Princess Maria Pia of Braganza

[edit]

I believe that the public domain picture MariaPiaBraganca.jpg, about the Princess Maria Pia of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha Braganza, is an excellent candidate to be moved to Commons. Could you do this? 84.90.92.195 (talk) 01:37, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

image taggings for deletion

[edit]

Hi

you have been tagging files for deletion on the English wikipedia where there is no image file, only text, but one on commons. The correct tag to use is {{db-f2}}. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:35, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'm confused about File:ZweiRadMuseumNSU Quickly.JPG being tagged for deletion. It doesn't appear to be "corrupt or empty", but I'm not overly familiar with image practices. Could you point me towards an explanation? Thanks.
Also, you tagged the edit as minor, which a tagging for deletion is not! Actually, all your edits seem to be tagged as "minor". You might have it turned on by default - you can turn this preference off at the "editing" tab in your Special:Preferences. See WP:MINOR for details on when it should be used.
Thanks. -- Quiddity (talk) 22:04, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:29, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

CommonsCat

[edit]

Hi, many thanks for adding {{CommonsCat}} to articles, but could you use {{Commons category}}, which the former redirects to. Just saves a second edit on articles as AWB and BOTs are going round changing them. Keith D (talk) 19:36, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. -- Common Good (talk) 19:40, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Move to Commons drive

[edit]

Damn, man, you are a machine! I'm good, but you're the best: everything's categorized and formatted excellently, and your speed is amazing. My hat's off to you. – Quadell (talk) 20:50, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It borders on the comical. Quadell keeps appearing to overtake you in the ranking, but it's only because you didn't update your own count. As soon as I do the global updates your supremacy is restored. To think I was a bit worried to see a person with a redlinked userpage joining the drive. Shown me my place, you did. Sven Manguard Wha? 17:26, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I though the same thing as Sven, but you are awesome. I honestly didn't think a move-to-Commons drive would get much attention, but now we have both you and Quadell doing so much it is amazing. You'll both more than deserve several barnstars by the end of the month! :) –Drilnoth (T/C) 22:07, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You're femonenal! Please continue. I think that we shouldn't have to review since your doing so well. We are still going to review though. Remember to sign up for the January 2012 drive! ~~Ebe123~~ (+) talk

Sorry, but if there's no good description, or no description at all, you must make it. You are responsible for your images transferred. Because of that, some of your images, I would mark as bad. Please fix. For now, I will mark as bad. ~~Ebe123~~ (+) talk

The backlog's goals are in 1500 file chunks. You have transferred 1512 files. Holy $#!T man, that's absurd. Keep up the good work! Sven Manguard Wha? 15:28, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to events in June and July: bot, script, template, and Gadget makers wanted

[edit]

I invite you to the yearly Berlin hackathon, 1-3 June. Registration is now open. If you need financial assistance or help with visa or hotel, then please register by May 1st and mention it in the registration form.

This is the premier event for the MediaWiki and Wikimedia technical community. We'll be hacking, designing, teaching, and socialising, primarily talking about ResourceLoader and Gadgets (extending functionality with JavaScript), the switch to Lua for templates, Wikidata, and Wikimedia Labs.

We want to bring 100-150 people together, including lots of people who have not attended such events before. User scripts, gadgets, API use, Toolserver, Wikimedia Labs, mobile, structured data, templates -- if you are into any of these things, we want you to come!

I also thought you might want to know about other upcoming events where you can learn more about MediaWiki customization and development, how to best use the web API for bots, and various upcoming features and changes. We'd love to have power users, bot maintainers and writers, and template makers at these events so we can all learn from each other and chat about what needs doing.

Check out the the developers' days preceding Wikimania in July in Washington, DC and our other events.

Best wishes! - Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation's Volunteer Development Coordinator. Please reply on my talk page, here or at mediawiki.org. Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation Volunteer Development Coordinator 21:16, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
