Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of K-pop on the Billboard charts, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Red Light. Hi J! What happened on Non-Summit? Did the producer Lim Jung-ah 임정아 leave the show?? [9]? Is 조승욱 Cho Seung-wook the new producer?

Also, the Chinese representative 모일봉 is off for Ep 105 and 106, too? Why? Thanks, I don't understand! - too many changes!--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 01:45, 6 July 2016 (UTC)

Lim Jung-ah left the show, right. The series was changed new season. New season has changed representative and producers. I didn't see episode 105 yet, so I don't know about that... -- Kanghuitari (talk) 02:54, 6 July 2016 (UTC)

numbers

Hi! FYI, per Manual of Style, numbers higher than nine are not written out in articles. Please see WP:NUMERAL. I'm continuing to try to improve the article and trying to find the name of the river and a map coordinates. Thanks! :-) МандичкаYO 😜 20:48, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

Thanks, I wondered why you left half and half on the numbers - I'm still reading up on all the rules, sometimes relying on what I see as a standard! Yes, I didn't know how to do the map coordinates, but wanted to. Your profile box was great! The name of the river was not listed in the articles, but the border river for the province is Yalu River.--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 20:52, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi Мандичка I found a Korean newspaper article that lists the name as Yalu if you can use it to find the coordinates: here is the reference ready for you: 21:17, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

Yalu is the huge river that separates CHN-PRK so they definitely weren't crossing over that. From what I'm understanding it is a "fork" river (river coming off Yalu). Based on images of maps I found in Chinese coverage, I think I found the right place using Google so put those coordinates. I'm trying to figure out how to put the map in the box. [11] Thanks for helping with this article! Like I said in the AfD discussion, if this happened in the US nobody would be arguing to delete it. МандичкаYO 😜 21:25, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
I still don't understand WP talk etiquette, if I'm supposed to "ping" you with your name, if I am talking on my Talk Page - hope you see this - yes, your work is brilliant! I added the Yalu River info. from Dong Ilbo, if you find that it is a branch river, or this is incorrect, please delete it.--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 21:31, 3 July 2015 (UTC) P.S. I'm not seeing the Ji-dan Highway information in already added references? Which one is it? Thanks!--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 21:35, 3 July 2015 (UTC) Don't worry I found and added them!--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 22:12, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

Dear Мандичка - I just saw your additions - what a sad state of events. I had personally hoped for no more bad things to happen. Thanks for your attention to the news. I will add some links and minor changes. How very tragic.--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 00:31, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

Non-summit

First, your statement that the cited article "has nothing to do with name" is wrong. As it stated: "「非頂上」3字的韓語諧音與「非正常」相同,吸引觀眾的注意". ("The three words 'non-top-level' in Korean are homophonous with 'abnormal', attracting viewers' attention.") I would appreciate your assistance in figuring out some way to convey this information in the infobox to explain this fact in a way which does not in your opinion violate WP:OR.

Second, if you wished to remove what you thought was original research, you should simply remove or rephrase the passage in question, rather than blindly reverting and deleting other useful edits (such as removing the erroneous link to Korean name which has nothing to do with the context, fixing {{linktext}} so that it linked to actual words on Wiktionary rather than in di vi du al mea ning less syl lab les, etc.). 58.176.246.42 (talk) 03:29, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

Sorry for delay in response. Yes, I apologize for removing your minor and major edits, at the same time. And thanks for offering compromising discussion. You have re-added "useful edits, (removal of erroneous link to Korean name)". Since I didn't add much of the Name profile, (other editors have), I will leave it without challenging whether the edit was "useful." Very popular Korean pages, (Running Man (TV series)) and (Who Are You: School 2015) have the link, as do many others; not to say that they are right. You will have an uphill task to correct all the many instances you will find.
As to the Wiki links to the name, I have no objection to that, but assumed if the South Korean show's editors had translated the name to Non-Summit and many other international viewers had translated it to Abnormal Summit, then, that was sufficient for me. I was happy there were not more translations to account for, as is often the case.
Although I have long been intrigued by many of the "word plays" and "puns" attached to Korean titles and/or dialogue, I don't feel it necessary to detail this information in the name profile, as you seem to. This is a page about a television show, not the naming of television shows, or the nuances of the Korean language or the nuances of translations. And without a media source that details such information, making it news worthy, should not be added.
Thanks again for your thoughtfulness on these edits.--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 19:15, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

