You've been awarded the Caspar Milquetoast Prize | |
You've been awarded the Caspar Milquetoast or "Say What You Mean" Prize in recognition of your removal of a milquetoast euphemism here. Sorry it's not a really goodlooking trophy, but the perfect image was unfortunately only fair use. Anyway, keep it up and happy editing! Bishonen | talk 15:29, 16 May 2013 (UTC). |

On 17 April 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Gulf Coast Lines, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that in 1903, Benjamin Franklin Yoakum began building the Gulf Coast Lines in southern Texas as a link in a projected transcontinental railroad system stretching from Chicago to Mexico? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
On 10 September 2010, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Pensacola and Atlantic Railroad, which you created or substantially expanded. The secret of Wikihappiness
[edit]- This user makes good edits.
- This user creates above-average articles.
- This user writes for Wikipedia as if it were a real encyclopedia.
- This user enjoys the fun of good writing and authoritative sourcing.
- This user likes to think that somebody, somewhere may be helped by some reliable fact this user posts.
- This user admits that this may be a slightly egotistic delusion.
- This user realizes there is more to life than an encyclopedia, even a free one, can ever provide.
- This user believes if more were going on in our lives, there would be fewer Wikipedians.
- This user confesses that despite a certain fond feeling, Wikipedia is no substitute for chocolate, friendship, love, or sex, and is just barely on a par with masturbation.
- This user tries not to be a dick, though sometimes sorely tempted, and sometimes failing.
- This user would like to be a class act, but that would probably mean having to go study Zen or something like that, and who's got the time?
- This user is learning not to be pissed off by rudeness, arrogance, and general ignorance.
- This user accepts that one day the sun will explode and so will the merry anarchy that is Wikipedia.
- While the party lasts, THEREFORE,
DGAF | This user does not give a fuck. |
In a good way, of course. :-)
Why the Internet still sucks
[edit]- The world is unfair, blind, and unmerciful. It runs on prejudice and cruelty.
- Any time I edit at more than a correct-the-syntax level, I discover again the wisdom that Wikipedia's original name was "Unemployed Ph.D. Death Match."
- As Freud observed, we are most courageous when we feel most loved. Conversely, the lonely are often the most craven, and their anger is the most vindictive. Wikipedia is filled with the lonely.

Tip of the moment...
Customize appearance of dates
Under the "Date and time" tab in Special:Preferences, you may specify the format in which you view dates. This applies primarily to dates on your watchlist and other lists of changes. It also affects dates in Wikipedia articles and other pages, but only if the day, month and year are wikified (e.g. [[May 14]], [[2007]]). Current recommended editing style is not to wikify dates for this purpose—most years and dates appearing in articles should not be wikilinked, and their format will therefore not be customized. – – Read more: To add this auto-randomizing template to your user page, use {{totd-random}}
