[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Carolyn Taylor, What Now, 1990s.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:00, 23 March 2022 (UTC)

Hi ArleneHerman, I've moved a lot of text between sub-sections – especially in the "Career" section – so it reads in chronological order. I also removed some redundant text. I noticed some of the text is referenced with self-published sources produced by the article's subject, which you should be careful with; see here. Good luck with the article and cheers, Baffle☿gab 04:28, 25 June 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Death of the Dickason children
[edit]Hello ArleneHerman,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Death of the Dickason children for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.
If you don't want Death of the Dickason children to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Mateo Metcalfe moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Mateo Metcalfe, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Liz Read! Talk! 04:11, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @Liz. This was an accident. It needs to be removed. It's for the Spanish wikipedia which it's done in full now. English version is Matthew Metcalfe. I added a note to get it removed. Thank you. --ArleneHerman (talk) 04:38, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
- I have requested it for deletion with the correct tag. Thank you @Liz! :) --ArleneHerman (talk) 04:46, 28 July 2023 (UTC)

Marshelec (talk) 07:01, 29 August 2023 (UTC)- Hi ArleneHerman. I have made some minor changes to the Luke Bird article, including adding an automatic infobox (it takes its information from Wikidata. See:D:Q121991348).
- At present, this article is "stranded", with only one other "normal" article containing a link back to Luke Bird. You can see the incoming links by going to the article and finding the "What links here" option under Tools on the left hand menu. Ideally, some additions would be made to other WP articles where it would be relevant to mention Luke Bird, so that it has more chance of being viewed. (However, I see that on a Google search, the article already appears in the top 6 hits). Marshelec (talk) 21:02, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
- I see the changed you have made! Thanking you so much for helping with this. I was wanting to create an Early life etc. but I wasn't able to find many sources about his early life. Just that he was born and raised in Whangarei. Also didn't want to take too much off some agency website I found as this would be quite a strong primary source. Thank you again for your help! Orphaned non-free image File:Vincent Burke NZ Producer.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Vincent Burke NZ Producer.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 04:11, 4 February 2024 (UTC)
The file File:Colin Giltrap.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Violates WP:NFC#UUI
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. TheWikiToby (talk) 19:57, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- Didn't see that the individual has died before the image was uploaded. The tag was removed. Sorry for any confusion. TheWikiToby (talk) 19:59, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of File:AaronCarter2017.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:AaronCarter2017.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file from a commercial source (e.g. Associated Press, Getty Images), where the file itself is not the subject of sourced commentary. If you can explain why the file can be used under the non-free content guidelines, please add the appropriate non-free use tag and rationale.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Whpq (talk) 13:35, 4 June 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Louise Petherbridge New Zealand.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

Whpq (talk) 15:30, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
Non-free images
[edit]Hi,
Use of non-free content requires that it meet all of the non-free content criteria. You've uploaded images that do not meet all of the criteria. In particular, images from commercial photo agencies such as Getty Images, or AFP do not meet WP:NFCC#2 when just used for visual identification, and are subject to immediate speedy deletion (See WP:F7). Another issue with some of your image uploads are that they are replaceable (WP:NFCC#1). If there is a free image of the subject, you cannot replace it with a non-free image. Id does not matter if the subject is deceased. -- Whpq (talk) 15:40, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hello! I apologise on this on my end. Thank you for clarifying this on your end. Just some of the old photos were in a horrible quality and there is no other photos that can be replaced due to the person being deceased or members in the photo for example D12, have a deceased member and the group had disbanded. Thank you! ArleneHerman (talk) 19:49, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
- The photo of D12 is replaceable yes, but it's a horrible photo. Doesn't show the members of the group at all. Just their backs. But that's just my opinion. Thank you :) ArleneHerman (talk) 19:50, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Colin Giltrap.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Colin Giltrap.jpg.
Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:07, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
Replaceable non-free use File:MikePuruFlipside.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:MikePuruFlipside.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:33, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @Marchjuly! Honestly not an issue at all. You're welcome to remove it. That's my apologies. Thank you for advising me! ArleneHerman (talk) 02:58, 17 July 2024 (UTC)

The page Kate Shaw (writer) has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appeared to be a direct copy from https://komako.org.nz/person/965 and CC-by-NC is not a compatible license.. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition has been be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion review. — Diannaa (talk) 13:54, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Diannaa. I was sure that I only used information from this website as a source. It wasn't my intention to think it was copied from that website directly, which it wasn't. It was written differently. I said this page in my own words. In the history of my account, I have always made sure of this. Can you please turn this article into a draft and I will go through and fix it up? I was certain 100% that this was not a direct copy. I apologize for this. Never had this happened before. Thank you for letting me know though :) ArleneHerman (talk) 20:01, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