Italics and such

Just FYI, longer/bigger works should have italics. These include TV series, movies, magazines, music albums, and books. Shorter/smaller works should have "double quotes". These include episodes, magazine articles, songs, and poems. You can find more about this at WP:MOSTITLE. Dismas|(talk) 22:17, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

Dismas, thanks a lot, I'm still learning a lot by example - I saw you changed the TV series the other day, but then inadvertently took off your italics on the Jeff Dye page. I really appreciate all the helpful edits and discussions. Thanks so much, --Bonnielou2013 (talk) 23:25, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

Where Is My Friend's Home

Hi Bonnie! How are you? I've just finished watching the final episode of the U.S. trip and sad to see that Season 1 has ended... Speaking of Season 1 ending, I need some help on updating the page... I've added some minor bits but I'm unsure how to divide the sections now that there's a Season 2 coming in the near future... Would it be possible if you can work on the sections needed for update? Thank you!! Sorry if this causes any inconvenience as I know you've been really busy! I'll update the episodes page in the meantime! --Pinkyperky0628 (talk) 15:47, 29 April 2016 (UTC)

Hi Pinkyperky I'm good. Yes, I will look into it today and start it this weekend. This is the first for me too, on a tv show page - so I will have to compare with some others. I want to add the future plans as well, if I can find any. I know you are sad with the ending, as you have been much more involved than me. While WIMFH is on a break, you can get more involved in the editing on Non-Summit, if you want, or just take a vacation! You could also start to put together a page of your own - give it some thought this week - now that you will have a lot more time on your hands! As always, I appreciate your hard work and devotion on your edits of something that interested me, too! Talk to you soon.--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 18:05, 29 April 2016 (UTC)

Oh Pinkyperky!!! Now I am starting to get sad, too!!!! I just added a few minor changes on the page and read the newspaper article you added. They do not say when Season 2 will start - maybe there will not be one? Oh no! Do you have a favorite trip? Mine was Nepal. I have visited Kashmir on a trip and the area of Pahalgam I stayed in was much like Nepal. Plus, Sujan was one of my favorites on Non-Summit! I think after a while, some of the cast looked sleepy a lot of the time on the trips! hahaha! (2nd favorite was the one in Buyeo County with Prof. Yoo, or maybe France, or Canada! I don't know, I liked them all!!!).

Anyway, I moved the Season 1 heading up the page to include the Cast, and added a few more details. Your chart of the scheduling times is brilliant - that must have taken a while to put together! Although WP editors have taken down airing times I have listed in the beginning of a page (they say "this is not TV Guide") the scheduling combined with information about the ratings drop on the newspaper article was important. But, don't be surprised if someone removes it.

Since this Season 1 is the current one - and we don't know when Season 2 will start....let's do this....leave the page like it is right now, then when Season 2 starts, we can put some (Hidden format) headers in and collapse Season 1 and keep the Current Season open (like the page you work on for the Episodes). Does this sound good to you? The current byte size is under 50,000, so it won't be too large to start adding another season. Also, if that happens, we would need to start a separate page for the Episodes, as that page is too large. I will need to ask editor Kanghuitari to do that - as I am not too good with Wikidata stuff, or whatever you call it. He's the one who added the great chart and assisted on the Non-Summit page (also adding all the other language pages to that).

