It's unclear why you reverted IABot. I can find nothing wrong with the edit. -- GreenC 14:50, 30 April 2017 (UTC)

Ah if you mean the last link to WebCite not working. That requires help from the community. Login to the IABot interface and update the database so IABot knows that link is not working. Explained on the article's talk page with links where to go and what to do. -- GreenC 14:54, 30 April 2017 (UTC)
Will you restore the archive link to http://connect.afi.com/site/DocServer/quotes100.pdf?docID=242 which is not working? -- GreenC 14:56, 30 April 2017 (UTC)

Declined PROD at Destination Imagination

I note that you declined the PROD that I tagged on Destination Imagination on the ground that it had survived a previous AfD in 2008. Should there not be some means of letting lesser mortals know of previous AfDs ? I was unaware and nor could I have been aware of the previous AfD unless I was a current admin (which I am obviously not). As an admin could you not perhaps promote an RfC to ensure that past deletion histories are summarised on article talk pages, if would help greatly and avoid a waste of ordinary editors time. Incidentally, I would regard it as a great travesty of logic for an article without a single independent reference to survive an AfD; but then logical process and decisions at AfD have often seemed to be running in dichotomous directions. CXT/Pages to review

Hi, Atlantic306,

Thanks for helping out with the review of the X2 articles in the list at WP:AN/CXT/PTR. I notice you approve a high percentage of the items you look at, and I'm just wondering what your methodology is. I'm looking at this sequence of edits and I see that you okayed articles in that batch that were originally translated from Dutch, Portuguese, Romanian, Telugu, and Welsh. Do you have some level of familiarity with these languages, or how are you able to verify that the translations of these articles are okay? Cordially, Mathglot (talk) 03:27, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

CSD-G11 usage

I had to remove your tag from Mester Gyula. A resume of a reasonably academic scientist does not qualify under this criteria unless it is full of WP:PEACOCK. Even in the latter case a simple ani-PEACOCK cleanup will do. If you disagree, I would like to see your arguments discussed in WT:CSD. Staszek Lem (talk) 22:40, 15 May 2017 (UTC)

New Page Review - Newsletter No.4

Hello Atlantic306,

Since rolling out the right in November, just 6 months ago, we now have 803 reviewers, but the backlog is still mysteriously growing fast. If every reviewer did just 55 reviews, the 22,000 backlog would be gone, in a flash, schwoop, just like that!

But do remember: Rather than speed, quality and depth of patrolling and the use of correct CSD criteria are essential to good reviewing. Do not over-tag. Make use of the message feature to let the creator know about your maintenance tags. See the tutorial again HERE. Get help HERE.

Stay up to date with recent new page developments and have your say, read THIS PAGE.

page Buried Seeds

Hello Atlantic306, Thank you for reviewing the page Buried Seeds. I believe deletion of almost the entire article and images was a mistake and I kindly request your review. I have indeed accidentally reverted your deletion of the first version of the synopsis and I appreciate catching the similarity to IMDB. In fact on the contrary, in the latest version the synopsis was rewritten based on a sources different from IMDB. There was absolutely no copyvio and all sources were accurately provided. I ask you to kindly restore the article or provide specific areas to improve rather than deleting most of the content. Thank you very much. - Sungoesup — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sungoesup (talkcontribs) 20:16, 22 May 2017 (UTC)

Why new wikipedia article is not indexed in google search engine?

Hi, It is almost a week since the article "St. Joseph's institute of management, Bangalore" was published in wikipedia. However, it does not yet appear in google search result? What is the reason? Any solution for this? Frmanoj (talk) 02:50, 29 May 2017 (UTC)

Robert Ferns Waller Referencing

Hello there, thanks for your comments on the Robert Ferns Waller page. I've now added some references pointing to the online obituaries. Are they sufficient to remove the sources banner at the top of the page? (the obituaries have basically drawn their information from the other sources cited). CCA Page

Greetings, thanks for flagging the Canadian Communication Association page. We did add three academic journal article (3/5) sources. Doesn't the flag seem a bit excessive considering this? Or is it just meant to encourage further editing? Best, Jaobar (talk) 20:34, 1 June 2017 (UTC)

The Canadian Journal of Communication does not seem to be independent of the association, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 22:45, 1 June 2017 (UTC)
Atlantic306, while I see your point, suggesting that the CJC is an internal source is incorrect. It is true that there is an affiliation; however, academic articles are not overseen by the CCA. They are written by independent authors, at different academic institutions, edited and published by academics with CCA memberships who are not marketers or publicists. It is my understanding that your flag is more commonly used to identify articles where concerns about marketing and advertising are more obvious. While I appreciate your concern here, as well as the concerns of Diannaa, which I have commented on here, it does appear that these edits are a bit excessive, considering the consensus determined with similar articles for similar associations. Best, --Jaobar (talk) 18:34, 2 June 2017 (UTC)
Hi, I'm not implying advertising as there is a specific tag for that its just that clearly independent refs are best so if you can find at least another 2 refs that have significant coverage of the CCA not from the CJC or CCA the tag can be removed, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 20:52, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

