ponor is this edition's featured script. By loading diffs inline on every page that shows a list of changes, it implements the 2023 community wish m:Community Wishlist Survey 2023/Admins and patrollers/Inline diffs and inline patrol. Hopefully we won't need this script anymore soon, with the WMF's focus on the backlog...
- Many of our favorite scripts such as Fred Gandt/userResourceManager, Guarapiranga/search-shortcuts and Bradv/Superlinks haven't been updated for Vector 2022. You could be the one to change that!
- Elominius/media timer works, but its UI looks alien. Someone could improve it...
- To a lesser extent, the same goes for PrimeHunter/Search sort. I wish someone would integrate the sorts into the sort menu instead of adding 11 portlet links.
- We want...
- ...watchlist notices support for Aaron Liu/Watchlyst Greybar Unsin
- ...a tool to automatically fix CAT:BROKENREFs, preferably a fork/addition to TheJJJunk/ARA
- ...a fix/fork of DannyS712/SectionRemover to make it work
- Automatically delink all duplicate links within the same section per MOS:LINKONCE.
- Collapsible parentheses in body text, which had a ridiculously long original request title and was accidentally moved to WP:US/L by me. Oops!
- An easily configurable script to add a link to the #p-vector-user-menu-overflow portlet with a name, target, and icon. This one should be a relatively easier one. I would do it myself, but I'm too busy rotting away on Celeste (video game).
- Preview an edit under the mobile viewport on desktop, with perhaps MediaWiki:Gadget-mobile-sidebar.js used for inspiration.
- ...and many more, all available at Wikipedia:User scripts/Requests. Jeeputer and Nardog have been the most active on the page in the past five months.
- After the RIIJ update, Aaron Liu: Watchlyst Greybar Unsin has a dismiss button that allows you to mark an item as read in one click and cycle to the next Watchlist item.
- Lordseriouspig/StatusChangerImproved is just like Enterprisey's script, except you select your status from a dropdown instead of cycling through them with a button. The WMF operates out of car-centric infrastructure anyway. Shame!
- Aaron Liu has created Duplinks from Evad37/duplinks-alt; his fork adds a config variable to automatically highlight duplicate links on the loading of any page where the portlet link would've appeared.
- BilledMammal/Move+ expands the powers of User:TheTVExpert/rmCloser to include common procedures done with the art of moving pages.
- On a holiday? Somewhere? Gotta learn ye ABCs? CanonNi/StatusSetter puts the fun into Enterprisey/StatusChanger with a quadruple more statuses. That starts with a C!
- In our continuing trend(s?), DaxServer/DiscussionCloser forks DannyS712/DiscussionCloser to make it work. Sadly, this is the end of our lexicographic combo.
- Andrybak:
- user-tabs-on-contribs is a fork of User:Enterprisey/user-tabs-on-contribs for Vector 2022.
- Archiver is a fork of User:Enterprisey/archiver with automatic calculation of the destination archive subpage and with support for non-Vector skins.
- Quite coincidentally, Elli/OneClickArchiver has been forked from User:Equazcion/OneClickArchiver to work with the mw:Heading HTML changes.
- FlightTime/OneClickArchiver forks the same thing but also no longer nonsensically prepends {{clear}} to page archives.
- Aaron Liu: MoveTop adds a different padlock topicon for each level of move-protection.
- Andrybak/Not around can help you mark talk pages of inactive users with {{not around}}.
- BrandonXLF/AddCopied automatically tags talk pages of pages you've copied between with {{copied}}.
- Bugghost/UserRoleIndicator adds text labels (which default to emoji) to user links that label the user's usergroups. Wow, that's a mouthful
- CanonNi/AlertAssistant adds a Twinkle-style dialog for alerting users about contentious topics.
- CFA/AttributeTranslation automatically tags articles translated from other places with appropriate attribution.
- In the defense of the 'pedia, the humble Jeeputer/defconIndicator adds the WP:WIKIDEFCON status to the toolbar.
- Tired of staring at a bunch of filtering text and waiting for darn filter logs to load? Msz2001/AbuseFilter analyzer can parse abuse filters into a visual syntax tree and evaluate locally on-demand!
- Polygnotus/DuplicateReferences finds references with the same link and displays the number of them along with a button to add the {{duplicated citations}} tag under the references section. Being lazy has never been easier!
- fastest gun on the net Ponor/really-quick-block really quick add to contribution lists three buttons awesome
- TheTechie/Help Me Tool is a quick and easy way of responding to {{help me}} requests.
- Per MOS:CONFORM, ZKang123/TitleCaseConverter converts all citation titles to... title case, unfortunately.