So, rest up my dear, or jump into a new project on WP - I know you are hooked!!!!--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 16:56, 30 April 2016 (UTC)

DYK for Smacksoft

On 4 July 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Smacksoft, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the musical style of South Korean band Smacksoft was described as "a fantastic, densely-layered hybrid sound of post-punk, rock and electronica"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Smacksoft. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Smacksoft), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

DYK for Whang Bo-ryung

On 7 July 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Whang Bo-ryung, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that singer-songwriter Whang Bo-ryung's third album was written in a calming acoustic style as a response to chaotic world events such as the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster? Information icon Hello! Thank you for your recent contributions to Musical.ly. I did have one note for you. I am working on a maintenance project to clean up Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this: |image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]], instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do: |image=SomeImage.jpg. There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recetly added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks!! Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Billboard K-Town, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Better Late Than Never. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:54, 15 September 2016 (UTC)

BTS!

Hi! it's seems that you are a big fan of BTS! My fev is obviously Big Bang, but I have a weak spot for BTS since I followed them since their debut! Congrats on their huge success in this era! the album charted in many countries in their official chart!! New Zealand, Sweden, Dutch & Irish!! and more to come. I think they will break the 200 record for K-pop! I hope they will go far, such a talented group. GD.BB (talk) 14:11, 14 October 2016 (UTC)

GD.BB, yes, they and Got7 are big favorites here in U.S., probably more than in Korea! RE: BTS and BB - you have to recognize brilliance! Your page Wings is getting over 10,000 views a day and I wanted it to look good for the new Kpop editors to start editing right. It took me a long time to learn anything on WP! And you can't tell from my edits who I like - I spent hours on the indie band Idiotape - but had never listened to them! hahaha! (I'm off today and going to get my copies of Wings and Flight Turbulence....our local K-pop shop drives the sales for this part of the country!) - have a great day!--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 15:50, 14 October 2016 (UTC)

October 2016

Please stop removing the italics from around Billboard exclusively in Billboard 200 on Wings (BTS album). It is Wikipedia standard to only italicise the publication and not the 200 as well, hence why the album chart template for the Billboard 200 only italicises Billboard. Thank you. Ss112 04:29, 19 October 2016 (UTC)

Hello Ss112, I think we are both working to improve the page. Thanks for the instruction on italics, I shudder to use them. However, the changes I made were basically to remove the double page link to Billboard 200 in the intro. and remove the 2nd link further down the page, per WP rules. [12] - I'll leave the italics expertise to you. Greetings are always courteous. Thanks.--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 05:17, 19 October 2016 (UTC)
I didn't have an issue with removing the second link. Also, I didn't preface my message with a greeting because it would seem fake and pointless to say that and then jump right into asking you not to remove italics from wording. Ss112 08:41, 19 October 2016 (UTC)
Also, it's discourteous to edit someone else's message, even on your own talk page. It might not have been necessary to link you to the album page, but it is the standard thing to do when you send someone a message and we should not presume other editors know which edit on what page we are talking about. The Billboard 200 link was to show you that even on its own page, only Billboard is italicised. Ss112 10:57, 19 October 2016 (UTC)
Hi again Ss112, Oops, you caught me. I didn't think you would come back and continue the discussion. Explanation...I'm a dinosaur on WP, and after I finally discovered "What links here" I realized the data it adds up, so I consciously tried to stop linking article pages to User's Talk pages. It was a knee-jeck reaction when I edited your link. Yes, just plain wrong. Sorry, I don't think I've touched someone's talk before. Like on the Wings album page under discussion...an editor just corrected the wording on a "quote" from Fuse TV writer Benjamin, without brackets clarifying the change. What to do?
I will remember your help on italics and will add it to one more pragmatic lesson good editors like yourself have patiently shared. And you may remember, fondly, or otherwise, my chiding you about not greeting me properly. I know, I know....TMI....thank you for expounding, and I hope we are all good now. :}--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 18:54, 19 October 2016 (UTC)

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:22, 20 October 2016 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Jun Sung Ahn requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. China V Chart

