A company that was founded last week is very unlikely to have a credible claim to notability, which is what is needed to decline a speedy. Notability is not inherited, so the fact that the founder has an article does not make the company itself notable. In any event, I've AfDed it. Harry Let us have speaks 19:06, 12 March 2016 (UTC)

Atlantic306 (talk) 23:41, 24 March 2016 (UTC)

Hello,
this article was created by a long-term persistently disruptive IP-hopping editor of F1 articles. He has caused multiple problems for the F1 project since August of last year and constantly creates articles which fail F1 project notability (as this one does). This was pointed out on the talk-page and a request for help also made. These were apparently ignored. The car does not pass WikiProject F1 notability and as such should not have been accepted. But Swister Twister has accepted four F1 articles in the last 2 days which fail notability. I thought the idea of a review system was to weed out the sub-standard poorly written submissions, not to blindly accept everything no matter what. Would also point out that the page has not been deleted as such but turned into a re-direct to the main mfr page (as has been done with multiple similar problem cases without interference from outside the F1 project). If you have several hours to spare you can get some idea of the extent of the problem the project has with this editor at the project page or if you want the 'War and Peace' edition see User talk:Bretonbanquet where almost an entire talk page is devoted to the subject in various sections. In the meantime the re-direct will be restored and will probably be again if you revert. There are more than enough editors from the project involved here for a consensus. Sorry. Regards, Eagleash (talk) 18:59, 31 March 2016 (UTC)

Hello, and thanks for your message. Yes I'm afraid the IP editor is acting very much against consensus and despite many requests will not either stop, create an account or join or interact with, the project. I'd be glad to assist with Motorsport articles. Thanks for asking. Eagleash (talk) 22:38, 1 April 2016 (UTC)

India National PolioPlus Committee

Hi. I dream of horses tagged India National PolioPlus Committee with A7 and G11, and you removed the tags saying in your edit summary "Claim of significance eradication of polio in India, not advertising". I agree with removing the A7 tag, there was a credible claim of significance. The G11 tag is often debated, this article was maybe not exclusively promotional, but major parts needed to be fundamentally rewritten to get rid of the slick language. Lingo like "Successfully gaining access to children who have never been reached before is an integral component of Rotary PolioPlus commitment." ought to catch attention.

When a new article sounds almost too good to be true, there might be a gifted writer behind it. However, a thoughtful writer will very often spend time complying with the MoS. When we have a large, new article, that sounds good but e.g. contains no links to other articles, it can be a case of copy-vio. As was the case with India National PolioPlus Committee. There is hardly a line that was not directly copy-pasted from http://www.rcss.in/NID%20Invitation%2027%2002%202011.pdf Which is why it sounds so self-serving.

User:The Earwig/copyvios.js gives you a "Copyvio check" item in the Tools menu linking to his Copyvio Detector on Toollabs. Try it.

The article creator has blanked India National PolioPlus Committee, so I will tag it with G7. Best, Sam Sailor Talk! 16:28, 11 April 2016 (UTC) Please leave me a {{talkback}} if you reply

Re: Speedy deletion nomination of Lizzy Plapinger

Hi, my only involvement with Lizzy Plapinger page was creating a redirect to the article of her band, MS MR, almost three years ago. The article has recently been created by another user, who might be a better person to contact regarding issues with the content. As for my opinion, I'd rather have it redirected back to MS MR page than have it completely deleted. Cheers, Mayast (talk) 17:30, 22 May 2016 (UTC)

"Removed Hoax"

You blanked a page, saying it was to remove a hoax. Why did you do that? It didn't seem like a hoax. If it was, I screwed up, sorry. ThePlatypusofDoom (Talk) 00:27, 12 June 2016 (UTC)

I think its a hoax where the winner of the series was changed, the correct article is at America's Got Talent (season 3) thanks for keeping check Atlantic306 (talk) 00:34, 12 June 2016 (UTC)

