[edit]Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Kautilya3 (talk) 10:31, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

[edit]An article you recently created, Air Marshal (India), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 19:56, 6 January 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Central Armed Police Forces, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages NSG and AR (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Speedy deletion nomination of Asia Index
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Asia Index, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. (See section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. ArbCom received convincing evidence that the editors listed at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Vishwanatha Badikana/Archive are not the same person. We are downgrading the blocks for each to a block for disruptive meatpuppetry, including edit warring, article hijacking, and what appears to be some promotional editing; as well as failing to understand how notability functions here (see WP:42 for a very brief overview). Any administrator may process an unblock request accordingly, taking into account the specifics of each users' participation prior to the SPI.
ChiK, please review the guide to appealing the blocks and then either use the {{unblock}} template or use the unblock ticket request system to request an unblock (with a preference to the former). You will need to appeal individually from any other user in the group listed in the SPI case above. Izno (talk) 20:04, 18 March 2023 (UTC)

I am writing to request that my account be unblocked. I believe that my account was mistakenly blocked due to a misunderstanding of my actions on Wikipedia. I confirm that I only have one account and have not engaged in any prohibited behavior. I am committed to following Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and I have reached out to Wikipedia: Tutorial for guidance on how to contribute positively to the project. I have also been regularly participating in community meetings and workshops to improve my skills and understanding of Wikipedia. If there were any mistakes made, I apologize and assure you that they were unintentional. I respectfully request that my account be unblocked so that I can continue to contribute to this valuable resource. Thank you for your consideration. ChiK (talk) 07:54, 21 March 2023 (UTC)

While ArbCom has stated that you did not engage in sockpuppetry, and I will certainly be happy to take their word on that, your editing was disruptive nonetheless. ArbCom, a group of 10-15 of Wikipedia's most experienced editors, has determined that meatpuppetry did happen. You will need to address this concern before you will be unblocked. You will also need to address the article hijacking (WP:OWN), promotional editing (WP:PROMO) and lack of understanding of notability (WP:N). The Arbitration Committee has recognized that we are distinct individuals bound by a single community. Our close-knit nature has fostered an environment where we often introduce new users through monthly meetups or thematic editathons 1, 2 In these instances, it's possible that shared laptop usage inadvertently resulted in the same IP address being utilized. Despite this, we wish to emphasize that each of us is a unique contributor, committed to maintaining the integrity of Wikipedia without any instances of hijacking or disruptive writing.
Since February, I have been an active participant in various workshops and meetups, where I have gained a comprehensive understanding of Wikipedia's rules and policies, particularly those regarding ownership WP:OWN, promotional editing WP:PROMO, and notability WP:N.
Additionally, I'd like to draw your attention to our collective presence captured in a single frame during the Local Wikimania event in Mangalore, where all community members, along with a WMF Employee, participated. 3 ChiK (talk) 16:56, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
Decline reason:
You are still trying to convince reviewing administrators that there was no sort of bad-faith coordination here. However, the following claims were made at the SPI:
- Chik starts a section on the talk page of Onel5969 to stop the merge of Mangalore Amateur Radio Club created by BHARATHESHA. Four minutes later BHARATHESHA replies to the section in support.[1][2]
- BHARATHESHA continued the edit war of ChiK in Amara Sullia Rebellion.[3][4]. Both the accounts edited the article with a time gaps of 2 seconds, 8 seconds, 38 seconds, 48 seconds etc.[5]. Vishwanatha Badikana comes there a day after its creation,[6] resumed the edit of BHARATHESHA after 5 minutes[7][8] and also expanded it significantly.
- In Draft:Tudar Parbo created by BHARATHESHA, ChiK started to edit it 2 minutes after its creation.[9][10]. Preethika B resumed adding references in the same section 1 minutes after BHARATHESHA.[11][12] The accounts edited it with time gaps starting from 3 seconds, 5 seconds, 11 seconds etc.[13]
- Preethika B created International Cultural Jamboree and BHARATHESHA starts expanding it 3 minutes after its creation.[14][15]. ChiK jumps in after 5 hours.[16]. The article was initially created at User:BHARATHESHA ALASANDEMAJALU/sandbox5 which was also edited by Preethika B.(see history)
- All the accounts edited Arebhashe dialect. ChiK resumed editing the same section a minute later.[17][18]. Preethika B resumed editing the same section edited by BHARATHESHA.[19][20][21]
- In Mangalore Amateur Radio Club created by BHARATHESHA, ChiK starts to expand it 40 minutes after its creation.[22][23]. Vishwanatha Badikana continued adding references to the same section.[24][25]
- BHARATHESHA created a subpage which was also edited by ChiK.[26]. Both Chik and BHARATHESHA then hijacked an article with a similar name and copied the content from the sub page there with time gaps of minutes.[27][28]
The Arbitration Committee subsequently affirmed that this constituted disruptive meatpuppetry. You are not going to be unblocked by disputing that point. If you want to be unblocked, you are going to need to address that finding head-on and explain why this kind of conduct won't be an issue in the future. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 02:18, 15 August 2023 (UTC)