Hi Bonnielou2013! how are doing? I wanted to ask you something about the V chart. I've notice that if the song reaches 6 weeks on the chart is's dropped from the chart the following week, it's weird! Do you think it's true? GD.BB (talk) 16:54, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

Hi GD.BB Interesting! So, I tracked some (non-kpop) artists and found exactly what you said:

  • TF Boys "Protecting Home" - 07/02/2016 - 08/06/2016 (6 weeks)
  • Feng Jianyu "Hong" - 07/09/2016 - 08/13/2016 (6 weeks)
  • Karry Wang "Miss of Sky Wheel" - 08/06/2016 - 09/10/2016 (6 weeks)

The 3 examples above were tracking high on the chart - then disappeared off it......instead of moving down the chart and then off.....as we normally see.

However, I did find 2 examples that charted longer than 6 weeks.

  • Xu Fei "Don't Say Goodbye" 04/16/2016 - 05/28/2016 (7 consecutive weeks)
  • TF Boys "Big Dreamer" 08/06/2016 - 09/10/2016 (from 7 weeks - 12 weeks) - I didn't find when the song first entered the chart. But, again, it charted 6 weeks previously - that magic # 6!

Under the "How It Works" it says: "A ranking of the most-viewed videos on Chinese music video service YYT." It is explained more here: [13], which you may have already seen.

Let's just keep an eye on it and see if the 6 week thing is the norm, a weird thing about the chart, or is it just coincidence that songs stay on it for 6 weeks and move off. Thanks for letting me know. I do know that the "Search" doesn't always work right, I tried 08/06/2016 several times, and eventually had to page through to get to it. (PS - I fixed some of the "Sortable" columns, from before, and still have a couple to work on - Japan Chart and one or two others.)--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 18:37, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

Yeah I've check the info about China Chart but nothing helpful. So there are songs that charted more than 6 weeks! I've check the two songs

  • Xu Fei "Don't Say Goodbye", in the first 6 weeks the cover of the songs is five people, in the seventh week it changed to a girl!
  • TF Boys "Big Dreamer" entered the chart on 2015-12-26 and spend 6 weeks in the top till 2016-01-30 then disappear from the chart! It's back on 08/06/2016 to the chart with different cover and spend 6 weeks in the chart till 2016-09-10 then BOOM its gone!! LOL

So I guess the limit for a song in the chart in 6 weeks, and when they change the cover it's like a brand new song! BB in a mess sometimes. GD.BB (talk) 19:20, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Non-Summit (2014 cast).jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Non-Summit (2014 cast).jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. xplicit 03:00, 29 August 2017 (UTC)

Hello! Last year, you signed up to participate in Wikipedia Asian Month (WAM) 2016 on the English Wikipedia. The event was an international success, with hundreds of editors creating thousands of articles on Asian topics across dozens of different language versions of Wikipedia.

I'd like to invite you to join us for Wikipedia Asian Month 2017, which once again lasts through the month of November. The goal is for users to create new articles on Asian-related content, each at least 3,000 bytes and 300 words in length. Editors who create at least four articles will receive a Wikipedia Asian Month postcard!

Also be sure to check out the Wikipedia Asian Art Month affiliate event - creating articles on Asian art topics can get you a Metropolitan Museum of Art postcard!

If you're interested, please sign up here for the English Wikipedia. If you are interested in also working on other language editions of Wikipedia, please visit the meta page to see other participating projects. If you have any questions, please visit our talk page.

Thank you!

This will be the last message you receive from the English Wikipedia WAM team for being a 2016 participant. If you sign up for WAM 2017, you will continue receiving periodic updates on the 2017 event.

