DYK review for Nude Nuns with Big Guns
Would you mind commenting again at the DYK review for Nude Nuns with Big Guns. The nominator has addressed your concerns. Best.4meter4 (talk) 05:14, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
- The article had been moved to prep by the time I was able to get to a laptop to comment. My objections remain but are not so strong as to prevent this article from its moment in the sun. - Dravecky (talk) 05:50, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
DYK for KWHW
On 5 May 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article KWHW, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Eddie Wilcoxen, morning show host on radio station KWHW, is the current Poet Laureate for the state of Oklahoma? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Orphaned non-free image File:KXDZ-FM logo.png
Thanks for uploading File:KXDZ-FM logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Courcelles 03:46, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

Facebook Virus
The article about the Facebook virus was speedily deleted, which is understandable as it was a very poorly-written, spammy article. The event itself, however, is I believe of note - there are no hard numbers yet, but all indications are that it was very widespread - it moved incredibly quickly, and Facebook took decisive action from the top (disabling newsfeeds, for example) to stop its spread. "Nicole Santos" was briefly trending #2 on Twitter worldwide. I've fleshed out the article on my user page, and plan on adding things as it grows - I suspect tech sites may start mentioning this as time progresses. At this point, it might not be quite worthy or re-instantiation, but especially if Facebook eventually makes a statement about it or it gets picked up elsewhere, it would be a useful reference to have, and have more notability. The title may or may not be appropriate (although it fulfills most definitions of both "virus" and "hack" - it was self-replicating code that invaded Facebook in unintended, malicious ways). --The Human Spellchecker (talk) 09:38, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

AfD: Cort Webber and Bobby "Fatboy" Roberts
This is a courtesy notice given your prior involvement with Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cort and Fatboy or its deletion review (Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2011 April 10) that these related articles are currently listed at AfD at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cort Webber. As attribution issues are involved, closure of this current AfD may result in the restoration of the earlier article, as a list of contributors would be necessary if the articles are retained. Query
Uncharted territory for me here, but thought you might have some views. My most recent DYK was deleted nearly in its entirety by a vandal, for two hours during the period in which it was on wikipedia's home page. See here My questions are: 1) is there a way for it to be re-listed on wp's home page for 2 hours? 2) Can that account, that was apparently created only to engage in that vandalism, be blocked (hopefully, with any related accounts)? Many thanks.--Epeefleche (talk) 03:46, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
- There's no simple mechanism for re-listing a DYK that's been on the front page, even if it was affected by vandalism. The length of time any article is featured that way is never guaranteed. As to the vandal, they've already been blocked indefinitely. - Dravecky (talk) 06:23, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
- Many thanks. Especially odious behavior -- smacks of someone creating the account for the sole purpose of doing mischief. We put in DYKs to incent editors to create new materials, and that sort of activity of course has a chilling effect, when so-timed. Tx for taking a look. Best.--Epeefleche (talk) 06:27, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
