Wow!!!
[edit]I noticed you contributed to one of my articles (Gustav Suits) and I looked at your other contributions - then noticed your userpage says you can speak Estonian!!! How interesting and how valuable to Wikipedia. I can speak a limited amount of Estonia (I have Estonian heritage and a deep interest in the country). I wonder if you could help me to learn Estonian, and I'm sure you'd be able to translate articles from an Estonian Wikipedia or encyclopedia into our English Wikipedia. Anyway, it's great to have another Estonian around, especially one who is fluent in the language!! If you need anything, please leave a message on my talk page. =) Srose (talk) 19:01, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
- I'd be honored to receive your instruction and, of course, if you feel up to it, Wikipedia could use some more articles about Estonians and Estonia in general!!! It's so tough to find someone capable of speaking Estonian in the US; my grandfather can speak Estonian but not very well, as he was very young when he left the country. Feel free to email me by clicking on the "email me" link on my user page. =) Srose (talk) 21:02, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
Ene article created
[edit]Hi, Ave! I just thought I'd let you know that I copyedited and posted the Ene article. I gave you credit on both of our created article pages, and I have to say that I am honored by your link to me on your userpage! :) My email server is temporarily down and I will probably take a nap soon (I got up very early; although it's now 10:50 in the morning in my time zone I got up much earlier than I'm accustomed to during the summer). I'll email you when I wake up from my nap.
Additionally, I have to say I'm incredibly impressed with all of your edits. Estonia will soon have equal representation, thanks to your hard work! :) Srose (talk) 14:51, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Hello! Thanks for answering me. This translation I know, I have a metal version of this one. It's the translation of the original soviet anthem. Proposed deletion of Johann Urb
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Johann Urb, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Speedy deletion nomination of SuperNoova
[edit]A tag has been placed on SuperNoova requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Guy0307 (talk) 07:19, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I stumbled across this news article Wikipedia:Wikipedia_Signpost/2009-05-18/Multilingual_contests. I was wondering if there was an actual prize handed out? Was the prize something material or just recognition? Thanks, MahangaTalk 19:03, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
- The main prize for Estonian language winner was a trip to Norway (Oslo) and for Norwegian languages was a trip to Estonia (Tallinn). Avjoska (talk) 21:07, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Joe Cobden
[edit]A tag has been placed on Joe Cobden requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. - Your article was deleted because it said no more than "Joe Cobden (born October 7, 1978 in Halifax, Nova Scotia) is an American actor." Wikipedia gets new articles at a rate of more than one a minute, many of which are one-liners like that; it would be good if the volunteer New Page Patrollers had time to check each one out, see if they are real and notable, look for sources, and expand them, but they don't, so unless an article gives some clear indication that its subject meets Wikipedia's requirement of notability it is likely to be speedily deleted. There is nothing to stop you putting the article in again, but read Your First Article first to understand what you need to do to make an acceptable article, particularly the need for references. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 20:15, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Avjoska! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 57 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

You are now a Reviewer
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 04:57, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
[edit]Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:35, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

There are prizes to reward contributors in the Gibraltarpedia Multilingual challenge for the best editors, photographs and cartographers... whoever you are. More at Gibraltarpedia.org |

The article Igor Kotjuh has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Vanjagenije (talk) 00:58, 16 July 2014 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. I see you are listed as a member of a WikiProject of a Baltic state. I was wondering if anybody who actively works on Estonian, Lithuanian or Latvian articles, would be interested in launching your own Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Baltic), based on the Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic) and Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea would be to try to bring about 1000 article improvements and creations on this region as an enjoyable challenge and potentially things like National Contests with prizes. If you'd be interested and think it's something you might regularly contribute to, comment and sign up at Talk:Baltic states. If there is interest we can move this to a project somewhere and set something up, thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 19:26, 26 September 2016 (UTC)
Europe 10,000 Challenge invite
[edit]Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:22, 6 November 2016 (UTC)

Demonstration in support of Ukraine moved to draftspace

[edit]Hello, I'm Robby.is.on. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Vahur Afanasjev, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Robby.is.on (talk) 11:10, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
Hello, when you add people to the Deaths in 2021 page, please note that they should be in alphabetical order under each day. Thank you. --Marbe166 (talk) 11:16, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
- And they should have an English Wikipedia article if they were deceased more than one month ago (your addition in Deaths in November 2020 does not - it was a redlink and has been removed in line with consensus). I cannot stress too much how detrimental it is to your editing reputation to carry out blanket deletions of valid and researched data, as you did during your edits to Deaths in November 2020 (another editor thankfully restored the missing information). - I know how detrimental it is to my editing reputation to carry out blanket deletions of valid and researched data. I think it was some kind of mistake in system. I was surprised to find out i have done it. I was even more surprised to find out I can't restore it myself. Avjoska (talk) 11:11, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message
[edit]The article Merle Veesalu-Rand has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
clearly doesn't meet WP:SIGCOV
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Estopedist1 (talk) 08:16, 7 February 2022 (UTC)