Hello, I would say it's borderline really. The article claims wins at 24 Hours of Daytona and the Grand Prix of Long Beach. However these would seem to be a class win and a win in the sportscar equivalent race (not the open-wheel 'Indy' race) respectively and thus not top level. I believe the Star Mazda series referred to has some notability but it's not top level by any means. I'm afraid I'm not well enough up on American race-series these days (or anything outside historical Formula One). It might be an idea to ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Motorsport or Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Sports Car Racing as I can't seem to find a project for either IndyCar racing or American motorsport generally (which tends to have quite marked differences to European racing)...the nearest being Wikipedia talk:WikiProject NASCAR. Overall I think it likely just fails but could be wrong! The guy seems to have been around for a while without 'pulling up any trees' but his career is still possibly on an upward curve. He would need to compete in a top level series or at Le Mans or in the top class (successfully) in sportscar racing in the States for notability not to be in doubt. Sorry not to be of more help. Merge performed

Hi Atlantic306: Way back in January you participated in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Miss World hosts and invited artists, which was closed as a merge. I have (finally) merged the content to Miss World § Miss World hosts and invited artists. This was opposed by the nominator for deletion, against the consensus of the discussion, who redirected the page without performing any merge, stating in edit summaries that there's nothing to merge (diff, diff). However, I disagree, performed the merge, formatted the table, and have begun adding sources to verify the content.

Writing to request assistance with further verifying and improving the section of the article, if you're interested. I've also notified Richie Campbell, who participated in the discussion, and the closer, Coffee, about all of this. Cheers! North America1000 09:47, 22 June 2016 (UTC)

Hi, North America you were right to merge as there was a consensus and plenty to merge. Will have a look but don't know much about beauty contests. Thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 18:29, 22 June 2016 (UTC)

Thank you

Hello Atlantic306,

Thanks for pointing out at the article Laurie Langford that an article should not be gutted out while at AFD by writing in the edit summary, "(Reverted to revision 728202795 by Fouetté rond de jambe en tournant: Not clear material isn't sourced in written refs, also article should be judged on its merits as when it was nominated." I feel the same way as you. I feel that if an article is at AFD the whole community of editors should be allowed to discuss the article and its sources from the time when it was nominated. That way a fair consensus may be reached. Fouetté rond de jambe en tournant 00:01, 6 July 2016 (UTC)

Thanks, I agree with you Atlantic306 (talk) 00:15, 6 July 2016 (UTC)

Heyo! Wanted to see if you could elaborate on your message in the removal of my prod of Safin Taki. I was under the impression that Prod and Prod-BLP were two separate things. I used Prod-BLP when it had zero sources. Then a couple of sources were added at the bottom (none inline) so it no longer qualified as Prod-BLP so I did a standard Prod. Not questioning that you did the right thing or arguing, just want to understand better why what I did was wrong. Thanks! *KNOWLEDGE!!!* --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 19:35, 29 July 2016 (UTC)

Hi, a prod cannot be replaced once it has been removed as per WP:Proposed deletion, on this article the author removed the prod which he is allowed to do on a prod and then you replaced it which is not allowed. The article can now only be deleted at AFD or if it qualifies for a speedy. If I had not removed the prod the closing admin would have done anyway. Thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 19:40, 29 July 2016 (UTC)

Thank you for reviewing the JD Busfield article. The article is notable based on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(sports)

College athletes and coaches are notable if they have been the subject of non-trivial media coverage beyond merely a repeating of their statistics, mentions in game summaries, or other WP:ROUTINE coverage. Examples would include head coaches, well-known assistant coaches, or players who:

1 Have won a national award (such as those listed in Template:College Football Awards or the equivalent in another sport), or established a major Division I (NCAA) record.

Reference 2 http://www.ncaa.com/news/baseball/article/2015-12-22/college-baseball-2016-louisville-slugger-preseason-all-americans is a national award, recognized by the NCAA and included on their site and is an equivalent award as defined in the notability guidelines. Please reconsider your rejection based on these criteria. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.71.78.101 (talk) 00:18, 5 August 2016 (UTC)

Hey Jim, Thanks for the message. I'm new to Wikipedia but I currently work as a representative to Jake Cawsey. As an agency we feel the information you've provided, as good as it is, it's too much. We are trying to keep it short and concentrate on his main achievements in soccer. Within the next day or two, we will be making the correct adjustments to his page and we kindly ask that you leave them alone. We respect you taking an interest in Jacob, however, we just want him to be represented in the way we feel will help him reach his goals.