  • Hi GD.BB and Abdotorg Please see the notice above about adding all your articles you create in November to Asian Month under South Korea. I am running behind and will add my first one soon. Please spread the word to other English WP editors! Thanks and all the best!--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 09:57, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Ah, thank you for re-adding that reference to Ahn’s article - I didn’t realise I had removed that too! Alexanderlee (talk) 04:39, 27 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi Alexanderlee (I was just responding on your page, at same time!) I see you are trying to make some corrections on Jun Sung Ahn page, too. I added back the good citation that covered the information you left in the sentence.

What do you think about the editor adding the music video release for "When I Call" solely from Instagram.....see my edits and reversions....I couldn't decide as the rule seems to allow for some exceptions. But, does it open a can of worms and everyone will start adding Twitter, Instagram, etc. references??? And the particular Instagram note from Ahn does not say the name of the music video "When I Call"........anyway, should we leave it or not? I am not finding another current good citation for it? If you disagree, then just delete it with your explanation. Nice to talk to you, keep up the good work!--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 04:46, 27 November 2017 (UTC)

personally I think it should be removed as it doesn’t specifically mention what it’s being used as a reference for, so I don’t think it would be plausible for the guideline exemption, however I haven’t been able to find any any other reference for this as of yet. I’ll leave it for now (mainly to avoid any further mistakes such as that reference being removed as I’m on my phone right now) but I’ll have another search tomorrow to see if I can find anything more suitable. I do think it being left could possibly give other editors the impression that Instagram can be used freely as a source, though, especially if they aren’t familiar with citation guidelines so it could become a bit muddled. Alexanderlee (talk) 04:57, 27 November 2017 (UTC)

Thanks Alexanderlee, I'll add a note to the Jun Sung Ahn talk page, where further discussion may ensue from other editors and where this should properly be discussed.--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 05:07, 27 November 2017 (UTC)

Please continue to contribute to Wikipedia, you have made a fine start - you made additions and prepared a citation in the proper manner! I get corrections and changes made on my work all the time by other editors and administrators. I think most Wikipedia editors are fairly easy going and will help you as you learn. Please ask me any questions you have and I will help you with what I can. Don't be discouraged, you are doing a great job!--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 06:09, 28 November 2017 (UTC)

ANI Experiences survey

The Wikimedia Foundation Community health initiative (led by the Safety and Support and Anti-Harassment Tools team) is conducting a survey for en.wikipedia contributors on their experience and satisfaction level with the Administrator’s Noticeboard/Incidents. This survey will be integral to gathering information about how this noticeboard works - which problems it deals with well, and which problems it struggles with.

The survey should take 10-20 minutes to answer, and your individual responses will not be made public. The survey is delivered through Google Forms. The privacy policy for the survey describes how and when Wikimedia collects, uses, and shares the information we receive from survey participants and can be found here:

Addition to Korean Wikipedia

Hi Bonnielou2013, I'm working on translating Bottega Veneta from English into Korean and was wondering if you have time to help me out. I found your username on wikiproject:Korean and saw that you're fluent in both English and Korean. I have a paid COI regarding Bottega Veneta, but my main concern here is ensuring that the information available in English is available and up to date in Korean as well. I have a translated version of the article on Sandbox. Would you mind reviewing it for accuracy as well as its compliance with Wikipedia guidelines? Thanks!--Chefmikesf (talk) 00:01, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi Chefmikesf, in response to your request for Korean language translation assistance. No where on the WikiProject Korea page lists me as a translator or fluent in Korean, [14].
Another editor already pointed out to you that a Korean article already exists for Bottega Veneta at ko:보테가 베네타, so there is no need to recreate the entire article., so you will have to make edits on that existing article, whether large or small, it isn't necessary to recreate the entire article, as you have done.
You seem to be seeking translations for multiple languages for articles that you are a paid contributor to create and/or update. Park Yoo Chun

Park Yoo-chun denied for connection with Burning Sun scandal because his former fiancee was arrested for drugs by --Sunuraju (talk) 04:08, 11 April 2019 (UTC) Thank you Sunu, for the time being, I have removed Yoo-chun's name completely, and will not add his statement about not being the celebrity that supplied drugs to her, which was not added to Burning Sun page. I had thought before, that unless he is investigated by police, his being her previous boyfriend was not necessary to mention. Thank you for the citation and letting me know. I hope you agree with my changes.--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 04:21, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

Burning Sun

Hello Bonnielou! Here in Korea “Burning Sun scandal” is most commonly referred to as “Burning Sun Gate”, which is why I edited it. Regarding Seungri’s involvement in it, he was a PR manager and not executive producer. There is also no need to drop his name in direct link to the chat rooms, which he’s never participated in.