Thank you for the detailed comment, the Tulu Community is a small and close-knit community that is part of the Karavali Wikimedians user group (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Karavali_Wikimedians). This group is based in a geographically small region. Dr. Vishwanatha Badikana serves as the president of the user group, while Preethika and Bharathesha are also members. We maintain both personal and online connections to collaborate on Wikimedia projects and actively participate in meetings and events. When introducing new members to Wikipedia, there have been instances where articles were created. *Mangalore Amateur Radio Club: This local radio club is based in our area, making it familiar to me. In an offline meeting, wrote an article about it i just did few corrections. *Amara Sullia Rebellion: This topic holds significance in our area and is well-known. I contributed mainly by making minor grammatical corrections and small improvements during our meetup. *Draft:Tudar Parbo: As a festival unique to our region, we felt it was important to create an article about it, and we started the writing process and I edited real time while event is happening *International Cultural Jamboree: We organized an edit-a-thon to introduce Wikipedia to young people in our region, educated local residents, and had a stall at the International Cultural Jamboree more details are here(https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Karavali_Wikimedians/Events/International_Cultural_Jamboree). *Arebhashe dialect: This dialect is a prominent feature of our region. I assure you that my intentions were not related to ownership (WP:OWN), promotional editing (WP:PROMO), or notability (WP:N). Most of thinks of our region are in underrepresented so just introduce to Wiki world. Mr. Bharathesha translated the article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:BHARATHESHA_ALASANDEMAJALU/Annamalai_Kuppusamy) from Kannada and created a subpage. I provided input, but the article was taken over by an external entity, leading to a dispute. Regrettably, we were subsequently blocked without any prior warning. We firmly believe that this action is unjust and request a thorough investigation into this situation. We are particularly concerned about the article concerning K. Annamalai (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K._Annamalai), a notable police service officer and politician. It's noteworthy that there is still no article about Annamalai (Indian Police Service), and it's concerning that most attempts to create an article about him have resulted in blocks. This pattern of blocking was discovered after our own block. I want to clarify that I am not involved in any hijacking and was unaware of the history of the article. Most of above articles are prepared for events, when introducing newcomers to Wikimedia projects, or during meetups. We work closely as a community and are actively involved in eduwiki projects. Our focus is on preserving living heritage, aligned with the Movement Strategy 2023. This includes documenting rare folk performing art forms specific to our region (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Karavali_Wikimedians/Events/%E2%80%8DFolk-a-than_Documentary) and engaging with the Movement Charter Discourses (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Karavali_Wikimedians/Events/Movement_Charter_Discourses) and other translate wiki project. I want to emphasize that we are a tight-knit community genuinely dedicated not only to English Wikipedia but also other Wikimedia projects. If there are concerns about meat puppetry, we want to assure you that we are a closely collaborating community committed to Wikipedia projects. I also want to clarify that any unintentional incidents were purely accidental. I kindly request that you unblock my account. ChiK (talk) 15:50, 9 September 2023 (UTC)

- A review of your editing history at K. Annamalai makes it clear that your claim that you are "not involved in any hijacking and [were] unaware of the history of the article" is disingenuous. You could not possibly have made this edit without being aware that you were taking over an article and replacing its contents with material on a totally different subject, and there are other edits where you were removing, and must have known you were removing, material relating to a totally different person than the one you were posting about. Unblock request
[edit]ChiK (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I am writing to request the unblocking of my account on English Wikipedia. I understand that there was an incident involving a meat puppet, and I sincerely apologize for any disruption it may have caused to the community. 1. A review of your editing history at K. Perhaps you can clarify. :It seems there has been a misunderstanding, and I apologize for any confusion my actions may have caused. My intent has always been to contribute constructively to Wikipedia and adhere to its guidelines. However, it appears that some of my edits may have inadvertently strayed from the article's focus. I assure you that this was not deliberate, and I am committed to rectifying any discrepancies and adhering more closely to the standards expected by the Wikipedia community. I value the opportunity to learn from this experience and improve my editing practices. 2. Can you explain why you said above "I am not connected with any other accounts", but have now explained that you were editing in conjunction with other accounts? JBW (talk) 21:27, 4 October 2023 (UTC) :When I mentioned that "I am not connected with any other accounts," I meant that I do not engage in sockpuppetry or coordinate editing activities with multiple accounts to deceive or manipulate Wikipedia. However, upon reflection, I realize that my wording may have been misleading. What I intended to convey is that while I may collaborate with other editors or individuals on Wikipedia, these interactions are transparent, conducted openly, and do not violate Wikipedia's policies on sockpuppetry. We are different individuals with unique perspectives and contributions, working towards the common goal of improving Wikipedia's content. I apologize for any confusion my previous statement may have caused, and I appreciate the opportunity to clarify this matter. 3. Seems to me that "close-knit community" is another term for "meat puppetry". - UtherSRG (talk) 17:45, 12 October 2023 (UTC) :I understand your concern, but I assure you that my reference to a "close-knit community" was not meant to imply meat puppetry. Rather, I was referring to the collaborative nature of Wikipedia editing, where editors often work closely together, sharing knowledge and insights to improve articles. This collaboration is an integral part of Wikipedia's ethos, encouraging diverse perspectives and expertise to enhance the quality of content. Much similar to an edit-a-thon where a group of editors edit together- in a collaborative yet genuine manner. I want to assure you that I am fully committed to adhering to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines moving forward. I recently participated in the Wiki Trainer Training held in Cochin and also attended the Local Advanced training, which has deepened my understanding of Wikipedia's principles and best practices. I value the Wikipedia community greatly and am eager to contribute positively to it. I assure you that such incidents will never happen again. ChiK (talk) 17:14, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
Accept reason:
I'm going to accept this, but with a few caveats--notes, as it were, for future reference, and I urge you to leave them here, visibly. 1. You have not addressed the hijacking of the Annamalai article, but I sincerely hope you won't pull such shenanigans again. 2. You keep talking about, on the one hand, the "close-knit community" you work in, but deny that this collaboration amounts to meatpuppeting--you you promise this won't happen again. You will no longer collaborate with others, or you will no longer engage in meatpuppeting? And when you say "these interactions are transparent etc"--well, clearly they weren't or these blocks wouldn't have happened, and ArbCom wouldn't have had to step in. I suggest you take that statement and turn it into a promise. Drmies (talk) 17:24, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