by 1.39.37.84 (talk) 04:59, 1 September 2016 (UTC) I have the idea that the name: Mount Signal is better than El Centinela, for an article in english about the summit[edit] I have a basic knowledge of english, I can read it much better than write it. I don't Know if l'm capable to express or explain the matter or subject with all the necessary details. So I gonna write it in spanish, hoping that you can understand me. Verdelunar (talk) 05:59, 19 September 2016 (UTC) What is important is how the mountain is called in the English literature. And in any case, if you want to move the page, you should move it using the corresponding button, and not cut-and-paste it from one article to another one.--Ymblanter (talk) 05:59, 19 September 2016 (UTC) If I try to move with the proper fuction, the system won´t allow me because there´s an article call it Mount Signal already. I´m only trying to make it easier. The alternative is delete the article Mount Signal and then create it again by moving the article El Centinela (Baja California, Mexico) with its aproppiate name in english: Mount Signal. I hope you understand me.Verdelunar (talk) 05:31, 24 September 2016 (UTC)

I noticed you nominated this for speedy deletion. Did you check the edit history? I agree that some recent changes on the 26th/28th/30th made it look promotional but I think we could just roll those back to November 2015 and let it stay intact. Do you have any opposition to allowing https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=PGS_Entertainment&oldid=690443359 to exist without nominating it for deletion? Invite to the African Destubathon

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

Bondage equipment

Hi, the consensus was to keep or merge into bondage equipment as I did. For some reason it was removed instead. Biofase flame| stalk  19:11, 10 October 2016 (UTC)

So, the list of bondage equipment is being merged into Bondage Equipment? that's fine thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 19:17, 10 October 2016 (UTC)
No it originally had its own article. It was nominated for deletion with the result to keep. Someone went around that and listed it again with the result again to keep or merge. For some reason it was just removed though. List of bondage equipment is just a list and not really the place for it.
I'd prefer it to still have its own article but seeing as it probably won't be expanded a lot Bondage_equipment is probably the best place for it. Ideally the article should be expanded as was probably intended. Biofase flame| stalk  19:37, 10 October 2016 (UTC)

Please re-add PROD template to Dick Hoven

You removed the PROD tag from Dick Hoven, claiming that Billboard is a reliable source. But the PROD template says "at least one reference to a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article." The Billboard reference does not support a statement made about the (alleged) person described in the article. Would you mind reinstating the tag? Revert

Dear Atlantic306,

Could you please point out which guideline supports your revert? I might not be aware of this specific guideline. If there is no such guideline, please revert yourself since adding a header references while there are no refs is misleading. Natuur12 (talk) 12:17, 9 November 2016 (UTC)

  • Having areference section is standard practice per WP:MOS, instead of deleting an empty one references should be added as per WP:GNG, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 22:02, 9 November 2016 (UTC)
    • Of course I checked the MOS but I don't find a section that support empty ref sections. When you add an empty section you are misleading users using the mobile website because they will load a specific section and then find out that this section is empty. Also, it will screw up a PDF when you convert a Wikipedia article into a PDF. And no, this article shouldn't be sourced but rather be deleted but that's another story. Natuur12 (talk) 23:45, 9 November 2016 (UTC)

++Disagree, adding references solves all these problems and is best advised rather than deletion. However if you feel so strongly about it feel free to revert , thanks Atlantic306 (talk).

  • I only want to know which guideline support your claim regarding the ref-section and I would appreciate it if you don’t speculate about how I feel about this specific case. I merely want to understand the English Wikipedia’s enigmatic practices and guidelines.
  • I just happen to delete this specific article at another wiki after I did a search for independent, reliable secondary sources so I doubt they can be found. Natuur12 (talk) 00:02, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
    • You do know that you just added linkspam? Natuur12 (talk) 00:05, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
      • Removed first ref on your advice, second ref seems better Atlantic306 (talk) 00:19, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
        • Regarding the second link. At least it isn’t a spam link but I rather doubt that this is a reliable source. See here and here for example. It seems that everyone can send in material. There is some sort of a check but given the quality of the article I rather doubt that the check is thorough. (Of the Netherlands for example.) But on the other hand, using poor quality sources isn’t that uncommon at this Wiki.
I might not be an expert on en-wiki policy but I would like to give you a general advice about adding sources. It takes great skills to determine the quality of a source. Therefor it is best to only add sources if the topic discussed in the Wikipedia article falls within your area of expertise if you have little experience determining the quality of sources. Nonetheless the sources you added aren’t that hard to assess. Secondly, if you use a source that is written in a language you don’t understand: don’t use it. The worst nonsense is introduced in articles because people use sources they don’t understand. I might sound a bit harsh but this is not my intend. I merely noticed that you participated in the WikiProject Articles for creation and that you are a proposed deletion patroller. Therefor I am a bit worried because if you use the same methods as you used now to add sources to articles it can be quite harmful. Natuur12 (talk) 13:34, 10 November 2016 (UTC)

