The History of WWE article is a summary of key events within the industry. information should be kept short and on topic, and also proper sources and citation should be added. your recent edit seems to have been based on personal analysis and thus has been reverted. Do not exaggerate contents and please provide sources. if you do not know how to, you are welcome to ask so at Wikipedia:Teahouse. Plase comply with the rules, thank you. 2019 Preakness Stakes moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, 2019 Preakness Stakes, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Control copyright icon Hello CodyRhodesDiva, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to University of Kentucky cheerleading scandal have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

Thanks, I didn't know about the copyright rules.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by The4lines (talkcontribs) 03:39, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Created The New Era (WWE) article

[edit]

What do you think of my article?

We appreciate the effort and thank you for your contribution. You did add some unsourced contents and misquote some sources, for example stating that "women were performing critically acclaimed matches on NXT", note that while many matches receive a positive response, that does not mean they are all critically acclaimed which are 1 in 1000 like HBK vs Taker WM 25, Charlotte vs Lynch vs Banks WM 32. Critically acclaim equates to being "match of the year worthy", and random 20 minutes good matches do not meet the criteria, for example, Orton vs HHH at SuperShodown 2019 was a good match, that doesn't mean it was critically acclaimed, only the rarest of the rarest matches fit that definition. Also try to state what the source states and remember the strict no original research and no personal opinion policy, read this very carefully: WP:NOR. Other than that thank you for the excellent article, a lot of editors have contributed to it since the page was created and we hope you keep making contributions to your excellent article. Cheers. January 2021

[edit]

Just a simple note. Please keep in mind WP:Trivial as with your recent edit to Royal Rumble (2017) and please note that there is no need to name every single female wrestler as you did in PG Era, WWE had 100s of wrestlers at that point, only the most prominent should be named, no overdoing. Wikipedia is not a place to promote personal views. Thank you. Dilbaggg (talk) 03:33, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Answer to your question on my talk page:

no I don't think it will, as these days women are equal to men, and there are more women fan now then when the Rumbles actually begun in the late 80s, back in the 1990s women wrestling wasn't progressive and women fanbase was rare. Now women and children make over 60% of the wrestling fanbase and even men wants to see women in competitive matches, rather than pillow fights that existed in the 90s. The world has changed and women can do what men can do, so no it will never go back to being men's only Royal Rumble matches. But just like we do not add trivial information that 2001 Royal Rumble match was Austin's record 3rd rumble victory, or the No Way Out 2009 EC match was HHH's record 4th EC match victory, there is no need to violate WP:Trivial by stating that the 2017 Rumbles was the last "without women", and please refrain from WP:NOR violation, and just like we dont go saying that the SummerSlam 2000 TLC match was the first "men's tlc" match, just the first TLC match, we dont need to say the 2018 TLC match was the first women's TLC match, everything doesnt need to be highlighted because it is done for the first time ever by women. With that said women are the future of WWE, Becky Lynch is the most popular star since Rock and Austin, so the women's evolution will continue as long as the WWE continues to exist. But I hope you strictly follow the WP:NOR and WP:Trivial policy and don't over do things. I am just complying with Wikipedia guidlines. Thank you. Dilbaggg (talk) 14:43, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:2024 Olympics Closing Ceremony.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file from a commercial source (e.g. Associated Press, Getty Images), where the file itself is not the subject of sourced commentary. If you can explain why the file can be used under the non-free content guidelines, please add the appropriate non-free use tag and rationale.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
