I am really suprised to see a A7 tag on this article. Did you tagged A7 by mistake or you really understood the article? --Anbu121 (talk me) 08:54, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Translating it from Tamil-->English using google translate provides a surprisingly grammatically accurate article. Plus the logo. Dengero (talk) 09:13, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I wonder what does Logo and grammar has to do with A7. --Anbu121 (talk me) 09:30, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The article is about a broadcast company launched this year with no references except it's official page, it fits the definition of "unremarkable company", and hence, A7. Dengero (talk) 10:13, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the BLPPROD on the article as it wasn't applied legally. There was a reference, the official website, present. A BLPPROD requires no references at all. I did apply a regular PROD as Raef has yet to release any music. Bgwhite (talk) 23:41, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hasty use of delete tags

[edit]

Normally editors nominating new articles for deletion are expected to wait some time to make sure the editor has not simply got up to get a cup of coffee. They should also look at who is contributing the new article and if it is an autoreviewer assume that the editor is not producing something with no sources. I'm not massively impressed. In ictu oculi (talk) 05:42, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You should create it in a subpage, improve it until you are satisfied before moving it to the designated title you want it to be. This way, you can improve it in your own time slowly, cut down the amount of work patrollers need to do, and prevent this whole scenario from happening =) Dengero (talk) 13:40, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well can we give it sometime then? I'll get it up to speed pretty soon. The point is its participating in the Federal Tourism programs, Moscow tourism. The city and country is putting in a lot of money into supporting tourism and western-style businesses - and this is a good example - especially since its the first Federal (meaning, in more than one city) hostel chain in Russia. That makes it pretty notable. In the end, its much more notable and interesting than Ilavia for example, which doesn't even exist anymore. I'll add more references and information as I go along. Hope for your understanding. XAKxRUSx (talk) 13:46, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

More hasty speedy deletion tagging

[edit]

Here's another example. You have already been asked by several editors to slow down. Wikipedia:New pages patrol advises waiting at least 15 minutes after creation before tagging new pages (except for attack pages). Please listen to what people are saying and follow this advice rather than continually making excuses. Phil Bridger (talk) 16:07, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly, they are not excuses, but valid reasons. At this volume of speedy deletions you are bound to get a few disgruntled creators complaining on one's talk page. Secondly, I will always admit to fault where due, so there is no need to be all tut tut about it. And lastly, I dislike the tone of your message. But in the spirit of Wikipedia, thank you for your kind advice and happy editing! =D Dengero (talk) 23:08, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No, there's no valid reason for tagging an article for speedy deletion under WP:CSD#A7 a minute after creation. And there's nothing at all wrong with the tone of a message asking you to accept advice and follow consensus-agreed procedures. Phil Bridger (talk) 23:43, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I declined your speedy deletion request for this article, as it contains a credible assertion of notability (i.e. Mr. Ali's status as a finalist on the TV program Sur Kshetra), and for this reason speedy deletion is not appropriate. If you still believe that it should be deleted, please feel free to take it to AFD. -Hit bull, win steak(Moo!) 16:58, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Dengero. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know however, that tagging articles for speedy deletion moments after creation as lacking context (CSD A1), content (CSD A3) and articles created through the Article Wizard, is too fast. It's best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), pure vandalism (G3), and copyright violations (G12) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. THE SPEEDY DELETION ON JEREMY VINCENT GARRETT BIO--TWICE

Hi. I read your post. Once again, you all took it upon yourselves to delete my personal bio page on the actor Jeremy Vincent Garrett of "Sweet Valley High" and "Legacy" fame. Why?

It was well-researched. I added links to the appropriate source sites. It was accurate. It was well-written. Well originally, it was especially well-written. But... you all said you wanted the source to be unbiased. So I tried not to make it so opinionated. Not such an editorial. So I did. I even made a clear distinguished contrast from him and Jeremy Garrett. So... what's the glitch? I have to ask.

Come on. I want my synopsis on Garrett back up. I worked hard on it. And I contribute a lot to you guys. A LOT. Check my history.-User:DANE YOUSSEF

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! New deal for page patrollers

[edit]

Hi Dengero,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:28, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