Arman Arian page

Dear Atlantic30 Non of Arman Arian references are relative to the contents Some are in Persian and some just link to the home page of websites I only delete every content with no reference And as I know the creator of the page is Arman Arian himself and he removed the PROD tag Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eric hack (talkcontribs) 18:21, 10 November 2016 (UTC)

Arman Arian

It is not the matter of language and it is not the matter of deleting the page. All the links in reference list redirects to irreletive pages. I couldn't find any reference even in Persia websites by searching to know if those books are published or not. So I deleted the contents with no reference. There is a tag in the talk page of that page which says: {{WikiProject Biography|living=yes|class=|listas = Arian, Arman}} So I deleted the contents with no reference. Arman Arian (following up)

Dear Jimmy

You reverted my edition for Arman Arian page and you accused me of vandalism. I sent you messages but you didn't answer the last one and you also don't let me to edit the page any more. I always tried to be a content provider for Wikipedia not an eraser OR a vandalist. I am waiting for your reply. New Page Review needs your help

Hi Atlantic306,

As an AfC reviewer you're probably aware that a new user right has been created for patrolling new pages (you might even have been granted the right already, and admins have it automatically).

Since July there has been a very serious backlog at Special:NewPagesFeed of over 14,000 pages, by far the worst since 2011, and we need an all out drive to get this back down to just a few hundred that can be easily maintained in the future. Unlike AfC, these pages are already in mainspace, and the thought of what might be there is quite scary. There are also many good faith article creators who need a simple, gentle push to the Tea House or their pages converted to Draft rather than being deleted.

Although New Page Reviewing can occasionally be somewhat more challenging than AfC, the criteria for obtaining the right are roughly the same. The Page Curation tool is even easier to use than the Helper Script, so it's likely that most AfC reviewers already have more than enough knowledge for the task of New Page Review.

It is hoped that AfC reviewers will apply for this right at WP:PERM and lend a hand. You'll need to have read the page at WP:NPR and the new tutorial.

Fraud

    • Hi, WP:ORIGINAL RESEARCH is not allowed on wikipedia. If fraud is suspected it should be reported to the relevant authorities and then after it has been investigated and reported in reliable sources only then should it be included on Wikipedia. The edits I reverted were based on sources that did not specifically identify and accuse the individual but were a synthesis of original research which is not allowed. Also please see WP:3RR as you have been involved in an edit war and both parties can be blocked, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 23:57, 19 November 2016 (UTC)
    • Fair enough. The Buzzfeed piece and the Bellingcat piece that were deleted make a clear case the person in question has a history of standing-up companies -- using Wikipedia and other avenues -- for fraud. As you know... I think the article in question should be deleted on notability grounds... protecting the public is a mere side-benefit... oh well... suum cuique. -pm 99.242.25.5 (talk) 00:12, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
      • I advise you to pursue WP:AFD by making the request at the AFD talk page. Having looked again at all the information I don't think there is absolute proof of fraud only strong allegations such as from one person regarding the books company., but there is a lack of notability so would vote delete. thanksAtlantic306 (talk) 01:06, 20 November 2016 (UTC)

Thank you ツ

Dear Jimmy,
Thank you for reviewing the article on Clive Barda I moved to main space yesterday. Very best wishes, and many thanks for your contributions to our encyclopedia, and for all you do in support of your fellow editors.
With kind regards;

Don't remove the evidence of a copyright violation when you come across it. That's worse than doing nothing. Toddst1 (talk) 19:45, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