Best regards, Ji Jizibe (talk) 09:42, 25 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi there Ji, thanks for responding here. I know that the Korean Wikipedia page calls the scandal Burning Sun Victory Gate (버닝썬 - 승리 게이트), but for the English page, we must use the English name given to it. And, as with all the information we add, we must be able to refer to that in an attached reference or citation. Most of the time it is called Burning Sun scandal, and less often, it is called Burning Sun club scandal. Like the name of the club itself....in Korean it is called Club Burning Sun, but in English we say Burning Sun Club.
Also, the same with Seungri's title at the club, most newspapers called him an Executive Director, or Director....and he was one of 7 Directors, according to one citation. So the most used title for him is also used on the page.
As to saying that he was a member of the chat rooms of Jung Joon-young's....again many citations say that he was a member. And where it is referenced on the page, a citation is attached to that sentence where you will find it said (in that article) that he was a member.
I am very careful with citations, and like to attach one to almost every sentence, although we do not have to for Wikipedia.
The newspapers in English are often writing Yoo or Yu, or Yoon or Yun, or Junwon or Cheonwon.....so even with Korean names, I am trying to use the most often romanticized spellings of the Korean names.
The scandal has been very upsetting for many people, and the information has been in small pieces, in many different newspapers. And sometimes the information is not true or varies from one newspaper to another, as the event is current. So the page will change many times to make it correct.
I am sorry that I cannot agree with the changes you want to make, and I hope you understand. It is, also, a little easier to make one edit, at a time, and add the new citation along with each change that you are making. Again, thanks for your response.--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 10:22, 25 April 2019 (UTC)

re: Burning Sun

Groovy. I did not see the info about Yang Hyun Suk in the intro section, no. Ofc it's cool to rmv it, although I do think some quote from him would be good -- his leaving YG is arguably the most serious fallout from the scandal, imo. Min Suk's resignation as CEO, however, was cited from different article. You might consider if you can work it in somewhere. Eaglizard (talk) 06:27, 16 June 2019 (UTC)

Thanks Eaglizard, I meant that Min-suk was not mentioned during the Burning Sun scandal, or at least not on the page. The quote from Hyun-suk might work well on his page Yang Hyun-suk, as well as info. about Min-suk.--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 01:04, 17 June 2019 (UTC)

List of K-pop songs on the Billboard charts

Hi Bonnielou2013, i made some changes to add wikilink and add references for Mainstream Top 40 but i found it on this source [16] it written BTS - Dynamite Peaked at #5 on 1.16.2021 while in Mainstream Top 40 it written Peaked at #5 on 2020-12-19 for 1 week. And can we add references for all songs in peak position column from the source i mentioned above? Thanks before. Michaelelijahtanuwijaya (talk) 05:00, 5 February 2021 (UTC)