Jacki Page

Dear Atlantic306, Thanks for reviewing this page. I have had the sections which required citations removed. Also, had the COI items removed. Could your help me remove the error boxes? thanks Majixdesign (talk) 03:07, 25 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi, it still needs inline citations for each of the facts, the coi tag should stay for the timebeing, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 12:12, 25 May 2017 (UTC)
Could you help me point out areas, I could check for citations, thanks Majixdesign (talk) 07:56, 26 May 2017 (UTC)
Firstly, the introduction, early life and infobox all need inline citations and then adding citations to the filmography would be very good. Please see WP:Reliable sources and WP:Referencing for beginners, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 12:33, 26 May 2017 (UTC)
Each fact only needs to be referenced once so for example his birthday only needs to be referenced in the text or the infobox but not both, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 13:55, 26 May 2017 (UTC)

Rachel Burks

You commented on Rachel Burks of New Bell Music's talk page that she should change her username because it could be construed as advertising. I think you may need to review WP:USERNAME. Read this part:

However, usernames are acceptable if they contain a company or group name but are clearly intended to denote an individual person such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", "WidgetFan87", etc.

"Rachel Burks of New Bell Music" fits the definition of "clearly intended to denote an individual person". The person in question has now renamed to Rachel Burks, but keep this point in mind in the future. -A lad insane (Channel 2) 16:07, 12 June 2017 (UTC)

Today I added to the Tomasz Wójcik external links three new reference links.

I would like to hope that this is enough to get Tomasz Wójcik's website to return to normal status.

Best regards from Warsaw/Poland --Szczebrzeszynski (talk) 18:36, 17 June 2017 (UTC)

Can you try and find some more references such as newspapers or magazine articles, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 18:41, 17 June 2017 (UTC)

Tomasz Wójcik started as a poster designer in the early 1990s, when the newspaper editors kept their archives only in the form of paper prints, rather than on computer disks. Therefore references from this period are not available on the internet.

Wójcik is an outsider in the world of the Polish poster, he created himself an individual style of geometrical computer vector graphics. Therefore, the poster reviewers have difficulties to describe Wójcik’s posters.

I cited three reference articles from the 2000s: from “Dziennik Polski”, “Gazeta Wyborcza” and “Rzeczpospolita” newspapers and from four exhibition catalogs.

Despite my greatest efforts, I am not able to find more references available on the internet. I have exhausted all the possibilities to save this article. Please help! --Szczebrzeszynski (talk) 08:15, 18 June 2017 (UTC)

Music venues

Thanks for your input on the Ottobar page. It looks like you are a music lover and live in Scotland. Can you recommend any Ottobar-like (or Saint-like venues in Scotland? I'm creating a Clubs & Castles tour of Scotland (and maybe Ireland and Germany) for myself and a friend. No doubt some pictures from the tour will be used to illustrate WP articles. I'm more reluctant to commit to articles - they are more work. Lhcollins (talk) 03:03, 19 June 2017 (UTC)

PRODs of Japanese people

I've noticed you've been throwing up a lot of PRODs of Japanese historical figures. These articles are uncited, but the Japanese versions appear to be (for the most part) cited, suggesting the articles should be improved rather than deleted—there certainly don't seem to be any WP:NOTABILITY issues. I'd volunteer to transfer over the refs myself, but you're PRODding at such a rate that I doubt I could keep up. Curly "JFC" Turkey 🍁 ¡gobble! 23:02, 19 June 2017 (UTC)

Hi, Curly "JFC" Turkey I haven't actually prodded any of them I just added the prod edit summary with a dummy edit to make it clear whats going on as the actual prodder did not leave an edit summary, I actually deprodded one of them. I agree with your point and agree to you deprodding and adding refs if you choose to do so, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 23:08, 19 June 2017 (UTC)

Rubinacci (Brand)

Dear Atlantic306, I created the page for this tailor company: Rubinacci. I'm a researcher of the fashion industry and I've realized that there are not historical tailoring companies present in Wikipedia. I thought that the page I created for Rubinacci was interesting. I saw that you sentenced that was kind of advertising. So, I'll do it again, but your advice is to do it more informal not entering in subjective facts right? Thanks and I will be very grateful for your advice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sergimartinezcarulla (talkcontribs) 10:58, 22 June 2017 (UTC)

Dellamarie Parrilli

Atlantic306, thank you so much for the "thank you" notice re: my edits on the Dellamarie Parrilli page; I sure appreciate it. I saw that one or more unregistered user(s) was insistent on taking the article down, but the research I found and added should demonstrate in no uncertain terms that she is indeed notable and in fact has a pretty storied career.

