Eastern South Asia proposed deletion
Why did you removed proposed deletion tag on the day when it was supposed to be deleted. [1]. This page is redundant. --Spasage (talk) 15:49, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- Because I think any usable significant content should be merged before deletion. Once it has been merged it can be turned into a redirect to the article with the most merged content, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 15:53, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- Help me understand, how can you simply remove a a proposed for deletion tag. Have you discussed it. Removing tags like this is vandalism. You never contributed to that article. What are you doing. I asked all the edits and creator about this. Their comments are in talk page. Everyone agrees that this is redundant. --Spasage (talk) 16:20, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- Anyone can remove a prod notice for any reason as per WP:PROD. If there is agreement that there is nothing to merge just redirect it Atlantic306 (talk) 16:23, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- Looking at that discussion one editor opposes the deletion and another suggests a merge of any usable content so there were objections to deletion on that talk page Atlantic306 (talk) 16:27, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- So, what should be next step then. --Spasage (talk) 17:00, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- Its up to you but you could continue the talkpage discussion by pinging the editors opposed and discussing it with them or if you don't want to redirect it you could take the article to WP:AFD, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 17:33, 29 January 2018 (UTC)

Rollback granted
Hi Atlantic306. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! TonyBallioni (talk) 15:56, 6 February 2018 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer Newsletter
Backlog update:
- The new page backlog is currently at 3819 unreviewed articles, with a further 6660 unreviewed redirects.
- We are very close to eliminating the backlog completely; please help by reviewing a few extra articles each day!
New Year Backlog Drive results:
- We made massive progress during the recent four weeks of the NPP Backlog Drive, during which the backlog reduced by nearly six thousand articles and the length of the backlog by almost 3 months!
General project update:
- ACTRIAL will end it's initial phase on the 14th of March. Our goal is to reduce the backlog significantly below the 90 day index point by the 14th of March. Please consider helping with this goal by reviewing a few additional pages a day.
- Reviewing redirects is an important and necessary part of New Page Patrol. Please read the guideline on appropriate redirects for advice on reviewing redirects. Inappropriate redirects can be re-targeted or nominated for deletion at RfD.

Disambiguation link notification for February 16
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Hurriganes, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page WSOY (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Where's the Merge & Redirect process taking place?
You did (17.Feb.2018,15:09Z) a WP:PRD-reversal on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Help_Forums w. article change comment "deprod- suggest merge and redirect".
Where & How can I observe the merge and redirect suggestion process trajectory? --DexterPointy (talk) 01:24, 18 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, WP:Merging gives the instructions for starting a merge discussion if you want to merge and after consensus how to implement it. As you know more about the subject you are better qualified than me to carry it out if you wish to, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 11:33, 18 February 2018 (UTC)
- So, if I understand you correctly, then you didn't actually do anything, except for removing WP:PRD from the article.
Well, in a merge, there's a source and a destination, and in this specific case, then:
The source is easy to handle: It's just a matter of writing one or two sentences, by paraphrasing what I wrote in the WP:PRD concern.
The destination, i.e. Google Groups, is however more problematic. The Google Groups article has a lot of problems, of which only some are noted in the articles header-box from June.2014. (And, from the Talk page, then the article failed a "good article" review in 2006, over a decade ago, and stands as "rated as C-Class on the quality scale.").
So, Suggestion: Instead of throwing the source-info into the Google Groups article now, which would make the article worse, then: Add the source-info to the destination-article's Talk page. - That way the source (Google Help Forums) can be deleted now, without causing relevant information to be lost, and without creating further quality problems in the destination (Google Groups).
How does that suggestion sound? --DexterPointy (talk) 17:36, 18 February 2018 (UTC) - Sounds good, but instead of deleting blank the page and redirect to target article, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 17:57, 18 February 2018 (UTC)
- OK, I have added the relevant "merge-source-info" to the Talk page of the "merge-destination" here
But: How do I do a blank & redirect, without it immediately being reverted by some anti-vandal-bot?
Note: I don't even know how to redirect (I've never done such before).
--DexterPointy (talk) 21:03, 18 February 2018 (UTC) - Hi, in the edit source if you press advanced its the blue arrow pointing to the right for redirect. As long as an edit summary is left such as redirecting as per discussion it should'nt be reverted by a bot. I'm going offline now but if you haven't done it i'll do it tomorrow, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 21:33, 18 February 2018 (UTC)
- OK, Thanks! Done! --DexterPointy (talk) 21:48, 18 February 2018 (UTC)
- OK, I have added the relevant "merge-source-info" to the Talk page of the "merge-destination" here

