Disambiguation link notification
Hi. When you recently edited 2012 Anti-Cantonese campaign, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mandarin (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Your contributed article, Snow Kid
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Snow Kid. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Snowkid. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Snowkid - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Zzaffuto118 (talk) 05:21, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

Translation request: Startling by Each Step to 步步驚心 (電視劇)
Hi, I'm NeoBatfreak. The reason I'm writing is that I am requesting translation of the plot summary of Startling by Each Step to 步步驚心 (電視劇). If possible, please tranlate the summary and paste the translated text on my talk page. PLEASE? Thank you very much.--NeoBatfreak (talk) 00:29, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
- Hi. It is best that I not translate this. I have not seen this drama. I don't even know if the description in zh.wiki is right. Please talk to other editors like User:Lonelydarksky, User:Darkreason, User:Stormedelf, User:Ricky@36. Maybe they have seen it. It definitely has some well known HK actors in there. Categorisation of Hong Kong and Macau
Can you help look into the following problem? From what I observed, many Hong Kong and Macau categories are subcats of the corresponding by-country parent categories (by their status of dependencies), and are subcats of the corresponding China or PRC categories with a <spacebar>Macau or <spacebar>Hong Kong catsort (in some cases an asterisk is used instead in place of the <spacebar> tho). But when I apply it to other categories, SchmuckyTheCat (talk · contribs) undid them en masse. Please response at WP talk:Categorisation. 218.250.159.25 (talk) 20:54, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
- I'll leave a comment. Benjwong (talk) 02:22, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
I just want to comment that this edit is both wrong and irrelevant. The edit gave the incorrect implication that all vehicles from mainland China will be able to enter Hong Kong freely, and is a mis-representation of the cited source. Hong Kong mainland China driving scheme is irrelevant to the article anyway, because it has nothing to do with the driving side: Hong Kong continues to drive on the left, and the mainland on the right. Deryck C. 21:26, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
- But according to that edit I did not reference it for the sentence about driving on the left/right? I referenced it for letting mainland citizens in. Benjwong (talk) 02:22, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
- Yes that's what I mean - the scheme you referenced has absolutely nothing to do with driving side. Deryck C. 10:39, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
- Ok. I know what you mean now. You are saying the sides are not changed. That is still true. Sorry for confusion. Feel free to change as you need. Benjwong (talk) 12:56, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

Chief executive election
I would like to ask what topic area this edit concerns. I wasn't following it in the press, but now looking at the article, it seems utterly unclear. Can you help clarify? --Ohconfucius ¡digame! 02:45, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
- Let me reply on the page. Benjwong (talk) 05:35, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
Actually let me reply here. That section explains a mix of indecisions of the candidates. It summarizes a number of topics regarding whether candidates want to continue or drop out of the election. For example it explains why Rita Fan is no longer in the race. Or how Tang's affairs affected the election. If it is unclear I am open to splitting it up or moving the section around. I am even open to adding a section to the indecisiveness of Beijing, for putting candidates like Jasper Tsang into the race with 1 month left without a campaign. Benjwong (talk) 05:54, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
- You seem very insistent on keeping text concerning Yu Wing-yin, having reinserted it at least twice. In edit summaries, you have questioned fellow editors of acting in bad faith with accusations of "censorship" and "vandalism". After having allowed the said text to remain for some time to judge the relevance, I can only concur with the said two editors that it is extremely marginal; those facts you highlight seem distinctly as if you are seeking to score political points. I have thus removed it. Kindly take it up on the talk page of you wish to restore it, and do not engage in further edit warring. Cheers, --Ohconfucius ¡digame! 16:48, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
Please stop
Your recent editing history at Hong Kong Chief Executive election, 2012 shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
The article 2011 Anshun incident has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- The incident doesn't have lasting notability - and appears to be result of routine news reporting
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Russavia ლ(ಠ益ಠლ) 00:40, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

John Liu
I just took a look at the John Liu page after seeing the news that another one of his campaign staffers was arrested on wire fraud charges. The section on controversies needed work, so I expanded it drawing mainly on the series of articles published in the New York Times last fall. Now the page is sort of off-balance, however. If you have some time, maybe you can take a look. I'm thinking more details should be added on other sections. Homunculus (duihua) 20:09, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

Please could I ask you to keep it civil; address the issues and not attack others' motivations? The comment about me at the AfD is borderline, but the edits I pointed out above are over the line, IMHO. --Ohconfucius ¡digame! 02:30, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
- Believe me, I am not getting personal. I was just pointing out what appears to be yielding to the trend. And is not a good trend to begin with. 90,000 disturbances should probably come out to 10,000 articles. Obviously we don't have that many editors. Benjwong (talk) 02:37, 8 March 2012 (UTC)

Linkrot
I notice that you often cite from Chinese websites. As may be demonstrated here, many of these sites suffer greatly from linkrot. I would urge you to pre-emptively archive important sources with webcitation.org to avoid such problems at a later date. Cheers, --Ohconfucius ¡digame! 03:23, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- Is not my fault if those property tycoons can afford to buy-out every web article that talk negative things about them. I'll look into webcitation.org certainly. Give me some time to try it out. Benjwong (talk) 04:44, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

We'd appreciate it very much if you could consider granting the copyright and let us use for free in this non-profit and educational project. And could you provide this photo with a high resolution?
Thanks and looking forward to your reply.

File source problem with File:HK1997a.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:HK1997a.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. File permission problem with File:HK1997a.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:HK1997a.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:32, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:FishingChild.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:FishingChild.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
