Could you put the source of the material you place on WP please and add encyclopaedic information to the articles because they will probably be deleted if you don't. Thank you. Lincher 20:15, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

please check it out and now we can put our own category on our user pages! Category:MTV Generation Wikipedians Piecraft 14:32, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That would be fine, assuming that's from his official site; don't forget, though, to include the citation. Thanks. :) RadioKirk (u|t|c) 15:00, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject LGBT studies

[edit]

Hello! I noticed that your userpage mentions that you are interested in LGBT issues. Would you be interested in joining WikiProject LGBT studies? The WikiProject's been a bit inactive recently and some of us are trying to get it going again. We'd love to have you on board! Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 21:42, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely I'd like you to join! Maybe if your French is stronger than your English you could translate some good quality LGBT articles for us? Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 08:23, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Just go to the link above and add you name to the participants list. Then you're a member! We're working on implementing the assessment system at the moment, so you could help with that, or you can do some tasks on the to-do list, or if you are interested in translation, maybe you could translate any LGBT Featured Articles on the French Wikpedia? Anything you want to do is good! Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 10:22, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have just been looking at the French Featured Articles, and there aren't a lot, let alone LGBT related but one might be quite useful is Patrocle, or Patroclus. His article is fairly abysmal on here, and although I don't know the standards the French wiki uses, it's probably better than what we have at the moment. Why don't you try translating that? Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 16:46, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What I was thinking was that you translate the entire article into Wikipedia:WikiProject LGBT studies/Translation - that way, everyone can see what was there and we can have a consensus about what to put in in rather than one man deciding, if you see what I mean. Jeff has already done Oscar Wilde from the Dutch, so you might want to use his example. Obviously, if you don't want to do this, or think it too much effort, you are welcome to simply add what you like from the French article. Anything you can contribute is good. :) Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 07:52, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to List of GayVN Awards nominations. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites (http://www.gayvnawards.com/index.php?center=nominees in this case) or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:List of GayVN Awards nominations with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article Talk page. Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at Talk:List of GayVN Awards nominations with a link to the details.

Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own words to avoid any copyright infringement. After you do so, you should place a {{hangon}} tag on the article page and leave a note at Talk:List of GayVN Awards nominations saying you have done so. An administrator will review the new content before taking action.

It is also important that all Wikipedia articles have an encyclopedic tone and follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Your original contributions are welcome.

A tag has been placed on L'an 2005 (album), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -Panser Born- (talk) 10:18, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Disco Inferno (Dalida reload-process), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Goochelaar (talk) 17:19, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Gay Quarter of Quebec City. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gay Quarter of Quebec City. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:09, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Loves Pride 2014

[edit]

Hi DaliJim. In case you are not aware, there is an upcoming campaign to improve coverage of LGBT-related topics on Wikipedia, culminating with an international edit-a-thon on June 21. See Wiki Loves Pride 2014 for more information. If you are interested, you might consider creating a page for a major city (or cities!) near you, with a list of LGBT-related articles that need to be created or improved. This would be a tremendous help to Wikipedia and coverage of LGBT culture and history. Thanks for your consideration, and please let me know if you have any questions! --Another Believer (Talk) 16:01, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The article Amore scusami (album) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NALBUM

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