The reason I am writing is that I suspect that the article may be eligible for a rating higher than "start class" at this time, and I would like to see if the article could potentially be reviewed and rated based on its adherence to Wikipedia standards. Are you able to review and rate articles? Or is there another way that I could request that the article be reviewed? Thank you in advance for your help.

Re article on Rod Diridon Sr

Dear Atlantic306 - Thank you for your comments. However, you are eliminating statements that are referenced and also editing out material in real time while I am adding the references. Please wait until I finish adding the references to edit or comment, or I will not be able to complete the referencing because the article keeps reverting to an earlier version without the information that I am referencing. This is interfering with the process of documenting the article. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Globalglo (talkGlobalglo (talk) 15:06, 3 July 2017 (UTC)contribs) 14:56, 3 July 2017 (UTC) Also, please note the citation in the article regarding the archived papers of Diridion Sr. As a public official, his papers are archived in the special collections of a public library, the Martin Luther King Library in San Jose. The papers are indexed, the index is available online, and they are publicly available through the library. That fact is cited in the Wikipedia article. Virtually all references for the article can be found in the archive, and specific citations to the archive are being provided in the Wikipedia article as appropriate. Deletion discussion about Twenty-Four Hours (TV program)

Hello, Atlantic306,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Twenty-Four Hours (TV program) should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Twenty-Four Hours (TV program) .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Mduvekot (talk) 13:16, 9 July 2017 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing from certain pages (Hetton-le-Hole) for a period of 48 hours for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  -- Amanda (aka DQ) 19:56, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
Given that I now see you used rollback to do this edit war and did it also back in 2019, with your block history, i've pulled your rollback. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 20:20, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
My block history is one previous block in July 2019 for one hour. At Hetton-le-Hole I was reverting vandalism which is not edit warring. IP vandals have been changing the description from town to village or city when it is obviously a town with a town council (see external links with the link to the Town Council). Last night I discussed it with the ip 80.225.208.29 (talk · contribs) and asked for page protection. Today an obvious sock of that ip now 79.65.78.3 (talk · contribs) resumed the same editing and it is obvious that they were not a good faith editor as they last edited their talkpage with a smiley and lol. Also I had earlier reported both ips to AIV. Overall then this is very unfair as I was and have been reverting vandalism at Hetton-le-Hole, Atlantic306 (talk) 21:25, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
You need to review WP:Vandalism. The IP's changes were not vandalism. Disruptive, probably yes, edit-warring, absolutely yes, but not vandalism. Also, some IP's are dynamic, so I'd say it's more likely the other editor was just assigned a new IP, rather than intentionally socking. You won't be getting your rollback back until you demonstrate you have an understanding of what vandalism is. Also, repeatedly rollbacking another user on their own talkpage was beyond inappropriate. You've been here for long enough, you should have known about WP:OWNTALK by now. Per WP:REMOVED, restoring talk page notices is not an exception to 3rr either, which you also broke on the IP's talk page. Sro23 (talk) 21:51, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
  • Did you look at the page history of Hetton-le-Hole and the various vandalism. Also the ips last comment of a smiley and lol showed it was obviously vandalism. I shouldn't have reverted on his talkpage but I wanted the notice to be visible for WP:AIN. Suppose i'll have to take this to AN, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 22:00, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
  • If you check the contributions of the first ip you can see it is a static ip, so the second ip was very probably a sockpuppet Atlantic306 (talk) 02:22, 4 July 2020 (UTC)

Hello,

the page Renato Feder was translated from the Wikipedia in Portuguese, but the Portuguese version itself will soon be deleted, as it has been suggested "elimination by consensus" and the majority of the users participating in the discussion want the page to be deleted. NagalandExpress Digital News is the only online news service from Nagaland State in India. With a population of around 21 lakhs, people of Nagaland depends this service.

