Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome!

Hello, Bagoto, and thank you for your contributions!

I wanted to let you know it seems an article you worked on, Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women, Its Causes and Consequences, is copied from another Wikipedia page, Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women its Causes and Consequences. It's fine to do this as long as you provide the following information in the edit summary:

  1. a link to the article you copied from
  2. the date you copied it

You can do this now by editing the page, making any minor edit to the article, and adding the above information into the edit summary.

If you're still not sure how to fix the problem, please leave a message at the help desk. It's possible that I made a mistake, so feel free to remove the tag I placed on the article.

Thanks again for helping build the free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 15:11, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Non-governmental organization, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Third sector (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I have noticed that some of your recent genre changes, such as the one you made to Late Registration, have conflicted with our neutral point of view and verifiability policies. Hello, Bagoto,

The Editing team is asking very experienced editors like you for your help with VisualEditor. The team has a list of top-priority problems, but they also want to hear about small problems. These problems may make editing less fun, take too much of your time, or be as annoying as a paper cut. The Editing team wants to hear about and fix these small things, too.

You can share your thoughts by clicking this link. You may respond to this quick, simple, anonymous survey in your own language. If you take the survey, then you agree your responses may be used in accordance with these terms. Hi. Please don't restore Baeble Music and Earbuddy. Check out both their sites. Baeble Music calls itself a blog in its own header. Orphaned non-free image File:Gaslighting America (Amanda Carpenter book) X300.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Gaslighting America (Amanda Carpenter book) X300.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:12, 9 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, @B-bot. The image is now used. Bagoto (talk) 11:47, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The file File:Gaslighting America (Amanda Carpenter book) X300.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:DECORATIVE non-free use in Amanda Carpenter#Career in media and politics which fails WP:NFCC#8. Non-free book cover art generally can be uploaded and used when done for primary identification purposes at the top of or in the main infobox of stand-alone articles about books themselves per item 1 of WP:NFCI, but other types or non-free uses or uses in other articles is pretty much not allowed for the reasons explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3. This file was originally uploaded and used in Gaslighting America, but that article was deleted. The file was then moved to Amanda Carpenter, most likely under the assumption that this wouldn't be an issue. The non-free use rationale was never updated to reflect this new use, so the file also currently fails WP:NFCC#10c. There's no real way to resolve the NFCC#10c issue that would also satisfy NFCC#8 unless some sourced critical commentary can be found about this particular book's cover (not the book, but the cover art itself) and that can be added to the Carpenter article. Without doing this, simply adding a non-free use rationale for the use in the Carpenter article wouldn't be valid per WP:JUSTONE.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:15, 27 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). Album of the Year is included at WP:ALBUMAVOID

[edit]

Hello. Regarding this edit, please avoid citing the website Album of the Year as it is listed at WP:ALBUMAVOID. Also, WP:CITELEAD applies: the album received acclaim from critics because of its inclusion on year-end lists and its rating from Pitchfork, which are listed in the critical reception section, so there's no need for the citation anyway. In case you were sourcing anything else, its release date is really not a contentious detail—at the very least, we shouldn't use Album of the Year, which is a WP:USERG source, to cite it. Thanks. I am not familiar with Philippine architecture and I have seen you are active in editing topics related to it; maybe you can help populate the category? Thanks. You're welcome, Sanglahi86. And thanks for creating the Category where the "Capiz shell window" article specifically belongs. All right, I'll do my best. I'm actually looking forward to creating articles on the "banggera" and the "batalan" next. Thanks for your trust. Bagoto (talk) 02:37, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hi Bagoto. Thank you for your work on Capiz shell window. Another editor, Moriwen, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

This was a really interesting article! You should definitely submit it to WP:DYK if you haven't already.

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Moriwen}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

@Moriwen: Thanks for your comment re the article. I would be happy to see the subject mentioned in the DYK section. However, it does seem that, since it was created on 9 August, it does not anymore pass the WP:DYK#New rule. Bagoto (talk) 06:22, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ventanilla lead image

[edit]

Hi. I have seen this image of a ventanilla in Commons. Though it is closed, the ventanilla is centered on the photo and is the main focus of the image. Do you think it is a better lead image than the current one? Sanglahi86 (talk) 15:07, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I think it's a better image. Then again, might it be best to merge the two photos? Bagoto (talk) 23:29, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Or do a cropped version of the first photo before merging it with this second one? Bagoto (talk) 23:31, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Now that I think about it, by itself, the closed ventanilla image may be mistaken as merely being part of the wall. So yes, it might be better to use both images in the lead for those unfamiliar with the architectural feature. Maybe we can use {{Photo montage}}? Yes, let's see. In the meantime, I applied your suggested image, with the necessary caption to address your concern. Bagoto (talk) 08:19, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks. I also created a Commons category for the feature so that it can be populated. Regards. Sanglahi86 (talk) 08:32, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Good idea! Thanks, @Sanglahi86. Bagoto (talk) 08:39, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
