similarity and radio stations
Radio stations may look very similar due to common callsigns but AM and FM stations are different and should have different articles. Your bot should take this into consideration.--Rtphokie (talk) 02:01, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
Articles Re-edited
Hi Corin
Since I was only creating an short information page for people to view manga titles I enjoyed reading, I thought it would be alright to copy the public sypnopsis provided on the publisher's website. However, I guess I was wrong and have rewritten the contents for the two pages "Seduce Me After the Show" and "Nephilim" in my own words so please scan over them again and let me know if there are still problems.
Also, regarding those Walkin Butterfly pictures, please delete as I have tried, but could not find a way to do. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fujoshi sisters (talk • contribs) 09:44, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
Hi Coren. Yesterday afternoon your bot tagged the articles Sheppard Nunatak and Sheppard Crater as copyright from an external website. However, although I did copy them, I did so from within Wikipedia at Wikipedia:WikiProject Missing encyclopedic articles/Antarctica/S3 where the text has been available for some time. I've therefore removed the copyright template from the relevant pages, but please accept my apologies if this is not the right thing to do. Thanks Egdirf (talk) 11:51, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
William Douglas Allen & CorenSearchBot.
it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page.
I'm not sure if this is what you're after, but this is a quick note to tell you that while I was developing the article, it did contain some blocks of text that I was using as reference material, and your bot spotted a chunk (within 1 minute of me hitting the save button!!). But I have now further developed the article and removed those blocks of text, and removed the tag left by the bot. Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 15:29, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Too complicated
I created the page, Drake Landing, because the requested articles page said it was requested. I created, and your bot tagged it for copyright stuff. I then find out that there is the original page Drake Landing Solar Community, and suggested to it's creator a merge of my info, and his. He is on a wikibreak, and my page will be gone soon. It's just too complicated... Basketball110 the pages I've messed up completely 01:00, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Howdy! I split this text off from an article which was mostly about a novel. If the copy is indeed in violation, I am not the perpetrator and I will happily tag it accordingly. Just clearing my name. Her Pegship (tis herself) 04:54, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

I see what you mean, but the version you selected is even worse - it is an early version that contains language directly from the website. After careful investigation, I have rewritten/deleted the information that is too similar to the copyrighted website information. Please take a look and see if you see anything of concern remaining. -- Ssilvers (talk) 05:50, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- Indeed, while trying to find a version that did not contain one part of the text I was looking at, I reverted to one that had a verbatim copy of some other section of text. :-) Thanks for the refactoring— as far as I can tell this version should not pose a difficulty for the website's author. And it reads better to boot. Thanks for bringing your quick attention to this. — Coren (talk) 17:10, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

I had just started the article with one short sentence, and CSB found it almost immediately within a couple of minutes. Anat Bilezki article
I have created this article from material sent me a by a friend, which has been circulating in Israeli Peace Movement email lists. I thought it would be useful to make an article of it, since Bilzki clearly meets the criteria for a Wikipedia page, and did not konw it derived from a copyrighted source. Sorry! I have now made the article into a stub, with external link to the original source and to another source I found on the net. I hope this is OK. I will later try to locate a non-copyrited source for expanding it. Adam Keller 15:59, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Tagging Malagasy commune articles this time - it's pegged five or six, that I've noticed. --User:AlbertHerring Io son l'orecchio e tu la bocca: parla! 17:11, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- Actually 17[1]... the articles are very similar to each other, though. Basically I'm generating them from commune census data with a little program, so the "prose" is certainly very repetitive. I still have 1,000+ Malagasy communes to create, so would there be an easy fix for this? I would rather not have 1,000 copyvio warnings on my talk page :) Cheers, Sadalmelik (talk) 17:46, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

The Coren Search Bot tagged History of the Jews in Vietnam as a copyvio. The problem is that the site it listed as possibly having been copied from is a copyvio Wikipedia fork which siphons Wikipedia content live, so it got the data from the Wikipedia article as soon as it was posted here. Corvus cornixtalk 05:15, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- That is immensely odd, because even if the fork siphoned in real time, how could it possibly have been indexed by Yahoo instantly? Usually, when that happens there is an older, deleted version of the article which was the original source. Doesn't appear to be the case this time— can you guess how the web search found it so fast? — Coren (talk) 05:20, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

- Probably. It tends to get a little confused by the verbiage in typical infoboxes, but short of implementing an actual wikimarkup parser that would know how to discount transclusion (and that would be rather expensive) there isn't much that can be done. If you're making a lot of very similar stubby articles, I can whitelist you however so that it trusts what you write isn't a copy. — Coren (talk) 05:06, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
