Tai-pop

Tai-pop 台語/閩南歌 (also known as Minnan pop or Hokkien) or Hokkien pop is currently a thriving business in Taiwan and has also spreaded to South East Asia, where a large population of Hokkien-speakers are. It's classified as a C-pop genre and the main production center is based in Taiwan.

Please do not delete the entry under C-pop table.

I am not going to revert it anymore. But how about some sources if you are that positive. Benjwong (talk) 01:28, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

I have nominated Yuen Wai-hung, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Yuen Wai-hung. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. WWGB (talk) 11:03, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 edits

Hi Benjwong. Good luck with the article above. If you could offer me some feedback on your reasons for reverting my edits to the article noted above I would appreciate it. Is it the content, placement, style, etc., that you object to. Thanks. MJE519 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mje519 (talkcontribs) 13:07, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

That entire paragraph can go two ways. You can say the exact opposite. Please provide some sources. Benjwong (talk) 02:48, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Please note the reference is moved to the original content, not the whole fact. English is my native language thank you very much. -WikiSkeptic (talk) 15:08, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Admin Kwami

Hello, I was wondering if you are interested in starting a Wikipedia:Requests for comment/User conduct/Creation (WP:RFC/U:Admin) on Kwamikagami (talk · contribs) , seeing as Kwami again unilaterally moved the Cantonese article after a WP:RM without any notice or reason, on the April 23rd, setting off another revert/rename cycle.

I myself cannot, since I am an IP user and do not have page creation rights.

I have also asked user:Colipon and user:Ohconfucius on this issue.

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:59, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

The article 2010 Legislative Council Building graffiti incident has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I don't understand how putting graffiti on a building is worthy of a Wikipedia article.

Please expand on why this is significant.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. mboverload@ 04:42, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

I won't AfD the article but I'm still trying to understand how this is important. People write on buildings all the time? --mboverload@ 04:47, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
Please follow the recent political events in the region to better understand the scale of these graffiti and what it means. The incident is barely reported. Benjwong (talk) 04:52, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
Could you put why put that in the article? If I'm not understanding then someone else may not either. Would make the article better. mboverload@ 05:41, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
Should we put in the article that anti-communist activities is seriously not allowed in the territory? What are you looking for? What is the article missing. You cannot delete articles if you don't understand it. I don't understand alot of articles on wiki. There are thousands of article in far worse conditions than this. Benjwong (talk) 05:46, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
I expanded on the intro. Hopefully it makes more sense to the general readers not following the political events. Benjwong (talk) 05:56, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
Yes, thank you. Sorry for being so terse =(. Thanks for making a new article. --mboverload@ 05:57, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

A little favour to ask

Hi Benjwong! It has been a long time, but I forgot the process in putting that 25s music sample for a song on wikipedia. Can give me a quick crash course again by any chance? Thank you so much, Sifu! Dengero (talk) 14:04, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi, just convert your CD with itunes or some tools to wav. There are many freeware programs that can edit wav files to 25s. Then convert your wav to ogg with more freeware. Upload the ogg file to wiki afterwards. I am no sifu. Benjwong (talk) 01:46, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:GordianWarriorTitle.jpg. Proposed Tibetan naming conventions

A few months ago, I posted a new proposal for Tibetan naming conventions, i.e. conventions that can be used to determine the most appropriate titles for articles related to the Tibetan region. This came out of discussions about article titles on Talk:Qamdo and Talk:Lhoka (Shannan) Prefecture. I hope that discussions on the proposal's talk page will lead to consensus in favour of making these conventions official, but so far only a few editors have left comments. If you would be interested in taking a look at the proposed naming conventions and giving your opinion, I would definitely appreciate it. Thanks — Nat Krause(Talk!·What have I done?) 22:05, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Republic of China municipal elections, 2010

Hi there,

The below discussion stems around the sentence "On November 30, 2010 four of the DPP candidates Tsai Ing-wen, Chen Chu, William Lai and Su Jia-chyuan (蘇嘉全) were labeled the new Four Heavenly Kings" in the opening passage of Republic of China municipal elections, 2010 page.

It is certainly an interesting viewpoint, however I was wondering whether it seemed suitable for such a comment to appear in the introductory passage. Firstly, despite the fact that the reasoning behind such a comment to be made seems to stem from the results of the 2010 elections, yet it does not seem to hold direct relevance to the election itself. Secondly, the idea of the "Four Heavenly Kings" is not really "official" within the DPP, it seemed to be a creation of the media reports back in the days when there was storm of people fighting it out in the DPP Presidential primaries. Thirdly, the wording of the setence seemed to imply that the DPP itself "named" these four candidates as the new Four Heavenly Kings, which isn't true.

As a result of the reasons mentioned above, I have decided to move the comment into an "Implications and Reactions" section, which is paralled in the chinese version of the article. I think the comment may also be worth mentioning in the 2012 presidential article too. It now reads (in the Republic of China municipal elections, 2010 article), "# Taiwanese political scientist Hsu Yung-Ming believed that the elections signalled the era of the new "Four Heavenly Kings" Tsai Ing-wen, Chen Chu, William Lai and Su Jia-chyuan within the Democratic Progressive Party".

Cheers,