Hi Michael! Thank you for your detailed attention to this K-pop chart page! As noted in the key at the top of the page "This list depends on continual updates....." and many editors have helped keep it as up-to-date and accurate as possible!
The Billboard charts page has been around since 2004 and constantly changes with the different charts that come and go, and the charts page does not include all present or past charts! The chart you reference on this K-pop page is Mainstream Top 40 and that chart page refers to several titles that have been used for it..."The Mainstream Top 40 Airplay (also called Pop Airplay, Pop Songs, and Top 40/CHR"...and the current title you will find when searching is "Pop Airplay". The title changes are sometimes not mentioned by the magazine Billboard and are sometimes not easy to keep up with. And sometimes the charts are discontinued with no notice, they just disappear. And unfortunately, the subscription pages cannot be archived to be retrieved later.
The chart history for the artist BTS that you refer to [17] which shows the song Dynamite peaking at #5 on 2021-01-16 is a different chart, MAINSTREAM TOP 40 RECURRENTS, found here [18].
The chart referred to as Mainstream Top 40 on the K-pop page is accurate, Dynamite peaked at #5 on 2020-12-19, found on BTS artist history here [19] where the title of the chart is yet another one "Mainstream Top 40 Airplay". The chart can now be found, as I said above, at its current title "Pop Airplay", here: [20].
As you can see, the titles and data are easy to confuse and many editors have helped keep things fairly good on the K-pop page. If you would like, or when I have time, you could add the new chart information you found for BTS with a new chart (not Complete), of course! It is exciting to add a new chart that pops up with a K-pop charting, but as the key explains, Psy's many accomplishments are not all listed. Maybe we need to include the name "BTS" in that, too.....it is hard to keep up with all their accomplishments!
As to the wikilinks you added for song names, thanks for that, many editors have helped link to new song pages that were created later. I, however, don't see a need to link to the album's Track Listing, especially for a song that did not reach #1 or even the top 10.
And, to your good suggestion to add an artist page reference to the Peak column, I think it is necessary only for #1 where the Peak date is a different date than the Entry date. Please be mindful that the Peak date listed on the Artist history is not always the song's entry date, which is listed in the first column of the charts on the K-pop page. I think you know this, though, with your thoughtful review.
I see that you create and edit K-drama pages a lot! I have watched over 450 at this point and keep a list! But, seeing your great eye for K-pop charting, I hope that you continue to help edit the chart pages, too! Thanks and nice talking to you!--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 14:01, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for your warm response. I'm so sorry it's my fault. You're right is different chart. I didn't see that "reccurent" word and didn't aware too there is antoher mainstream top 40 airplay chart.
Do you mean add Mainstream Top 40 Recurrent Airplay chart?
For Monsta X songs wikilink, i see other groups have a wikilink for their songs on the list. But when i try to add wikilink, wikipage for them song is already made to redirected in another wikipage and i can't make new page for this two Monsta X songs cause that so i add wikilink to their Album track listing.
Ok for the peak column reference is just my suggestion to give valid resources cause my experience in another wikipage some users always try to edit with misinformation so giving the resources can validate the true information.
It's just little edits from me. There is many user have much edits than me. You're welcome. Thanks and nice to meet you too. Michaelelijahtanuwijaya (talk) 22:27, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
Hi Michael Sorry for late reply, I will respond more later. Yes, the Mainstream Top 40 Recurrent Airplay chart could be added or any others that are missing.--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 15:37, 9 February 2021 (UTC)

Japan Hot 100 section of List of K-pop songs on the Billboard charts

Hi Bonnielou2013, I noticed you removed completely the Japan Hot 100 section of the List of K-pop songs on the Billboard charts, I have been checking that section to know the chart history of lot of kpop song in that chart since 2018, so I really don't understand why was suddenly removed since this change you did and the resume 07:04, 23 February 2021‎ Bonnielou2013 talk contribs‎ 194,053 bytes −53,012‎ →‎Japan Hot 100 (Complete): remove last Asian (international) don't add a justifiable reason, I want to add that section again and updating it with the last changes since the date it was removed so I want to talk to you about it. TWICEcoasterLane0 (talk) 05:51, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

Hi TWICEcoasterLane0 and welcome to the on-going discussion which you may find at Talk:List of K-pop songs on the Billboard charts#Page is too large, consider creating standalone articles. I have copied your comment above to that page and will respond there. Thanks.--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 01:01, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for the answer, I will move to there --TWICEcoasterLane0 (talk) 19:50, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