While the formatting itself was probably off due to the base article being so old, it is relevant. Are you deleting it out of a sense of moral panic or do you really think tracklists are somehow only sometimes relevant to the articles of albums?--181.115.61.109 (talk) 23:27, 20 July 2020 (UTC)

It will be at AFD soon, Atlantic306 (talk) 23:28, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
There's a full article on it on AMG, plus it's heavily referred when discussing AC as a whole on news articles. It's far from being the most discussed album, but it scrapes by the notability threshold. --181.115.61.109 (talk) 23:32, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
One review is not enough, and the content related more to AC belongs in the main article, imv Atlantic306 (talk) 23:34, 20 July 2020 (UTC)

Joe Lentol Move

Hi there! It looks like you might not have completed the round robin move for Joseph R. Lentol and Joe Lentol, as the latter is still in draft space. Do you mind finishing that up when you get a chance? Thank you! Brooklynpedestrian (talk) 20:37, 22 July 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Welkin-Animation

Hello Atlantic306. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Welkin-Animation, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: not completely promotional. Co-producing a notable series is a sufficient claim of significance. Thank you. SoWhy 07:59, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

Re: Reversing edits on the J Sai Deepak article

Hi Jimmy! I noticed that you reverted the edits on J. Sai Deepak. I must say I find that most peculiar, since you provided no reasons for doing so, and the effect is that there is now outdated information on the article. Let me point out the key problems:

  1. The subject no longer works as an associate partner at Saikrishna & Associates, there are numerous sources substantiating this. I do not understand why this incorrect information needs to be reverted to.
  2. The phrasing is appalling and the content inconsequential; it reads like marketing again. He worked on cases pertaining to Medical Law and Constitutional Litigation among others. - this is not only badly written, it adds nothing. His notability is not as a lawyer and is not regarding his representation in medical law cases, he is notable singularly for his role in the Sabarimala case. Piggybacking off that notability factor to turn the article into marketing is not acceptable.
  3. The sections on Education, Career, Papers are extraordinarily short and do not need to be broken up like this. Again, this is not a resume or CV, we need it to be an article. The inclusion of papers is also unnecessary, what other notable lawyer has their papers listed on their Wikipedia articles? Deepak is not notable for his contribution to legal academia, and writing papers is a common activity by law students and lawyers alike. This seems like an obvious addition to fluff up the profile to me.
  4. There is only a primary source for him being the Legal Mentor of the Indic Collective, i.e. their own website.
  5. The sentence structure of the old version is thoroughly inappropriate and adds nothing of value to the article, particularly since the case in question had itself not received widespread media attention. See: ...who represented the State of Madhya Pradesh in the case where the state government moved the Delhi high court on the issue of challenging the cease in supply of Basmati breeder seeds from the Center to the state on the basis of office memorandum.

I'm undoing that change, please do reach out in case you feel there is still a reason to revert back to the Phil Bridger iteration. It would be appreciated if there is a discussion beforehand.

Page Moving

Hello I need help with a little complication. Primarily I’ve used this flag to aid me in my new page patrolling duties as it draftifies articles without leaving redirects but sometimes when trying to perform a “move to draft” action I’m hit with the “Article already exists in draftspace” frustrating message. Could you help me identify the method in which I’m to take to successfully move the article back to draftspace? Celestina007 (talk) 17:43, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

  • It's a bit awkward because it usually means there are two versions of the article- one in mainspace and one in draftspace. Not sure what the proper procedure is but sometimes i've redirected the one in mainspace if there is a suitable target and left the one in draftspace, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 18:43, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

@Celestina007: move the article to "draft:XYZ 2", in edit summary mention draft:XYZ esists, then add a notice at the top of both the draft copies. One should ask such questions on talkpages of projects, where you would get opinions of multiple experts. For this question, it should have been WT:NPP/R, and not WT:RM. Regards, —usernamekiran (talk) 22:13, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

  • @Usernamekiran: and where is that stated in policy or guidelines? regards Atlantic306 (talk)
usernamekiran (and Celestina007, since you asked originally), I'm going to overrule you a little bit here. If there is already a draft, and (99% of the time) the article is a copy of the draft, then the page needs to be taken to AFD. There is zero point in creating a dozen variants of a draft page if the creator is going to just keep creating the page in the article space. Primefac (talk) 02:33, 31 July 2020 (UTC)
@Primefac: I completely agree with that too. But I would also make the decision based on the activity of creator; especially if the creators are different. That would fall in the remaining 1% of the cases I think. If there are similarities, and other doubts; then it would definitely be AfD + SPI. —usernamekiran (talk) 03:19, 31 July 2020 (UTC)
Primefac, HA! the universe is really crazy, I resolved to follow this course of action about 4 days ago & today you confirm it. If I see a BLP article I moved to draft moved back to mainspace with 0 sources still, the next step would be straight to an AFD! that is, following a before search though. Yung Gravy Edit Reversal

Good day. You reversed the edits I made on the Yung Gravy page today, and I'm wondering if you can explain what additions felt promotional? I looked pretty hard to find sources for everything I added. I think I found every reliable source on his career thus far. I'd be willing to edit it based on your feedback as overall I think I greatly improved the article.

Thanks