Rebecca Jane Brown
Can you explain why you think the selected list of Rebecca Jane Brown's vlogs is a BLP violation? Is it because you feel the titles are cherry-picked and therefore negative? I'm not convinced that a sample of the subject's works is inherently a BLP, unless there's bias in the selection. —C.Fred (talk) 16:42, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, I felt the examples were negative such as how she was rejected by Disney, how she doesn't want children, how she doesn't like a popular book but if you think the content is ok to be sourced to the youtube videos then I'll leave it, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 16:49, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
- I'm neither convinced the examples are fair nor convinced that they're a BLP violation. I've hit the article with my mop to move it back to the status quo. I've asked Mangetoutmangetout to start a discussion about the links at Talk:Rebecca Jane Brown to explain why the links are suitable. I look forward to your contribution to the discussion there on why they aren't. —C.Fred (talk) 17:19, 24 February 2018 (UTC)

- Xenon One (talk · contribs) Hi, anyone can nominate an article for deletion whether it has been reviewed or not. Unfortunately the AFD discussion is favouring deletion due to him not having prominent roles or enough coverage. I approved the article as a borderline decision because he won a reality television show but the show doesn't have an article so perhaps if you can find good sources you could create an article about the show and mention him there otherwise it would be best not to recreate the actor's article until he has one or more leading roles, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 20:24, 7 March 2018 (UTC)

New Page Patrol December Newsletter
Hello Atlantic306,
- Year in review
It has been a productive year for New Page Patrol as we've roughly cut the size of the New Page Patrol queue in half this year. We have been fortunate to have a lot of great work done by Rosguill who was the reviewer of the most pages and redirects this past year. Thanks and credit go to JTtheOG and Onel5969 who join Rosguill in repeating in the top 10 from last year. Thanks to John B123, Hughesdarren, and Mccapra who all got the NPR permission this year and joined the top 10. Also new to the top ten is DannyS712 bot III, programmed by DannyS712 which has helped to dramatically reduce the number of redirects that have needed human patrolling by patrolling certain types of redirects (e.g. for differences in accents) and by also patrolling editors who are on on the redirect whitelist.

- Reviewer of the Year
John B123 has been named reviewer of the year for 2020. John has held the permission for just over 6 months and in that time has helped cut into the queue by reviewing more than 18,000 articles. His talk page shows his efforts to communicate with users, upholding NPP's goal of nurturing new users and quality over quantity.
- NPP Technical Achievement Award
As a special recognition and thank you DannyS712 has been awarded the first NPP Technical Achievement Award. His work programming the bot has helped us patrol redirects tremendously - more than 60,000 redirects this past year. This has been a large contribution to New Page Patrol and definitely is worthy of recognition.

Absurd edit summary
This is absolutely absurd. You should know by now "a wikilink is not a reliable source." Did you check each of the linked articles to see that they were all sourced? Hmmm??
So, if someone uses that info for something that is potentially dangerous and you've got folks adding random crap from who knows where like this, you're ok with it. Great. Toddst1 (talk) 19:06, 22 December 2020 (UTC)
- Did you check? I checked a sample and it verified. If you disagree with the deprodding take it to AFD, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 00:59, 23 December 2020 (UTC)

Unnecessary to add "30em" parameter to the reflist template
It's unnecessary to add a "30em" parameter to the reflist template; the template defaults to that setting if nothing else is specified and there are more than 10 references. Unless you have a really good reason to try to format one article is a specific way, it's best to trust the maintainers of that template to apply default settings that work for all readers on all devices. - Not sure it does work as well as you suggest. The reason I changed them was that it was not dividing any ref lists into columns on my ipad 11 inch on safari font size 100%, but it was dividing with the 30em included. Today I've changed the font size to 85% and it works on that size, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 23:15, 26 December 2020 (UTC)
- Please drop a note at Template Talk:Reflist; it's much, much better to address this for all articles at once than one-at-a-time with an optional parameter. ElKevbo (talk) 00:16, 27 December 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks, have now done so Atlantic306 (talk) 00:24, 27 December 2020 (UTC)
