Lists of active separatist movements

Please stop adding unsourced content to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is based on verifiability, see WP:V. All content should be supported by reliable sources, see WP:RS. Entries that are not supported by sources or by sourced content in target articles will be removed, even if they should happen to be real, existing movements. Information icon An article you recently created, Al-Ahwaz Arab People's Democratic Popular Front, is not suitable as written to remain published. An article needs more information and citations from reliable, independent sources to remain in the mainspace. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline, has suitable content and thus is ready for mainspace, click the Submit the draft for review! button atop the article. Your contributed article, Crotalus ravus brunneus

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Crotalus ravus brunneus. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Crotalus ravus. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Crotalus ravus. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Taking Out The Trash (talk) 19:11, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bothrops muriciensis moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Bothrops muriciensis. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because almost all of the article is unsourced; almost none of the material is present in the one source given. Please provide references for all material in the article, otherwise that material will have to be removed. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Elmidae (talk · contribs) 13:05, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hazarajat Freedom Movement moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Hazarajat Freedom Movement, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 14:27, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lists of separatist movements

[edit]

I admire your enthusiasm for adding new movements to the different continent lists. I am also glad to see that you now use time to find sources for the entries. However, instead of just adding a list of sources indiscriminately, it would be nice if you could spend some more time checking that the sources you use actually support the information you are adding.

To be a bit more specific: As you have been told in many edit summaries, this is a list of movements, so adding entries with no mention of any movement is absolutely undue. When mentioning a movement (party, organisation, militant group, whatever) that has got a Wiki article, you have to make sure that the linked Wiki article actually mentions separatism, secessionism, autonomism or similar. If not, that fact has to be sourced specificly to a source describing the movement (mentioned by name) as separatist etc. If the movement does not have a Wiki article, the need for sourcing is even more pressing.

Please note: Having one source saying that there exists a separatist movement but not mentioning a name and then another source mentioning a movement by name, but not stating expicitly that they are separatist is not enough. What is needed is one (or more) reliable source mentioning the movement by name and describing them as separatist. See WP:OR and WP:SYNTH. And needless to say, inventing a name for a movement is not only undue, it is plain dishonest.

Finally: Blogs and opinion pieces are not considered to be reliable sources. See WP:RS. T*U (talk) 11:10, 27 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. If possible, don't add every "what if" scenario and fringe movement mentioned by a single article or blog post, to fulfill Wikipedia's notoriety standards. Especially concerning the recently added Polish movements there should be much more than a single article, of which two of them are just making fun of a couple of locals. Thanks! Please don't mess up existing ref names

[edit]

In three separate edits of List of historical unrecognized states, you introduced markup defining ref names that were already defined. Each time, when you clicked "Show preview", you should have seen red warning messages like Cite error: The named reference ":0" was defined multiple times with different content (see the help page). You should have gone back figured out why this message was appearing. I spent half an hour fixing this. As you edit, please be careful not to mess up existing ref names.
